Bias Cut Cotton Skirt

The time of light coordinated two-piece outfits came and this year I met it almost ready :-) I mean I cut such kind of an ensemble, consisting of a skirt and jacket, but up to now I've got only skirt made. Fortunately, the skirt is absolutely fabulous. It is sewed of dense, and a bit rough cotton sateen, fits perfectly and, obviously, I am more than delighted with the outcome. I do hope together with the jacket which I am planning to finish as quick as possible, or at least earlier than winter will be here, they will look as stunning as it looks with this simple Broiderie Anglaise Black Blouse, my last Chrysanthemum Brooch and Goldish Powder  jewellery set :-)

Бавовняна коса спідниця 

Настав сезон легких костюмчиків і цього разу я до нього майже підготувалася :-) Маю на увазі, що покроїла подібний ансамбль, але наразі маю лише готову спідницю. На щастя, спідниця абсолютно казкова. Вона пошита зі щільного, трохи цупкого бавовняного сатину, сидить ідеально і, вочевидь, я більш ніж задоволена результатом роботи. Сподіваюся, що з жакетом, який я планую закінчити найближчим часом, або, принаймні, до того як настане зима, вона виглядатиме так само приголомшливо як із цією простою чорною блузкою з прошви, моєю останньою брошкою "Хризантемою" та набором прикрас "Золотистий пил" :-)

To sew the skirt I use pattern #114 from Burda 5/2020. The sewing is very quick. I even had nothing to photograph but a couple of ready parts. More than that, I made both the skirt and the blouse, the next post will be devoted to it, in a single day.

Для пошиття спідниці я використала викрійку 114 з Burda 5/2020. Пошиття дуже швидке. Мені навіть не було чого фотографувати крім готових деталей. Більш того, спідницю і блузку, про яку розповім в наступному дописі, я пошила за один день.

Patchwork Print Fabric Skirt

I bought this gorgeous fabric in the stock store few years ago without any idea how to use it. I thought over dresses, blouses and shirts and, at last, saw skirt #106 from Burda 5/2025. I admired the model from the first sight and was sure I would sew it but only of the fabric from my stash as I need badly to decrease it essentially. Somehow the spark ignited between the model and this faux patchwork viscose and the fabric's fate was decided :-)

Спідниця з тканини імітації печворк 

Купила я цю круту тканину декілька років тому у стоковій крамниці і не мала жодного уявлення що б з неї  пошити. Обмірковувала сукні, блузки та сорочки поки, нарешті, побачила спідницю 106 з Burda 5/2025. Моделлю одразу захопилася і була переконана, що шитиму її, але лише з тканини з моїх запасів, бо маю нагальну потребу їх зменшити і до, того ж, істотно. Якось між цією віскози з імітацією печворку та викрійкою спалахнула іскра, тож доля тканини була визначена :-)

I cut the skirt as long as the fabric allowed. I don't remember exactly how long was the piece but the skirt is about 5-6 cm shorter than in the magazine. There is a tutorial for this skirt in the issue so I just followed the instruction. Before cutting I had some doubts as for the back ruffle created by the gathered fabric along the top back edge and that prediction was true. I mean, as that ruffle is quite wide, 4.5 cm, it doesn't stand but bends. As I see it only on the photo, it less annoying than it could be but, however, I'd better pulled elastic in that upper case, too, to avoid that. It is not hard to fix when the skirt is ready so may be I will.

Cпідницю покроїла таку довгу, на скільки дозволила тканина. Не пам'ятаю напевно якої довжини був відріз, але готова спідниці см на 5-6 коротша ніж в журналі. Шила по інструкції, до того ж у випуску є ілюстрований майстер клас для цієї спідниці, а це ще полегшує роботу. Перед розкроєм мала сумніви щодо шлярки, яка утворюється з тканини зібраною еластичною стрічкою по верхньому краю спинки і передбачення це справдилося. Маю на увазі, через те, що та шлярка доволі широка, 4,5 см, вона не стоїть, а складається. Оскільки бачу я це лише на фото, це дратує менше ніж могло б, проте, краще б вставити ще одну еластичну стрічку  в ту верхню кулісу, щоб цьому запобігти. Це нескладно зробити і вже в готовій спідниці, то, може, і зроблю.

