Dresden Memories Pendant

 

Something switched in my head so after stringing Simple Shapes Necklace the process of renovating was postponed and I jumped to my ancient idea to make a pendant using the ticket to Zvinger Palace. I am not that sentimental and it is the only museum ticket I've ever saved but 10 years🙄! "The chance to see the city was very important for me... because of my [unreal childish] dream to visit the Dresden Gallery and see the Sistine Madonna. It was my second very sentimental moment during my trip and it's hard to explain what it meant for me: to come into the hall, stand there, in front of the picture, and admire." (I wrote this under one of the photos in my Dresden Album).

Кулон "Спогади про Дрезден"

Щось у мене в голові перемкнулося тож після нанизування намиста "Прості форми" процес оновлення відклався і я перестрибнула до своєї давньої ідеї зробити кулон з квитка до Zvinger Palace. Я не така вже і сентиментальна, але цей музейний квиток у мене зберігався 10 років😳. Мабуть тому, що відвідування Дрездену та його знаменитої галереї і побачення з "Сикстинською Мадоною" було для мене чимось дуже значимим і з дитинства омріяним, таким що ніколи не могло трапитися, але відбулося.

The ticket was a little wrinkled, I ironed it but it didn't help, the only thing happened - its back side turned black🙄. Then I cut the piece of the ticket according to the cabochone's shape, glued it to the glass, then to the felt, and bezeled the cabochone with 11.0 Matsuno 2 cut seed beads, 15.0 Czech chalotte beads (I still have no idea what needle I need to work with them and beadweave with thread at once), and 11.0 Toho seed beads. The pallette was matched the picture's colour style. Hung on the chain.

Квиток трохи прим'явся, я його попрасувала, але це не допомогло, єдине, що змінилося - його зворотній бік почорнів🙄. Потім по формі кабошону вирізала фрагмент, приклеїла його до скла, потім до фетру, а потім вже обшила його бісером # 11.0 Matsuno 2 cut, 15.0 Czech chalotte (все ще так і не маю жодного уявлення яка потрібна голка, щоб з ним працювати і нанизую одразу лескою), та #11.0 Toho. Палітру підбирала до кольорової гами картини. Повісила на ланцюжок.

Enchanting Fairy Tale Earrings

I haven't had the feeling I'm making magic when beading for a long time, and these earrings really making me think about Enchanting Fairy Tales on winter nights. They are ornate and mesmerising. So many epithets in one post are not often can be heard from me and it proves I'm enjoying  the outcome absolutely.  

The earrings are made by Sari Pendant pattern from Jayashree Paramesh, Beadwork  October/November 2012. 

Сережки "Чарівна казка"

У мене вже давно не було відчуття, що творю якусь магію, коли щось плету, а ці сережки справді навіюють думки про чарівні казки зимової ночі. Вони багато прикрашені та гіпнотичні. Стільки епітетів в одному дописі від мене чуєш нечасто, тож, безумовно, я в захваті від цієї  роботи.

As it's clear from the pattern's name, the earrings are just a shortened version of the pendant which I had never intended to bead as it seemed too pretentious and not relevant to every day use (it sounds ridiculous really, when it stopped me?:-)). Besides, together with the earrings, the set would require too many expensive 3 mm bicones. But after finishing the work, I wanted to make it at once no matter how many chances to wear that pendant I would have.  However,  as only the materials I had were used, and the central rivolis were bought few years ago specially for this pair, it hardly ever happens. On the other hand, who knows... :-) 

Як очевидно з назви моделі, сережки - це лише скорочена версія кулону, який я ніколи не збиралася плести, тому що він мені видавався занадто претензійним і недоречним для щоденного вжитку (звучить смішно справді, коли мене це зупиняло? :-)). До того ж, разом з сережками, набір потребував би багато дорогих біконусів 3 мм. Але закінчивши роботу я одразу захотіла сплести той кулон безвідносно кількості нагод його надягнути. Проте, оскільки використані лише ті матеріали які у мене були, а центральні ріволі купувалися спеціально для цих сережок декілька років тому, навряд чи це колись трапиться. З іншого боку, хто зна... :-)

