My blog's main subjects are sewing, the thing in which I am experienced the most, and beadwork, which is, in fact, pushed me into blogging. I am also engaged in knitting and crocheting. All together they are the set of skills which I use to make my wardrobe my whole life. These are not my only interests, I also like the English language (that's one of the reasons that my blog is bilingual), try to travel around my country and abroad (when can afford it), am interested in art (to the degree of a dilettante but nevertheless) and adore the people who can create anything beautiful or useful whatever it is :-) So welcome to a needlecrafter diary!
It is a quick, simple sewing project with a practical outcome, made purposely to complete my tropical fabric ensemble. The latter is undoubted because I will hardly be wearing such a bright item on its own, even while I was sewing this tank top, my eyes were sore. I actually cannot make those who are watching me in it feel the same :-)

Це швидкий, простий проєкт із практичним результатом, створений спеціально, щоб доповнити мій комплект зі штапелю з тропічним візерунком. Останнє є безсумнівним, бо навряд чи я носитиму цю річ як самостійну адже у мене очі боліли навіть поки я цю майку шила, тож не можу приректи тих, хто дивитиметься на мене в ній на такі самі муки:-)
To make the top, I chose pattern Burda PDF #6672A. It is a plus-size pattern starting with size 46, so I cut it without seam allowance to get it smaller. On the other hand, I didn't want to have it tight as it's neither a nice nor a comfortable look or feeling.
I changed the processing of the neckholes and armholes. As I didn't know how deep they would look with interfacing, I decided to make them with neck/arm binding instead.
In the photos, the top is paired with a denim skirt and a viscose ensemble, which I will describe in the next posts.
Для пошиття майки я обрала модель Burda PDF 6672А. Це викрійка для плюссайз, починаючи з розміру 46 (наш 52), тож я покроїла її без припусків на шви, щоб вийшла трохи менше.
Змінила обробку горловини та пройм. Оскільки не уявляла, наскільки глибокими вони будуть оброблені обшивками, вирішила замість обшивок обробити бейками.
З іншого боку, не хотілося, щоб прилягало, оскільки це ані виглядає гарно, ані не відчувається зручно.
На фото майку скомбіновано з джинсовою спідницею та комплектом з віскози, про який розповім в наступних дописах.
Two more projects were made in December but the sharing was postponed on some reasons, or, more likely, without any worthy to be mentioned here :-) First of them is a knitted hat, as my new stunning coat needed to be complete with it to be worn in colder season. I didn't have much time to make it, and wanted to use the yarn remnants from the previoius projects so the hat pattern had to be simple. Confetti Crush pattern from garnstudio Drops Design meets those requiements entirely. To be honest, I didn't think a lot about the hat's model and used the first one I came across on their site.
The hat is knitted with two threads, pink and white. I knitted the hat flat and then sewed, as it is quicker for me, with less number of cast stitches as my tenshion was different from the site's.
The ready item is warm and beautiful, and matches the coat perfectly.

Ще два проєкти було створено в грудні, але поділитися я ними не встигла з різних причин, або, вірогідніше, без жодних, про які тут варто згадувати :-) Перший з них - це плетена на спицях шапка, оскільки моє нове приголомшливе пальто треба було нею доповнити аби одягати в холодні місяці. У мене не було багато часу на плетіння і хотіла використати залишки пряжі від минулих виробів, тому модель мала бути простою. Тож Confetti Crush pattern from garnstudio Drops Design. цілком відповідала цим критеріям. Насправді, я не переймалася вибором моделі і використала першу яку побачила на їхньому сайті.
Шапку связано двома нитками, рожевою і білою. Плела її розгорнуто а потім зшила, тому що мені так швидше, з меншою кількістю набраних петель оскільки щільність плетіння у мене трохи відрізняється від опису на сайті. Готовий виріб гарний, теплий і чудово пасує до пальта.
During few weeks I yet coped to compile a new video about mt current projects. This video tells about modest prograss in knitting my Cardigan, sewing velvet dress #115 from Burda12/2019 and mini fabric haul which is actually the only joyful thing here :-).