Belt-Tie Denim Skirt

Today I share my new piece of clothes with great pleasure because I do enjoy both sewing and wearing this gorgeous skirt which I made of floral print denim by pattern #6235. I didn't sew many denim outfits. In fact, I can recall only few of them, more or less classic black jeans and a skirt and pink ones as well made in the recent years. This time I used thin slightly stretched floral denim. The outcome met my expectations entirely!

Джинсова спідниця з паском

Зі справжнім захопленням ділюся сьогодні моїм новим доповненням до гардеробу, тому що і шити і носити цю мою чудову спідницю, пошиту з заквітчаного джинсу по моделі Burda #6235  - справжнє задоволення. Я не багато шила речей з джинсу, насправді можу згадати лише декілька, пошиті останніми роками: більш чи менш класичні чорні джинси та спідницю та ще рожеві. Цього разу використала тонеький трохи еластичний джинс квіточками. Результат цілком виправдав мої очікування!

The pattern and the fabric are meant to be together :-) Nothing was changed in the model, I only refused from the slit in the centre front as I think it is not comfortable when wearing the garment. I also didn't cut the front piece by the centre line, just fold the detail and top stitched it.

Модель і тканина створені одне для одного :-) Нічого в викрійці не міняла, лише відмовилася від розрізу по центру переду, тому що вважаю його незручним для носіння вбрання. Також я не розрізала передню деталь по центру, просто склала та відстрочила оздоблювальною строчкою вздовж краю.

Thanking to the print, the skirt is paired well with different tops. In these photos, it's combined with my new pink top. I also made a couple more variants which I'm going to share in the next posts. 

Завдяки візерунку, спідниця добре поєднується з різними топами. На цих фото, вона зкомбінована з моїм рожевим топом. Я також пошила ще декфлька варіантів, які планую показати в наступних дописах.

Boucle Skirt

 

As yesterday we had a sudden snow storm which rarely happens here in winter and is absolutely not typical for April, I had to clean snow both before and after work so get tired and forgot to make a post yesterday despite the skirt  had been ready for a week and the photos were taken last weekend as well, and I did want to share the outcome as I am exciting about it :-) The skirt #119 Burda 12/2003 made of thick but soft boucle with almost velvet texture looks and feels heavy and solid. I am always happy getting the things exactly what they have been expected to be and this is a good examle of the case.

Оскільки вчора у нас була несподівана хуртовина яких тут і взимку рідко буває, а в квітні і поготів, то мені довелося і перед і після роботи чистити сніг, тож я втомилася і забула створити допис. Хоча спідниця вже тиждень як готова і фото зробили ще на минулих вихідних, і мені справді хотілося поділитися тим, що вийшло, тому що я в захваті від цієї нової роботи :-) Спідницю 119 Burda 12/2003 пошито з товстого проте м'якого букле з майже оксамитовою текстурою, виглядає вона відповідно важкою і солідною. Коли отримуєш речі саме такими як і очикуєш - це задоволення, і ця робота - гарний тому приклад.

I lengthened the skirt for about 6 cm as the fabric is thick and in this way the garment looks better. It also creates right proportions and gives more possibilities for combinations with tops in different sizes and shapes.

Спідницю подовжила на 6 см оскільки тканина товста і це моделі на користь. До того ж так створюються кращі пропорції і з'являється більше можливостей для комбінування з верхом різних форм і об'ємів.

All the parts of the skirt were reinforced with stretch interfacing. The bottom I evened after the skirt was hanging a night and, as it seen in the photo, it was right as central bottom parts bias cut. In this video it was shown how I did it (video in Ukrainian but how to do it is clear). 

