Crystal Chandelier Earrings

I had a wish to make such kind of earrings for quite long and even used to buy a couple of connectors as a base for hanging the dangles but did them only today. This pair was inspired by my new dress sewed of jersey with paisley design. Besides, occasionally I managed to buy the connector which I imagined when thinking over stringing this piece of jewellery. 

It's not too hard to feel yourself a designer when you have enough free time and right materials to create what you want :-)

Сережки з підвісками з кристалів

Мені давно хотілося зробити такого типу сережки і навіть колись купила пару конекторів для основи, але вдалося зробити їх лише сьогодні. На цю пару надихнуло пошиття нової сукні з трикотажу з візерунком пейслі. Крім того, випадково мені вдалося купити саме такий конектор, який я уявляла обмірковуючи нанизування таких сережок. 

Не так вже і важко відчувати себе дизайнером, коли маєш достатньо вільного часу і відповідні матеріали, щоб зробити те, що хочеться :-)

Steppe Chime Earrings

 

In the daytime during blackout after last rocket attack I could make simple but gorgeous earrings. I had few names for them but chose Steppe Chimes, the earrings are twanging at every move or wind blowing, and wind is one of distinctive feaсhers of our main landscape here, steppe, in the south of Ukraine. 

Сережки "Степовий Дзвіночок"

В світлий період дня під час блекату після останньої ракетної атаки змогла зробити чудові сережки. У мене для них було декілька назв, але обрала "Степовий дзвіночок": сережки дзеленчать при кожному русі та від малешого подуву вітру, який є однією з визначних ознак нашого головного пейзажу, степу, тут на півдні України.

Having just few simple components it's possible to create few different variants of earrings. 

Навіть лише з декількох простих компонентів можна створити декілька різних варіантів сережок.

After wearing them a couple of hours, I decided to add a dangle crystal in the smaller oval. I had in topaz colour at hand but if the crystal  were colourful, for example, green, white opal or red or any other, it would look as nice or even nicer.

Поносивши сережки пару годин, вирішила додати в менший овал підвіску- кристал. У мене під рукою був кольором топаз, але, якщо кристал був би кольоровим, наприклад, зелений, білий опал чи червоний чи будь який інший, це виглядало б так само гарнo, або навіть гарніше.

Golden Mean Earrings II

 

Few of my necklaces have broken recently because of the torn up jewellery wire. One of these necklaces is my Golden Mean which I wear quite often as it matches a lot of things in my wardrobe. The necklace makes a set with the earrings, of course. I postponed the fixing the necklace until yesterday when I finished a new dress and this set turned to be the best accessory to the garment. Thus I gathered all new materials I bought to renovate the necklace a little and understood I would start with a new pair of earrings. The first variant was with golden pearls but after wearing the earrings a couple of hours I changed my mind and changed the pearls for glass beads (now I have the pair as on the last photo).

Сережки "Золота середина" ІІ 

Останнм часом декілька моїх намист зіпсувалися через порваний ювелірний тросик. Одне з цих намист "Золота середина", яке я доволі часто надягаю, тому що воно гарно поєднується з багатьма речами в моєму гардеробі. Звісно, що з відповідними сережками намисто утворює набір. Я відкладала ремонт намиста до вчорашнього дня, коли я закінчила нову сукню і саме цей набір виявився найкращим аксесуаром до вбрання. Тож я зібрала всі нові матеріали, які я купила, щоб трохи оновити намисто і зрозуміла, що почну я з нової пари сережок. Перший варіант був з золотими перлинами, але поносивши їх пару годин, передумала і поміняла перли на скляні намистини (на останньому фото останній варіант).

Green Set. Lamppost Earrings

 

A new pair of earrings is supposed to be a part of Green set which will be made of different kinds and sizes of beads in various green hues.

Передбачається що нова пара сережок - частина Зеленого комплекту, який має бути створений з намистин усякого розміру та вигляду в різних зелених відтінках.