Morning on Crete

 

The story of the earrings has nothing in common with Crete, actually. I just read that the author had been inspired by the used beads' names which made her think about Greece. Then I thought, "Oh, yeah, I also used to travel there and have a couple of photos from the hotel and looking at them I can see something Greek in the earrings, too" :-) But the real story is different. Some years ago I lost one of the earrings made to complete one of my favourite dresses. I loved that garment and wore it quite a lot so decided to make a different pair of earrings to match the dress. The pattern by Debora Hodoyer from Bead & Jewellery Issue 80 was chosen and the specific beads, arcos and minos were bought. But I postponed work several times until the dress got small and I cannot wear it anymore thus the only thing I am able to do is to recall the happy moments on Crete. I even think the latter is much better because the new dress can be made again but to relive those moments one more time is impossible.

Ранок на Криті 

Історія сережок, насправді, не має нічого спільного з Критом. Я лише прочитала, що авторку надихнули назви намистин які зародили в ній думки про Грецію і я подумала: "ОК, я там теж колись подорожувала і у мене є пара фоток з готелю і роздивляючись їх, я теж можу побачити в сережках щось таке грецьке" :-) Але справжня історія геть інша. Декілька років тому я загубила одну з сережок створених доповнити одну з моїх найулюбленіших суконь. Мені те вбрання дуже подобалося і носилося воно доволі активно, тож я вирішила сплести нову пару прикрас до сукні. Обрала зразок від Debora Hodoyer з Bead & Jewellery Issue 80 і закупила особливі намистини аркос і мінос. Але роботу все відкладала і відкладала, а тепер сукня на мене стала замала тож, дивлячись на сережки, тільки і залишається як згадувати про щасливі дні на Криті, а це може і на краще, бо сукню можна і нову пошити, а ось повторити ті миті - вже ні.

Cranberry with Sugar Earrings

The story is that yesterday evening I was going to string a necklace to match a new dress I cut last Saturday. When I took my beading board, which is actually a wooden tray covered with a piece of coat fabric, it was full of the materials left from Cranberry with Sugar Necklace. I didn't sort them on their places as had to make a pair of earrings to match the necklace but forgot about that. So to start a new project, I had to make these pair of earrings quickly to clean the board.

 Сережки "Журавлина з цукром" 

Історія така. Вчора ввечері я збиралася нанизати намисто до нової сукні покроєної минулих вихідних. Але, коли витягла мою робочу дошку, яка фактично є підносом накритим клаптем пальтової тканини, виявилося що на на ній повно матеріалів, які залишилися від намиста "Журавлина з цукром". По місцях я їх не розсортувала, оскільки мала зробити сережки до намиста, але забула про це. Тож, щоб розпочати новий проект, довелося швиденько зробити цю пару сережок, щоб розчистити робоче місце. 

The earrings from the tutorial were not my cup of tea, so I decided to make something simple and quick using the necklace's materials. Rivoli 14 mm, delica seed beads 10.0, toho 15.0 and 6 mm Czech pearls. 

Сережки з майстер класу мене не дуже привабили, тож вирішила зробити щось просте і швидке з матеріалів намиста. Ріволі 14 мм, бісер деліка 10.0 і тохо 15.0, чеські перлини 6 мм.