The skirt is lined, the lining is for 4 cm shorter than the skirt.

Всі частини спідниці зміцнені трикотажної прокладкою. Низ вирівняла після того як спідниця ніч провисіла і, як це видно на фото, це було правильно, оскільки центральні нижні частини покроєні навскіс. В цьому відео показано як це робилося. 

Спідниця на підкладці, підкладка на 4 см коротша за спідницю.

Here I paired the skirt with my Dolman Sequin Blouse, actually, it was meant to be from the beginning but the items were not finished at the same time :-) In the previous post you can see the skirt combined with a velvet top, looks not bad either :-)

Тут я поєднала спідницю з моєю блузою в лелітки, взагалі, вони були одразу призначені одне одному, але не були пошиті водночас :-) В попередньому дописі можна побачити як блузка комбінується з оксамитовою блузкою, виглядає теж непогано :-)

Black Denim Skirt

I wore the skirt a little after sewing it while the weather was chilly but, because of the huge amount of work at the end of the term and rolling blackouts which unite together more than badly and even worse with making new things, had no chance to share this new project here. Now the situation with electricity has improved to some degree so I am in hurry to write the blogpost finally.  

I cannot recall when I made something black last time but one day decided to make dark blue jeans. However, the ordered in the Internet fabric turned out to be super in colour and not so good in quality in real; it seemed too stretchy and smelled like rubber, being not cheap for me as well; in brief, it didn't make me happy at all. Thus I decided to buy other denim which seemed to be of better quality but black. Then I thought a little more and came to the conclusion that I also want a denim skirt as I've heard it is trendy now, isn't it?:-) And I've never in my life had a denim skirt, a kind of classic one, long with a centre front cut. What I got in the end, is seen clearly in the photos. At first, I cut the jeans and then cut and sewed this skirt but instead of the classic I made it four-seamed, slightly widening to the bottom, pattern #726 from ancient special Burda issue  Blouses, Skirts, Trousers. I hardly could remember how that issue found itself in my collection, probably it happened in 1996 so, as I have no other explanation, the legend of its origin based on real facts is what it is :-)

Чорна джинсова спідниця

Спідницю я вже трохи поносила після пошиття поки було прохолодно, але через купу роботи в кінці семестру та відключення світла, які важко поєднуються між собою і ще гірше зі створенням нових речей, часу не знайшла поділитися цим проектом. Сьогодні ситуація зі струмом трохи поліпшилася, тож поспішаю зробити нарешті допис. 

Не пригадую, коли останнього разу шила щось чорне і тут вирішила зробити собі темно-сині джинси, втім, тканина, яку я замовила в інтернеті, за кольором була супер, а якість мені не дуже сподобалася в реальності: якась надто тягуча і мені навіть трохи смердить гумою, словом задоволення не те, адже і вартість була не така вже і мала як для мене. Отже вирішила купити інший джинс, який здався мені гарної якості, але чорний. Потім ще трохи подумала, і вирішила, що хочу ще і джинсову спідницю, тренд жеж як-не-як, а у мене в житті не було джинсової спідниці, такої класичної: прямої, зі шлицею по середині переду. Чим все закінчилося дуже добре видно на фото. Спочатку я покроїла джинси, потім покроїла і пошила спідницю, і не класичну, а чотирьохшовну з легким розширенням до низу, модель #726 зі стародавнього спецвипуску. Я ледь згадала звідки він у мене взявся, а було це, здається, в 1996 році, тож, оскільки іншого пояснення у мене немає, легенда про його походження, заснована на фактах, є така яка є:-)

That mentioned year I subscribed to Burda in Polish language, it was cheaper than in Russian and then we even couldn't dream about Ukrainian issues. I was sure to have patterns and drafts are enough for me as I could sew and would figure out whatever. Suddenly, the fifth issue didn't arrive. I appealed somewhere and got this Burda Special instead. I still wonder what was in that Burda 5/1996 :-) It happened again during the year but then the replaced issues were correct but in German. From that magazine I made a few things, the skirt was also one of my favs all these years and for denim turned out to be a perfect choice. It yet has the cut but in the centre back seam. I reinforced its edges with interfacing to avoid stretching.

