Blue Jersey Storyless Dress

I am surely Lady in Blue this season :-) When writing about the necklace in the previous post, I assumed that my loyalty to the blue palette during last months was explained by the absence of a real winter. In a few days winter reminded about itself with frost and snow and it became clear it wasn't exactly the thing I had missed indeed. So I have no explanation, it happened occasionally :-)

All the story of this dress sewing is very simple and ordinary. I saw a model, I liked it, I saw fabric, I liked it. I bought the fabric, I sawed the dress. That's all :-) Of course, I can to spread the story to some degree... For example, I liked the fabric much before than saw the model because I had already sewed from it last year. It was this red garment. I did like the fabric: it not only looks well it also is awesome while wearing so I didn't mind working with it again. But by the moment when I liked the model, this was the only acceptable colour on offer so I liked it :-)

Сукня з блакитного джерсі, або Сукня без історії

Цього сезону я справжня Жінка в Синьому :-) В попередньому дописі про намисто я припустила, що моя відданість блакитному та синьому кольорам протягом останніх місяців пояснюється відсутністю справжньої зими. За декілька днів зима нагадала про себе морозом і снігом і стало очевидним, що це не зовсім те, за чим я сумувала. Тож жодних пояснень у мене немає - це вийшло випадково :-)

Вся історія пошиття цієї сукні дуже проста і звичайна. Побачила модель - вона мені сподобалася, побачила тканину - вона мені сподобалася. Купила тканину, пошила сукню. Це все :-) Звісно, я можу викласти все трохи детальніше... Наприклад, тканина мені сподобалася набагато раніше ніж я побачила модель, тому що я вже з неї шила минулого року це червоне вбрання. Тканина мені і справді сподобалася: вона не лише гарно виглядає, вона чудово носиться, тому я була б не проти попрацювати з нею знову. Але на момент, коли мені трапилася модель, це був єдиний (з двох:-)) прийнятний для мене колір у продажу. Отже він мені і сподобався :-)

The model #116 from Burda 9/2018. To tell the true, Burda doesn't let me give up on sewing. Last several months every issue has the model I must make. So I just have no choice but follow my love for tailoring :-)

As I'd already worked with the fabric and knew its features, I could simplify the sewing. Firstly, I didn't need to line the dress. Secondly, the fabric is so dense that there is no need to reinforce it with the interfacing and, on the  same reason, I didn't have to oversew the edges. Thanking to the latter fact, the gathering of the edges was avoided so the ironing was quite simple.

Модель 116 з Burda 9/2018. Правду ніде діти, Burda не дає мені можливості відмовитися від пошиття. Останні декілька місяців кожне число має модель, яку я просто зобов'язана выдтворити. Тому  у мене немає іншого вибору як слідувати моїй любові до кравецтва:-)

Оскільки я вже працювала з цією тканиною і знаю її особливості, це дозволило спростити пошиття. По-перше, не треба було садити сукню на підкладку; по-друге, тканина така щільна, що не було потреби зміцнювати її та, з цієї ж самої причини, обійшлося без обметування країв. Завдяки цьому останньому факту, мені вдалося уникнути стягування країв, тож прасування було доволі простим.

Ці сережки були зроблені саме до цієї сукні.

Despite the pretty complex construction the sewing wasn't hard. But the back required special attention and trying on, after which, I deepened all the back reliefs on the curvy parts of the seams and deepened the neck hole on the centre.

I also cut the bands (details #7 and #8) one size smaller because after the stitching they stretch enough to fit well. Then adjusted the side seams of the bodice and the skirt to the new size of the band. 

Хоча конструкція доволі складна, пошиття таким не було. Але спинка вимагала особливої уваги та примірки, після якої я поглибила всі рельєфи спинки на вигнутих частина швів і поглибила виріз горловини по центру.

Також я покроїла деталі пояса на розмір менше, тому що після притачування вони розтягуються достатньо для гарної посадки. Вже потім вирівняла бокові шви верхньої частини та спідниці сукні по новій лінії пояса.

On all the seam allowances along the neckline I made the cuts to get better fitting of the neckhole (it is, in fact, one single piece collar). The next step I forgot to do  (I still can correct the mistake and probably will) but I surely recommend to do this if not to line the dress. The pattern of the facing should be changed (see the red line). Because while wearing such a neckhole will never stay in its place and will open. If the facing is not wide enough, the wrong side of the dress will be seen.

