Sweetheart Neckline Dress, or Dreaming :-)

At last I feel relaxed... it is surely the best state when being on vacation... No hurry, no planning, no much thinking, no more pangs of remorse for being lazy and even no more sewing for awhile :-)
Instead I am ready for some dreaming. It often happens to me that I imagine the process itself much better than its content. I mean the dreaming for me means to lie on my back in the grass or on the bench in the yard, watch the clouds into the sky and guess what their shapes are. If at this moment you ask me what I am thinking about, hardly you hear any intelligible answer :-)
Ideal places for dreaming are also gardens and parks where you can wander slowly or open terraces of cafes, from which you can watch after passing by people.  Thoughts are also slow and lazy at these moments and again you cannot answer the question what is on your mind. Today was right such a day to dream. Me and my friend went to a cafe to enjoy the idleness but dreaming was cancelled as most of time, while having some dessert, we were watching after the darkening sky and gathering clouds and listening to the approaching thunderstorm and were trying to guess if we had enough time to get home before it started raining or it is better to stay where we were until the rain stopped... I must confess "misfortune was our lot" and both of us were caught by the rain while running homes :-)

Сукня з вирізом "сердечко", або Занурення у мрії

Нарешті почуваюся розслабленою... для відпустки це вже напевно найкращий стан... Жодного поспіху, жодних планувань та роздумів, жодних докорів сумління через лінощі і навіть ніякого шиття... поки що :-)
Натомість я готова трохи помріяти. Часто трапляється, що я краще уявляю сам процес ніж його зміст. Маю на увазі, що мріяти для мене - це лежати горілиць у траві або на лежаку на подвір'ї, спостерігати за хмарами і вгадувати що означають їхні силуети. Якщо в цей момент запитати, про що я думаю, навряд чи отримаєш якусь зрозумілу відповідь :-)
Ідеальні місця для мрій також сади і парки або відкриті тераси кафе, з яких можна спостерігати за людьми, що проходять повз.  Мислення також повільне і ліниве в цей час і важко відповісти, що у тебе на думці. Сьогодні якраз був гарний день щоб помріяти. Ми з подругою пішли до кафе побайдикувати, але занурення у мрії було скасоване, тому що ми переважно спостерігали за небом, яке бундючилося з кожною секундою від темних хмар та прислухалися до грому, який так само невідворотно наближався та гадали, чи встигнемо добігти додому поки дощ не почався чи краще перечекати його на місці... Маю зізнатися нам не пощастило і по дорозі додому нас обох застигла злива :-)

For such a dreamy mood the best outfit is a light blue dress made by the pattern #107 from Burda 5/2018. The issue was bought because of this dress and I am very glad with the my choice.



Для такого мрійливого настрою найкраще вбрання - світло-блакитна сукня пошита за моделлю 107 з Burda 5/2018. Число було куплене через цю сукню і я дуже задоволена своїм вибором.

This set of the jewelry was made specially for this dress and it matched :-)



Цей набір прикрас був зроблений спеціально до цієї сукні і він підійшов :-)

I changed nothing but refused from lining and processed all the neck hole with the facing.

Я нічого не міняла, лише відмовилася від підкладки і всю горловину обробила обшивкою.

To reinforce the slit's edges I used adhesive stripe. when pressing it to the fabric, the edges should be gathered a little. It will prevent the slit from much opening when wearing the dress.




Для зміцнення розрізу я використала клейову стрічку. Коли припрасовуєш її до тканини, краї розрізу варто трохи припосадити. Це, до певної міри, завадить їм розходитися під час носіння сукні.

The arm holes were processed with bias tapes.



Зрізи пройм оброблені косими смужками.

