Icicles Earrings

Today's post continues the 4 previous ones as the items are made of the same stash of materials. But I thought that these earrings remind a snowflake about as much as I do so it is worth finding other name for them.. or not... but nevertheless I remembered another winter object which can be nice enough if to make it of beads:-) 

Сережки "Бурульки" 

Сьогоднішній допис продовжує попередні чотири, оскільки речі зроблені з того самого запасу матеріалів. Але я подумала, що ці сережки нагадують сніжинку приблизно так само як і я, тому варто вигадати для них іншу назву... а може і ні... тим не менш я згадала ще один зимовий об'єкт, який може доволі гарно виглядати, якщо зробити його з намистин :-) 

The process of creating is simple. Select and collect the materials. Compose the elements and then join them together. And here they are. 

Процес створення простий. Обираємо і збираємо матеріали. Збираємо елементи і потім їх з'єднуємо до купи. Ось і все.

Snowflake Rope III

The third rope is, in fact, two ropes. For the mentioned in the previous posts set I wanted the  third necklace not less than 160 cm length but decided to divide it for two parts: a short one - of a choker length - and a longer one. I made in that way because when wrapping so long single thread around the neck, I feel uncomfortable as the got loop  tightens too much. 

Намисто "Сніжинка" ІІІ 

Третя низка, насправді, це два намиста. Для згаданого в попередніх дописах набору третє намисто я хотіла зробити довжиною не менше 160 см, але вирішила поділити його на два: коротке, на довжину чокера, та довге. Я так вчинила тому, що коли обертаю навколо шиї таку довгу низку, почуваюся некомфортно через те що утворена петля занадто тисне. 

But, of course, making two parts caused their different stringing patterns. 

Але, звісно, оскільки робила дві частини, це стало гарною нагодою спробувати різні порядки нанизування.

Snowflake Rope II

The second necklace of the Snowflake Ropes Set matching whatever including the pendant :-) This one is simple, too. It is made of chain with big links and not less big crystals. 

Намисто "Сніжинка" ІІ 

Друга частина зі "сніжинкового" набору намист, яка пасує до будь чого включно з кулоном :-) Намисто теж просте, зроблене з ланцюжка з великими ланками і не менш великих кристалів. 

This chain has stayed in my stash for years. I used to buy it to make a necklace with chains and crocheted rows (like here) but then lost interest. And I am very glad at that:-) Because what I did with it this time I like much better. 

Цей ланцюжок залишався у мене в запасах роками. Колись купувала його, щоб зробити намисто з ланцюга та плетених гачком рядків (приблизно таке), але потім втратила інтерес. І дуже з того рада, бо те, що створила зараз мені більш до вподоби:-)

Snowflake Rope I

Some people are very lucky to have 12 days of Christmas  and some, those like me, have 3 days of Snowflake Ropes :-) Actually, I have already made all three of them but will post one by one. It was mentioned that the whole bunch of ropes was planned to make a set. I started with the simple one for Snowflake pendant. 

Намисто "Сніжинка" І

Деяким людям дуже щастить і вони мають "12 днів Різдва", а деякі, такі як я, мають три дні "Сніжинкових" низок :-) Насправді я вже зробила всі три, але буду розміщувати по одній. Вже згадувалося, що планувалося декілька низок намист, щоб утворився набір. Розпочала з простої низки до кулону "Сніжинка". 

As I had more than enough rice beads, I decided just to string them alternating with 10.0 Czech seed beads. Galvanized Czech beads (at least in affordable for me price category) loose their covering  while wearing the jewelry but comparing with current world problems it is not an issue at all. So I used them with pleasure. 

Оскільки намистин рис у мене було більше ніж достатньо, вирішила просто нанизати їх чергуючи з бісером 10.0. Гальванізований чеський бісер (принаймні в ціновій категорії, яку я можу собі дозволити) дуже швидко втрачає покриття під час носіння прикрас, але в порівнянні з поточними світовими проблемами, це взагалі не питання, тож я його із задоволенням використала.

Snowflake Pendant

 

Yesterday I finished a new dress and it urgently required some bulgy decorations. The first of them was born yesterday night so it also could be named a Christmas star:-) It is a Snowflake pendant. The further ones will be, or are planned to be, a bunch of different ropes to complement both the dress and each other. 

Кулон "Сніжинка" 

Вчора закінчила нову сукню і вона конче потребувала якихось помітних прикрас і побільше:-) Перша з них народилася вчора ввечері, тож можна і "Різдвяною зіркою" назвати. Це кулон "Сніжинка". Наступні прикраси будуть, чи то плануються, декілька низок щоб пасували і до сукні і одна до одної. 

Having in mind the dress's fabric and my figure I was sure I would make jewelry so bought a lot of materials more than a month before so had enough to choose for this project. 

Маючи на думці тканину до сукні і мою фігуру, я була певна, що робитиму прикраси, тож матеріалів купила багато більше ніж місяць тому і мала, з чого обирати. 

