Pink & White Melange Hat

Two more projects were made in December but the sharing was postponed on some reasons, or, more likely, without any worthy to be mentioned here :-) First of them is a knitted hat, as my new stunning coat needed to be complete with it to be worn in colder season. I didn't have much time to make it, and wanted to use the yarn remnants from the previoius projects so the hat pattern had to be simple. Confetti Crush pattern from garnstudio Drops Design meets those requiements entirely. To be honest, I didn't think a lot about the hat's model and used the first one I came across on their site. 

The hat is knitted with two threads, pink and white. I knitted the hat flat and then sewed, as it is quicker for me, with less number of cast stitches as my tenshion was different from the site's. 

The ready item is warm and beautiful, and matches the coat perfectly. 

Рожево-біла меланжева шапка 

Ще два проєкти було створено в грудні, але поділитися я ними не встигла з різних причин, або, вірогідніше, без жодних, про які тут варто згадувати :-) Перший з них - це плетена на спицях шапка, оскільки моє нове приголомшливе пальто треба було нею доповнити аби одягати в холодні місяці. У мене не було багато часу на плетіння і хотіла використати залишки пряжі від минулих виробів, тому модель мала бути простою. Тож Confetti Crush pattern from garnstudio Drops Design. цілком відповідала цим критеріям. Насправді, я не переймалася вибором моделі і використала першу яку побачила на їхньому сайті. 

Шапку связано двома нитками, рожевою і білою. Плела її розгорнуто а потім зшила, тому що мені так швидше, з меншою кількістю набраних петель оскільки щільність плетіння у мене трохи відрізняється від опису на сайті. Готовий виріб гарний, теплий і чудово пасує до пальта.

Bordeaux Crochet Hat

 

I left house yesterday and felt the autumn came in full so I urgently need a hat to match my new jacket. I even didn't have to buy any new yarn as in my stash had a skein of Alize LanaGold in the most appropriate colour (the real hue in the middle photo of the hat on the ironing board), saturated Bordeaux. The crochet hat pattern from DropsDesign was found quickly on their site and took me yesterday evening to start and finish it.

This time I was wearing earrings made with crochet bead, one of my beading project ever, by the way:-) 

Бордовий гачкований капелюшок 

Вчора вийшла з будинку і одразу відчула, що осінь вже тут невідворотньо, тож до нового жакету мені терміново потрібна шапка. Мені навіть не довелося купувати пряжі, бо в запасах знайшовся моток Alize LanaGold потрібного кольору (реальний відтінок на фото посередині, де шапка лежить на прасувальній дошці), насиченого бордо. Модель гачкованого капелюшка швидко знайшлася на сайті DropsDesign і за вчорашній вечір я її і згачкувала. 

Цього разу доповнила вбрання сережками з оплетеною гачком намистиною, одними з моїх найперших прикрас, до речі:-) 

Coastline Crochet Top

 

I haven't noticed how quickly I crocheted this top just sitting in my armchair and  trying to follow the events of Death Paradise and ...not in Paradise last seasons series. The fibre was bought together with the kit to make a raffia hat last summer and as I can't but be inspired while watching tropical land- and seascapes, all mentioned above together brought this big skein of YarnArt Flowers in my hands and here it is! A new top crocheted by this pattern from Drops Design.

Я і не помітила як швидко згачкувала цей топ лише сидячи в кріслі і намагаючись слідкувати за подіями останніх сезонів "Смерті в раю" та " ...не в раю". Пряжу купила разом з набором для плетіння капелюху з рафії минулого літа і, оскільки не можу не надихатися острівними та морськими пейзажами, все згадане разом принесло мені в руки цей великий моток YarnArt Flowers і ось він тут! Новий топ сплетений за цією моделлю від Drops Design.

When working with yarns like YarnArt Flowers, the hardest thing is to define what skein's end to start with as without rich experience it's hard to decide how much yarn it takes to make a certain thing because, in fact, there is no chance to improvise. For example, I got leftovers enough for crocheting about five more rows but if I had used it, the top would be too long for me.  