P.S. I examined the issue more attentively and found year 1998, it's confusing indeed as now I have no idea where I got the magazine, and which I got instead that missed 5/1996😳.

Того року я передплатила Burda але польською мовою: було дешевше ніж російською (про українською тоді ніхто і не мріяв) і я подумала, що мати викрійки мені буде достатньо, розберуся - шити я вмію. І тут раптом п'яте число журналу не прийшло; я писала кудись і мені надіслали оцей спецвипуск замість того травневого (мені досі цікаво, що там в ньому такого було :-)). Такі випадки пару разів ще траплялися, але на заміну приходили числа німецькою, проте які треба. З того випуску я пошила декілька речей та і спідниця ця мені завжди подобалася; як виявилося, для джинсу - саме то. Розріз теж є, але в середньому шві задньої частини. Я його краї зміцнила прокладкою, щоб не розтягувалися.

P.S. Я уважніше роздивилася журнал і знайшла рік 1998, і це справжня бентега, оскільки тепер не знаю звідки цей журнал взявся і який з них я все ж таки отримала замість того 5/1996😳.

Besides the gorgeous silhouette, the skirt's real zest is shaped belt loops. Thanks to the wide band and those loops one can wear two belts if somebody likes them or has matching belts. Not to say too much, the skirt is awesome, I came to terms with the colour; when the jeans are ready, I don't know, it's quite hot here now, the time for such jeans has already passed :-)

Крім прекрасного силуету, справжньою родзинкою спідниці, безумовно, є фігурні шльовки. Завдяки широкому поясу та таким двурядним шльовкам, можна одягати два паски, якщо комусь таке подобається. Ну, або якщо у когось вони є:-) Словом, спідниця прекрасна, комфортна, з кольором я змирилася, коли будуть джинси - поки не знаю, бо в нас вже спека, тобто, сезон такого джинсу вже минув :-)

From the clothes I have the plaid shirt pairs well enough with the skirt. Completed with a blue necklace and yellow earrings.

З речей які в мене є непогано поєдналася зі спідницею картата сорочка. Доповнено блакитними бусами та жовтими сережками.

Перші фото зробили, коли я була в своєму новому гачкованому топі з купою намист.

Frill Jacquard Skirt

 

The idea to use bright fabrics to sew garments for cold seasons always sounds attractive for me, for example, as it is here, the dense jacquard with busy ornate print  purchased specially to sew this skirt 5B,C from Burda Easy A/W 2017 because, despite my rather too big stash, I had found nothing matching the pattern. The skirt caught my eye from the first sight so I used to buy PDF pattern on our Ukrainian Burdastyle site. The design is simple, it's a straight, a little narrowed to the bottom skirt with a frill. Nothing special if not a zipper in the centre of the front thus not having a zipper of one of the print's colours, it's not even worth to start cutting :-)

Жакардова спідниця з оборкою 

Мене завжди приваблює ідея використання строкатих тканини  для пошиття речей для холодної пори року, як, наприклад, в даному випадку щільного жакарду з яскравим візерунком. Придбала його для пошиття саме спідниці 5B, C з Burda Easy Осінь/Зима 2017, бо, незважаючи на свій радше завеликий запас тканин, нічого, щоб мені підійшло для пошиття такої моделі, в ньому не знайшлося. Спідниця мені одразу сподобалася, тож колись і викрійку PDF купила на нашому сайті. Дизайн простий: пряма ледь звужена до низу спідниця з оборкою. Нічого особливого, якби не блискавка по середині переду, тож  не маючи блискавки одного з кольорів візерунку, не варто і кроїти :-) 

After sewing the zipper, the rest of work is quick and easy. The only problem with such a zipper it can unzip itself while wearing the garment so must be under control.