Enchanting Fairy Tale Earrings

I haven't had the feeling I'm making magic when beading for a long time, and these earrings really making me think about Enchanting Fairy Tales on winter nights. They are ornate and mesmerising. So many epithets in one post are not often can be heard from me and it proves I'm enjoying  the outcome absolutely.  

The earrings are made by Sari Pendant pattern from Jayashree Paramesh, Beadwork  October/November 2012. 

Сережки "Чарівна казка"

У мене вже давно не було відчуття, що творю якусь магію, коли щось плету, а ці сережки справді навіюють думки про чарівні казки зимової ночі. Вони багато прикрашені та гіпнотичні. Стільки епітетів в одному дописі від мене чуєш нечасто, тож, безумовно, я в захваті від цієї  роботи. 

Сережки виготовлені за зразком "Sari Pendant" від Jayashree Paramesh, з Beadwork  October/November 2012.

As it's clear from the pattern's name, the earrings are just a shortened version of the pendant which I had never intended to bead as it seemed too pretentious and not relevant to every day use (it sounds ridiculous really, when it stopped me?:-)). Besides, together with the earrings, the set would require too many expensive 3 mm bicones. But after finishing the work, I wanted to make it at once no matter how many chances to wear that pendant I would have.  However,  as only the materials I had were used, and the central rivolis were bought few years ago specially for this pair, it hardly ever happens. On the other hand, who knows... :-) 

Як очевидно з назви моделі, сережки - це лише скорочена версія кулону, який я ніколи не збиралася плести, тому що він мені видавався занадто претензійним і недоречним для щоденного вжитку (звучить смішно справді, коли мене це зупиняло? :-)). До того ж, разом з сережками, набір потребував би багато дорогих біконусів 3 мм. Але закінчивши роботу я одразу захотіла сплести той кулон безвідносно кількості нагод його надягнути. Проте, оскільки використані лише ті матеріали які у мене були, а центральні ріволі купувалися спеціально для цих сережок декілька років тому, навряд чи це колись трапиться. З іншого боку, хто зна... :-)

Morning on Crete

 

The story of the earrings has nothing in common with Crete, actually. I just read that the author had been inspired by the used beads' names which made her think about Greece. Then I thought, "Oh, yeah, I also used to travel there and have a couple of photos from the hotel and looking at them I can see something Greek in the earrings, too" :-) But the real story is different. Some years ago I lost one of the earrings made to complete one of my favourite dresses. I loved that garment and wore it quite a lot so decided to make a different pair of earrings to match the dress. The pattern by Debora Hodoyer from Bead & Jewellery Issue 80 was chosen and the specific beads, arcos and minos were bought. But I postponed work several times until the dress got small and I cannot wear it anymore thus the only thing I am able to do is to recall the happy moments on Crete. I even think the latter is much better because the new dress can be made again but to relive those moments one more time is impossible.

Ранок на Криті 

Історія сережок, насправді, не має нічого спільного з Критом. Я лише прочитала, що авторку надихнули назви намистин які зародили в ній думки про Грецію і я подумала: "ОК, я там теж колись подорожувала і у мене є пара фоток з готелю і роздивляючись їх, я теж можу побачити в сережках щось таке грецьке" :-) Але справжня історія геть інша. Декілька років тому я загубила одну з сережок створених доповнити одну з моїх найулюбленіших суконь. Мені те вбрання дуже подобалося і носилося воно доволі активно, тож я вирішила сплести нову пару прикрас до сукні. Обрала зразок від Debora Hodoyer з Bead & Jewellery Issue 80 і закупила особливі намистини аркос і мінос. Але роботу все відкладала і відкладала, а тепер сукня на мене стала замала тож, дивлячись на сережки, тільки і залишається як згадувати про щасливі дні на Криті, а це може і на краще, бо сукню можна і нову пошити, а ось повторити ті миті - вже ні.