Коли працюєш з пряжею на кшталт YarnArt Flowers, найскладніше визначитися з якого кінця мотка починати роботу, оскільки без значного досвіду важко вирішити скільки пряжі піде на виготовлення якоїсь речі, тому що, фактично, немає шансів імпровізувати. Наприклад, тут у мене залишилося пряжі достатніх для гачкування ще рядів п'яти, але якщо б я їх використала, топ для мене був би надто довгим.

I chose the grey end as at once was going to wear the top with the set of necklaces in the turquoise colourstyle. The outfit looks gorgeous with the chosen accessories, Knotted and Blue Eye necklaces, and Sea Wheel earrings.

Я обрала сірий кінець, тому що одразу вирішила, що носитиму топ з набором намист в бірюзовій гамі. З обраними аксесуарами вбрання виглядає ефектно, з намистами "З вузликами" та "Блакитне Око", та сережками "Штурвал".

Vintage Check Skirt

The skirt was made in July but the post writing was postponed all the time as I was going to make a couple of new blouses to pair with it. Just in case I wouldn't make any of those planned blouse, I paired it with a Pleated top to take photos before the summer ended :-) I knew it matches but was prone to the combining the skirt with a narrower garment. Finally, a couple of weeks ago I wore it with what I had to go to the centre of Mykolaiv, the first time during last seven months. The skirt suited both the occasion and the season so my joy to go around Soborna Street, which was partly ruined by cruise missiles in few days after that, was so full that what I was wearing had no meaning at all. I and my cousin whose family didn't leave the city either spent really good time on that Saturday. Several stores worked so we pretended to do shopping, took some photos, and then had a delicious lunch in a pleasant cafe. Such simple things... primitive things but when I am just writing about them now my eyes are getting wet. We did feel alive as well as our suffering but unconquered place.

Спідниця ретро в клітинку 

Спідницю пошила ще в липні, але написання допису все відкладалося через мої плани колись пошити щонайменше дві нові блузки в пару до неї. Лише про всяк випадок, раптом я ті заплановані блузки не пошию, скомбінувала спідницю з топом з горизонтальними складками, щоб сфотографувати поки літо не закінчилося :-) Знаю, що вони пасують, але схилялася до комбінації з більш вузьким верхом. Зрештою, пару тижнів тому я одягнула її з чим було, щоб вирушити в центр Миколаєва перший раз за останні сім місяців. Спідниця була і по погоді і по нагоді, тож моя радість, поки гуляла Соборною, яка за декілька днів зазнала руйнувань балістичними ракетами, була настільки повною, що в чому я була тоді одягнута, взагалі не мало жодного значення. Ми з сестрою дуже добре провели час тієї суботи. Працювали декілька крамниць, тож ми трохи поприкидалися, що робимо покупки, пофотографувалися, а потім дуже смачно пообідали в кафе. Прості речі... примітивні речі, але навіть коли я пишу про це у мене очі стають вологими. Ми почувалися справді живими, так само як і наше стражденне, але нескорене місто.

The sewing of this model #113 from Burda 6/2019, or #130 Burda 4/2025, was quite easy despite checks. I even sewed the pockets, what I mostly avoid, and made them with pleasure. The only changed detail - I had to widen the bottom of the back for about 6 cm otherwise the checks didn't match. Also, as I had a little more than 1.6 m of the fabric, I had to make a seam in the centre of the back. By the way, I sewed the top # 112 which is the skirt paired with in the magazine.

Пошиття цієї моделі 113 з Burda 6/2019, або 113 Burda 4/2025, було доволі простим незважаючи на клітинку. Я навіть кишені пошила, чого переважно уникаю, і зробила їх із задоволенням. Єдина зміна - довелося розширити низ задньої частини на приблизно 6 см, інакше не збігалися клітинки на бокових швах. І щод викласти спідницю у відріз трохи більший за 1.6 м довелося зробити шов по середині спинки. До речі, я шила топ 112, з яким в журналі скомбіновано спідницю.

The band is a little bigger than it has to be as I wanted checks to match in the front. The buttons found in my stash, they seem to be used the third time but look good anyway.

Пасок у мене трохи довший, тому що хотіла, що клітинки по середині передньої частини збігалися. Ґудзики знайшла в своїх запасах, здається, це вже їхній третій вихід, але виглядають все одно добре.

