Floral Blouse, or Picnic's Time :-)

Sincerely speaking nobody invited me to any picnics and to have some meal outdoors you can make a sandwich and eat it in the yard at any moment but this process needs no new special outfit :-) So this image is only my vision of me somewhere in the park in the shadows of the trees among high soft and still green grass...

Квітчаста блузка, або час піти на пікнік :-)

Мене, правда, ніхто ні на який пікнік не запрошував, та і щоб поїсти на свіжому повітрі можна просто зробити бутерброд і з'їсти його на подвір'ї щойно зголоднієш, але ж тоді не знадобиться жодного нового особливого вбрання:-) Тому цей образ - це просто моє уявлення про себе десь в парку в тіні дерев серед високої м'якої і поки що зеленої трави...

It is the first summer month outside. In Ukrainian June is "Cherven" - the month of "red". The name itself is inspiring enough nothing to say about summer joy and pleasures. At least, we hope to have them. But even without any great expectations summer is a fun itself.
This blouse #112 from Burda 4/2015 is a good start to create summer mood. It is light red and simple to make. And it is so loose that you can wear it together with your friend. The ready width of the bodice for size 40 (German) is about 60 cm. Thus to sew such a blouse the fabric must be very thin, very soft and very very very very well draping. To pair such a blouse is only possible with pencil (or almost pencil) trousers or a pencil skirt. I don't have a matching skirt - I guess it won't last long - so matched                                                                                            still nice red pants from some old Burda.

Надворі у нас перший місяць літа. А червень - це місяць червоного. Тобто сама назва вже надихає, що там вже казати про літні радощі та розваги. І навіть якщо нічого такого особливого від літа не очікуєш, все одно воно само по собі вже задоволення.
Ця блузка №112 з Burda 4/2015 - гарний старт, щоб відчути літній настрій. Вона легка червона і легко шиється. І вона така вільна, що можна носити її разом із подругою. Готова ширина основної частини біля 60 см для розміру 40 (журнального). Тому тканина для пошиття потрібна тонка, м'яка і має дуже, дуже, дуже, дуже гарно драпуватися. Таку блузу можна поєднувати лише з вузькою спідницею або штанами. Гожої спідниці у мене немає - думаю, тимчасово- тому я підібрала все ще гарні червоні штани з якогось старого номеру Burda

As it was mentioned above the blouse is simple and quick to sew. Its only feature is a sleeve slit.

To have it neat I used the same trick as for this blouse front neck hole slit. I mean after stitching don't unbaste the slit part. Press the seam open, put something stiff underneath the seam, roll the allowances, baste them, stitch and only after that remove all of the sleeve's basting.


Як вже згадувалося, блузу швидко і просто шити. Її єдина особливість - розріз рукавів.
Щоб він виглядав охайно, я використала той же прийом, що і для розрізу горловини цієї блузки. Мається на увазі, що після зшивання швів рукавів не варто видаляти зметування розрізу. Шов розпрасовуємо, кладемо щось жорстке під нього, підгортаємо припуски на шви, заметуємо, прострочуємо і лише потім видаляємо всі зметувальні стібки рукавів.

Next notion concerns the quantity of the fabric. The magazine's request is 2.10 m x 140 cm. But if you look at the arrangement of the paper pattern, you'll see how huge the piece of the fabric necessary for the bias binding is and how much fabric will be left. My blouse made from 1.50 m x 140 cm. It was enough because I made the binding from small pieces left after the cutting. I've got them seven and I can live with it. If you cannot, then buy more fabric.

It is worth mentioning that such bias pieces are not meant to be even and well matched after cutting as they show that in the manuals. As you always need to get a straight band after joining them, before stitching check the edges. It is well seen in the photo sometimes you should fit them.

Наступне зауваження стосується кількості тканини. Журнал пропонує 2,10 м х 140 см. Але якщо подивитися на розташування паперової викрійки, то видно як багато тканини піде на косу бійку і як багато тканини потім залишиться. Моя блузка пошита з 1.50 м х 140 см. Цього вистачило тому, що бейку я покроїла зі шматочків, що залишилися після крою блузи. У мене їх вийшло сім і я з цим можу спокійно жити, якщо ти - ні, тоді купуй більше тканини.