If it is possible to say, I am a fan of Alize Yarn channel on YouTube, at least a subscriber :-) It's on the simple reason that their yarn is available and affordable for me to buy here. The brand's designers and knitters are very creative, and despite their tutorials are in Turkish, using the subtitles and charts it is not hard to follow the demonstration. I am fond of plenty of their models but as soon as I saw this Knit Patchwork Sweater, I ordered the yarn at once and after getting the parcel started knitting without a moment of procrastination.

Якщо можна так сказати, я фанатка каналу Alize на YouTube, принаймні, підписниця :-) Причина цього дуже проста - ця пряжа доступна для мене тут і по наявності асортименту і по грошах. Дизайнери фірми дуже творчі люди і, незважаючи на те, що їхні майстер класи турецькою, використовуючи субтитри і схеми, не так і важко слідкувати за демонстрацію. Мені подобаються багато їхніх моделей, але щойно я побачила цей плетений клаптиковий светр, одразу замовила пряжу і, отримавши посилку, без жодних зволікань стала до роботи.
I ordered yarn exactly of the same colours and after the motifs were ready joined them exactly in the same way as they are in the video. The only things I changed, I added a couple of rows to every patch to get a bit longer waistcoat.
Я замовила точно такі кольори пряжі і, як мотиви були готові, з'єднала їх так само як у відео. Єдине, що я змінила, я додала пару рядків до кожного "клаптику", щоб жилет вийшов трохи довший.
The waistcoat is very comfortable, soft, warm, and cozy. It was knitted quite quick.In the photos the waistcoat is paired with a green skirt, white blouse and decorated with Bee Brooch.
Having in mind the scene of the photo session and the occasion the sweater was put on the first time, it should be called Wine Buds, actually :-) But on the other hand, the work on the sweater doesn't concern my participation in a Saturday social event, or, to be exact, a degustation in a cozy wine cellar, so let them be Winter ones :-) As it often happens, the knitting of the garment was planned long ago and the idea of making it in two colours was defined at once but, after years of thinking over suitable patterns, the sweater was made quite quick and unexpected and by the unlooked-for model #29 from Sabrina 12/2021 magazine. The issue itself appeared in my library unforeseen too. It happened only because I wanted to save a little on the delivery of one of Burda issues which I have to order from Kyiv as during the war they don't sell new magazines here. So when ordering Burda I ask for one or two more magazines and as the issues on sewing, which I don't have in my library, are over, I had to add a knitting magazine which I even couldn't look through. Fortunately, it was a lucky choice :-)
One more surprise concerns the jewelry, my quite old net earrings made just because of curiosity and never worn before matched the sweater very well.

Якщо взяти до уваги місце фотосесії та нагоду, з якої цей светр було одягнуто перший раз, варто було б назвати його "Винні бутони", але, оскільки робота над ним жодного стосунку до мого суботнього виходу в люди, а точніше, в затишний винний погріб на дегустацію не мають, нехай вже будуть "Зимові" :-) Як часто трапляється, виготовлення виробу планувалося дуже давно і одразу ж таки було визначено, що він буде двокольоровий, але, після років обмірковування гожих моделей, светр зробився доволі швидко і неочікувано та ще і за непередбачуваною моделлю 29 з Sabrina 12/2021. Саме видання теж з'явилося в моїй бібліотеці несподівано і лише через те, що я намагалася зекономити на доставці одного з журналів Burda, які доводиться замовляти у видавництві, оскільки нових журналів під час війни тут не продають. Тож замовляючи Burda додаю ще один два журнали, а оскільки видання з шиття, яких у мене немає, вже закінчилися, довелося замовити журнал, який я навіть не мала змоги переглянути, з плетіння. На щастя, з вибором я вгадала :-)
Ще один сюрприз стосується прикрас. Мої доволі давні сітчасті сережки сплетені лише через цікавість і жодного разу раніше не надягнені, добре підійшли до светра.
The initial model, as it seen from the photo, is very picturesque but I used only my planned two colours of Alize Lanagold Classic yarn. Knitting needles 4 and 5. Size 42-44. New thing for me here was the knitting of short rows and I managed well.
Початкова модель, як видно на фото, дуже різнобарвна, але я використала лише два мої заплановані кольори пряжі Alize Lanagold Classic. Спиці № 4 та 5. Розмір 42-44. Новим для мене було плести вкорочені ряди, але я добре впоралася.