Після вшивання блискавки решта робота проста і швидка. Єдина проблема з такою застібкою, вона може розходитися сама собою поки спідниця носиться тож треба тримати її під контролем.

The model in the magazine is made of stretch fabric, mine is not so to provide the right fitting I widened every detail for 3 cm. After trying the skirt on, it turned out to be to much and 1,5 cm of them were cut off. However, around the waist it still was wide and I surely had to narrow the skirt along the waist line for a couple more cm but, unfortunately, it got clear only when the skirt was ready. 

I also cut a single detail with a fold for the back and instead of a seam in the centre, just stitched along the fold forming the dart. 

In the photos the skirt is paired with a sweater, white blouse and a cape and completed with a twist rope, necklace and earrings.

Модель в журналі зроблена з тканини з еластаном, моя - ні, тож, щоб забезпечити гарну посадку, кожну деталь розширила на 3 см. Примірявши спідницю, виявила, що це занадто і 1,5 см з них довелося зрізати. Проте навколо талії це було недостатньо, і мені по лінії талії треба було зрізати більше. На жаль, це стало зрозуміло лише як спідниця була готова. 

Також задню частину викроїла як одну деталь зі згином і просто вздовж згину прострочила формуючи виточку. 

На фото спідницю скомбіновано зі светром, білою блузкою та накидкою та доповнено джгутом, намистом та сережками.

Pink Asymmetric Pencil Skirt

 

This skirt #125 from Burda 5/2012 was meant to be sewed since I purchased the magazine but I couldn't decide what fabric I'd like to use as it had to be made of light stretch material good to wear in summer. Finally, after purchasing 4 m of thin textured denim a few years ago,  I made my mind to sew trousers, this skirt and also have an idea to make a kind of classic denim jacket from the rest of this pink fabric. The trousers were made last summer, the skirt was ready in autumn, and I planned to take photo of me in it when the jacket is sewed. However, having tried on the garment these days, I decided there is no sense to postpone the photo session as right now I can wear control top tights under the skirt to have it zipped on me, but hardly will do it in summer:-)

Рожева асиметрична спідниця олівець

Цю спідницю 125 з Burda 5/2012 я планувала пошити з часів купівлі журналу, але щось ніяк не могла вирішити, з якої тканини я собі її уявляю, адже вона мала бути з легкої тканини з еластаном годної для носіння влітку. Зрештою, придбавши декілька років тому 4 м тонкого фактурного джинсу, я одразу подумала, що пошию з нього штани, цю спідницю та ще хочеться більш менш класичного джинсового крою жакетик. Штани вже є, спідницю пошила ще восени і думала фотографуватися коли вже і жакет буде готовий, проте примірявши її минулого тижня, вирішила, що фотосесію немає куди відкладати, бо зараз можу під спідницю одягнути утягуючи колготки, щоб вона таки застібнулася, але навряд чи буду робити це влітку :-)

The fabric is easy to work with so the sewing was quick and went by the instruction. The only thing I added - top stitched the top edge facing.

З такою тканиною працювати легко, тож пошиття було швидким і йшло за інструкцією. Єдине, що я додала - відстрочила обшивку верхнього краю.

I don't know if the skirt fits me in summer but really like the design, it suits my style and pair well with blouse made specially to match this skirt. 

Не знаю чи влізу я в спідницю влітку, але мені справді подобається її крій, вона точно вписується в мій стиль і добре комбінується з блузкою пошитою спеціально до цієї спідниці.

Pink & Grey Checked Pencil Skirt

 

The projects can be different. Some of them are made quickly, at one breath with much of enjoyment from the process and the outcome. Some projects are being thought over for a long time with changing ideas, and the outcome is far from what you had planned to do before the work started. I could probably  name a couple more variants but right now want to tell about the one which is presenting here. It is the case when you like everything: the model, the fabric, the fitting, the outcome but you try so much to do your best that eventually overdo and spoil the work.