Варто також зазначити, що такі косі шматочки не народжуються рівнесенькими і добре підібраними, як розповідають у підручниках. Оскільки завжди потрібно отримати пряму смужку тканини після їхнього з'єднання, то перед зшиванням варто перевірити краї. Як добре видно на фото, кінці треба підганяти.

To complete the image I wear the necklace, earrings, bracelet and my idea hat that were made before.

London Yellow Taxi (probably:-))

It is not worthy to acknowledge that but I've felt upset because of losing the access to my four-year Burdastyle profile... I was very motivated with my activity there, besides, I have no sewing friends but in the Internet.

It is not the greatest sorrow for anybody especially  in my country, where the war is, but this persuasion doesn't influence me at all. So not to become entirely sad I decided to devote some of my time to seed beads embroidery. It is  very popular here. Right because of this common occupation, our hobby stores have wonderful choice of 10/0 seed beads. I wasn't affected by the temptation to start doing such embroidery quite long. Firstly, bead weaving is much more interesting for me and secondly, I had eight years period of active engagement in cross stitching (the link to some of my works) and had no great wish to come back to that.

But this year  I've got as gifts two pictures to embroider. One of them is this one with some London view. I like it very much: grey city scenery (by the way, I'd like to learn what spot it is) and a bright car as if inviting to adventures. As soon as you get into it, all the world becomes dyed with vivid colours and fills with joy. And while embroidering, I can invent some funny story about what could happen if I found myself in this picture (I did like to do that in my childhood).

Негоже в цьому зізнаватись, але мене засмутила втрата доступу до мого чотирирічного профілю на Burdastyle... Мене дуже стимулювала діяльність на сайті, до того ж поза Інтернетом у мене немає подруг, які б теж захоплювалися пошиттям.

Це, звісно, не саме велике горе, яке може трапитись із людиною, особливо в моїй країні, де триває війна, але чомусь це вмовляння на мене не діє. Тому, щоб зовсім не засумувати, я вирішила присвятити трохи часу вишиванню бісером. У нас це дуже популярне заняття. Якраз через загальне захоплення такою вишивкою наші крамнички мають чудовий вибір бісеру 10/0. Я довго не піддавалася спокусі поринути в це хобі. По-перше, плетіння бісером для мене набагато цікавіше, а по-друге, у мене був десь 8-річний період активного вишивання хрестиком (посилання на деякі мої роботи), і особливого бажання повертатися до нього у мене не було. 

Але цього року я отримала в подарунок дві картини для вишивання: одна з них - ця, з видом Лондону. Вона мені дуже сподобалася: сірий похмурий міський пейзаж (до речі, треба дослідити, що це за місце) і яскравий автомобіль, наче готовий до пригод: сідаєш в нього і все навколо змінюється, стає наче розписаним яскравими фарбами і наповнюється радістю. А поки вишиватиму, можна вигадати якусь милу історію: щоб трапилося, якби я опинилася в цій картині (в дитинстві я любила таке вигадувати).

Hugs & Kisses (bracelet)

It was already mentioned in the previous post how pleasant hugs and kisses could be so not to tease anybody including myself I won't be blabbing on this topic any more  and at once go on with my beading:-)  Hugs & Kisses bracelet is ready and now the set looks like a real greeting for summer.

Обійми і поцілунки (браслет)

Приємність обіймів і поцілунків вже згадувалась в попередньому дописі, тому щоб нікого не дражнити (включно зі мною), я більше не базікатиму на цю тему і одразу перейду до нанизування:-) Браслет в пару до сережок готовий, і набір виглядає, як справжнє привітання літа.

To make the bracelet I used this tutorial from +beadifulnights and this time changed nothing in the pattern. But as I had bigger sizes of the beads (the green - 10 mm and the red - 8 mm), I used less number of them than in the tutorial. White pearls are 6 mm and green pearls seem to be 3 mm. Seed beads 10/0.



Щоб зробити браслет, я скористалася цим майстер класом від +beadifulnights  і цього разу вже нічого не змінювала в моделі. Але оскільки мої намистини більші за розміром (зелені - 10 мм, червоні - 8 мм), мені їх знадобилося менше ніж в МК. Білі перлини - 6 мм і зелені - 3 мм. Бісер 10.0.