Fan Flower Earrings

I was curious enough to search for the designer's name of the earrings and it turned out to be a real plant, a cute flower with rich blossoming so I decided not to invent anything on my own and leave the name as it is, despite, if to be absolutely honest they remind me some sea creatures but that's the question of perception. The earrings were made by Penny Dixon's pattern from Beadwork Favorite Stitches 2016. It is my second project with dagger seed beads but the previous one, Smile for Van Gogh earrings, was with one-hole beads and this one is with two-holes daggers. I liked these earrings but wasn't obsessed with them and the daggers were used to be bought for a different project, one of my complete fails by the way, so I thought it was a good time to make a new piece of jewelry as I hadn't made any bead weaving for quite long. And here it is, unique and gorgeous :-) 

Сережки "Квітка-віяло" 

Мені вистачило допитливості пошукати в інтернеті, що означає назва, яку дизайнер дала сережкам. Виявилося, що це справжня рослина, мила квіточка з багатим цвітінням, тож вирішила нічого свого не вигадувати і залишити оригінальну назву, хоча направду, вони мені якихось морських істот нагадують, але то таке: кому що і після чого ввижається. Сережки сплетені за моделлю від Penny Dixon з Beadwork Favorite Stitches 2016. Це мій другий виріб з намистинами-дегерами (daggers, кінджали), але попередній, сережки "Посмішка для Ван Гога", були з намистинами з однім отвором, а ці з двома. Мені ці сережки подобалися, але не до лихоманки, і дегери купувала колись для зовсім іншого проекту, одного з моїх повних провалів, до речі, тож подумала, що вже час створити якусь прикрасу, бо досить давно нічого не плела. Ну і ось вони, унікальні і прекрасні :-) 

I didn't have all the exact materials mentioned in the magazine thus changed a pear-shaped drop for an ellipse crystal. For an unknown reason, my first earring had a central dagger stuck out, so I made the second one changing the colour style of 15.0 seed beads and drops. I don't realize what happened but the second earring was flawless then I ripped the first one and made it again. 

У мене не було всіх матеріалів як в журналі, тож я замінила грушовидну краплю на кристал еліпс. З невідомої причини центральний дегер моєї першої сережки став сторчма тож я зробила другу сережку змінивши колір бісеру 15.0 і маленьких магатам. Не усвідомлюю, що  трапилося, але друга сережка вийшла без дефектів. І потім я розпорола першу і переробила її. 

Lvivsky Square Earrings

 

Having beaded the set of the necklaces, I decided not to postpone earrings making to pair the set. They are really a statement piece. I don't know if I wear them together with the necklaces but as a separate item, they look gorgeous.

Сережки "Львівській квадрат" 

Нанизавши набір намист, вирішила не відкладати виготовлення сережок в пару до цього набору. Сережки вийшли дуже виразні, справді привертають увагу. Не знаю, чи носитиму я їх як частину набору, але як окремий аксесуар, вони виглядають прекрасно.

Iris Necklace and Earrings Set

 

Today the third day of summer. I made a new set of jewellery. I don't remember when its beading started as probably none of us noticed there was spring this year and I began my project on some day in spring, maybe in March or April. We are mostly focusing on the main things now, really main and important. Our life saving and our victory. To have joyful moments are as meaningful to survive. My set seems to be full of delight and brightness as well as plenty of flowers around now. For example, irises. A lot of them fill the hot southern air with their saturated astringent scent and triumphant beauty now. It cannot but inspire, can it? :-) 

Намисто і сережки "Ірис" 

Сьогодні третій день літа. Зробила новий набір прикрас. Не пам'ятаю коли почала плетіння, тому що мабуть жоден з нас цього року не помітив, що була весна, а  робота розпочалася якогось весняного дня, можливо десь у березні чи квітні. Ми зараз зосереджені на головних речах, справді головних і важливих. Збереженні життя і нашій перемозі. Дозволяти собі хвилини радості теж дуже вагомо для виживання. Мій набір, здається наповненим радістю і яскравістю так само як квіти, яких зараз навколо дуже багато. Наприклад, ірисів. Незліченна їх кількість наповнює спекотне південне повітря своїм насиченим терпким ароматом та тріумфальною красою. Це ж не може не надихати? 