I enjoy my feeling while wearing the skirt but yet think it is worth stitching the pleats from the waist down for about 10 cm, and making a couple of those blouses.

Мені подобається, як я почуваюся в цій спідниці, але думаю, що може варто застрочити складки см на 10 вниз і все ж таки пошити тих пару блузок.

Artist's Friend Scarf

 

The story of this outfit, made up of the dress and the scarf, is quite long and has deep roots but I'll start telling it with a short introduction devoted to the accessory:-) Doing some crocheting, while hiding during air alarms among two armchairs and a sofa in our living room, turned out to be a good idea because I can do it lying on the floor. So I thought as I was going to make this outfit sooner or later, why not to start it this summer. Thus from the remnants of YarnArt Lily yarn the scarf appeared without any hint for haste:-)

 

Шарф "Подружка художника" 

Історія цього вбрання доволі довга і має глибоке коріння, але я почну її розповідати з короткого вступу присвяченого аксесуарові:-) Виявилося, що ховаючись під час повітряних тривог між кріслами і диваном в нашій вітальні, можна успішно плести гачком, тому що це я можу робити лежачи на підлозі. Тож, я подумала, якщо рано чи пізно все одно збираюся створювати це вбрання, чому ж не почати цього літа. Так з залишків пряжі YarnArt Lily без жодного натяку на поспіх з'явився цей шарф:-) 

The scarf made by Drops Design pattern162-7. Strange thing happen while it was crocheted. I had two leftover skeins of the yarn and decided just to crochet as long as the yarn is over. The scarf is made from the centre to the ends. But when the first half was ready, and I started the second one, they turned to be as if made of different yarns! The first was thin and skinny, the second - dense and full. Even after blocking  they are still of different length. Two repeats of the pattern rapports - 6 cm in my scarf. The length of the scarf together with the fringe is about 230 cm. It is exactly what I wanted. 

Шарф сплетений за моделлю 162-7 від Drops Design. Під час плетіння трапилася дивна річ. У мене було два мотки залишків пряжі і я вирішила плести шарф такої довжини, наскільки вистачить пряжі. Шарф плететься від середини до кінців. Але коли закінчила першу половину і почала другу, виявилося що половинки наче з двох різних пряж! Перша - тоненька і благенька, а друга половина - щільна і наповнена. Навіть після відпарювання вони залишилися різної довжини. Два повтори рапорту візерунку - 6 см мого шарфу. Довжина шарфу разом зі своєрідними китицями - приблизно 230 см. Це саме те, що я хотіла.

Evening Breath Shawl

 

One last summer evening the chilly night breeze provoked  my dreaming about a light shawl. I also was pondering about its real necessity and the story ended with the sewing a jeans jacket:-) So this year I yielded the temptation to test new yarn Diva Ombre Batik from Alize  and crocheted such a shawl. A little less than two months ago I called at our local hobby store and the girls offered to take a look at some gorgeous yarn. I am always ready to know what new they have and wanted a skein at once. The problem of choice because of great variety of the colours couldn't be solved at that very moment as I wanted most of them :-) So I took a photo of all the palette and came back to purchase in a day or two. Even now I cannot say why I chose this hue of violet... maybe just because I couldn't remember if I have any clothes in this colour :-)

 

On the photo the shawl is in pair with the jumpsuit, which turned to be the ideal showcase for it, Colour of the Rain earrings, which are an occasional choice here, and Twin Wrap bracelet. 

 

Шаль "Подих вечору" 

Одного літнього вечора минулого року прохолодний вечірній бриз навіяв мені думки про легку шаль. Також я міркувала, чи вона мені справді так вже і потрібна. Історія закінчилася пошиттям джинсового жакету :-) Тож цього року я поступилася спокусі спробувати нову пряжу Diva Ombre Batik від Alize і сплела таку шаль гачком. Трохи менше ніж два місяці тому забігла на хвилинку до нашої місцевої крамнички для рукотворниць і дівчата запропонувала поглянути на неймовірну пряжу. Я завжди готова дізнатися що у них є новенького і одразу закортіло мати її моточок. Через велике розмаїття кольорів проблему вибору одразу розв'язати було неможливо, тому що забажала більшість з них:-) Я сфотографувала всю палітру і повернулася заради покупки за день чи два. Навіть зараз не можу сказати, чому обрала саме цей відтінок бузкового... можливо лише через те, що не могла згадати чи є у мене одяг в таких кольорах:-) 

На фото шаль доповнює комбінезон, який став для неї ідеальною вітриною, сережки "Колір дощу", які тут опинилися випадково, та браслет-обгортка з твінів.