Cranberry with Sugar Necklace (Final)

The necklace is ready and the outcome can't but make me joyful :-) I am also glad that it does match my last festive gown as choosing the colourstyle of the necessary beads for this piece of jewellery, I had that outfit on my mind. One more reason to be in a good mood is that the necklace is ready earlier than New Year's countdown starts :-) 

Намисто "Журавлина з цукром" 

Намисто готове і не можу не потішитися результатом:-) Також приємно, що намисто добре пасує до мого останнього вечірнього вбрання, оскільки обираючи необхідні намистини для цієї прикраси, я уявляла саме цю сукню. Ще одна причина для гарного настрою: намисто готове раніше ніж годинник починає бити дванадцяту  Новорічної ночі:-) 

The process of sewing all the elements together took me the whole day yesterday and it only goes about the final part. The previous step, making a bail and joining the rivolis and cabochon, happened a couple weeks ago. This kind of bail was, in fact, the only element in this necklace which I had never done before. I had some prejudice as for it but, after all, the designer was right with this choice and it looks well here. 

На процес зшивання всіх елементів до купи пішла вся вчорашня неділя і йдеться лише про фінальну частину. Попередній етап - з'єднання ріволі і кабошона та плетіння бейлу - відбувся пару тижнів тому. Фактично, виготовлення такого бейлу - єдиний елемент в цьому намисті, якого я раніше не робила. У мене було певне упередження щодо нього, але, зрештою, це дизайнерське рішення виявилося вдалим і  тут виглядає доречно. 

Joining the pipe beads was really time consuming and made me a little upset as some pearls, despite they are of good quality, were harmed. It made me think over their change for gems as it is in the original necklace. At the end I refused the idea as I like what I have a lot and forgot about those pearls' scratches:-)

З'єднання намистин трубочок не лише забрало багато часу а і засмутило мене трохи, оскільки деякі перлини, хоча вони і гарної якості, були пошкоджені. Це мене змусило замислитися про їхню заміну на напівдорогоцінне каміння, як це і є в оригінальному проекті. Проте від ідеї я відмовилася, оскільки мені подобається що у мене вийшло, а про ті подряпини на перлах я і забула:-)

Cranberry with Sugar Necklace III (Cabochon)

 

The third element of the Cranberry with Sugar Necklace is a beaded cabochon. It is not new work for me, too, as I have already made some my own models. I liked a quite reserved design of this sample. While bead-weaving, the instructions in the video tutorial were followed but I have a few remarks.

Намисто "Журавлина з цукром" ІІІ (Кабошон) 

Третій елемент намиста "Журавлина з цукром" - обплетений кабошон. Робота для мене теж не нова, я вже подібне виконувала і не раз, але власні моделі. Мені сподобався доволі стриманий дизайн цього зразка. Плела за інструкцією відео майстер класу, але маю декілька зауважень. 

Both notes concern the cabochon's decor. The author mentioned that to embroider the stone, the number of the seed beads must be even but to make the suggested decor in the last top row, there must be not just even number of the seed beads, it must be a multiply of four. To make the suggested decor in the last bottom row the number of the seed beads must be a multiply of three. Thus I made the corresponding decor only in the bottom row as it was easy to correct the number of the necessary seed beads. 

Обидва зауваження стосуються декору кабошону. Автор згадує, що для обшивання потрібна парна кількість бісерин, але для передбаченого декору останнього верхнього ряду, вона має бути не лише парна, а ще кратна чотирьом, а для передбаченого моделлю останнього нижнього ряду - кратна трьом. Тож я зробила відповідний декор лише для нижнього ряду, оскільки було легко змінити кількість бісерин.

Cranberry with Sugar Necklace II (Rivoli)

The second step of creating the necklace is bezelling rivoli. They are three here of different sizes. This work is not hard thing to do for me as I had beaded a lot of bezels before so the process took me a couple of evenings. It would have been even quicker if I hadn't had to change it a little.

Другий етап виготовлення намиста - обплетення ріволі. Тут їх три різного розміру. Така робота для мене не важка, безелів я плела багато, тож процес завершився за пару вечорів. Було б ще швидше якби не довелося його трохи змінювати. 

First, the peyote base stripe was too wide and the ready bezel covered the crystal too much so I decreased the number of rows. Then I didn't like the last row of the bezel, it turned to be a little ruffled I am well with ruffles but I got them uneven and it looked not neat. So after few attempts the final variant looks like on the ticked photo. I hope this change won't make some troubles when I compile all the elements together.