After blocking the details, I thought I could make smaller size despite my gauge was the same as in the magazine. It took a little less than four skeins of grey and about two skeins of rosy yarn to knit the sweater.
Після відпарювання деталей подумала, що можна було плести менший розмір, хоча моя щільність плетіння така сама як в журналі. На светр пішло трохи менше чотирьох мотків сірої і біля двох мотків рожевої пряжі.
I am glad I finished the sweater right on the time to wear to that event in a nice place with my good friends. It surely added festive spirit to the process of study the correct way of wine drinking :-)
Я рада, що закінчила светр саме вчасно, щоб одягнути на ту подію в гарне місце з моїми добрими друзями. Це, без сумніву, додало святкового настрою до процесу вивчення правильного способу споживання вина :-)
I have two long stories about these projects but as both of them are time consuming and the terms of their finishing are quite vague, I just post them here to say I am alive as well as my diary of a needlecrafter :-)
Маю дві довгі історії про ці проекти, але оскільки вони обидва займуть багато часу і терміни закінчення роботи над ними доволі непевні, цей допис лише заради того, щоб повідомити, що я жива так само як і мій щоденник рукотворниці :-)
The sweater was made during winter holidays. Yesterday I managed to persuade my mom to take photos of it. It seems to be a good idea to make a couple of posts devoted to my needlecrafts as, despite every day shootings, we urgently need to feel that life is going on.
Светр сплела на зимових канікулах, але лише вчора вдалося вмовити маму сфотографувати мене в ньому. Зробити пару дописів присвячених моїм рукотворам здається гарною ідеєю, оскільки нам конче потрібно відчувати, що, незважаючи на щоденні обстріли, життя триває.
There is no much to tell about the work on the sweater as, firstly, it is made only thanking to my obsession with the yarn's colour and, secondly, its pattern was chosen not because I love it but because it was the one I could afford to knit of four skeins of this yarn. Thus among the patterns of cropped loose sweaters I had at hand, model #17 from Sabrina 12/2017 became the favourite:-)
Про роботу над светром немає що особливо розповідати оскільки, по-перше, він зроблений лише завдяки моєму захопленню кольором цієї пряжі і, по-друге, його модель було обрано не тому, що вона мені аж так подобалася, а через те, що була єдиною, яку я могла дозволити собі сплести з чотирьох мотків цієї пряжі. Ось так серед моделей вкорочених светрів вільного крою які були у мене під рукою, ця #17 з "Сабріна" 12/2017, стала моєю улюбленою:-)
The story, if I really want to tell any here:-), has three worthy to mention points which I am going to unite. The third one is the true reason why this sweater was finished earlier than the winter ended :-) This year I've got very sweet... stuff as a birthday present from my nieces. After some googling I found out it is called a wooden folding knitting basket. At once I put my on-the needles-sweater in it and thought that the work would be much more enjoyable and faster now :-) According to Sweater's Ravelry page the knitting was started on December 14 but didn't go as quickly as it could be. So the basket appearance became a very pushing aspect to finish it indeed.
Here the sweater is paired with my all time favourite trousers #107 from Burda 11/2015 which I like so much that stopped wearing not have them worn:-) I didn't think much if any jewelry is needed here and chose Sea Wheel earrings just because of their colour style.
Светр "М'ятна цукерка"
Історія, якщо мені насправді хочеться тут хоч якусь розповідати :-), має три вартих уваги моменти, які збираюся об'єднати. Третій з них є справжньою причиною, чому светр було доплетено раніше ніж закінчилася зима :-) Цього року мої племінниці подарували мені на день народження дуже милу... штучку. Погуглила трохи і знайшла таке визначення "дерев'яний складний кошик для в'язання". Я одразу поклала в нього светр, який мала на спицях і подумала, що тепер робота над ним триватиме набагато приємніше і швидше:-) Відповідно до светрової сторінки на Ravelry плетіння почалося 14 грудня, але йшло повільніше ніж хотілося б. Тож поява кошика стала справжнім спонукальним поштовхом до його закінчення.
Тут светр скомбіновано з моїми улюбленцями всіх часів і народів штанами 107 з Burda 11/2015, які мені так подобаються, що я їх припинила одягати, щоб не зношувалися:-) Не дуже я переймалася чи потрібні тут прикраси і обрала сережки "Штурвал" лише через кольорову гаму.