I like the set very much. It looks playful and bright and that expresses the idea of summer very well:-)


Мені дуже подобається набір. Він виглядає грайливо і яскраво і добре виражає образ літа:-)

Hugs & Kisses Earrings (my version)

It is known that hugs must be warm and intimate and kisses must be passionate sweet and gentle... And I guess such ideas are inspiring enough to make these earrings which are called exactly in that way:-)

The colour style of the project is defined by nature that is always  ready to help and to make the best choice easy:-) The design is suggested by Aleshia from +beadifulnights, probably she knows why these earrings were named Hugs & Kisses...

Обійми і поцілунки (моя версія)

Відомо, що обійми мають бути теплими і міцними, а поцілунки пристрасними, солодкими і ніжними... Думаю все це звучить достатньо чудово, щоб надихнути на створення сережок, які так і називаються:-)

Кольори для цього проекту визначені природою, яка завжди готова допомогти з легкістю зробити найкращий вибір :-) А модель запропоновано Aleshia з +beadifulnights, можливо, вона якраз і знає, чому ці сережки отримали назву  "Обійми і поцілунки"...

Besides the funny attractive name, the model has one more feature I liked. It is pretty adjustable to the materials you have for beading. For example, I couldn't match the beads exactly of the pointed sizes however, I made some changes in the design and got nice result anyway and the earrings got the touch of my individuality :-)

The first variant of the earrings was made exactly by the tutorial and, as it is seen on the pictures, my beads didn't fit well and the thread is too visible.

So I changed the size of the side beads, added seed beads between them and then added 3 mm bicones in the last row after all the embellishment.

Крім милої і кумедної назви, модель має ще одну ознаку, яка мені сподобалась. Її легко пристосувати до матеріалів, які є в наявності. Я, наприклад, не змогла підібрати намистини, які  вказані в МК, натомість, зробила зміни в дизайні і все одно отримала гарний результат, а сережки отримали дотик моєї індивідуальності :-)

Перший варіант сережок був зроблений точно за майстер класом і, як це видно на фото, мої намистини не дуже підішли одна до одної і дуже видно нитку.

Тому я змінила розмір бокових намистин, додала між ними бісерини, а потім ще і 3 мм біконуси в останньому ряду після оздоблювання. 

Hugs and Kisses are surely the thing none can be tired of so I suppose the theme will be continued:-)

Обійми і поцілунки - це вже напевно те, від чого неможливо втомитись, то думаю, що тему буде продовжено:-)

Cherries, Strawberries & Co

Bright berries are ideal nature's creation. They are both delicious and beautiful so give us both esthetic pleasure and practical use:-)) For instance, the season of red berries is in full swing now and we still can enjoy their juicy fresh taste and very attractive look. And as we are pretty skillful so let yeild the temptation to embody the image of these wonderful fruits in jewellry:-)

Черешні, полуниці & Компанія

Яскраві ягоди - це ідеальне творіння природи. Вони і смачні і гарні, отже маємо від них і естетичне задоволення і практичну користь:-)) Ось, наприклад, зараз сезон червоних ягід  у розпалі, то можемо насолоджуватися і їхнім соковитим свіжим смаком і дуже привабливим виглядом. І оскільки руки в нас ростуть, звідки мають, то і не відмовлятимемо собі в задоволенні втілити образ цих чудових плодів у рукотворах:-)

To make this necklace took me the whole of yesterday. It was not quick indeed. This is my first piece in net stitching and I must confess I didn't learn the beading pattern by heart although it's probably one of the simplest nets. 

The sample of the necklace is quite known, wide spread and it is easy to find  different interpretations of the pattern in the Internet. So I don't know if there is any real designer of such necklaces but I decided to make it after watching this video. Despite the girl explains clear, the video instruction didn't work this time so on Beadsmagic I found the scheme (there are several variants of the necklace on the site as well). And that let me go on. Besides, when using the scheme you can easily change the colour style of the piece on your own taste and need.

Робота над намистом зайняла весь вчорашній день, тобто не була швидкою. Це моя перша річ сплетена сіткою і маю зізнатись, що схему нанизування напам'ять я так і не вивчила, хоча, напевно, це одна з найпростіших сіток.