The pattern for the pendant I found among YouTube tutorials but used different materials. As I had not enough firepolished beads, I decided to try the pattern with 5x7 mm rice beads. It worked. I didn't have enough bicones either, besides, to use them for the back of the pendant is wasting of materials, what is not affordable for me, and anyway different materials needed certain adjustment of the pattern so I followed the tutorial until this stage (photo 3). 

Зразок кулону знайшла серед майстер класів на YouTube, але матеріали інші. У мене не було достатньо firepolished намистин , тож спробувала модель на рисі 5х7 мм. Спрацювало. Також у мене не було достатньо біконусів, до того ж їхнє використання для зворотної сторони кулону - марнування матеріалів, яке я не можу собі дозволити, та і в будь якому разі, зміна матеріалів потребувала змін у плетінні, отже за майстер класом слідувала до цього етапу (фото 3). 

Then I added two 10.0 seed beads (Czech) between the two ones of the base. Then added arches of 10.0, rice, 10.0, bicone, 10.0, rice, 10.0 over the two rice beads of the base. The loop for the bail is beaded with 10.0. I passed with the tread not less than 5 times through this loop  and it is quite stiff so for the more "snowflake" look, the same loops could be added above every bicone. I didn't do that but it is a good idea. 

Потім між бісеринами 10.0 (чех) основи додала ще по дві бісерини. Потім додала арки з 10.0, рис, 10.0, біконус, 10.0, рис, 10.0 над двома намистинами рис основи. Петлю для бейлу зроблено з бісеру. Через цю петлю прошила ниткою не менше 5 разів і вона доволі жорстка, тож для більш "сніжинкового" вигляду такі петлі можна було додати над кожним біконусом. Я цього не робила, але це гарна ідея. 

I wish the rest of the set would be made as quick as this piece:-) 

Хотілося б щоб решта набору зробилася так само швидко як ця частина:-)

Snowflake Brooch

Among all the brooches made by Charivna Myt's kits, this new one turned to be the simplest and quickest to make. It is also very light so will be good as accessory for a blouse. Besides, its quite small size lets wear a couple of them at once so I'd love to buy one more such a kit. The outcome surely made my spirit so bright that yesterday I started decorating the house for Christmas and New Year's celebrations. 

Брошка "Сніжинка" 

Серед усіх брошок, вишитих з наборів від "Чарівної миті" ця новенька виявилася найпростішою і найшвидшою для виготовлення. До того ж вона невагома і годиться як прикраса навіть для блузки. Її невеличкий розмір, приблизно 5 см в діаметрі,  заохочує надягати одразу дві подібних "сніжинки", тож я б із задоволенням купила ще один такий набір.  Результат мене дуже порадував і підштовхнув до початку прикрашання оселі до святкування Різдва та Нового року. 

The work was so quick that I only could take one photo of the process, the moment of the box opening:-) But it went in a usual way so was the same as in the previous brooches posts. All the materials are good but there were no extra blue rhombus beads and the longest bugles so if any of them had been of bad quality, I would have had none outcome at all. 

Робота була така швидка, що встигла зробити лише єдине фото процесу: момент відкриття коробки:-) Але все робилося у звичний спосіб, тобто так само як і попередніх дописах про подібні брошки. Всі матеріали були хороші, але додаткових ромбовидних блакитних намистин та найдовшого стеклярусу не було, тож, якби хоч щось з цього було бракованим, результату я б взагалі не отримала.

Split Flutter Sleeve Midi Dress, or Girl's Dream

 

It had never been before but happened again:-) It means I, finally, finished my last planned for this summer sewing dress.  Why it was so important for me to make in December the outfit which I won't wear until the future hot season is an unsolved mystery but it goes quite regularly in this way, in fact, every year with slight difference in the dates of completing the projects either in September, October or November and December, too. On the other hand, it can be considered as the first project of the next hot season as I have always dreamt about sewing light garment in cold time of year or, what is even further from the reality but not so bad at all, it can be an outfit for the imagined trip to warm countries in the middle of  winter. Generally, imagination played a crucial part in the choice of the model and, especially, fabric for this dress as well as the idea about a trip to distant lands. Once upon a time when I was a child and spent summer holidays at my aunt's, she, getting me and my cousin to sleep in the afternoon, suggested every of us to close eyes and imagine ourselves on the board of  a big white ship where a sea captain smiled and greeted us, took under hand and ... by this moment I had fallen asleep and never knew what would happen next. The beautiful dress was a must-have of the story, it had to be airy, fluffy and in pastel colours. I am not sure if I really remember me on that imagined board but when I saw this fabric, I recalled that afternoon habit at once and thought that it is meant to be for the dress from the girl's dream. 