Crocheted Hat... Mad Hatter Style :-)

After giving the name to my new hat I actually have not much to add :-)
Time after time I experiment with crochet hats especially with summer ones. You can see my previous projects and links to the patterns in this post. The last hat was so good that I couldn't think any other pattern would be as successful. But time passed... as my sister-in-law says, even if you like things they just become old and you just want new. It is the case I guess. Besides, any crochet hat, from my experience, looses its initial glamour in a year or two because of much wearing and washing. Besides, there are so many patterns to try and the crocheting takes so little time that it would be pretty silly to refuse from making a new hat ... but only if you are sure it suits you, of course :-) And, maybe the most important, nothing is eternal... and when it goes about summer crochet hat it is twice true :-)

Капелюх гачком... Стиль Божевільного Капелюшника :-)

Вигадавши назву для мого нового капелюха, мені вже особливо немає чого і додати :-)
Часом я експериментую з плетеними гачком літніми капелюхами. Мої попередні проекти і посилання на моделі можна побачити в цьому дописі. Останній капелюх був таким гарним, що мені і на думку не спадало, що якась інша модель може бути такою  ж вдалою. Але час спливає... як каже моя братова, навіть якщо тобі речі і подобаються, вони все одно старішають і ти просто хочеш нові. Це якраз такий випадок. Крім того, будь який плетений капелюх, з мого досвіду, втрачає свій товарний вид за рік чи два через інтенсивне носіння та прання. Крім того, існує стільки моделей на пробу, а плетіння займає так мало часу, що було б по-дурному відмовляти собі у створенні нового капелюху... але, звісно, якщо впевнена що він тобі пасуватиме :-) І, можливо, найголовніше, нічого вічного немає... а коли йдеться про плетений гачком капелюх - це двічі правда :-)

This time I chose this pattern from Pierrot   I found on the Ravelry. 
I had different yarn. The yarn put me into doubts because it is 100% polypropylene so after crocheting half of the hat I thought to wear it could be the same as to wear a plastic bag on the head. Then I spent some time in the Internet trying to find out if anybody but me had ever crocheted hats of this yarn. There were only bags and rugs and none of the hat but in one post I saw the word mentioned so took the situation under the control and went on my work:-) 
My gauge is also different so I just crocheted by the charts and drawings. To make the hat keep the shape while crocheting the last row of the brim I added narrow regiline.

Цього разу я обрала цю модель від Pierrot, яку знайшла на Ravelry.
Пряжа у мене була інша. І вона посіяла у мене сумніви, тому що це 100 % поліпропілен, отже зав'язавши  половину капелюху, я подумала, що носити його буде те саме, що вдягати на голову пластиковий пакет. Потім провела трохи часу в Інтернеті, щоб з'ясувати чи хтось у світі крім мене плете капелюхи з такої пряжі. Там були лише килимки та сумки і жодного капелюху, але в одному з дописів згадувалося саме слово  тож я взяла ситуацію під контроль і продовжила роботу :-)
Щільність плетіння у мене теж була інша, тому я просто плела за схемами. Щоб капелюх тримав форму, під час плетіння останнього ряду крисів додала тонкий регілін.

Crocuses' Time Necklace

I liked my "crocus" motif enough not to postpone beading of the necklace to pair:-) And here it is. The beading took two evenings: the first to make three more motifs by the sample of the earrings and the second - to join the elements to get necklace.

I liked my work very much. The necklace is very airy and delicate. Sometimes, it looks, needle craft not only expresses the inside world, mood and character of the creator... it seems it also can reveal the lack of what we feel...

Намисто "Час крокусів"

Мій мотив "крокус" сподобався мені достатньо для того, щоб не відкладати виготовлення намиста до пари :-) Тож ось воно на мені. На плетіння пішло два вечори: перший на виготовлення ще трьох мотивів за зразком сережок, другий - на зшивання елементів, щоб отримати намисто.

Мені дуже подобається моя робота. Намисто вийшло якесь.. ефірне і тендітне. Іноді, здається, рукотвори виражають не лише внутрішній світ, настрій і характер автора, схоже, що вони можуть виявити те, брак чого ми відчуваємо...