The materials were prepared long ago the used pattern for the pendant and the earrings by Helena Tang-Lim from B&B August 2019. The pendant has more interesting rope in the magazine but I didn't have enough  seed beads for it as to make the earrings was more important for me.

Матеріали для набору були давно підготовлені, модель кулону і сережок від Helena Tang-Lim з B&B серпень 2019. В журналі кулон має цікавіший джгут, але у мене на нього бісеру не вистачило, оскільки зробити сережки було для мене важливіше.

Goldish Powder Set II

As it was mentioned in the previous post there were two sets of jewellery made of two packs of Preciosa glass pearls. The second of them consists of three items: a pair of earrings, and two necklaces, the short is about 37 cm long and the long one is about 135 cm. I also have an idea and the materials left enough to make at least one more necklace. The dress on the photo will have its own post a little later :-)

Набір прикрас "Золотистий пил" ІІ 

Як згадувалося в попередньому дописі, з двох упаковок скляних перлин Preciosa було зроблено два набори прикрас. Другий складається з трьох предметів: пари сережок і двох намист: короткого, довжиною біля 37 см і довгого - біля 135 см. Крім того, у мене є й ідея та достатньо матеріалів щоб зробити принаймні ще одне намисто. Сукня на фото отримає власний допис трохи згодом :-) 

The necklaces from both sets can worn together, what I am actually doing, or separately. The earrings can be replaced as well. 

Намиста з обох наборів можна носити всі разом, що я і роблю насправді, або окремо. Сережки також можна заміняти.

Goldish Powder Set I

 

There was nothing special about yesterday evening but in some mysterious way it inspired me to make two new sets of jewellery. The first of them was finished late at night.  It is a dainty, simple, and universal set consisting of a delicate necklace and a pair of dangle earrings. 

Набір прикрас "Золотистий пил" (І)

Вчорашній вечір не був особливим жодним чином, але у якійсь загадковий спосіб він мене надихнув на створення двох нових наборів прикрас. Перший з них закінчила пізно вночі. Це простий, елегантний і дуже універсальний комплект з делікатного намиста та сережок з підвісками. 

All of the items are made of the Preciosa beige glass pearls mix which I had two packs. To those pearls I added 4х6 mm crystal rondelles of the same hue and 10.0 Czech seed beads. 

Всі  складові комплекту були зроблені з суміші бежевих перлів Preciosa, яких у мене було дві упаковки. До тих перлин додала кришталеві ронделі 4х6 мм такого ж відтінку і чеський бісер №10.0.

Cranberry with Sugar Earrings

The story is that yesterday evening I was going to string a necklace to match a new dress I cut last Saturday. When I took my beading board, which is actually a wooden tray covered with a piece of coat fabric, it was full of the materials left from Cranberry with Sugar Necklace. I didn't sort them on their places as had to make a pair of earrings to match the necklace but forgot about that. So to start a new project, I had to make these pair of earrings quickly to clean the board.

 Сережки "Журавлина з цукром" 

Історія така. Вчора ввечері я збиралася нанизати намисто до нової сукні покроєної минулих вихідних. Але, коли витягла мою робочу дошку, яка фактично є підносом накритим клаптем пальтової тканини, виявилося що на на ній повно матеріалів, які залишилися від намиста "Журавлина з цукром". По місцях я їх не розсортувала, оскільки мала зробити сережки до намиста, але забула про це. Тож, щоб розпочати новий проект, довелося швиденько зробити цю пару сережок, щоб розчистити робоче місце. 

The earrings from the tutorial were not my cup of tea, so I decided to make something simple and quick using the necklace's materials. Rivoli 14 mm, delica seed beads 10.0, toho 15.0 and 6 mm Czech pearls. 

Сережки з майстер класу мене не дуже привабили, тож вирішила зробити щось просте і швидке з матеріалів намиста. Ріволі 14 мм, бісер деліка 10.0 і тохо 15.0, чеські перлини 6 мм.