The next link to my earlier projects is concerned the Colour Block Scarf made about half a year ago. Among the variety of its colours I liked the pastel mint so much that bought more yarn to knit a sweater.
Наступне посилання до моїх ранішніх проектів стосується шарфа "Кольорові блоки", сплетеного майже півтори роки тому. Серед розмаїття його кольорів пастельна м'ята настільки мені сподобалася, що я купила ще пряжі, щоб сплести светр.
The choice of the pattern was not so quick. As none of the ideas attracted me enough to start the knitting last year, the yarn was put in the bag to wait for its right moment. Final choice of the pattern # 15 from Sabrina 1/2019 (Ukrainian edition) has nothing in common with those I had planned to make before. And I am very happy with the outcome.
Вибір моделі не був таким скорим. Оскільки жодна з ідей не вабила достатньо, щоб розпочати плетіння минулого року, пряжу відправила в пакет чекати слушного моменту. Кінцевий вибір моделі 15 з "Сабріна" 1/2019 (українське видання) не має нічого спільного з тим, що я планувала зробити на початку. І я дуже задоволена результатом зміненої ідеї.
It is an oversized model which I made 10 cm longer. I was lucky to have the gauge almost as in the magazine. There was one embarrassing moment in the work concerning the decreasing of the shoulder. I didn't need last decrease 3x4 st. The shoulder was ready without it.
Це модель оверсайз, яку я подовжила на 10 см. Пощастило, що щільність плетіння майже така сама як і в журналі. Один був бентежний момент, який стосувався збавок плеча. Мені не знадобилася остання збавка 3х4 петлі, плече було готове без неї.
I knitted size 40/42 but blocked the piece for size 36/38. It is enough oversized for me not to look square :-) My sweater's neckhole differs from the magazine's but I even like it better in this way. The sweater took 620 grams of the yarn. Fortunately, I bought 6 skeins and had some leftovers from the scarf.
Плела розмір 40/42, а відпарювала на розмір 36/38. Це для мене достатній оверсайз щоб не виглядати квадратною:-) Виріз горловини виглядає у мого светра не так як в журналі, але мені так навіть більше подобається. На светр пішло 620 грамів пряжі. На щастя, купила 6 мотків і ще у мене були залишки від шарфа.
To look brighter and merrier the skirt is possible for the pairing, too.
Щоб виглядало яскравіше і веселіше, можна також комбінувати светр зі спідницею.
The hat, obviously, has nothing in common with kissing, the name is just a reverence for the pattern from DropsDesign used as a prototype and that is called Lavender Kiss :-) I know it is winter now but it didn't feel like it is here. But on Thursday despite of absence of snow and frost, the air became so cold that reminded at once about the real season and I suddenly realised that probably I should make a warm hat matching my fabulous Colour Block Super Scarf which I wear very often, by the way. The yarn was bought right after the scarf was ready so these Friday and Saturday nights were spent for the knitting.
Шапка "Небесний цілунок"
Шапка, вочевидь, жодного стосунку до цілунків не має, це просто реверанс у бік DropsDesign, чию модель використано як прототип і яка у них називається "Лавандовий цілунок" :-) Я знаю, що зараз зима, але тут цього не відчувалося. Проте, у четвер, незважаючи на відсутність снігу і морозу, повітря стало таким холодним, що одразу нагадало, яка зараз пора року і я раптом зрозуміла, що мені все ж таки варто зробити теплу шапку у пару до мого надзвичайного супер шарфу "Кольорові блоки", який я, до речі, надягаю дуже часто. Пряжу було куплено ще по закінченню роботи над шарфом, тож ці п'ятничний і суботній вечори було витрачено на плетіння.
The hat was knitted in three threads: one Alize LanaGold Classic and two Alize Kid Mohair, knitting needles 4. My hat differs from DropsDesign's but I used the way of decreasing and the idea of garter stitch band from them so without it I wouldn't manage. I started with 92 stitches because my thread is thicker and I knitted the hat flat so needed two edge stitches. The band is double for warmth. The decreasing was started with their round 3 and with 2 sts tog then 7 k. As I knitted flat in this way it looks neater.