At first I arranged the materials in what I want Ito get then joined three motifs. It was the time of experiments :-)

Спочатку розташувала матеріали у те,що я хочу отримати і з'єднала мотиви. Це був час експериментів :-) 

Then to add the rest of the oval beads I worked with two needle. I don't like that, don't do it often so my skill in that is pretty modest and so the beading went slow here.

For the clasp I used the same bead as a bar and a part of the seed beads "tail" locked in the loop.

Щоб додати решту овальних намистин, працювала двома голками. Я це не люблю, не роблю часто і тому мої навички в цьому дуже скромні, отже тут робота йшла повільно.

Для застібки я використала таку саму намистину для поперечки і  частину бісерного "хвостику" замкнула в петлю. 

Crocuses' Time Earrings

When it goes about remaking new clothes from old ones, I am the person who hates that. I only can do it on some very essential reason: for example, if I need a piece of fabric for trimming or if my relatives ask me for some remnants to sew something for their children and so on... But to remake some item of clothes because it became small to wear is not my cup of tea absolutely. When it goes about beading, the situation is opposite. Using the beads from my first projects, because they are not in use or because my skills developed and I have new ideas but don't want to buy any new materials, is a very good deal :-)

Сережки "Час крокусів"

Коли йдеться про пошиття нового одягу зі старого, я людина, яка це, лагідно кажучи, не любить. Я можу цим займатися лише з якоїсь нагальної потреби: наприклад, якщо мені потрібен шматок тканини для оздоблення, або хтось з родичів питається про якісь залишки, щоб пошити щось дітям і таке інше... Але перешивати вбрання через те, що воно на мене стало малим - це точно не моє. Коли йдеться про виготовлення прикрас, все навпаки. Використання намистин зі старих виробів, які ніхто не носить або я їх переросла у сенсі своїх навичок і у мене для них є нові ідеї, а купувати нові матеріали я не хочу - це те, що треба :-)

Today's earrings is such a project. I used to bead a set, Crocuses Time, made up with earrings and a necklace. For that moment it was not bad but the other days I thought I needed something new in that colour style. So the set was doomed to be reused. At first I made new earrings. I named them in the same way not to forget about my old experience.

Сьогоднішні сережки - це якраз такий проект. Колись я сплела набір, "Час крокусів", з намиста і сережок. Для того часу він був непоганий, але днями я подумала, що мені потрібно щось новеньке в тій самій кольоровій гамі. Тож набір був приречений до переробки. Спочатку я зробила сережки. Назву залишила, щоб не забувати про старий досвід.

The beading is quite quick. The seed beads were replaced as those old ones changed their colour during these years. The technique is simple but the number of the seed beads and proportions are individual and depend on the size of the central bead.

Нанизування доволі швидке. Бісер було замінено на новий, тому що попередній за ці роки змінив свій колір. Принцип виготовлення простий, але кількість бісерин і пропорції - індивідуальні і залежать від розміру центральної намистини.

I tried to make detailed photos. The rondeles are 3x4 mm.

Фото намагалася зробити докладні. Ронделі 3х4 мм.

As the result I've got an oval element.  One or two of them can be used for earrings, few of them can be connected into the necklace.

В результаті у мене вийшов овальний елемент. Один або два таких елементів можна використати для сережок, декілька - з'єднати у намисто.

V-neck Dress, or Walk in the Shadow

So the vacation is going on and after its first phase the second one gains momentum :-)
The first phase is the first few weeks that mostly remind a long weekend, I look for silence, calmness and rest. The second phase is a very dangerous stage. It looks like a state of a fever. I feel as if infected by the feeling of quickly shortening time of the vacation. It means that instead of enjoying leisure time I'm mostly focusing on the thought about me being too lazy and not productive enough, that I waste my time not doing all what I must for... for... what for? I am on holidays, I have no duties but home routine... that's all! It is the right time to stop reproducing worries, inventing botheration, counting days and planned projects. This phase shouldn't be let continue long not to poison the vacation. When I realise this situation, the best way to get rid of this mood is to spend a day outside. It doesn't the matter in what way... just to wander about the city, to chat with a friend, to hang around stores without any purchasing or to drink some wine and eat a piece of a cake in a nice cafe in the shadow of the trees... In the end of such a day there is a chance to have clear mind... at least for awhile :-)