The fabric was bought specially to make a skirt matching the sweater in the photo. I remember I was sure I would make the skirt quickly as it takes much less time than knitting. But the sweater is ready since last February and the skirt since last Saturday :-)

Рожево-сіра спідниця-олівець в клітинку

Проекти бувають різні. Деякі виконуються швидко, на одному подиху, з великим задоволенням від процесу і результату. Деякі обмірковуються довго, зі зміною ідей, а  на виході отримуєш щось зовсім не те, що збиралася шити перед початком роботи. Мабуть змогла б назвати ще декілька варіантів, але зараз хочу розповісти про той, який представляю тут. Це коли тобі все подобається: і тканина, і модель, і як сидить і що виходить, але ти так стараєшся зробити як найкраще, що зрештою псуєш роботу.

Тканину було куплено спеціально, щоб пошити спідницю до светра на фото. Пам'ятаю, що була впевнена, що пошию спідницю швидко, оскільки на це іде набагато менше часу ніж на плетіння. Проте, светр готовий ще з минулого лютого, а спідниця - з минулої суботи :-)

To get a balanced outfit with a loose sweater the skirt had to be a kind of pencil. I looked through all my magazines and chose pattern #105 from Burda 11/2013. As the skirt is bias cut and I didn't want to have troubles with check control along the seams, I decided to sew the pipes into them. And as for me, it turns to be a really good idea. 

Щоб отримати збалансоване вбрання зі светром вільного силуету, спідниця мала бути типу олівець. Я переглянула всі свої журнали і обрала модель 105 з Burda 11/2013. Оскільки спідницю покроєно навскіс і морочитися зі співпадінням кліток у швах не хотілося, я вирішила вшити в них кант. Як на мене, це виявилася справді гарна ідея.

When I tried the skirt on, the fitting was great and nothing told me about anything wrong. After sewing a zipper, the back seam became stretched beneath the zipper. I wasn't aware of it until the skirt was ready, and then I felt it and saw in the mirror. Thus now I have either to rip the lining, zipper, seam, and cut the extra fabric along the waist  and then compile all those again or to wear the clothes covering my fail. 

Коли я приміряла спідницю, посадка була чудова і нічого не натякало на якесь неподобство. Після вшивання блискавки, задній шов під нею розтягнувся. Я цього не усвідомлювала поки спідниця не була готова, а потім відчула і побачила у дзеркалі. Тож тепер я маю або відпороти підкладку, випороти блискавку, шов та відрізати по талії залишок тканини, а потім все це зшити знову, або носити одяг, який прикриватиме мою невдачу.

Along the waist the skirt was pretty wide, I was afraid of something like that actually happened with the back seam so decided to add one more dart instead to deepen front darts or take more fabric into the piped seams; then sewed the lining and then looked into the instruction. The skirt turned out to have a waistband, I mean in the magazine. Mine doesn't. 

По талії спідниця була доволі широка, тож я вирішила зробити додаткову виточку, оскільки боялася, що станеться щось на кшталт того, що сталося зі швом задньої частини, тож не хотіла поглиблювати виточки переду або забирати більше тканини в шви з кантами; потім пришила підкладку, а потім подивилася в інструкцію. Виявилося, що у спідниці є пасок по талії, я маю на увазі в журналі. У моєї немає.

Jersey Green Skirt

 

The skirt #106 was destined to be sewed from the first sight as the model in the magazine is made of the jersey in the same colour, and when I saw the preview of Burda 4/2023, I was thinking over the skirt to match the blouse I was going to sew to take part in the challenge #sewaprilblouse23. I even registered on Instagram for the the sake of that but the cut blouse is still in the bag waiting for the next April, or just for the right time to be finished. Instead I've already got the skirt which pairs greatly with my Pepper Blouse made without any challenges and which I wear actively this season. The fabric also has a story, it is a suit jersey dense and thick enough with moderate stretch. I had about 2.5 m of it and when russian invasion started, it was one of the pieces I used to black out as during almost the whole first year of the Big war we could switch on the light for only urgent necessity and lived like moles most of time. So when that regime was over, I decided to make something beautiful of those materials would be a good symbolic idea. And here it is. I've already worn it a couple of times but as much as I like how the skirt fits and suits me, and how comfortable it is, I'd rather not put it off :-) 

Matching accessories are Chili Peppers and Fur Tree Necklaces.