По-перше, стрічка мозаїчної основи виявилася заширока і в готовому вигляді кристал був занадто закритий, тож зменшила кількість рядів. Потім мені не сподобався останній ряд безелю, бо він виявився трохи хвилястим. Проти таких рюшів я нічого не маю, але вони вийшли нерівномірні і це мало неохайний вигляд. Тож після декількох спроб кінцевий варіант виглядає як на фото (під галочкою). Cподіваюся, така зміна не створить незручностей, коли з'єднуватиму всі елементи докупи. 

Cranberry with Sugar Necklace I (Pipe Beads)

 

It is the beginning of multi-series post about a time consuming necklace. The story of this item creating started two years ago when I bought three video tutorials from Natalya Kuzma as a Christmas present for myself. To gather all the necessary materials to make the first of the jewellery pieces by those videos, took me a little less than a year and, if to talk about bijouterie, cost almost a fortune :-) Miyuki Delica seed beads, Czech rivolis and pearls, and a rose quartz gemstone are among the materials I bought as claimed by the instruction. The work was started about in the middle of September and yesterday I finished the beading of the first elements of the necklace, pipe beaded beads. These elements are not new for me. I used to make alike beads for this Spring & Autumn Necklace but of Czech seed beads.

Намисто 

"Журавлина з цукром" І

 (Намистини-трубочки) 

Це початок багатосерійного допису про багато-часу-затратне намисто. Історія його почалася два роки тому, коли в якості різдвяного подарунку я купила собі три відео майстер класи від Наталі Кузьми. На збір матеріалів для виготовлення одного з виробів за тими відео пішло трохи менше року і, якщо казати про біжутерію, коштувало мені це майже статок :-) За інструкцією серед куплених матеріалів бісер Miyuki Delica, чеські ріволі та перли, та кабошон з рожевого кварцу. Роботу розпочато десь в середині вересня  і вчора я закінчила плести перший елемент намиста - намистини-трубочки. Ці елементи для мене не нові. Колись подібні я робила для намиста "Весна й Осінь" але з чеського бісеру.

Celestial Earrings

The season of making summer clothes starts with earrings beading and that is very good because on the first weekend after school term's finishing, I usually feel a little lost. I guess it is because of the great contrast between the intensity of the previous weeks and sudden days off freedom when there is neither routine nor test students' works to prepare and check. But instead of doing my favourite things, I do nothing of the kind on such days. Fortunately, this year my awareness of wasting time on Saturday was very strong and I made a pair of earrings from my imaginary list of the desired beading :-)   

"Неземні" сережки 

Сезон пошиття літнього одягу починається з виготовлення сережок і це дуже добре, тому що перших вихідних по закінченню семестру почуваюся трохи розгубленою. Думаю, через великий контраст між напругою попередніх тижнів і раптовою свободою вихідних днів, коли не треба ані готувати ані перевіряти щоденні або тестові учнівські роботи. Але, замість зайнятися улюбленими справами, в такі дні я зазвичай нічого подібного не роблю. На щастя, цього року моє усвідомлення марнування часу у суботу було дуже міцним і я зробила пару сережок з мого уявного списку бажаного бісероплетіння :-) 

The pattern Celestial Earrings, from Kelly Weise's book Exotic Adornments, published in Beadwork magazine February/March 2017. The pattern is not hard, the instruction is very clear. I experimented a little with the colours, of course, and replaced 2 mm glass pearls for 8.0 seed beads as didn't like my colour match although I guess with 2 mm the earrings peyote loops would look more convex and thus even more interesting. They are stiff enough as I got them after two times of reinforcing. 