Зразок намиста досить відомий і поширений і в Інтернеті легко знайти різні його інтерпретації. Тому я і не знаю, чи є у нього справжній дизайнер, але мені спало на думку його зробити після перегляду цього відео.  Хоча дівчина добре пояснює, цього разу відео-інструкція не спрацювала, тому на Beadsmagic я знайшла схему плетіння (на тому ж сайті також є декілька варіантів такого намиста). І це мені дозволило продовжувати роботу. Крім того, якщо користуєшся схемою, можна легко змінити кольорову гаму виробу за власним смаком і потребою.

The berry season is not over yet that's why I hope this necklace will be just the first item of the set.

Serenity, or I Wish I Could Fly

The other days I was listening to the conversation between two girls discussing colour trends and heard the word serenity. I didn't know what colour it was until saw that video. I mean I didn't know that word is a colour at all :-) Then I read its definition - "tranquil blue" for the colour and  "free of disturbance" for the state of mind, I guess. And I liked the both. And what is more desirable when the holidays approach than freedom and calmness? And what makes us feel more peaceful and careless than while observing the sea and sky and following the moving clouds with our  thoughts?... Maybe the idea of  being able to fly...?



Безтурботність і спокій, або Хотіла б я вміти літати

Днями слухала розмову двох дівчат, які обговорювали модні кольори і дізналася, що є в англійській мові слово, щоб описати світлий блакитний відтінок. Слово це - "serenity". Я і не знала, що це слово означає якийсь колір, поки не подивилася те відео:-) Потім, як годиться, прочитала визначення - "спокійний блакитний" для кольору і "вільний від турбот" - для опису стану душі,... я так думаю. І мені сподобалися обидва. Що ж більш бажаніше ніж спокій і безтурботність, коли наближається час відпустки? А коли ми почуваємося більш вільними і врівноваженими, ніж коли споглядаємо безкрай моря та неба і стежимо і поглядом і думками  за рухом хмаринок? ... Можливо коли мріємо про вміння літати?...

And such thoughts brought me to  the colour style for  my new earrings. I can't but admit that right matching, alternating, mixing and combination the hues of blue caused five or six re-making of the earrings. The final choice of the seed beads that I liked at last: TOHO 33 both 11/0 and 15/0, Preciosa 10/0: 38210 and 38838.

І такі думки привели мене до кольорової гами моїх нових сережок. Не можу не зізнатись, що підбор блакитних відтінків, їх сполучення, комбінування та чергування спричинили п'ять чи шість переробок сережок. Остаточний варіант, який мені нарешті сподобався: бісер TOHO 33 і 11/0 і 15/0, Preciosa 10/0: 38210 і 38838.

As for the pattern I liked it from the first sight and its design belongs to +Nunzia Scalpore. I also want to thank my G+ friend +Lino M, who helped me with some translation as the tutorial is Italian and there was some trouble moment in it for me. 

But I did some changes. On the first picture you see the third variant of almost ready earring  made almost exactly by the tutorial. On the whole I liked it but the bigger motif is too large for such a rivoli, that seemed to me  being lost among intricate beading. So in the final variant I omitted last rows and instead of the 5 seed beads picos made it for 3 seed beads. I also changes the number of the seed beads in the first row of the smaller motif.

Щодо моделі, вона мені одразу сподобалась, її дизайн належить +Nunzia Scalpore. Хочу також подякувати моєму G+ другові   +Lino M , який мені трохи допоміг з перекладом, бо майстер клас італійською і там був для мене незрозумілий момент.

Але я зробила деякі зміни. На першому фото - десь третій варіант майже готової сережки, зробленої майже точно за МК. В цілому він мені сподобався, але більший мотив виглядав надто великим для такого ріволі. Мені здалося, що страз загубився серед хитромудрого плетіння. Тому в остаточному варіанті я відмовилася від останніх рядків і замість піко на 5 бісерин, зробила піко на 3 бісерини.  В першому ряду меншого мотиву також змінила кількість бісерин.

That's all just for awhile.. I guess I have to think about Serenity dress the nearest time:-)

Ось і все поки що... Думаю, маю подумати про спокійну і безтурботну сукню найближчим часом:-)

Colour of the Rain (earrings)

It was meant to be something very frivolous and cheerful... At least my initial intention was to make them exactly like that and I am almost sure the designer's idea was the same as well :-) But it happened the colour style changed because my mind was entirely captured by the rich florescence of nature that is so well-watered with May rains now. And inspiration never asks what is our plan - it always chooses on its own...