Шапку сплетено в три нитки: одна Alize LanaGold Classic і дві Alize Kid Mohair, спиці №4. Моя шапка відрізняється від тієї, що на сайті DropsDesign, але я використала їхній спосіб убування петель та ідею планки платочною в'язкою, тож без них я б не впоралася. Набрала 92 петлі, тому що моя нитка товстіша і плела пласко, тому знадобилися кінцеві петлі. Планка подвійна для тепла. Убування почала з їхнього 7 ряду і в іншому порядку: 2 л. разом потім 7 л. Оскільки плела не по колу, так це виглядає охайніше.
Today I am very glad with my outcome and gladly share it here. But, in fact, I knitted two hats. The first one was finished yesterday and unpicked almost at once as it turned to be too big. So late at night yesterday I started the second time and finished today at about lunch time.
Сьогодні я дуже задоволена результатом і з радістю тут ним ділюся. Але насправді я сплела дві шапки. Першу було закінчено вчора і майже одразу розплетено, тому що виявилася надто великою. Тому так само вчора пізно вночі почала плести другий варіант, який і закінчила вже сьогодні десь до обіду.
It seems I haven't made red dresses for quite long... :-) And have none in the nearest plans. So I guess it is a decent cause to knit a red sweater instead:-) Despite my yarn stash occupies the hole shelf in my workshop's cabinets it consists mostly of the remnants good for knitting or crocheting some home decor trifles and there are only three packs to make three items of clothes there. So it is not the stash of a crazy knitter or crocheter although I used to have periods of being the one.
This red yarn (one of my favourite, Alize Lanagold) was bought occasionally last year when I dropped in our local hobby store to buy something necessary what wasn't there at that moment :-) As it is my knitting time now, I went on with making this sweater. It was a quick choosing of the pattern and quick knitting as well - all the work took me just two weeks! The model is plain but it is exactly what I wanted to get from this yarn.
Червоний светр з вирізом мисом
Щось я вже давно не шила собі червоних суконь... :-) І не маю жодної в найближчих планах. Тож думаю, це пристойна причина, щоб натомість сплести червоний светр:-) Хоча запаси пряжі займають цілу полицю у шафі моєї майстерні, складаються вони переважно з залишків гожих лише для плетіння чи то гачком чи на спицях лише якихось милих дурниць для домашнього декору і є лише три упаковки пряжі призначених для плетіння трьох предметів одягу. Тож це - не запаси скаженої в'язальниці, хоча у мене колись подібні періоди траплялися.
Цю червону пряжу (одну з моїх улюблених, Alize Lanagold) я випадково купила минулого року, коли заходила в нашу місцеву крамницю, щоб купити щось необхідне, чого там в той момент не було:-) Оскільки зараз мій час плетіння, я його продовжила роботою над цим светром. І вибір моделі і сам процес були швидкими - на всю роботу пішло два тижні! Модель простенька, але це саме те, що я хотіла отримати з цієї пряжі.
The pattern Flamenco from DropsDesign. I knitted L size as my gauge was 17 stitches in 10 cm instead of their 16. I also refused from balloon sleeves and made them wide evenly from the ribs up to the top as my yarn is quite thick and I didn't want to look square while wearing the sweater with such sleeves. On the same reason I lengthened the sweater for 3 cm, such a proportions suit me better.
Модель Flamenco від DropsDesign. Я плела розмір L, тому що щільність плетіння у мене 17 петель на 10 см замість їхніх 16. Також я відмовилася від рукавів балонів і зробила їх рівномірно широкими від "реберець" до верху оскільки пряжа у мене доволі товста і я не хотіла виглядати квадратною, коли одягатиму цей светр. З цієї ж причини я його подовжила на 3 см: така пропорція для мене краща.
I like the idea to knit the neck hole bands with garter stitch at the same time with back and front parts. This typical for Dropsdesign method simplifies and makes the process of work much faster and always gives neat outcome. Thank you, designers!
Мені подобається ідея плести планки вирізу платочним візерунком водночас з передньою і задньою частинами. Цей типовий для Dropsdesign метод спрощує і прискорює процес роботи і завжди дає охайний результат. Дякую дизайнерів!