Модель Celestial Earrings від Kelly Weise, з її книги Exotic Adornments, опубліковано в журналі Beadwork February/March 2017. Модель неважка у виконанні, інструкції зрозумілі. Звісно, трохи експерементувала з кольорами, і замінила 2 мм перлини на бісер 8.0, тому що ті кольори, які в мене є, не сполучалися, хоча, думаю, що з перлинами пейоточні кільця сережок виглядали б більш рельєфними і ще цікавішими. Кільця достатньо жорсткі після двох проходів лінню.

Vermeer Earrings

My plan was to share a new dress this weekend but the plan turned to be quite illusory, which was predictable enough from the very beginning because the winter break is over:-) But as to do something is always better than to  do nothing, I share these sweet delicate earrings named by their author Vermeer earrings. I absolutely like the idea and the source of inspiration so let my pair have the same name. 

Сережки "Вермеер" 

Планувала поділитися новою сукнею на цих вихідних, але план виявився цілком примарним, що можна було від початку передбачити, адже зимові канікули скінчилися:-) Але оскільки зробити щось завжди краще ніж нічого не зробити, ділюся цими милими делікатними сережками, які автор назвав сережками "Вермеер". Я в захваті від ідеї та джерела натхнення, тож нехай моя пара збереже цю назву. 

The earrings were made by this tutorial from PotomacBeads. The only change is my materials: I used 4 and 7 mm Czech pearls and my navette has a different bazel's back. 

Сережки зроблені за цим майстер класом від PotomacBeads. Єдина відмінність - це мої матеріали: використала чеськи перли 4 і 7 мм і цап моєї наветти має іншу основу. 

Italian Rose Pendant

The pendant is my first work with Arcos par Puca beads. I only found them in three colours here and bought in two. The choice of the red were as obvious as the choice of the pattern: undoubtly the shape of the beads forms fabulous petals. Probably it was the decisive reason why the pendant from Bead & Button April 2019 by Italian designer Margherita Fusko appealed to me :-) 

Кулон "Італійська троянда" 

Цей кулон - моя перша робота з намистинами Arcos par Puca. Я їх знайшла лише в трьох кольорах і купила в двох. Вибір червоного був так само очевидний як і вибір моделі: без сумніву форма намистин утворює казкові пелюстки. Скоріш за все це і стало вирішальним фактором привабливості кулону з "Bead & Button", квітень 2019, італійської дизайнерки Margherita Fusko :-) 

I haven't desided yet what will be used as a rope to wear the pendant but I know exactly what dress it will decorate :-) While working, the most interesting was to play with the seed beads' colours as I was changing them and their order in the process. 

Ще не вирішила, на що підвісити кулон щоб носити, але точно знаю, яку сукню він прикрашатиме :-) Поки плела, найцікавішим було гратися з кольорами бісеру, оскільки змінювала і їх і порядок їх використання в процесі роботи.

London Sketches Necklace (Bezeled cabochons)

Autumn is in its last weeks and I still have none of the season's projects. And this one is not about autumn as well:-) The idea of making such a necklace was on my mind since my mum presented me a red cup in a cute box last year. The pictures on the box was so teasing with their London's sketches that it was really pity to throw the box away and I decided to make cabochons with them to unite the ready elements in a necklace one day. My red sweater suddenly became the real push to start the project. I don't know why, probably, just because the right time came. Actually, any of these elements can be used for making different piece of jewellery, either for a pendant or bracelet or a ring but I still don't refuse from the idea of making a necklace. Even if I have to make one more sweater to push me to find the time to make it:-)

Намисто "Лондонські замальовки" (Оплетені кабошони)

Осінь вже майже на фінішній прямій, а у мене щось досі немає жодного тематичного проекту. І цей не про осінь теж :-) Ідея створення такого намиста запала мені щойно минулого року мама подарувала мені червону чашку в милій упаковці. Малюнки на коробці так дражнили лондонськими замальовками, що було шкода її викидати, тож я і вигадала зробити з ними кабошони і колись об'єднати готові елементи у намисто. Справжнім поштовхом  розпочати роботу став мій червоний светр. Не знаю чому, можливо просто настав той самий час. Насправді, будь який з цих елементів можна використати для виготовлення різних прикрас: для кулону або браслету чи каблучки. Але я поки що не відмовилася від ідеї зробити намисто. Навіть якщо доведеться сплести ще один светр, щоб примусити мене знайти час для його виготовлення:-)

So the box was unfolded and six sketches cabochons were made. I also made a few more of packing bow but I don't know how many of them I will need and if I need any in general.  