На всіх припусках на шви вздовж лінії шиї, я зробила надрізи для кращої посадки (оскільки це, фактично, цільнокроєний комір). Наступний крок я забула зробити (але я можу виправити помилку і. можливо. виправлю), але рекомендую це зробити, якщо сукня без підкладки. Варто змінити форму обшивки. Тому що  такий виріз ніколи не триматиметься на місті під час носіння сукні, він відкриватиметься і тоді виворітна сторона буде помітна, якщо обшивка не достатньо широка.

This time I didn't top stitched the dress although make it almost always. The sleeves' and skirts' hems were processed with slip stitch.

Цього разу не відстрочувала сукню хоча роблю це майже завжди. Низ рукавів і спідниці було підшито потайним швом.

Frosty Ornament Necklace I

I have a real nature calendar here, in my blog :-) Looked through the projects inspired by winter and was reminded about the 19 degrees below zero frost that we had in the end of 2016 January... This year we had no classic winter at all so right because of its lack I probably attached to the blue colour in the beginning of the year and, particularly, to the blue sparkles :-) 

I hope this new piece of jewellery will be only the first element of the planned necklace and I am going to add some embellishment to the pendant (I even didn't cut the thread on it to be ready to continue as soon as am sure what I really want). However, in this way the necklace is totally wearable and I like it.

Намисто "Морозний візерунок" І

У мене тут у блозі справжній календар природи :-) Переглядала проекти навіяні зимовим натхненням і побачила, що в кінці січня 2016 року у нас тут було -19 градусів морозу... Цього року класичної зими ми так і не дочекалися, тож можливо саме через її брак, на початку року я переважно і прив'язана до блакитного кольору  і, особливо, до блакитного мерехтіння:-) Розраховую, що це намисто стане лише першим елементом від запланованого і я збираюся трохи прикрасити кулон (я навіть нитку не зрізала з нього, щоб продовжити роботу, щойно буду впевнена чого я хочу). Проте, в такому вигляді намисто вже повністю носибельне і мені подобається.

As soon as I got the rivoli, and moreover, as soon as I unpack the parcel, I bezeled the stone. I don't remember quicker start indeed. I made it with embroidery technique. The continuation of the work was postponed to think over the next steps.

Щойно я отримала ріволі, більш того, щойно розпакувала посилку, я одразу оплела ріволі. Не пам'ятаю, щоб колись робота починалася так швидко. Я це зробила в техніці вишивки. Продовження роботи було відкладено для обмірковування подальших кроків.

The thinking over dragged on no less than two weeks :-) When I came back to the pendant I changed m mind as for the way of the bezeling and made it in RAW technique :-)

Обмірковування затягнулося не менше ніж на два тижні :-) Коли повернулася до роботи, передумала щодо обплетення і зробила його в "хрестик" :-)

The pause was not spent in vain, I learned new technique to make a rope to the pendant. It was St. Petersburg chain (as for me it just look like a fur tree branch). But when I changed the bezeling, it became obvious that the rope must  be of different kind as well to match the pendant's, let's say, texture. So today in the morning I learned new technique - Tubular Chenille Stitch by this tutorial - and beaded the rope. I got what I wanted indeed.

Паузу не було змарновано, я вивчила нову техніку, щоб сплести джгут до кулону. Це St. Petersburg chain (хоча, як на мене, більше схоже на гілку ялинки). Але, коли я змінила обплетку ріволі, стало зрозуміло, що джгут має бути іншим, щоб пасувати до, скажімо так, текстури кулону. Тож сьогодні вранці я вивчила ще одну техніку - Tubular Chenille Stitch за цим майстер класом - і сплела вже гожий джгут. Вийшло саме те, що хотіла.

Frozen Lavender, or Offline Sweater

I already have a Frozen Lavender Set of Jewelry and Frozen Lavender Dress and, as this new item has the same colour style, I think the same name will be the best idea for it as well :-) I started its knitting last November. At that moment I was in the mood of shortening the time spending in the Internet. I thought as Google is going to shut down G+, it would be good for me instead of developing activity in some other net, just to start knitting a sweater. I could choose any other of my favourite needle crafts but knitting or crocheting are the most mobile of them and don't need any special space arrangement or some extra attention if the pattern is so simple as mine is. Thus I was making it for one, two or three hours per evening, not every day but more or less often, right instead of staying on line. And here it is.

The Triangle seed beads Necklace and the Morning in the Castle Pendant enliven the plainness of the sweater.