The work started with crocheting a swatch and, after that, choosing a pattern. I crocheted three samples and stopped at the Evening Breath shawl pattern from DropsDesign. I started crocheting from the inside end of the thread and had no idea if it would be enough yarn to have a quite big item to wrap in it. I didn't find any piece of advice as for that. 

Робота розпочалася з плетіння зразку для розрахування щільності плетіння і, після цього, вибору моделі. Я сплела три зразки і зупинилася на моделі Evening Breath від DropsDesign. Почала плести з внутрішнього кінця моточку і не мала уявлення чи мені вистачить на виріб достатньо великий, щоб в нього загорнутися. Жодної поради щодо цього я не знайшла.

The work was going quickly and it took me probably a fortnight to finish the crocheting. Before blocking the size of the shawl was about 140 x 70 cм. 

Робота пішла швидко і десь за два тижні плетіння було завершено. До відпарювання розмір шалі був приблизно 140 x 70 cm.

After blocking the size of the shawl is 180 x 79 cm. On the right photo you can see how much yarn left from 875 m.

Sky Kiss Hat

The hat, obviously, has nothing in common with kissing, the name is just a reverence for the pattern from DropsDesign used as a prototype and that is called Lavender Kiss :-) I know it is winter now but it didn't feel like it is here. But on Thursday despite of absence of snow and frost, the air became so cold that reminded at once about the real season and I suddenly realised that probably I should make a warm hat matching my fabulous Colour Block Super Scarf  which I wear very often, by the way. The yarn was bought right after the scarf was ready so these Friday and Saturday nights were spent for the knitting. 

Шапка "Небесний цілунок" 

Шапка, вочевидь, жодного стосунку до цілунків не має, це просто реверанс у бік DropsDesign, чию модель використано як прототип і яка у них називається "Лавандовий цілунок" :-) Я знаю, що зараз зима, але тут цього не відчувалося. Проте, у четвер, незважаючи на відсутність снігу і морозу, повітря стало таким холодним, що одразу нагадало, яка зараз пора року і я раптом зрозуміла, що мені все ж таки варто зробити теплу шапку у пару до мого надзвичайного супер шарфу "Кольорові блоки", який я, до речі, надягаю дуже часто. Пряжу було куплено ще по закінченню роботи над шарфом, тож ці п'ятничний і суботній вечори було витрачено на плетіння.

The hat was knitted in three threads: one Alize LanaGold Classic and two Alize Kid Mohair, knitting needles 4. My hat differs from DropsDesign's but I used the way of decreasing and the idea of garter stitch band from them so without it I wouldn't manage. I started with 92 stitches because my thread is thicker and I knitted the hat flat so needed two edge stitches. The band is double for warmth. The decreasing was started with their round 3 and with 2 sts tog then 7 k. As I knitted flat in this way it looks neater.

Шапку сплетено в три нитки: одна Alize LanaGold Classic і дві Alize Kid Mohair, спиці №4. Моя шапка відрізняється від тієї, що на сайті DropsDesign, але я використала їхній спосіб убування петель та ідею планки платочною в'язкою, тож без них я б не впоралася. Набрала 92 петлі, тому що моя нитка товстіша і плела пласко, тому знадобилися кінцеві петлі. Планка подвійна для тепла. Убування почала з їхнього 7 ряду і  в іншому порядку: 2 л. разом потім 7 л. Оскільки плела не по колу, так це виглядає охайніше.

Today I am very glad with my outcome and gladly share it here. But, in fact, I knitted two hats. The first one was finished yesterday and unpicked almost at once as it turned to be too big. So late at night yesterday I started the second time and finished today at about lunch time. 

Сьогодні я дуже задоволена результатом і з радістю тут ним ділюся. Але насправді я сплела дві шапки. Першу було закінчено вчора і майже одразу розплетено, тому що виявилася надто великою. Тому так само вчора пізно вночі почала плести другий варіант, який і закінчила вже сьогодні десь до обіду. 