Сукня міді з рукавами-крильцями, або Дівчача мрія 

Ніколи такого не було і знову трапилося:-) Маю на увазі, я нарешті закінчила останню заплановану для пошиття цього літа сукню. Чому для мене так важливо пошити у грудні вбрання, яке не надягатиму аж до спекотних днів майбутнього літа - незвідана таємниця, але таке трапляється доволі регулярно, насправді щороку, з невеличкою різницею в датах закінчення проектів чи то в вересні, жовтні, листопаді або і в грудні. З іншого боку, можна це вважати першим виробом наступного літа, адже я завжди мріяла шити літні речі взимку, або, що іще далі від реальності, але зовсім непогано, це може бути наряд для уявної подорожі до теплих країв посеред холодної пори. Загалом, уява зіграла вирішальну роль у виборі моделі і, особливо, тканини, для цієї сукні. Колись давно, як була дитиною і проводила літні канікули у своєї тітки, вона, вкладаючи нас із сестрою по обіді спати, пропонувала нам позаплющувати очі та уявити себе на великому білому лайнері, де б нас зустрічав усміхнений капітан, брав під руку і ...  до цього моменту я вже засинала і так ніколи і не дізналася, що було далі. Прекрасна сукня, легка, пишна і в пастельних кольорах, була невід'ємною частиною історії.  Не впевнена, чи я справді пам'ятаю себе на борту того уявного корабля, але, коли побачила цю тканину, одразу згадала той полуденний звичай і подумала, що вона призначена для сукні з дівочого сну. 

The dress #101 from Burda 2/2018 made me interested at once but I couldn't imagined what fabric I'd like to use for it until saw this rayon which print reminds the porcelain or Japanese fabric painting and smooth surface feels and looks like silk. And in this way it was a perfect match. 

The delicate Sugared Buds earrings match the dress very well. 

Сукня 101 з Burda 2/2018 одразу мене зацікавила, але я ніяк не могла уявити, з якої б тканини мені хотілося її пошити поки не побачила цю віскозу з візерунком який нагадує розпис на порцеляні або на японських тканинах, а його гладка та сяюча поверхня виглядає та відчувається на дотик наче шовк. І ось так вони склали ідеальну пару. 

Делікатні сережки "Зацукровані бруньки" дуже добре пасують до сукні.

The sewing is not for the fainthearted :-) Firstly, the cutting took me about 5 hours. Not depending on the way I put the drafts on the fabric, the print went to the sides and the main part of the details was occupied by white blanks, which are quite big here. So almost every detail of the item has own symmetry and how it looks in the ready outfit, I saw only when it was ready indeed. 

The buttons were ordered in a specialized workshop.

Пошиття не для слабкодухих:-) По-перше, кроїла сукню десь 5 годин. Яким би чином я не розкладала деталі на тканині, візерунок уходив на боки, а вся головна частина заповнювалася білими пустотами, які тут доволі великі. Тому майже кожна деталь має власну симетрію і як сукня виглядатиме в готовому вигляді, я побачила лише коли вона насправді була готова. 

Ґудзики замовила в спеціалізованій майстерні.

Secondly, the bias cut of the sleeves. It needs quite much effort at first to avoid the twisting of the sleeves' hem... 

По-друге - крій рукавів навскіс. Треба докласти зусиль, щоб спочатку уникнути перекручування підгинки низу рукава...

... and then to make the both of edges of the same length as they are stretching a lot, especially back parts which have no facing. 

The inner edge of the front facing I stitched to the sleeve up to the loops.

... а потім щоб зробити обидва їхні краї однакової довжини, оскільки вони дуже розтягуються, особливо задні половинки, які не мають обшивок. 

Внутрішні краї обшивок передніх половинок настрочила на рукави до петель. 

To avoid the bigger stretching  of the sleeves' backs, I basted their centre edge allowance with slight gathering on the wide plastic ruler. 

Щоб уникнути більшого розтягнення задніх половинок, заметувала їхній припуск на обробку вертикального краю на широкий пластиковій лінійці постійно потроху припосадюючи краї. 

The bias pipes are essential and very effective here. To make their sewing easier at first I stitched them to the outer details and then stitched together this details with the corresponding inner details in the same stitches. 

Канти тут дуже ефектні і суттєві. Щоб спростити їхнє пришивання, я спочатку пришила їх до зовнішніх деталей, а потім з'єднала з відповідними внутрішніми деталями в ті самі строчки. 

In the same way I joined the inserted waist band, the bodice and then skirt. The great advantage of such a band here is its processing as the single detail together with its inner part. 

Таким же чином з'єднала вшивний пояс, ліф і потім спідницю. Велика перевага такого поясу тут - те, що він обробляється як одна деталь з його внутрішньою частиною. 

Working on the skirt I followed the instruction, but it was not clear enough what to do with the side seams allowance so I made in this way. 

Спідницю шила за інструкцією, але було не зовсім зрозуміло, що робити з припусками на бокові шви, тож зробила як показано тут.