Светр "Замерзла лаванда", або "Офлайн" Светр

У мене вже є сукня "Замерзла Лаванда" і набір прикрас "Замерзла лаванда" та, оскільки цей новий предмет гардеробу витриманий в тій самій кольоровій гамі, думаю така сама назва буде для нього так само найкращою :-) Я почала його плести минулого листопада. На той момент у мене був настрій скоротити перебування в Інтернеті. Я подумала, оскільки Google закриває G+, то мені, замість розвивати діяльність в якійсь іншій соціальній мережі, краще буде просто розпочати плести светр. Я могла обрати будь який з моїх улюблених видів рукотворів, але плетіння на спицях або гачком - наймобільніші з них, не потребують спеціального облаштування простору і якоїсь понаднормовою уваги, якщо модель така ж проста як у мене. Тож я його плела годину, дві, три на вечір, не щодня, але більш чи менш часто, саме замість того, щоб проводити час в мережі. І ось він на мені.

Джгут ндебеле з трикутного бісеру та кулон "Світанок у Замку" пожвавлюють простоту светра. 

The model #24 from Verena, Autumn 2014. The yarn Alize Angora Special was bought for this pattern and, despite I searched for some other variants and even made a couple of swatches for them, finally I came back to this one. I only think it was worthy to knit the sweater one size smaller but, on the other hand, I like its slight fitting, it looks soft and flatters the figure anyway.

Модель 24 з Verena, Осінь 2014. Пряжу Alize Angora Special було куплено спеціально для цієї моделі і, хоча я і шукала інші варіанти і навіть сплела декілька зразків, зрештою повернулася до неї. Я тільки думаю, що варто було плести светр на розмір менше. З іншого боку, мені подобається його помірне облягання, він виглядає м'яким і все одно окреслює фігуру. 

I followed the pattern mainly but to avoid the rolling of the hems, made them doubled.

Переважно плела за інструкцією, але, щоб уникнути закручування низу зробила його подвійним і для основної частини і для рукавів.

To make the sleeves' pleats I baste the row with witch I had to join the current one. I joined it with a hook. I didn't look for any helping video so maybe there are other ways to knit this elements. I also made pleats one by one without any distance. 

Щоб зробити складки на рукавах я проклала наметку вздовж ряду, до якого мала приєднати поточний. З'єднувала гачком. Жодних відео з допомогою не шукала, тому можливо є інші способи робити цей елемент. Крім того, складки робила одну за одною без відстані.

Faux Shearling Hat

A lot of leftovers from my Faux Shearling Coat produced a bunch of ideas to use them as soon as possible to have less in stash and the primary of those ideas was to make a hat to match the coat. It is a very quick project. Together with tracing the pattern and cutting it took no more than two hours to sew, maybe even less.

The red scarf was made many years ago by Kim Guzman's pattern which is now available from here.

Шапка зі штучної замші

Від пальта зі штучної замші залишилося багато обрізків тканини і це подарувало декілька ідей щодо їхнього використання і якнайшвидше, щоб якомога менше залишалося в клумках з клаптиками, які немає де зберігати. Найпершою з тих ідей було пошити шапку до пальта. Це дуже швидкий проект: разом з перезніманням викрійки та кроєм на пошиття пішло не більше двох годин, може і менше.

Червоний шарф було сплетено багато років тому за моделлю від Kim Guzman, зараз модель можна взяти тут. 

The pattern was taken from a very old Burda issue, probably the first I've ever bought, 6/1988. I was 18 then and now I am 48. The woman's beauty and Burda's patterns have no expiration data :-)

All the seams I stitched on the sewing machine with the fur edges on the right side. The basting is possible but with bias stitches not let the fabric move. I could to hide the side seams inside, exactly like it was made for the hem in the coat but then decided not to bother about that. 

Викрійку знайшла в старому числі Burda, мабуть першому, яке я купила в своєму житті, 6/1988. Мені тоді було 18, а зараз 48. Жіноча краса і викрійки Burda мають необмежений термін придатності :-) Всі шви я построчила на машинці з хутряними краями на лицеву сторону. Зметування можливе, але косими стібками, щоб тканина не перекошувалася. Бокові шви можна було сховати всередину так як це було зроблено для підшивки низу пальта, але я вирішила цим не перейматися.

To get a completed view I added a brim to the hat and to cut it use the pattern of the cuff for the coat. I guess the hat can be worn on both sides although I didn't try.

Для завершеного вигляду я додала до шапки закот, а щоб його покроїти скористалася викрійкою манжети від пальта. Думаю, шапку можна на обидві сторони, але я не пробувала.