Спідниця 106 була приречена на пошиття з першого погляду, оскільки модель в журналі пошита з трикотажу такого самого кольору, і, коли я побачила перший огляд Burda 4/2023,  саме обмірковувала фасон спідниці, яка мала б доповнити блузку, яку я збиралася пошити беручи участь у челенджі #sewaprilblouse23. Заради того я навіть зареєструвалася в Інстаграмі, але покроєна блузка і досі лежить у мішку, мабуть в очікуванні наступного квітня або просто свого часу, щоб її дошили. Натомість у мене є спідниця, яка прекрасно поєднується з  моєю "перченою" блузкою, яку я пошила без жодних челенджів і цього сезону частенько одягаю. 

Тканина теж з історією. Це  достатньо товсте і щільне, з помірним стречем костюмне джерсі. У мене його було десь 2,5 м і коли почалося російське вторгнення, воно стало одним з відрізів, які я використовувала для світломаскування оскільки майже весь перший рік великої війни ми могли вмикати світло лише за нагальної потреби тож більшість часу жили як кроти. Коли цей режим закінчився, я вирішила, що було б гарною символічною ідеєю пошити щось красиве з тих відрізів і ось маю собі. Вже декілька разів одягала її, але воліла б не знімати - аж так мені подобається і як на мені ця спідниця сидить і як вона мені пасує:-) 

Підхожі аксесуари - два намиста "Перчинки" та "Ялинка".

I sewed the skirt with pleasure. I didn't measure how much fabric I used exactly but what is left probably would be enough for a waist or shorts. I followed the instruction. The sewing is not hard as the fabric is dense. The waist edge is reinforced with firm interfacing tape.

Шила спідницю з задоволенням. Не міряла, скільки точно в мене залишилося тканини, але на якійсь жилет або на шорти має вистачити. Слідувала інструкції. Пошиття нескладне, оскільки тканина щільна. Зріз по талії зміцнений жорсткою флізеліновою стрічкою.

Despite I like the goldish buttons on the model's pockets in the magazine, for my hips it is more practical to sew the ones in the hue of the fabric. 

Хоча мені сподобалися золотисті ґудзики на кишенях моделі в журналі, для моїх стегон ґудзики в тон тканини більш практичні.

I decided to line the skirt but as my lining is not stretching, I cut every detail  about 2,5 cm wider than the main parts. 

Вирішила посадити спідницю на підкладку. Але оскільки підкладкова тканина тут не еластична, кожну деталь покроїла десь на 2,5 см ширше ніж основні частини.

Tavria Asymmetrical Buttoned Skirt

 

I intended to make a type of a skirt like this model #117 from Burda 7/2023 quite long and even was thinking about self-drafting because it is not quantum physics at all but while I was meditating on that, Burda provided me with the desirable pattern and it pushed the process a lot :-) For the sewing I chose either denim or 100% cotton twill with very ornate whimsical print in blue hues and called the skirt Tavria as traditional Tavriysky painting inspired me to choose this special fabric, and to visit our famous Mykolaiv Zoo for the sake of what the skirt was created. Our zoo is considered to be the best in Ukraine,  at least it's said so here, and whoever is asked where a tourist can go in our city, the zoo will be number 1 in the list. Number 2 was swimming-pool Vodoley but it was destroyed during the shelling and if it is ever restored, nobody knows. The zoo suffered a lot, too. It takes no time to come across the traces from the rockets and cassette missiles hits. The animals survived and the zoo, finally, was opened thanking to the help of very many people from around the world. I must admit I hadn't been there for a long time. In my childhood I remember to be sorry about the beasts, who seemed not to feel comfortable in their enclosures. But now I and my friend were excited indeed. Two 50+ ladies were wondering around the area about three hours and had no moment of boredom! Our zoo is really worthy both its fame and attention, and the people working there deserve honour and grace. So what with Tavriysky painting? The point is I wanted to visit the zoo as soon as saw they had organized a kind of a tiny skansen, a typical south backyard inhabited with domestic animals, with  a hut painted with plenty of blue colours, and the equipment of a hardworking  farmer. And Tavriysky painting itself became the visit card of Mykolaiv region. That's the inspiration :-)