Колір дощу (сережки)

Це мало бути  щось дуже легковажне і безжурне... Принаймні таким був мій початковий намір і щось мені підказує, що він повністю відповідав ідеї дизайнерки :-) Але так сталося, що вся кольорова гама змінилася, бо буйне цвітіння природи напоєної дощем захопило мої думки. А натхнення ж ніколи не питає, який у тебе план - воно все вирішує саме...

Besides the colour style, I also changed some materials. As I had no such small rondelles, I used 4 mm bicones. I also used only 10/0 seed beads so had to change the number of the seed beads where +Made in Manu - Handmade Bijoux used 15/0 and instead of super duos I used twins. Well, it seems I only had the same size of the rivoli and  this tutorial where I found the idea :-)

Крім кольорової гами у мене також інші деякі матеріали. У мене не було таких маленьких ронделів, тому замінила їх на 4 мм біконуси. Весь використаний бісер у мене - № 10, тому там, де +Made in Manu - Handmade Bijoux користується № 15, довелося змінити кількість набраних бісерин. І замість супер дуо - у мене твіни. Що ж залишилося від оригіналу? Розмір ріволі і МК, де я вподобала ідею :-)  

I like what I have indeed... have no idea what outfit these earrings match but it has never been the problem for me:-)

Мені справді подобається, що у мене вийшло... не знаю правда, до якого вбрання ці сережки пасуватимуть, але це для мене ніколи не було проблемою:-)

White Blouse

To sew a white blouse is the best idea when you want to make everything and at once. It is always smarty and wearable and these blouses are never enough :-)
The other days one of my colleagues asked if I could sew only by the ready patterns or am able to draft something myself. I can indeed but almost don't do it. Firstly, because of lack of time, as sewing became  my hobby only long ago, I have to work to be able to spend money for this hobby:-) And secondly, and that is even more important,  I can just change any paper pattern according to my view of the design or to adjust to my figure, id est, to modify. Sometimes such changes are very essential and sometimes almost not noticeable as in the case with this blouse.

And I can congratulate my suit that at last it has got the blouse that was meant  for it purposely from the very beginning:-) 

Біла блузка

Пошити білу блузку, мабуть, це найкращий варіант, коли хочеться пошити все і одразу.  Вона завжди нарядна, підходить для будь-якого випадку і таких блузок не буває забагато:-)
Днями одна моя колега запитала, чи шию я лише по готовим викрійкам чи вмію моделювати щось своє. Вмію, але майже не роблю цього. По-перше, за браком часу, пошиття  вже давно для мене лише захоплення і я маю працювати, щоб на це захоплення витрачати гроші:-) А по-друге, хоча може і найголовніше, будь-яку викрійку я можу просто змінити відповідно до мого бачення якогось фасону, або щоб пристосувати до своєї фігури, тобто модифікувати. Іноді такі зміни  досить суттєві, а іноді майже непомітні, як у випадку з цією блузкою.

І я можу привітати свій костюм, що він нарешті отримав блузку, яка була назначена спеціально для нього із самого початку :-)

So, the blouse #108 from Burda 2/2016. At once I saw it, it was chosen as a perfect match for this fabric. Its pockets, sleeve straps and shirt collar are the signs of sportive safari style but I like when such outfits are made from the fabrics with floral prints. It is useful  for both the fabric and the design because both get new... breath :-)
My blouse made from light, half transparent rayon and p/a blend. I omitted shoulder loops and sleeve straps just because one of my future projects is supposed to have the same and to sew two identical items one after one is the last thing I ever do.

Отже, блузка 108 з Burda 2/2016. Щойно я її побачила, її було обрано як ідеальну пару для цієї тканини. Її кишені, пати рукавів і сорочковий комір - очевидні ознаки спортивного стилю сафарі, але мені подобається, коли такі речі шиють з тканини з квітковим візерунком. Це корисно і для тканини і для моделі, бо обоє отримують нове дихання :-)

Мою блузку пошито з легкою напівпрозорої суміші віскози та п/а. Я відмовилася від патів рукавів, тому що один з моїх наступних проектів можливо матиме такі самі, а шити однакові речі одну за одною, це останнє, що я колись роблю.