Отже коробку було розібрано і зроблено шість кабошонів. Я також зробила декілька з декоративної пакувальної стрічки, але не знаю, скільки подібних знадобиться і чи потрібні вони будуть взагалі. 

The technique of bezeling cabochons in embroidery technique seems to clear for me already as I've made it several times. However, on YouTube there are many video tutorials in probably any language to learn or check or improve the skill.

Техніка оплетення кабошону в техніці вишивки видається мені зрозумілою, оскільки я це робила вже декілька разів. Проте, на YouTube більше ніж достатньо відео майстер класів будь якою мовою, щоб освоїти чи перевірити або покращити цю навичку.

Frosty Ornament Necklace I

I have a real nature calendar here, in my blog :-) Looked through the projects inspired by winter and was reminded about the 19 degrees below zero frost that we had in the end of 2016 January... This year we had no classic winter at all so right because of its lack I probably attached to the blue colour in the beginning of the year and, particularly, to the blue sparkles :-) 

I hope this new piece of jewellery will be only the first element of the planned necklace and I am going to add some embellishment to the pendant (I even didn't cut the thread on it to be ready to continue as soon as am sure what I really want). However, in this way the necklace is totally wearable and I like it.

Намисто "Морозний візерунок" І

У мене тут у блозі справжній календар природи :-) Переглядала проекти навіяні зимовим натхненням і побачила, що в кінці січня 2016 року у нас тут було -19 градусів морозу... Цього року класичної зими ми так і не дочекалися, тож можливо саме через її брак, на початку року я переважно і прив'язана до блакитного кольору  і, особливо, до блакитного мерехтіння:-) Розраховую, що це намисто стане лише першим елементом від запланованого і я збираюся трохи прикрасити кулон (я навіть нитку не зрізала з нього, щоб продовжити роботу, щойно буду впевнена чого я хочу). Проте, в такому вигляді намисто вже повністю носибельне і мені подобається.

As soon as I got the rivoli, and moreover, as soon as I unpack the parcel, I bezeled the stone. I don't remember quicker start indeed. I made it with embroidery technique. The continuation of the work was postponed to think over the next steps.

Щойно я отримала ріволі, більш того, щойно розпакувала посилку, я одразу оплела ріволі. Не пам'ятаю, щоб колись робота починалася так швидко. Я це зробила в техніці вишивки. Продовження роботи було відкладено для обмірковування подальших кроків.

The thinking over dragged on no less than two weeks :-) When I came back to the pendant I changed m mind as for the way of the bezeling and made it in RAW technique :-)

Обмірковування затягнулося не менше ніж на два тижні :-) Коли повернулася до роботи, передумала щодо обплетення і зробила його в "хрестик" :-)

The pause was not spent in vain, I learned new technique to make a rope to the pendant. It was St. Petersburg chain (as for me it just look like a fur tree branch). But when I changed the bezeling, it became obvious that the rope must  be of different kind as well to match the pendant's, let's say, texture. So today in the morning I learned new technique - Tubular Chenille Stitch by this tutorial - and beaded the rope. I got what I wanted indeed.

Паузу не було змарновано, я вивчила нову техніку, щоб сплести джгут до кулону. Це St. Petersburg chain (хоча, як на мене, більше схоже на гілку ялинки). Але, коли я змінила обплетку ріволі, стало зрозуміло, що джгут має бути іншим, щоб пасувати до, скажімо так, текстури кулону. Тож сьогодні вранці я вивчила ще одну техніку - Tubular Chenille Stitch за цим майстер класом - і сплела вже гожий джгут. Вийшло саме те, що хотіла.