How could I not to go walking after getting such a nice outcome ? :-)

Сукня з вирізом мисом, або Прогулянка у затінку

Отже, відпустка триває і після її першої фази, набирає обороти друга.
Перша фаза - перші декілька тижнів - більше нагадує довгі вихідні, я шукаю тиші, спокою і відпочинку. Друга фаза - небезпечний період. Схоже на стан лихоманки. Почуваюся наче інфікована вірусом швидкого скорочення відпустки. Це означає, що замість насолоджуватися вільним часом, я переважно концентруюся на думках про те, що занадто лінива і марную свій час не виконуючи того що маю робити для того щоб... щоб... для чого? Я у відпустці і єдині обов'язки які у мене є - це щоденні хатні справи! І саме час  припинити вигадувати собі все нові і нові причини для хвилювання, рахувати дні і планувати проекти. Цій фазі не можна дозволяти довго тривати, щоб не отруїла відпустки.  Коли я усвідомлюю все це, найкращий спосіб позбутися такого настрою - провести день подалі від хати. Не має значення як... просто поблукати містом, побазікати з подругою, полиндати по крамницях, нічого не купуючи, або випити трохи вина та посмакувати тістечком в затишному кафе в тіні дерев... Є шанс, що наприкінці такого дня в голові проясниться... хоч ненадовго :-)

Як же я могла не піти на прогулянку, отримавши такий гарний результат ? :-)

For the walk I, of course, made a dress:-) Or, to be exact, after making the dress I had to get some walk :-)
I chose pattern #107 from Burda 12/2017. I liked the model from the first sight and was sure I would make it.  Mostly at once I decided to make it as summer apparel.
My item is sewed of very thin and light batiste.
I must confess I wasn't ready for the sewing. I mean I didn't think over the process beforehand and all the modifications were invented during the sewing so I changed the horses on the way and it led to often unpicking and remaking. And after finishing the work I also thought I had to do some details in different way. But as I like what I got very much, of course, I will change nothing anyway.

Для прогулянки я, звісно, пошила сукню :-) або, якщо бути точною, після пошиття сукні я мала прогулятися :-)
Обрала модель 107 з Burda 12/2017. Мені модель одразу сподобалася і була певна, що шитиму її і так само майже одразу вирішила, що це буде літнє вбрання.
Сукню пошито з дуже тонкого і легкого батисту.
Маю зізнатися, що не підготувалася до пошиття. Маю на увазі, що не продумала процес заздалегідь і всі зміни вигадала під час пошиття, тобто, коней міняла вже по дорозі, і це привело до того, що пороти і перешивати довелося немало. По закінченню роботи я знову подумала, що деякі деталі варто було зробити в інший спосіб, але оскільки мені дуже подобається те, що у мене вийшло, перероблятися вже нічого не буде.

I omitted the bow. The skirt was cut as 4-gored. In this way it is flared evenly. As the fabric is pretty dark and motley, I added some bright accent along the neck hole and the sleeves' hem.

Від банта я відмовилася. Спідницю покроєно як чотириклиневу. У такий спосіб фалди по низу розташовуються рівномірно. Оскільки тканина доволі темна і строката, додала яскравий акцент вздовж вирізу горловину та по низу рукавів.

At first the parts of the skirt were sewed to the parts of the bodice, then I sewed the neck hole plackets.





Спочатку частини спідниці були пришиті до частин верху, потім я пришила планки горловини.

After  that the front centre seam was stitched. At first the skirt and the low placket on by the wrong side and then from the corner the upper placket.