And now about modification. Instead of the suggested hidden front placket I made standard one single piece placket.
The width of the ready placket is 2 cm so to change the pattern you need to arrange the front detail along the edge of fabric for 6 cm from it without selvedge, that must be cut off because as a rule it gathers or pulls the fabric especially the thin one. Then outline the front edge line of the paper pattern and two more lines for 2 cm each along the edge. Leave the extra fabric for the neck hole because its correct line will be drawn later.




Переходимо до модифікації. Замість супатної планки, я зробила звичайну цільнокрійну. В готовому вигляді планка має бути 2 см завширшки, тому, щоб змінити викрійку, потрібно розкласти передню деталь блузки вздовж краю тканини відступивши 6 см від кромки, яку потрібно зрізати, тому що кромка стягує тканину, особливо тонку. Потім креслимо ще дві паралельні лінії через кожні 2 см. Залишаємо більший припуск по горловині, щоб потім вивести правильну лінію.

After that roll up the placket twice for 2 cm. Pin. Now you can arrange the paper placket on the detail and draw the proper line of the neck hole. Add seam allowance and cut the extra fabric. Here it is, a new modified detail. Both front parts are being changed the same at the same time.

Після цього двічі загортаємо край на 2 см. Сколюємо і тепер можна накладати паперову викрійку планки і малювати нову правильну лінію горловини. Додаємо припуск на шов і зрізуємо зайву тканину. Ось тепер маємо нову модифіковану деталь.

Now fold up, press, pin, baste and stitch the plackets.

It is quick modification and surely makes the sewing of the blouse or the dress #109 or the overall #110 from the same issue (all of them have the same pattern) much simpler.

Тепер знову складаємо, припрасовуємо, сколюємо і пристрочуємо планки.
Це швидка модифікація, яка вже напевно робить пошиття блузки  або сукні 109 або комбінезону 110 з того самого випуску (всі вони шиються по одній викрійки) набагато простішим.

Next detail is pockets. It is good as it is so I followed the instruction... probably... Honestly, I haven't read it. But when the pocket has a pleat I prefer stitching them along the folds for 1 mm. It is only because after washing it will be easier to iron the pockets. So outline the details accurately after making the pleats.

Наступна деталь - кишені. Вони гарні такі як вони є, тому просто працювала за інструкцією... мабуть... Правду сказати, я її не читала. Але, коли кишеня має складку, я вважаю за потрібне прокласти строчку вздовж згину складки десь на 1 мм. Так, після прання, буде кишені легше прасувати. Точний контур деталі креслимо вже після закладання складок.

Then process the pockets' facing and then baste the seam allowance around the pocket's edge.



Потім обробляємо обшивку кишені і заметуємо припуски на шви по контуру.

To some degree I was surprised that on the front detail there drew inner line (closer to the arm hole)  of sewing the pocket  instead the one along the front edge. So before basting and stitching the pocket to the blouse the intervals from the neck hole and from the placket to the pocket must be checked.


Була трохи здивована, що на викрійці відмічена внутрішня (ближча до пройми) лінія притачування кишені замість зовнішньої, вздовж планки. Тому перед притачуванням кишені до блузки відстань від горловини і від планки до кишені мають бути перевірені.

In the beginning and the end of stitching I try not to forget to stitch reinforcing  the pockets' corners. They may be of different kinds. For this blouse I made them in this way.




На початку та в кінці притачування намагаюсь не забувати зміцнювати куточки кишень. Вони можуть бути різної конфігурації, для цієї блузки зробила такі як на фото.

The collar is processed exactly like in this project. I only have some reminding how to make a nice collar's corners. Make an oblique stitch in the very corner, turn the detail out and set the corner with the needle. When top stitching the collar, put the piece of tracing paper under the detail in the corners to prevent it from gathering.

Комір обробляється так само, як в цьому проекті. Маю лише нагадати, як зробити гарні кутки у коміра. покладаємо косий стібок в самому кутку деталі. Потім вивертаємо, за допомогою голки розправляємо куточок. Коли відстрочуємо, щоб запобігти стягуванню деталі, підкладаємо під комір в кутках  по шматочку кальки.