Спідниця з асиметричною застібкою "Таврія" 

Давно хотіла пошити таку спідницю, подібну до моделі 117 з Burda 7/2023, навіть думала самій змоделювати, бо це ж зовсім нескладно, але поки думала, Burda вже забезпечила викрійкою і це дуже прискорило процес :-) Для пошиття я обрала чи то джинс чи то саржу з дуже вітіюватим складним візерунком в блакитних тонах і назвала цю модель "Таврія", бо саме Tаврійський розпис надихнув на вибір тканини, а ще на відвідування нашого знаменитого зоопарку для чого я цю спідницю і пошила. Зоопарк наш вважається найкращим в Україні, принаймні, у нас так кажуть, і кого б ви не запитали куди б туристу податися в Миколаєві, зоопарк буде на першому місці, на другому раніше був басейн "Водолій", але він був зруйнований під час обстрілів, і чи його відновлять - невідомо. Зоопарк теж постраждав, сліди від касетних  снарядів та ракет довго шукати не доведеться. Звірі вижили і зоопарк зрештою відкрився завдяки допомозі багатьох людей з різних країн. Маю зізнатися, я давно вже там не була. З дитинства запам'яталося, що звірів було шкода, здавалося, що їм там затісно і незручно. Але зараз ми з подругою були в захваті. Дві пані 50+ проблукали по парку майже три години і ні на мить не знудилися. Вартий такі наш зоопарк своєї слави та уваги, а люди, які там працюють, шани та вдячності. До чого ж тут Таврійський розпис? Так мені ж саме і захотілося піти до зоопарку як побачила, що вони організували крихітний скансен: типове південне подвір'я з хатиною розписаною в синьо-блакитних відтінках, з домашніми тваринками та домашнім приладдям працьовитого господаря. А сам Таврійський розпис тепер вважають візитівкою Миколаївщини. Отаке буває натхнення :-)

There is not much to tell about the sewing as it took just a few hours to make. But there's the thing I can't explain, when the skirt is spread out flat on the table, it's clear that all the details are even and has the same length and width but when I am wearing it, the beneath front part is seen a little as if it is longer than the upper part. I sewed a snap in the middle but it didn't help. I saw that only on the photos so have no will to unpick the work and change something but nevertheless. 

Instead the skirt turned out to pair  well with plenty of blouses in my wardrobe what could be a real fun to play. E.g. with old blouse #120 from Burda 3/2001, or Blue Roses linen one, and Lvivsky Square earrings, or Pink Lake tunic. 

Немає особливо що розповідати про пошиття, бо на нього пішло декілька годин. Втім, є дещо, чого я не можу пояснити. Коли спідниця лежить розкладена на столі, видно, що всі деталі рівні по довжині та ширині, а коли я її одягаю, нижня частина переду трохи виглядає з під верхньої наче вона довша. Я це побачила лише на фото, тож не маю волі пороти роботу і щось змінювати, проте що є, то є. Натомість, виявилося, що спідниця добре поєднується з багатьма блузками в моєму гардеробі, що може бути гарною розвагою, як немає чого робити. Скажімо, зі старою блузкою  #120 from Burda 3/2001, чи лляною "Блакитні Троянди", та сережками "Львівський квадрат"  чи тунікою "Рожеве озеро".