As it is clear from the photo, I didn't knit round, all the details were made separately and then sewed. Maybe because I am a faormer tailor, I am much better in sewing than in round knitting. I also like the idea of the around decreasing/increasing instead of the sides' for shaping the details. After finishing I though I could make one more decrease/increase for more fitting but that OK as it is.
З фото видно, що я не плела светр по колу, всі деталі сплетені окремо і потім зшиті. Може через те, що я колишня кравчиня, але з пошиттям у мене набагато краще ніж з круговим плетінням. Мені також подобається ідея зі збавками/набавками по колу замість уздовж боків для надання форми виробу. Вже закінчивши роботу, я подумала, що мені варто було зробити ще один збавок/набавку для більшого прилягання, але так як є, теж добре.
It is knitting time again and, despite the season is not over yet, I have already got a new scarf :-) It was not difficult to knit but took some time to make - two weeks. There was none source of inspiration for making it but wish to wrap oneself into something soft and cosy and rejoice in diversity of colours. As for the latter I have some consideration, though... I could never understand why when it is getting colder, the weather stops being pleasant and the nature loses colours, people prefer wearing dark clothes. Crowds of us, worn in black grey brown & Co look not lively. And surely observing that doesn't add cheerfulness to the daily routine. So, to some degree, this my project is my investment into the idea of painting the cold and gloomy winter world :-) On my Ravelry profile I have a pile of favourite models with the tag #technique. There are many of them which I've never tried but hope to do one day so this scarf became an excellent chance and practice to learn a new kind of knitting for me. I guess I can say I posess it now well enough:-) The outcome is quite awesome, isn't it?
Шарф у техніці бріош "Кольорові блоки"
Знову настав час плетіння, і хоча сезон ще не закінчився, у мене вже є новий шарф:-) Плести було не важко, але трохи часу зайняло - два тижні. Жодних джерел натхнення, крім бажання загорнутися у щось м'якеньке і затишне та порадувати себе розмаїттям кольорів, не було. Хоча, щодо останнього, у мене є деякі міркування... Ніколи не могла зрозуміти, чому, коли стає холодніше, погода припиняє бути приємною, а природа втрачає фарби, люди надають перевагу темним кольорам. Натовпи нас, одягнутих у чорне, темно-сіре, коричневе і таке подібне, не виглядають аж надто життєрадісно. І це вже напевно, не додає бадьорості щоденній рутині. Тож, до певної міри, цей проект - мій вклад у розфарбовування холодного і похмурого світу зими :-) На сайті Ravelry у мене є купа вподобаних моделей з маркуванням #technique.Технік, яких я ніколи не пробувала, але сподіваюся хоч колись освоїти, там багатенько, тож цей шарф став ще і прекрасною нагодою навчитися плести і оволодіти новим для мене видом плетіння. Думаю, можна вважати, що попрактикувалася доволі добре:-) Результат чудовий, чи не так ?
The idea and the model was taken on Drops design site. The technique has at least two names: brioche and, more clear and known for me since childhood, English ribs.
Ідею і модель було запозичено на Drops design site. Техніка має щонайменше дві назви: бріош і, більш зрозуміла і знайома мені з дитинства, англійскі реберця ("резинка").
I've never tried it before despite knowing about it since started knitting. So at first I had to learn. The tutorials for both kinds (mono and two-coloured) techniques can be found on the same page with the scarf pattern. I took big knitting needles and made a sample, cannot say it was perfect from the first try as well as from the second:-)
Ніколи не пробувала її, хоча і знаю про неї з того часу, як почала плести. Тож спочатку довелося навчитися. Майстер класи для обох видів техніки (одно- і двокольорової) знаходяться на тій самій сторінці, що і модель. я взяла великі спиці і зробила зразок, не можу сказати, що він був досконалий з першого разу, так само як і з другого.
The scarf itself was knitted with knitting needles 4.5. While knitting I also find the own way to define the colour of the next row. At first, I tried to put off my work only when both threads were on the same side, then the advice to start with the colour different from the edge stitch worked indeed. But then I saw that the last row always has two one after another stitches of the same colour so the next one must be knitted with the other.