Red V-neck Sweater

It seems I haven't made red dresses for quite long... :-) And have none in the nearest plans. So I guess it is a decent cause to knit a red sweater instead:-) Despite my yarn stash occupies the hole shelf in my workshop's cabinets it consists mostly of the remnants good for knitting or crocheting some home decor trifles and there are only three packs to make three items of clothes there. So it is not the stash of a crazy knitter or crocheter although I used to have periods of being the one. 

This red yarn (one of my favourite, Alize Lanagold) was bought occasionally last year when I dropped in our local hobby store to buy something necessary what wasn't there at that moment :-) As it is my knitting time now, I went on with making this sweater. It was a quick choosing of the pattern and quick knitting as well - all the work took me just two weeks! The model is plain but it is exactly what I wanted to get from this yarn.

Червоний светр з вирізом мисом

Щось я вже давно не шила собі червоних суконь... :-) І не маю жодної в найближчих планах. Тож думаю, це пристойна причина, щоб натомість сплести червоний светр:-) Хоча запаси пряжі займають цілу полицю у шафі моєї майстерні, складаються вони переважно з залишків гожих лише для плетіння чи то гачком чи на спицях лише якихось милих дурниць для домашнього декору і є лише три упаковки пряжі призначених для плетіння трьох предметів одягу. Тож  це - не запаси скаженої в'язальниці, хоча у мене колись подібні періоди траплялися. 

Цю червону пряжу (одну з моїх улюблених,  Alize Lanagold) я випадково купила минулого року, коли заходила в нашу місцеву крамницю, щоб купити щось необхідне, чого там в той момент не було:-) Оскільки зараз мій час плетіння, я його продовжила роботою над цим светром. І вибір моделі і сам процес були швидкими - на всю роботу пішло два тижні! Модель простенька, але це саме те, що я хотіла отримати з цієї пряжі.

The pattern Flamenco from DropsDesign. I knitted L size as my gauge was 17 stitches in 10 cm instead of their 16. I also refused from balloon sleeves and made them wide evenly from the ribs up to the top as my yarn is quite thick and I didn't want to look square while wearing the sweater with such sleeves. On the same reason I lengthened the sweater for 3 cm, such a proportions suit me better. 

Модель Flamenco від DropsDesign. Я плела розмір L, тому що щільність плетіння у мене 17 петель на 10 см замість їхніх 16. Також я відмовилася від рукавів балонів і зробила їх рівномірно широкими від "реберець" до верху оскільки пряжа у мене доволі товста і я не хотіла виглядати квадратною, коли одягатиму цей светр. З цієї ж причини я його подовжила на 3 см: така пропорція для мене краща. 

I like the idea to knit the neck hole bands with garter stitch at the same time with back and front parts. This typical for Dropsdesign method simplifies and makes the process of work much faster and always gives neat outcome. Thank you, designers! 

Мені подобається ідея плести планки вирізу платочним візерунком водночас з передньою і задньою частинами. Цей типовий для Dropsdesign метод спрощує і прискорює процес роботи і завжди дає охайний результат. Дякую дизайнерів!

As it is clear from the photo, I didn't knit round, all the details were made separately and then sewed. Maybe because I am a faormer tailor, I am much better in sewing than in round knitting. I also like the idea of the around decreasing/increasing instead of the sides' for shaping the details. After finishing I though I could make one more decrease/increase for more fitting but that OK as it is.

З фото видно, що я не плела светр по колу, всі деталі сплетені окремо і потім зшиті. Може через те, що я колишня кравчиня, але з пошиттям у мене набагато краще ніж з круговим плетінням. Мені також подобається ідея зі збавками/набавками по колу замість уздовж боків для надання форми виробу. Вже закінчивши роботу, я подумала, що мені варто було зробити ще один збавок/набавку для більшого прилягання, але так як є, теж добре.