Next detail is a cuff with a placket. I made the same cuffs here. But in this white blouse on some reason I made a usual cuff with a sleeve's cut processed with bias binding.


Наступна деталь - манжет. Я такі манжети з планками робила тут. Але в цій білій блузці чомусь зробила звичайний манжет з розрізом рукава обробленим косою бейкою.

The cuff is sewed in this way. Sew right side of the cuff to the wrong side of the sleeve. Then fold the cuffs with wrong side inside, roll the seam allowances and sew the cuff to the right side of the sleeve. The wrap for the fastening is about 2.5 cm and the width of the cuff, when it is ready, is 3 cm.

Манжет пришито так. Спочатку пришиваємо лицеву сторону манжета до зворотної сторони рукава, потім складаємо манжет зворотом всередину, підвертаємо припуски і пришиваємо до лицевої сторони рукава. Захід на застібку - 2,5 см, ширина манжета в готовому вигляді - 3 см.

That is all peculiarities of the sewing this time. Both the suit and the blouse are also lucky because all the spike jewelry items (the pendant, bracelet, necklace and earrings) complete the outfit greatly as it was expected as well :-)





Ось і всі особливості пошиття цього разу. І блузці і костюму, пощастило, що всі шиповані прикраси (кулон, браслет, намисто і сережки) чудово завершують вбрання, як і очікувалось:-)

Spikes & Co

Not to postpone for indefinite time the end of this "spiky" story, I made a quick project by +Potomac Bead Company tutorial to use all the left spike beads and to complete the set. I must confess the result is better than has been expected and the necklace looks  delicate and pretty. Besides, it matches very well the pendant and the bracelet. 

Шипи & компанія

Щоб не відкладати на невизначений час закінчення цієї "шипастої" історії, я зробила швидкий проект за МК від +Potomac Bead Company, щоб використати всі залишки шипів і закінчити набір. Маю зізнатись, що результат кращий ніж я очікувала і намисто виглядає делікатним і милим. Крім того, воно дуже добре підходить до кулону та браслету.

To make it you  need this video and the materials. I just followed the instructions and also the designer's advice to bead 15/0 seed beads before and after the spike to mask the thread. It was useful indeed.

I also want to admit that the necklace looks much better when wearing:-)

Щоб його зробити,  потрібне це відео і матеріали. Далі я просто слідувала інструкції, а також пораді дизайнерки додати 15/0 бісер до і після шипа, щоб замаскувати нитку. Це виявилось справді корисно.

Також визнаю, що намисто краще виглядає, якщо його вдягти:-)

Spikes & Co Earrings (eternal updating:-))

After finishing this project it occurred to me that maybe our works are not only the expression of our creative nature but as well the embodiment of our unconscious thoughts... I mean when starting beading (or re-beading) these pair of earrings I just wanted to have some wearable spiky pieces and now I see that I've got two stylised sea stars, haven't I? :-)
 And probably they tell about the wish to hear the noise of the sea and to plunge in its warm (or maybe chilly:-)) waves much more than occasional thoughts about the coming summer...

Сережки "Шипи & компанія" (нескінченне оновлення:-))

По закінченні цього проекту мені спало на думку, що можливо наші вироби не лише виражають нашу творчу природу, але також є втіленням наших несвідомих думок... Маю на увазі, що на початку роботи, я просто хотіла отримати пару якихось  шипованих сережок, придатних для щоденного носіння, а по закінченні отримала дві стилізованих морських зірки, чи не так? :-)
І можливо вони говорять про бажання послухати гомін моря і зануритися в його теплі (а може і прохолодні:-)) хвилі набагато більше ніж мимовільні думки про літо, що наближається...

I liked the spiky earrings I made few month ago. It was a useful experience to give a  try to soutage work but it was obvious I am out of age to wear them in that size. So I had either to make them less or change the design. I chose the latter, of course. So I unpicked the items and started surfing for some pattern. The idea from this video seemed to be suitable but as it often happens except the spikes I had no other needed beads to make the earrings. 