Після цього передній середній шов було прострочено. спочатку спідниця і нижня планка з виворітної сторони, потім, від кута, верхня планка.

After that the bias tape was bend with the desirable width for trimming over the edge of the upper placket  and stitched to the bodice.


Після цього косу стрічку було перегнуто на виворітну сторону залишаючи бажану ширину для оздоблення та настрочено на сукню.

The sleeves were shortened to the 40 cm. To processed the hems I used  details #6 but they had to be lengthened.



Рукава я вкоротила до 40 см. Щоб обробити низ рукавів, використала деталі №6, але подовжила їх.

Then the sleeves' hem are finished with the bias tape in the same way as the neck hole.


Потім низ рукавів обробляється косою стрічкою так само, як і виріз горловини.

CRAW Sticks Bracelet, or Eat Them and Die :-)

In our language reality there is poem for adults, who like to feel sorry for themselves on any reason but especially on their loneliness. The poem is not a masterpiece at all but is quite sarcastic and, in fact, is a kind of mockery to tease the complainer. It also can be performed as a song, too. Without saving its poetic form it sounds in about the following way: 

Nobody loves me,

Nobody cuddles me,

I'll go to the garden

And eat some worms.

They are so nice and colourful,

I'll eat them and die.

Why I remember it? Because when I made many colourful sticks, they reminded me many worms (the photo is below) which can be colourful only in that poem :-)

The pattern of the bracelet is by Jill Wiseman from Beadwork magazine June/July 2013. I also think it is a good stash booster, at least for me, because I used the remnants of 8/0 and 3x cut beads instead of Jill's bicones and pearls. The bracelet won my adherence because of the effect achieved with simple materials and technique.

Браслет "Кольорові черв'ячки"

"Піду собі в садочок, наїмся черв'ячків" - було перше, що мені спало на думку, коли я наплела цілу тарілку паличок в техніці  CRAW. Щоб не думати, що я трохи сказилася, я запитала у мами, що їй нагадують ці елементи. Вона сказала, що те саме... тільки не віршик, а самих черв'ячків :-)

Модель браслету від  Jill Wiseman з журналу Beadwork  June/July 2013. Він отримав мою прихильність завдяки тому, що ефект досягається тут простими матеріалами і технікою. Оскільки замість біконусів і перлин, я використала 8/0 бісер і 3х рубку, то це добре підчистило залишки такого бісеру. 

I also think the braclet can be beaded just by the photo of the ready item if one has enough skills in the CRAW technique. 

Як на мене, щоб сплести такий браслет, достатньо навичок плетіння  CRAW і фото готового виробу.

Melting Heart Earrings & Pendant

A heart (as an image, of course!) can be warm, cold, open, generous, bleeding, brave, loving... The list can be continued... But my today's heart, I mean the heart I made, is melting :-) I just couldn't find better definition for its idea on such a hot day.

Сережки і кулон "Серце, що тане"

Серце (як образ, звісно!) може бути холодним, щирим, відданим, хоробрим, люблячим, воно може стікати кров'ю і  бути сповненим тепла... Перелік можна продовжити... Але сьогодні моє серце, тобто те, яке я зробила, таке що тане :-) Я просто не змогла знайти кращого означення для цього образу в такий спекотний день.

I have enough red earrings. Despite I try to make some new jewelry to embellish almost every of my outfits, some of the items match several apparels. But I like the cases when I can experiment. This time I bezeled a heart shaped rivoli. The work was started from the Internet videos watching and sites reading but, as it happens pretty often, I had to track my own way :-)

I decided to bezel the rvoli with the help of embroidering. After few times of failing of tracing the rivoli right on the fabric I sewed the piece of paper with the drawing of heart to it and beaded the first row of the bezeling right through the paper. 3 cut beads (3x), 10/0 and one 15/0 seed bead were used. After the first row was ready I removed the paper, beaded one more row of 3x and then one row of 10/0, it is shown with white spots on the bottom photo.