Colour Block Brioche Super Scarf

It is knitting time again and, despite the season is not over yet, I have already got a new scarf :-) It was not difficult to knit but took some time to make - two weeks. There was none source of inspiration for making it but wish to wrap oneself into something soft and cosy and rejoice in diversity of colours. As for the latter I have some consideration, though... I could never understand why when it is getting colder, the weather stops being pleasant and the nature loses colours, people prefer wearing dark clothes. Crowds of us, worn in black grey brown & Co look not lively. And surely observing that doesn't add cheerfulness to the daily routine. So, to some degree, this my project is my investment into the idea of painting the cold and gloomy winter world :-) On my Ravelry profile I have a pile of favourite models with the tag #technique. There are many of them which I've never tried but hope to do one day so this scarf became an excellent chance and practice to learn a new kind of knitting for me. I guess I can say I posess it now well enough:-) The outcome is quite awesome, isn't it? 

Шарф  у техніці бріош "Кольорові блоки"

Знову настав час плетіння, і хоча сезон ще не закінчився, у мене вже є новий шарф:-) Плести було не важко, але трохи часу зайняло - два тижні. Жодних джерел натхнення, крім бажання загорнутися у щось м'якеньке і затишне та порадувати себе розмаїттям кольорів, не було. Хоча, щодо останнього, у мене є деякі міркування... Ніколи не могла зрозуміти, чому, коли стає холодніше, погода припиняє бути приємною, а природа втрачає фарби, люди надають перевагу темним кольорам. Натовпи нас, одягнутих у чорне, темно-сіре, коричневе і таке подібне, не виглядають аж надто життєрадісно. І це вже напевно, не додає бадьорості  щоденній рутині. Тож, до певної міри, цей проект - мій вклад у розфарбовування холодного і похмурого світу зими :-) На сайті Ravelry у мене є купа вподобаних моделей з маркуванням #technique. Технік, яких я ніколи не пробувала, але сподіваюся хоч колись освоїти, там багатенько, тож цей шарф став ще і прекрасною нагодою навчитися плести і оволодіти новим для мене видом плетіння. Думаю, можна вважати, що попрактикувалася доволі добре:-) Результат чудовий, чи не так ?

The idea and the model was taken on Drops design site. The technique has at least two names: brioche and, more clear and known for me since childhood, English ribs. 

Ідею і модель було запозичено на Drops design site. Техніка має щонайменше дві назви: бріош і, більш зрозуміла і знайома мені з дитинства, англійскі реберця ("резинка"). 

I've never tried it before despite knowing about it since started knitting. So at first I had to learn. The tutorials for both kinds (mono and two-coloured) techniques can be found on the same page with the scarf pattern. I took big knitting needles and made a sample, cannot say it was perfect from the first try as well as from the second:-) 

Ніколи не пробувала її, хоча і знаю про неї з того часу, як почала плести. Тож спочатку довелося навчитися. Майстер класи для обох видів техніки (одно- і двокольорової) знаходяться на тій самій сторінці, що і модель. я взяла великі спиці і зробила зразок, не можу сказати, що він був досконалий з першого разу, так само як і з другого.

The scarf itself was knitted with knitting needles 4.5. While knitting I also find the own way to define the colour of the next row. At first, I tried to put off my work only when both threads were on the same side, then the advice to start with the colour different from the edge stitch worked indeed. But then I saw that the last row always has two one after another stitches of the same colour so the next one must be knitted with the other. 

Сам шарф сплетений на спицях № 4,5. Поки плела, також винайшла власний спосіб визначати колір наступного ряду. Спочатку намагалася відкладати роботу лише коли обидві нитки були з одного боку, тоді порада починати з кольору протилежного крайній петлі спрацьовувала. Але потім зрозуміла, що останній ряд має завжди дві підряд петлі одного кольору, тож наступний треба плести протилежним.