Twinkling Trifle Jewellery Set

I haven't done bead weaving for quite long so it was not easy for my eyes to stand few evenings of intensive work. I even had some doubts if I was able to keep on with this craft. Fortunately, after getting this awesome outcome, I realized that I underestimated myself and beading must go on :-)

Вже давно нічого не плела з бісеру, тож моїм очам нелегко було витримати декілька вечорів інтенсивної роботи. У мене навіть сумніви з'явилися чи зможу і надалі займатися цим видом рукотворів. На щастя, отримавши такий чудовий результат, зрозуміла, що недооцінила себе і плетіння з бісеру має тривати:-) 

The used pattern is by Kathy Burke from Beadwork December2012/January 2013. The materials to make it were gathered a couple of years ago. 

I didn't think much which of my garments this necklace matches but its colour style size give it many chances to be wearable.

Використана модель Kathy Burke з журналу Beadwork December2012/January 2013. Матеріали для виготовлення були зібрані роки зо два тому. 

Я не дуже замислювалася до якого вбрання це намисто пасуватиме, але його кольорова гама і розмір дають йому багато шансів. 

The rope is made with spiral herringbone. Its length is about 39-40 cm. 

Джгут сплетений перекрученим ндебеле. Довжина десь 39-40 см. 

As from the very beginning I was going to make a set, three bigger rivolis were bezelled at once: one for the necklace and two for the earrings. 

Оскільки від самого початку планувала зробити набір, більших ріволі було оплетено одразу три: один для намиста і два для сережок. 

To decorate ear studs a 3 mm pearl were glued inside it. 

Щоб прикрасити швензи, вклеїла перлину 3 мм. 

There is a dress on my sewing table. I guess the set will match it not bad:-) 

Є у мене на робочому столі сукня, думаю пасуватиме набір до неї непогано:-)

12 mm Pearl Earrings

 

A new pair of earrings was made of simple materials which are a great advantage of the used pattern Season's Delights Earrings from Alice Kharon published in Beadwork February/March 2012. As for me simple and elegant are wonderful epithets for description any piece of jewelry although I like all that I make not depending on the level of difficulty:-) One more advantage of these earrings: they are universal and undoubtedly will match any outfit in any season.

Сережки з перлиною 12 мм

Нова пара сережок виконана з простих матеріалів і це велика перевага використаної моделі  Season's Delights Earrings від Alice Kharon опублікованої в Beadwork February/March 2012. Як на мене, простий та елегантний - гарні епітети для опису будь якої прикраси, хоча мені подобаються всі, які я роблю незалежно від ступеня скалдності:-) Ще одна перевага цих сережок: вони універсальні і, без сумніву, пасуватимуть до будь якого вбрання будь якої пори року. 

The work is really quick when all the materials are at hand. 

Робота справді швидка якщо всі матеріали під рукою.

Celestial Earrings

The season of making summer clothes starts with earrings beading and that is very good because on the first weekend after school term's finishing, I usually feel a little lost. I guess it is because of the great contrast between the intensity of the previous weeks and sudden days off freedom when there is neither routine nor test students' works to prepare and check. But instead of doing my favourite things, I do nothing of the kind on such days. Fortunately, this year my awareness of wasting time on Saturday was very strong and I made a pair of earrings from my imaginary list of the desired beading :-)   

"Неземні" сережки 

Сезон пошиття літнього одягу починається з виготовлення сережок і це дуже добре, тому що перших вихідних по закінченню семестру почуваюся трохи розгубленою. Думаю, через великий контраст між напругою попередніх тижнів і раптовою свободою вихідних днів, коли не треба ані готувати ані перевіряти щоденні або тестові учнівські роботи. Але, замість зайнятися улюбленими справами, в такі дні я зазвичай нічого подібного не роблю. На щастя, цього року моє усвідомлення марнування часу у суботу було дуже міцним і я зробила пару сережок з мого уявного списку бажаного бісероплетіння :-) 

The pattern Celestial Earrings, from Kelly Weise's book Exotic Adornments, published in Beadwork magazine February/March 2017. The pattern is not hard, the instruction is very clear. I experimented a little with the colours, of course, and replaced 2 mm glass pearls for 8.0 seed beads as didn't like my colour match although I guess with 2 mm the earrings peyote loops would look more convex and thus even more interesting. They are stiff enough as I got them after two times of reinforcing. 