У мене достатньо червоних сережок. Хоча я і намагаюся виготовляти біжутерію майже до кожного вбрання, багато чого пасує до різних предметів одягу. Але мені подобається, коли можна експериментувати. Цього разу я обплела ріволі у формі серця. Робота почалася з перегляду відео та читання порад в Інтернеті, але зрештою, як це часто трапляється, довелося торувати власний шлях:-)

Вирішила обплетати ріволі вишиванням. Змучившись з обведенням ріволі прямо на тканині, я пришила на ту тканину клаптик паперу з обведеним сердечком і перший ряд бісеру нашила прямо через папір. Працювала рубкою 3 cut (3х), бісером 10/0 і однією бісериною 15/0. Потім папір витягнула, прошила ще один ряд рубкою, потім один ряд 10/0, на нижньому фото показано білими крапками.

Then the work goes by the usual steps. Cut out the rivoli, glue them on the pieces of leather and cut out again when it is dry.

Потім робота триває по звичайній схемі. Вирізаємо ріволі, наклеюємо на клаптик шкіри і знову вирізаємо, коли висохне.

Next step is to process the edge of the rivoli (nothing new is here, too). I did it with usual plain blanket stitch but with adding two seed beads every time when the needle goes through the leather on the wrong side. First rivoli was finished with grey seed beads but when it was ready, I understood I wanted mono coloured small shape so it was remade.

Наступний крок обробка краю ріволі (тут теж нічого нового). Я це зробила звичайним обметувальним (або петельним) стібком з додаванням двох бісерин після кожного проколу шкіри зі зворотнього боку. Спочатку обплетення було закінчено сірим бісером, але потім я зрозуміла, що хочу монохромну маленьку форму, тому перший варіант переробила.

Belted Sport Dress, or At the Pier

It looks I will get the whole set of posts about my possible activities during the holidays that, fortunately, go on :-) After the first day of rest I think it would be not bad to study the coast at that imagined destination. As I tell about my vacation habits, it is impossible not to spend few days at the sea shores. Even if I don't go to the sea, I can dream about it absolutely greatly :-)
I am that very person who is easily captured with the ideas of sea theme in the clothes. Although I don't remember if I really ever needed or wore it. When I was a kid and my uncle took us, his children and me, on the board of his small yacht, our age supposed the wearing of swimming suits and hats only. While growing old I became more careful with the sun but it didn't changed much the wardrobe for such occasions:-) Nevertheless sea landscapes and the views of sails can't but infect me with a real marine fever that (this time!) only could be treat with a  sewing of a new dress united white and blue colours, stripe print and a loose silhouette.
In fact, me and my friend just spent time at our Southern Buh river bank but it didn't lessen the enjoyment at all. On the contrary. And the perfect atmosphere was provided by a sunny day, the blue sky, pleasant water and the training of our local Sailing and Rowing Club.

Спортивна сукня з паском, або Біля пірсу

Схоже на те, що зрештою у мене буде ціла колекція дописів про мій можливий відпочинок під час відпустки, яка, на щастя, триває :-) Після першого дня відпочинку думаю було б непогано дослідити узбережжя мого уявного місця знаходження. Оскільки я розповідаю про свої відпускні звички, то для мене неможливо не провести декілька днів на березі моря. Навіть якщо я на море не їду, я чудово вмію про це мріяти :-)
Я якраз та сама людина яку легко захопити морськими мотивами в одязі. Хоча я не пам'ятаю, щоб мені насправді такий одяг був потрібен або щоб я його носила. Як я була дитиною і мій дядько брав нас, своїх дітей і мене, на борт своєї маленької яхти, наш вік тоді не передбачав іншого одягу крім купальників та панамок. Поки дорослішала, моє ставлення до сонця ставало обережнішим, але на гардеробі для подібних випадків це ніяк не позначилося :-) Проте, морські пейзажі і вигляд вітрил не можуть не заражати мене справжньою морською лихоманкою, яку тільки і можна вилікувати (цього разу!) пошиттям нової сукні, яка поєднує синій і білий кольори, смужки і вільний силует.
Взагалі, ми з подругою просто провели час на березі нашого Південного Бугу, але це жодним чином не послабило задоволення. Якраз навпаки. А прекрасну атмосферу забезпечували сонячний день, блакитне небо, приємна вода і тренування нашого місцевого вітрильно-веслувального клубу.