Мені подобалися шиповані сережки, які я зробила декілька місяців тому. Це була корисна спроба роботи із сутажем, але було очевидно, що сережки для мого віку завеликі. Отже потрібно було або зменшити їхній розмір, або змінити дизайн. Я, звісно, обрала останнє. Тому я їх розібрала і почала шукати якусь нову модель. Ідея з цього відео здалася те, що треба, але, як це часто буває, крім шипів жодного з необхідних матеріалів у мене не знайшлося.

But we never give up, don't we? I made the earrings from the materials I had and when all the beads fitted each other it became a new design:-)
I started with twins, then added big farfalles, then 4mm pearls, then I got into the process so deep that forgot to make  pictures. But I added spikes, and then between the spikes - one 10/0 seed bead, one 4 mm bicone, one 10/0 seed bead. Then around one of the bicones I beaded seven seed beads to make a loop for the hook. The hooks are the same from the unpicked earrings.

Але ж ми не шукаємо легких шляхів, чи не так?  Я зробила сережки з тих матеріалів, що у мене були, а коли всі намистини підійшли одна під одну, то у мене вийшов новий дизайн :-)
Почала з кільця твінів, потім додала великі фарфалле, потім 4 мм перлини, а потім так захопилася процесом, що забула зробити фото. Але я додала шипи і останній ряд - одна бісерина 10/0, один 4 мм біконус, одна бісерина 10/0. Навколо одного з біконусів нанизала сім бісерин для петлі. Гачки використала ті самі, навіть із кристалом.

And here they are. They had to remind the sun but remind the sea:-) I guess they suit the pendant and the bracelet much better. Besides, now I have some more spikes left so the updating will continue:-)





Ось такі зірочки вийшли... мали нагадувати сонце, а нагадують море:-) Думаю, вони краще підійдуть до кулону та браслета. До того ж в мене тепер залишилося ще декілька шипів, тому оновлення триватиме:-)

Antique Rose (ring)

Despite I am not a fan of  rings to wear, it seemes one day I can become a fan of them to make :-) For example, to bead this ring I was provoked by its designer, Aleisha from +beadifulnights.

Well... once upon a time I bought 50 g of twin beads and their real colour turned out to be different from the supposed. The beads are not food and have no expiration date so there's no need to cry over spilt milk. However, when I have no certain idea about next project, I randomly look through differnt tutorials to use such beads. Today, at the very moment, I came across a ring made of super-duo (or twins) but its creator called the project for the advanced beaders and she also advised first to make some other ring to train.  I obeyed and made the ring by +beadifulnights's  other video as I had enough 4 mm dark blue pearls that had bought but didn't use for my Antique Rose pendant :-)

Старомодна троянда (каблучка)

Хоча я і не прихильниця носіння каблучок, може статися, що я стану шанувальницею їхнього виготовлення :-) Приміром, зробити цю каблучку мене спонукала його дизайнерка Aleisha з +beadifulnights.

Отже... якось  давно я купила 50 г  твінів і їхній справжній колір виявився зовсім не тим, на який я розраховувала. Бісер - це не їжа і кінцевого терміну споживання не має, тому я і не засмутилася. Проте, коли в мене немає певного наміру щодо наступного проекту, я переглядаю різні МК для використання таких намистин. Ось сьогодні я натрапила на каблучку, яку можна зробити з твінів, але його авторка назвала той МК для просунутих майстрів і порадила почати з чогось простішого. Я її послухалася і зробила виріб за іншим відео від +beadifulnights, бо у мене були заготовлені, але невикористані темно-сині перлини для кулону :-)

It takes less time to make the ring than to write this story:-) The process reminds beading a bead which I made several times.  The tutorial is detailed and clear. My only re-making was because of adjusting the size. Finally I got it a bit loose but as I am going to wear it in summer, it will fit perfect.

Каблучку я сплела швидше ніж написала цю історію:-) Процес нагадує нанизування намистини, а я робила це вже багато разів. МК - детальний і зрозумілий. Єдина переробка була через визначення розміру. Зрештою каблучка вийшла трішечки великуватою, але оскільки збираюся носити її влітку, то буде якраз чудово.

While making the ring, it seems I decided what to create after it - something neutral. Probably something good to wear for any cases and occasions:-)

Поки працювала над каблучкою здається надумала, що буду робити наступне. Мабуть щось нейтральне, що можна вдягати для будь-яких випадків і нагод:-)