Модель Celestial Earrings від Kelly Weise, з її книги Exotic Adornments, опубліковано в журналі Beadwork February/March 2017. Модель неважка у виконанні, інструкції зрозумілі. Звісно, трохи експерементувала з кольорами, і замінила 2 мм перлини на бісер 8.0, тому що ті кольори, які в мене є, не сполучалися, хоча, думаю, що з перлинами пейоточні кільця сережок виглядали б більш рельєфними і ще цікавішими. Кільця достатньо жорсткі після двох проходів лінню.

Vermeer Earrings

My plan was to share a new dress this weekend but the plan turned to be quite illusory, which was predictable enough from the very beginning because the winter break is over:-) But as to do something is always better than to  do nothing, I share these sweet delicate earrings named by their author Vermeer earrings. I absolutely like the idea and the source of inspiration so let my pair have the same name.

Планувала поділитися новою сукнею на цих вихідних, але план виявився цілком примарним, що можна було від початку передбачити, адже зимові канікули скінчилися:-) Але оскільки зробити щось завжди краще ніж нічого не зробити, ділюся цими милими делікатними сережками, які автор назвав сережками "Вермеер". Я в захваті від ідеї та джерела натхнення, тож нехай моя пара збереже цю назву. 

The earrings were made by this tutorial from PotomacBeads. The only change is my materials: I used 4 and 7 mm Czech pearls and my navette has a different bazel's back. 

Сережки зроблені за цим майстер класом від PotomacBeads. Єдина відмінність - це мої матеріали: використала чеськи перли 4 і 7 мм і цап моєї наветти має іншу основу. 

Icicles Earrings

Today's post continues the 4 previous ones as the items are made of the same stash of materials. But I thought that these earrings remind a snowflake about as much as I do so it is worth finding other name for them.. or not... but nevertheless I remembered another winter object which can be nice enough if to make it of beads:-) 

Сережки "Бурульки" 

Сьогоднішній допис продовжує попередні чотири, оскільки речі зроблені з того самого запасу матеріалів. Але я подумала, що ці сережки нагадують сніжинку приблизно так само як і я, тому варто вигадати для них іншу назву... а може і ні... тим не менш я згадала ще один зимовий об'єкт, який може доволі гарно виглядати, якщо зробити його з намистин :-) 

The process of creating is simple. Select and collect the materials. Compose the elements and then join them together. And here they are. 

Процес створення простий. Обираємо і збираємо матеріали. Збираємо елементи і потім їх з'єднуємо до купи. Ось і все.

Golden Mean Earrings

 

None of the necklace feels well without a couple of matching earrings :-) And this yellow one is not an exception. After sorting the beads at first I put aside several of them for making the pair of  earrings. 

The set is meant to complete the dress about which I will tell a little later.

Сережки "Золота середина" 

Жодне намисто не почувається добре без пари гожих сережок :-) І це жовте - не виключення. Як посортувала намистини, спочатку відклала декілька з них для виготовлення сережок. 

Набір призначається для доповнення сукні, про яку розповім трохи згодом.

Main beads of the earrings are those cylinders. I used three the same for the necklace. These beads are of higher quality and more expensive than the rest. I had these beads in stash few years and whenever tried to use, their weight confused me. Probably they knew better what they are meant to be for as I was wearing the ready earrings almost the whole day and have recalled that confusing fact only now, while writing this post :-) 

Головні намистини в сережках - ті циліндри. Три таких самих додала до намиста. Вони вищої якості і дорожчі за решту. Ці намистини у мене лежали декілька років і щоразу, коли я хотіла їх використати, мене бентежила їхня вага. Мабуть вони краще знали своє призначення, оскільки я носила готові сережки майже цілий день і цей факт про збентеження згадала лише зараз, коли пишу цей допис :-)