This time in the choice of the pattern the fabric was a crucial aspect. Unless I liked these mono coloured and stripy companions, the dress #118 from Burda 4/2018 would have no chances to be made :-) At least by me, because, despite it is nice, it has the details I've endeavoured to avoid since my first skirt sewed when I was about twelve. The main of them - the pleated skirt bulging around the waist. But the thought about two combining fabrics persuaded me to give the pattern a try.



Цього разу вирішальне значення для вибору моделі мала тканина. Якби мені не сподобалися ці два компаньйони, однокольоровий та смугастий, у сукні 118 з Burda 4/2018 не було б жодного шансу бути пошитою :-) Принаймні мною, тому що, хоча вона і гарна, але має деталі, яких я вперто намагаюся уникати з часів моєї першої спідниці, пошитої у дванадцять років. І, найголовніша з них,  це - спідниця зі складками, яка випинається навколо талії. Але думка про тканини, що так гарно комбінуються переконала мене спробувати.

Of course, it is not the first skirt of the kind I had to modified. Even here, in the blog, I've already told how to change it. But this time I used jersey and the dress has no fitting on the waist line so the outcome could be (and it is!) different.
The first thing to do with such a skirt is to stitch the pleats to the hips line. In this case I draw that line for 17 cm down from the waist and draw the pleats. Not to waste time for counting the pleats, the paper pattern can be used. Then measured the width of the skirt without pleats, here it is 23.5 cm. I doubled it and added 1 cm. Then we need our hips measure, I have 106 cm + 2 cm for loose - 108 cm; the half is 54. Now 54 - 48 is 6 cm. It means I have to remove 6 cm of extra fabric on the hips line. Divided for 4 pleats, it is 1.5 cm for every pleat - it means 0.7 cm for every side of every pleat. I also wanted to omit those triangles on the skirt sides, and it would be right, I regret I didn't do that because they just add volume to the hips. The pockets in the side seams were omitted at once as well as the zipper.

Звісно, це не перша така спідниця, яку я модифікувала. Навіть тут, у блозі, я вже розповідала, як це змінити. Але цього разу я працювала з трикотажем і сукня не має прилягання по талії, тому результат міг бути (і виявився!) іншим.
Перше, що треба зробити в такій спідниці - застрочити складки до лінії стегон. в цьому випадку я накреслила цю лінію на 17 см вниз від лінії талії і накреслила складки. Щоб не марнувати часу на розрахунки, можна просто прикласти паперову викрійку. Потім виміряємо ширину спідниці без складок, тут це 23,5 см. Подвоїла і додала ще один. Тепер потрібний об'єм стегон,  у мене 106 + 2 на свободу облягання; половина - 54. 54 - 48 = 6 см. Це означає, що мені треба прибрати 6 см зайвої тканини по лінії стегон. Поділені на 4 складки, маємо 1,5 см для кожної, тобто, для кожної сторони кожної складки - по 0,7 см.  Я також хотіла відмовитися від тих трикутників на боках, і це було б правильно, жалкую, що цього не зробила, тому що вони лише додають до стегон зайвого об'єму. Кишені в бокових швах навіть не обговорювалисяся, так само і "блискавка".

Next modification - the back of the dress. I decided to decrease the deepness of the neck hole, change the neck line and cut the back placket as a single piece with the detail  #25.



Наступна зміна - спинка сукні. Вирішила зменшити глибину вирізу, змінити лінію вирізу і покроїти планку плеча спинки як одну деталь разом з основною деталлю спинки.