Сам шарф сплетений на спицях № 4,5. Поки плела, також винайшла власний спосіб визначати колір наступного ряду. Спочатку намагалася відкладати роботу лише коли обидві нитки були з одного боку, тоді порада починати з кольору протилежного крайній петлі спрацьовувала. Але потім зрозуміла, що останній ряд має завжди дві підряд петлі одного кольору, тож наступний треба плести протилежним.
The size of my scarf is 2.85 m x 32 cm (if to stretch 38 cm). I also cannot but thank Eva Maria Keiser Designs who knows everything about colour combinations :-)

I already have a Frozen Lavender Set of Jewelry and Frozen Lavender Dress and, as this new item has the same colour style, I think the same name will be the best idea for it as well :-) I started its knitting last November. At that moment I was in the mood of shortening the time spending in the Internet. I thought as Google is going to shut down G+, it would be good for me instead of developing activity in some other net, just to start knitting a sweater. I could choose any other of my favourite needle crafts but knitting or crocheting are the most mobile of them and don't need any special space arrangement or some extra attention if the pattern is so simple as mine is. Thus I was making it for one, two or three hours per evening, not every day but more or less often, right instead of staying on line. And here it is.
У мене вже є сукня "Замерзла Лаванда" і набір прикрас "Замерзла лаванда" та, оскільки цей новий предмет гардеробу витриманий в тій самій кольоровій гамі, думаю така сама назва буде для нього так само найкращою :-) Я почала його плести минулого листопада. На той момент у мене був настрій скоротити перебування в Інтернеті. Я подумала, оскільки Google закриває G+, то мені, замість розвивати діяльність в якійсь іншій соціальній мережі, краще буде просто розпочати плести светр. Я могла обрати будь який з моїх улюблених видів рукотворів, але плетіння на спицях або гачком - наймобільніші з них, не потребують спеціального облаштування простору і якоїсь понаднормовою уваги, якщо модель така ж проста як у мене. Тож я його плела годину, дві, три на вечір, не щодня, але більш чи менш часто, саме замість того, щоб проводити час в мережі. І ось він на мені.
The model #24 from Verena, Autumn 2014. The yarn Alize Angora Special was bought for this pattern and, despite I searched for some other variants and even made a couple of swatches for them, finally I came back to this one. I only think it was worthy to knit the sweater one size smaller but, on the other hand, I like its slight fitting, it looks soft and flatters the figure anyway.
Модель 24 з Verena, Осінь 2014. Пряжу Alize Angora Special було куплено спеціально для цієї моделі, і хоча я і шукала інші варіанти і навіть сплела декілька зразків, зрештою повернулася до неї. Я тільки думаю, що варто було плести светр на розмір менше. З іншого боку, мені подобається його помірне облягання, він виглядає м'яким і все одно окреслює фігуру.
I followed the pattern mainly but to avoid the rolling of the hems, made them doubled.
Переважно плела за інструкцією, але щоб уникнути закручування низу, зробила його подвійним і для основної частини, і для рукавів.
To make the sleeves' pleats, I baste the row with which I had to join the current one. I joined it with a hook. I didn't look for any helpful video so maybe there are other ways to knit these elements. I also made pleats one by one without any distance.
Щоб зробити складки на рукавах, я проклала наметку вздовж ряду, до якого мала приєднати поточний. З'єднувала гачком. Жодних відео за допомогою не шукала, тому, можливо, є інші способи робити цей елемент. Крім того, складки робила одну за одною без відстані.