ZoliDuo Earrings, or Nice Winter Morning

Yesterday I could spend some time for my beading and, at last, used these relatively new zoliduo beads which had been bought just for curiosity some time before. As I am not the one to experiment with all the diversity of new beads, that seem to be appear every day!, I mostly either wait or look for some appropriate tutorial I could follow with some modification if the piece needs any. I beaded the earrings yesterday and the night light made me doubt to some degree if I matched the colours of the materials properly. But when I took the photos today in the morning, the perception changed absolutely. The morning was the best possible in winter: sunny, frosty with fresh snow covering all around. And the earrings looked as if found among the sparkles of that snow :-)

Сережки з намистин золі дуо, або Гарний зимовий ранок

Вчора я змогла приділити трохи часу нанизуванню і, нарешті, використала ці відносно нові намистини золідуо, які купила декілька місяців тому лише з цікавості. Оскільки я не з тих, хто полюбляє експериментувати з усім розмаїттям нових намистин, які, здається, з'являються щодня!, то переважно чекаю або шукаю якійсь гожий майстер клас, яким можна скористатися зі змінами, якщо виріб цього потребує. Ці сережки я нанизала вчора і нічне світло спричинило у мене певні сумніви щодо правильного поєднання кольорів в матеріалах. Але сьогодні вранці, коли фотографувала, сприйняття зовсім змінилося. Ранок видався найкращим з тих, які може запропонувати зима: сонячний, морозний, зі снігом, який покрив усе навколо. І сережки виглядали наче знайдені серед іскорок того снігу :-)

The tutorial belongs to Marianna - M'A Handmade and can be found here. I changed the way the earring is connected to the hook, added extra arches of three 15.0 to decorate the middle superduos and added a dangle with a drop bead.

МК належить Marianna - M'A Handmade і знаходиться тут.  Я змінила спосіб з'єднання сережки зі швензою, додала арки з трьох бісерин 15.0 щоб прикрасити середні супердуо і додала підвіску з намистиною краплею.

Klimt's Earrings

The best and correct name for these earrings would be "Me and Christmas" because they were beading between baking my traditional Christmas pie, cleaning the snow, cooking, the Holy night dinner and watching the set of favourite festive films. But I decided to save the name from the necklace as without it, hardly I would make the earrings and refresh my knowledge about the artist's life and work. And the latter provoked appearing the thoughts about seeing his pictures in Vienna's museums... It is never early to think over future travelling, isn't it?:-)

Сережки Клімта

Найкращою і правильною назвою для цих сережок була б "Я і Різдво", тому що їхнє плетіння відбувалося між випіканням мого традиційного різдвяного пирога, прибиранням снігу, приготуванням їжі, святковою вечерею у переддень Різдва та переглядом улюблених різдвяних фільмів. Але я все ж таки вирішила зберегти назву від намиста, оскільки без нього навряд чи сплела б ці сережки і освіжила свої знання про життя та творчість художника. А останнє, в свою чергу, спровокувало появу думок про бажання побачити його картини у Віденських музеях... Ніколи ж не рано замислитися про майбутні подорожі :-)

The idea of the earrings is simple. I took two elements of the necklace and joined them together. The pentagon bezels were made by the pattern but as for the baguette, it was not so easy. Instead of bezelling it in the setting, I embroidered it, in an ordinary way. For example, as I did it here.

Ідея сережок - проста. Я взяла два елементи намиста і з'єднала їх разом. П'ятикутні обплетення зроблені за зразком намиста, але з багетом все було не так просто. Замість обплітати його в оправі, я його вишила, в звичайній техніці. Як, наприклад, я це робила тут.