According to this change I cut the facing instead of the plackets to process the back's shoulder edges.


Відповідно до цих змін покроїла обшивку замість планок для обробки плечових зрізів спинки.

The front plackets are made by the magazine's instruction.
I liked the idea with the snaps but I wanted them only on the shoulders and only with white caps as I didn't want the dress to look too sportive. Finally, it is not for playing golf :-) In our nearest hobby store they didn't have them and I wasn't sure they are in any store at all. So I just sewed the buttons as  decor.

Мені сподобалася ідея з кнопками, але я хотіла щоб вони були лише на плечах і лише з білими голівками оскільки не хотіла, щоб сукня виглядала аж надто спортивною. Зрештою, вона не для гри в гольф :-) В нашій найближчий крамниці рукотврів такого добра немає і я не впевнена, що взагалі десь є, тому просто пришила білі ґудзики як декор.

One more important detail - the belt. It was determined at once to be extra decor for the dress and of the full length. I joined together two bands to get a nice width and firm texture.
If you pay attention to the photos, it is clear that despite all my advises, I stitched the pleats (for 10 cm) only on the next day of the wearing the dress. I don't like the absence of the waist fitting although now I can just tighten the belt. The outfit is very comfortable and, оn the whole, I like it despite I understand that what didn't suit me when I was 12 as well doesn't suit me when I am 48. So next time the skirt's modification must be more critical :-)



Ще одна важлива деталь - пасок. Одразу було вирішено, що він має додатково прикрашати сукню і бути повної довжини Я з'єднала дві тасьми, що дало гарну ширину і жорстку структуру.
Якщо звернути увагу на фото, можна помітити, що, незважаючи на всі мої поради, сама я застрочила складки (на 10 см) на наступний день носіння сукні. Мені не подобається відсутність облягання по талії, але зараз його можна досягнути просто затягнувши пасок. Вбрання дуже комфортне і, в цілому, мені подобається хоча я і розумію, що те, що не пасувало мені в 12 років, так само не пасує і в 48. Тому наступного разу зміни в крої такої спідниці мають бути ще відчутніші :-)

Kheops Beads Set

The kind of the projects I like a lot. Quick, simple and made of the materials that I had in stash. The set was made as an accessory to a dress so it is even strange that I've got some new experience while making it.

I mean, here I used kheops beads first time. I used to bought them on occasion but for a certain project, however, when starting the work it turned out that in 5 g of the beads (34 beads) there were at least 4 defective ones. On that reason I had to put them aside for indefinite time. 

Suddenly the other days I needed to create something in white colours. My kheopses served well. 

The final product mostly reminds snowflakes (which are not very summer pieces) but it doesn't the matter, I like them anyway :-)

Набір з намистин Kheops

Один з проектів, які  мені страшенно подобаються. Простий, швидкий і виготовлений з матеріалів, які у мене були в запасі. Набір був створений як доповнення до нової сукні, тому навіть дивно, що у мене з'явися новий досвід поки я над ним працювала.

Маю на увазі, тут вперше використані намистини kheops. Я купила їх колись випадково, але для певного проекту, проте, коли почала роботу, в 5 г намистин (34 штуки) щонайменше 4 виявилися бракованими. Тож довелося відкласти їх на невизначений термін.

І раптом декілька днів тому мені знадобилося зробити дещо в білих кольорах. Хеопси добре послужили. 

Кінцевий продукт, правда,  переважно нагадує не дуже доречні серед літа сніжинки але це не має значення, бо мені все одно подобаються :-)

The motif made by this tutorial  from Erika. I followed it with two differences. To bazel the back of the rivoli I used twins and instead of the bugles I used the arches of three 15.0 seed beads.

Мотив виготовлено за цим майстер класом від Erika. Все робила за інструкцією з двома відмінностями. Для обплетення задньої частини ріволі використала твіни і замість стеклірусу нанизала арки з трьох бісерин 15.0.
