Dark Blue Twin Set (Jacket)

The both of this set's items were made without any break, one after one. But during last, already few weeks, at first I couldn't get any decent photo of the jacket (it's not nice enough outside to take pictures and indoors photos are still not good) then couldn't find time to make the post (it's the end of term... you know). As with postponing the report about the sewing the interest to it is disappearing, I thought all the shortcomings of the post can be compensated with the story... if only I find anything interesting to tell :-)

Темно синя двійка (жакет)

Обидва предмети цієї двійки було пошито без жодних перерв, один за одним. Але протягом останніх, вже декількох, тижнів спочатку я не могла зробити пристойне фото жакету (на вулиці не досить мила погода для цього, а світлини в помешканні все ще такі собі), потім не могла знайти час для допису (це ж кінець семестру... ну, зрозуміло). Оскільки з відкладанням звіту про пошиття цікавість до нього зменшується, я подумала, що всі недоліки допису можна компенсувати розповіддю... якщо, звісно, згадаю щось цікаве :-) 

So, as it was mentioned in the previous post about the top, the most outstanding feature of this set is that I could cut it of 1.80 x  150 cm of knits. Because of that, I have a centre back seam.  The pattern of the jacket was chosen as soon as I saw the one #110 in Burda 11/2018. Any wrap model, either a blouse or dress or jacket is doomed to be sewed one day because they are my all time favourites :-)

Отже, як вже було зазначено в попередньому дописі про топ, найвидатніша риса цієї двійки - це те, що я покроїла її з 1,80 x  150 cм трикотажу. Через це по середині спинки маю шов. Модель жакету було обрано щойно я його побачила під номером 110 в Burda 11/2018. Будь яка модель на запах, чи то сукня чи блузка чи жакет, приречена одного дня на пошиття, оскільки  вони мої улюбленці на всі часи :-)

I invented nothing in the sewing but as my jersey is pretty thick, there was some trouble with the processing of the right front. There are few shares of the fabric there so the thickness of the edge with the pleats, belt and the facing was quite remarkable. It was solved with as much cutting the seams allowance as possible after stitching and steaming.

Я нічого не вигадувала в пошитті але, оскільки мій трикотаж доволі товстий, була певна проблема з обробкою правої частини переду. На рівні талії декілька шарів тканини, тож товщина краю зі складками, поясом та обшивкою відчутно значна. Вирішилося це зрізанням якомога більше припусків на шви після стачування всіх деталей та відпарюванням.

The outfits like this one, together with my new favourite skirt, I am ready to wear from morning till night :-) Especially with this jewellery. If I had no tailor's ego, I would wear this ensemble all the time: very comfortable, nice and warm, what is very important in winter here, clothes. I am very glad about the result indeed!

Таке вбрання, та ще разом з моєю новою улюбленою спідницею, я можу носити з ранку до ночі :-) Особливо з цими прикрасами. Якби я не мала жодного кравецького его,  носила б цей комплект весь час: зручний, гарний і теплий, що взимку тут дуже важливо, одяг. Справді дуже вдалий результат!

I yet had some story and very unexpected:-) During one of the tries to take a photo of the jacket my cousin offered to have lunch at the restaurant Tsypa (it's something like a nickname for a chicken) that attracted her with the names of the dishes. While reading the menu, I saw the address of the brewery from where they get their beer. It turned out to be village Kvacy in Transcarpathia. In a minute I was astounded with the thought that I was on that brewery during my Carpathian vacation last year but until seeing the address, I had no associations with the place despite "Tsypa" is their trademark and an absolutely unusual name for a beer; next day after visiting the brewery we climbed Hoverla (the highest mountain of Ukraine) and celebrated the event with one of Tsypa's beers. The lunch surely became twice tastier from that moment - wonderful memories always improve appetite:-) 

У мене все ж таки є історія і доволі несподівана:-) Під час однієї зі спроб зробити фото жакету, моя двоюрідна сестра запропонувала пообідати в ресторанчику "Ципа", який привабив її назвами страв. Переглядаючи меню, я побачила адресу броварні, з якої  вони отримують пиво. Виявилося, що це село Кваси, Закарпатської області. За хвилину до мене дійшло, що я була на тій броварні під час моїх Карпатських канікул минулого року, а поки не побачила ту адресу жодних асоціацій з тим місцем не було, хоча "Ципа" - це їхня торгова марка  і надзвичайно нетипова назва для пива; наступного дня після відвідування броварні, ми святкували сходження на Говерлу саме одним з видів пива "Ципи". З того моменту ланч смакував вдвічі ліпше, адже чудові спогади покращують апетит :-)

Dark Blue Twin Set (Top)

Last Saturday was the day of not-happened things - no walk, no eating out, no socializing with some friend. Entire dullness and greyness of the weather (I do need at least a little sun!)... Once I told that such days end in the same way for me - with much hope, in the beginning, to have enough rest, the weekend is over with much regretting about wasted time. So it was good I had a cut twin set on my table to start and finish the work in two days. So the time was devoted to sewing the match for my nice tartan skirt.

Темно синя двійка  (топ)

Минула субота стала днем того, що не трапилося - жодних прогулянок, жодних ланчів поза домом, жодного спілкування з друзями. Цілковита сірість і нудьга від погоди (мені так потрібно хоч трохи сонця!)... Якось я вже розповідала, що такі дні завжди закінчуються для мене однаково: з великими сподіваннями на відпочинок на початку і великим жалем за змарнованим часом на закінчення вихідних. Тому добре було мати на моєму столі покроєну трикотажну двійку якраз на два дні роботи. Отже час було присвячено пошиттю пари для моєї гарної картатої спідниці.

The most outstanding feature of this top is that I could cut the twin set of 1.80 m x 150 cm of the fabric :-) The pattern of the top itself is #130 from an old issue Burda 11/2004, I like it slight fitting and short either sleeves or wings. I used to sew a skirt 122 from that issue, actually I still have it and maybe it will match the top as well. 

The jewellery was made especially for this outfit.

Найвидатнішою особливістю цього топа є той факт, що мені вдалося викроїти двійку з 1.80 м x 150 cm тканини :-) Модель самого топу №130 зі старого числа Burda 11/2004, мені подобається його легке прилягання і коротеньки чи то рукава чи то крильця. Я колись шила спідницю 122 з цього самого числа журналу, вона в мене і досі є, може навіть топ і пасуватиме до неї.

Набір прикрас був зроблений саме для цього вбрання.

The top was being made pretty quickly. A tiny tip as for the collar. As it is cut as a stripe of a fabric, it is worth steaming it to get the curve shape before stitching the short ends for the best fitting around the neck.

Топ ш'ється доволі швидко. Невеличка порада щодо коміра. Оскільки він кроїться як стрічка тканини, варто відпарити його перед стачуванням коротких кінців, щоб надати вигнути форму для кращого прилягання навколо шиї.

To process the armholes I just bend twice and stitched the seam allowance along them.

Щоб обробити зрізи пройм, просто підвернула припуск і настрочила подвійною підгинкою.