October turns out to be knitting & crocheting month. It is the fact mentioned only because all my this month's posts are connected with these kinds of handmade work. I hope to start the project that promises to be something new for me by its technique and I think it would be quite troubling so, to clear the consciousness at least a little, I decided to finish some of my UFOs (unfinished objects) :-). I have just few of them: one cross-stitched picture, one embroidered with seed beads, one set of jewellery and three days ago among them I also had this sweater with only-ribs-knitted-sleeves. When speaking about finishing the UFOs, I actually meant this very item. Firstly, the knitting was started in February and most of work was already done and, secondly, I just need a sweater. I cannot say I am very happy with the outcome but I am absolutely satisfied with the fact that the sweater is ready:-) Besides, as the yarn was bought on sale, not having on mind my work, it cost a little more than three dollars and from this point of view the result is perfect :-)
I decorated the outfit with the Sunflower pin, crocheted several years ago, and it added to the sweater some cheerful effect and consoled me a little :-)
Прилягаючий светр з пряжі "Magic Fine"
Жовтень виявився якимось місячником плетення на спицях і гачком. Цей факт згаданий лише тому, що всі мої дописи за жовтень пов'язані з цими видами рукотворів. Я сподіваюся розпочати проект, який обіцяє бути для мене новим по техніці виконання і, гадаю, буде доволі клопітким, тож, щоб хоч трохи очистити свідомість, я вирішила закінчити якійсь з моїх UFO (unfinished objects - незакінчених об'єктів). У мене їх небагато: одна картина вишита хрестиком, одна бісером, один набір прикрас і три дні тому з ними був ще цей светр на рівні зв'язаних реберець-кісок рукавів. Згадавши про закінчення відкладених проектів, я саме цей светр і мала на увазі. По-перше, це плетення почалося ще в лютому і більша частина роботи була виконана, а по-друге, мені просто потрібен светр.
Не можу сказати, що аж так дуже захоплена тим що вийшло, але вже напевно задоволена фактом того, що светр готовий:-) Крім того, оскільки пряжу було куплено на розпродажу, светр, без моєї роботи, обійшовся в сто гривень тож, з цієї точки зору, результат просто чудовий :-)
Я прикрасила вбрання брошкою "Соняшник", сплетеною декілька років тому, і це додало светрові безжурного настрою, а мене трохи втішило :-)
The yarn is Magic Fine from YarnArt. This colour style I liked best of all and, as soon as saw it, bought without thinking. But it turned out to be much more interesting in the skein than in the clothes. The main colour is so dark that looks grey, probably, it IS grey... But I wouldn't make a sweater of the yarn of this hue of grey, I don't like it. Then I bought two kinds of this yarn and the colour style of that "Berry" pullover I consider to be much better. As I already have the experience, I can say that the yarn is peeling pretty much from the first days of wearing.
So in the clothes this hue looks plain and it didn't correspond my expectation.
Пряжа Magic Fine від YarnArt. Ця кольорова гама подобалася мені найбільше, тому, щойно побачила пряжу, одразу купила без вагань. Але виявилося, що в мотках вона виглядає набагато гарнішою ніж в готовому одязі. Головний колір настільки темний, що видається сірим, він таки мабуть сірий і є... Але я б не плела светр з пряжі такого відтінку сірого, він мені не подобається. Тоді я купила два види цієї пряжі і кольорова гама того ягідного пуловеру виглядає набагато краще. Оскільки у мене вже є досвід, можу сказати, що пряжа сильно скочується з перших днів носіння.
Отже в одязі цей відтінок виглядає просто і він не виправдав моїх сподівань.
Instead of the rich pattern's collar I just cast on from the neck hole and purled two rows, then knitted about two cm of 2x2 cm ribs and the decreased every two purls for one, then knitted two more cm and cast off with a hook to have more stretching edge.
Замість багатого коміра моделі я просто набрала петлі з вирізу горловини, зв'язала два ряди зворотними петлями, потім десь два см реберцями 2х2, потім скоротила кожні дві зворотних петлі до однієї і зв'язала ще десь два см. Потім закрила петлі гачком, щоб край був більш еластичний.
The pattern was taken from a Japanese magazine. Despite I had the right gauge and size I knitted all the details longer for about 6-7 cm. From my previous experience I remember that their patterns are for a teenager type of women and I am not the one. After steaming and sewing the sweater looked nice... I wish it looks on me in the same way... But then I had to knit it probably three sizes bigger and have no curves and I am not sure I would have exactly what I wanted as well :-)
Модель було взято з японського журналу. Хоча у мене і щільність плетення і розмір були відповідні, всі деталі я плела на 6-7 см довші. З мого попереднього досвіду пам'ятаю, що їхні моделі розраховані на тип жінки підлітка, а я вже точно не одна з них. Після відпарювання і зшивання светр виглядав гарно... Хотілося б щоб і на мені виглядав так само... Але тоді мабуть треба було плести його на три розміри більше і не мати жодних вигинів, але не думаю, що тоді вийшло б саме те що мені хотілося :-)