Klimt's Collar Necklace

I see the number of my posts is decreasing year after year... And how could it be in different way if to choose for beading such complex items like this new necklace that took me not less than a month and a half to make? And moreover, without this winter holidays break, I suspect,  I would bead it as long more or even longer :-) I cannot say exactly what attracted me in this necklace mostly either the name of Klimt or the original design of the piece but I had a firm intention to make this necklace from the fist sight. The work turned out to be unexpectedly troubling and now, when it's finished, I have a couple ideas about changing the way of beading of some details but I cannot but be happy with the outcome anyway!

Намисто "Комірець Клімта"

Бачу кількість моїх дописів зменшується рік за роком... А як ще може бути, якщо обирати для роботи такі складні речі як це нове намисто, на відтворення якого у мене пішло не менше як місяця півтора? І, більш того, маю підозри, що без цього зимового передиху на свята, я б його плела ще стільки ж або і довше:-) Не можу напевно сказати, що найбільше привабило мене у цьому намисті чи то прізвище художника в назві чи оригінальний дизайн, але з першого погляду у мене з'явилося непохитне бажання його зробити. Робота виявилася несподівано клопіткою і зараз, коли її вже закінчено, маю пару ідей, як можна було б змінити способи плетіння деяких деталей, але, як би там не було, результат не може мене не радувати!

So, the model Klimt's Collar by Jill Devon from Beadwork Feb/March 2012. It has many elements. While making the necklace, I followed the instruction but in my case it would be better to take rivoli 14 mm, the bezels are big enough, maybe because I used 11/0 Toho seed beads.

Отже модель Klimt's Collar від Jill Devon з Beadwork Feb/March 2012.  Вона має багато елементів. Поки плела, все робила за інструкцією, але, для мого випадку, можу сказати, ріволі можна було взяти 14 мм, обплетка достатньо велика, можливо тому що я використала 11/0 бісер Toho.

Making the centre ring made me a little upset at first. It ruffled as crazy up to the moment of joining the sides. Besides, last rows were so dense that I broke two needles while finishing the element.

Мене спочатку трохи засмутило виготовлення центрального кільця . Воно перекручувалося як скажене до останнього моменту з'єднання сторін. Крім того, останні ряди біли настільки щільними, що, поки закінчувала елемент, зламала дві голки.

Making the segments also had some specific moments. Right while making these details, the note about the importance of the tension became very actual. Because all first three beaded segments turned to be of different sizes... because of tension of the last four rows. Not to waste time for matching the tension, I remade the ready details, and, while finishing the segments to control the tension, just pinned them to the board.

Виготовлення сегментів теж мало свої специфічні моменти. Саме для виготовлення цих деталей зауваження щодо щільності плетіння стало дуже важливим. Тому що всі три перших сплетених сегменти виявилася різного розміру саме через щільність плетіння останніх чотирьох рядів. Щоб не марнувати час на добирання щільності, я переробила вже готові деталі і, в процесі закінчення плетіння, просто пришпилювала їх до дошки.

Bezelling the baguette differs pretty notably in my necklace. Firstly, mine is less in size so I started with 36 seed beads. And secondly, after making the peyote "belt", I sewed it to its setting and only then finished the bezelling. 

Обплетення ріволі в моєму намисті відрізняється доволі суттєво. По-перше, мій елемент менший і я почала з 36 бісерин. По-друге, після виготовлення "паску" пейотом, я його спочатку пришила до оправи і вже потім закінчувала обплетення. 

And the last step, sewing, took me several hours a day for few days. Probably because I used 11/0 seed beads of one kind, the segments were not curved enough to make a circle so, while sewing, I changed the spots of connection of the pentagon rings and, while sewing, pulled the last rows of the segments a little more to adjust the necklace's shape to wear it.

На останній крок, зшивання, у мене пішло по декілька годин на день протягом декількох днів. Можливо через те, що весь бісер 11/0 у мене однаковий, сегменти не мали достатньо вигнутої форми, щоб утворити коло. Тому довелося змінити місця з'єднання п'ятикутних кілець та, в процесі зшивання, стягнути останні ряди сегментів, щоб пристосувати форму намиста для носіння.