The size of my scarf is 2.85 m x 32 cm (if to stretch 38 cm). I also cannot but thank Eva Maria Keiser Designs who knows everything about colour combinations :-)

V - neck Pullover, or Reading Contra Knitting :-)

Once upon a time I already orated on the theme of crafts and trips and a couple of weeks ago I came back from my summer journey. This time it was the travelling around the Carpathians including the climbing two mountains, Blysnytsya and Hoverla. Both of times I promised it was  the last try in my life and both of times I was admired of myself (and still am!) because of me reaching those tops as I had never climed before:-) 

Well... to be stick to the point without any other reasoning is not my virtue... So as for the crafts, the topic is still actual and nothing changed since then but the project I worked during the trip... Or, to be exact, was planning to work. And probably I would have done that if only had packed all the necessary tools into the suitcase. But I didn't. I packed the yarn, knitting needles, a front part of the pullover (that had been ready by that moment and I was sure I would need it when assemblying the pullover),  I also took a tapestry needle (by the way, such needles are called Gypsy needles here) to sew the finished parts as I was  sure I would finish all of them. And now what I forgot - the pattern. Generally, nowdays at the Internet era it wouldn't so hard to restore but it didn't occur to me to do that  because after much hiking to be in fever of looking for and printing the pattern was the last thing I wanted to do during the rest. So when wandering Ivano-Frankivsk I came across the bookstore with huge amount of books and very pleasant prices it became clear I wanted to read much more than to knit so bought few books and during the rest of the days read two of them.

Пуловер з вирізом мисом, або Читання проти в'язання :-)

Одного разу я вже просторікувала про рукотворчість під час мандрівок, а пару тижнів тому я якраз повернулася з моєї літньої поїздки. Цього разу це була подорож Карпатами під час якої я навіть вдерлася на дві гори - Близницю і Говерлу. Обидва рази я собі обіцяла, що це була остання спроба в моєму житті і обидва рази я була ( і досі є!) в захваті від  себе через те, що дійшла до тих вершин адже раніше ніколи не підіймалася в гори :-)

Хмм... триматися теми розповіді без усіляких ухилянь на інше базікання - не моя чеснота... Отже щодо рукотворчості, тема  досі актуальна і з того часу нічого не змінилося, лише проект над яким я працювала. Чи, якщо бути точною, планувала працювати. І так би воно мабуть і було, як би я спакувала до валізи все необхідне знаряддя.  Я взяла пряжу, спиці, передню частину пуловеру (яка була на той момент готова і я була впевнена, що вона мені знадобиться коли зшиватиму пуловер), я також взяла циганську голку, щоб зшити готові деталі. А що я забула - опис роботи зі схемами. Загалом, в нашу Інтернет-епоху це не було так вже і неможливо відновити той опис, але мені і на думку це не спало, тому що після стількох піших кидків перейматися пошуками та роздруковуванням схем - було останнє чим би я хотіла займатися на відпочинку. Тож, коли я гуляла по Івано-Франківську і натрапила на книгарню з величезними вибором книжок і дуже приємними цінами, стало зрозуміло, що набагато більше я хочу читати, а не в'язати, купила декілька видань і за решту днів подорожі прочитала два з них.

I came back home on very hot days and had no wish to sew in my stuffy workshop. To knit was much easier because it could be done at any part of the house. Thus my pullover transformed from a trip along project to the actual one and here it is:-)

The pattern 170-3 from Drops. I knitted  size L with knitting needles #3 not to recount the stitches as my gauge was a little different. Besides, I have no 5 needles set #3 and was not going to buy it for the only project so the when cast on the back added two more stitches to make them eadge ones, then just sewed the seam (on the bottom photo, the piece was unpicked because I made  a mistake in the pattern but the idea of the sewing is clear).

Я повернулася додому в дуже спекотні дні і не мала бажання шити у моїй задушливій майстерні. в'язати було набагато легше, тому що це можна робити в будь який частині будинку. Так мій пуловер з проекту для мандрівки перетворився на основний і ось він тут:-)

Модель 170-3 від Drops.  Плела розмір L на спицях № 3, щоб не перераховувати петлі, тому що моя щільність плетіння трохи відрізнялася. Крім того, у мене немає набору з п'яти спиці №3, а купувати заради одного проекту я їх не збиралася, тож коли набирала петлі для спинки, додала ще дві на крайні. Потім просто зшила шов (на нижньому фото; цю деталь було розплетено і перев'язано через помилку у візерунку, але щодо зшивання, ідея зрозуміла).

The yaarn used for the project - Cotton Soft from YarnArt, taken in two threads. The pullover took 311 gram of the yarn.

Пуловер сплетено з пряжі Cotton Soft від YarnArt в дві нитки. На пуловер пішло 311 грам пряжі.
