Freezing Wind Earrings

To make a pair of the earrings to get a set with the necklace, took no more than 15 minutes  including the time for thinking over the arrangement of the beads. All the beads were taken from that very mix. As it was said before, I only added the blue ellipse firepolished beads. The colour style of the set is so neutral that it will match any clothing. And it is very good because it can be worn without waiting for the outfit it meant to be with :-)

На виготовлення сережок в пару до намиста пішло не більше 15 хвилин разом з обмірковуванням розташування намистин. Всі матеріали взяті з тієї ж самої суміші. Як вже раніше згадувала, додала лише блакитні намистини firepolished у вигляді еліпсу. Кольорова гама набору настільки нейтральна, що прикраси можна надягати до будь якого вбрання. І це радує, бо його можна носити не чекаючи на одяг, який йому судилося доповнювати :-)

Freezing Wind Necklace

Last weekend I cut a coat. But as the time from the cutting to the finishing the sewing is more than just vague, I decided fill the gap in the blogging posting my new necklace made yesterday:-) 

Намисто "Морозний вітерець" 

Минулих вихідних я нарешті покроїла зимове пальто, але оскільки термін від розрізання тканини до закінчення пошиття більш ніж невизначений, я вирішила заповнити прогалину у блозі моїм новим намистом зробленим учора:-)

The name of the necklace originated from the name of the beads mix I used. Before starting I gathered all what I had in this colour style, pale blue and grey with silver interspersion, to add to the necklace but only big blue ellipse firepolished beads were used. 

Назва намиста походить від назви суміші намистин, які використані для виготовлення намиста. Перед початком роботи я зібрала все, що у мене є відповідної кольорової гами, блідо-блакитної з сірим та вкрапленнями срібла, щоб додати до намиста, але згодилися лише великі блакитні еліпсоподібні намистини.

Jacquard Dress, or Verona & Ignorance

I am the kind of the tourist who almost always knows where and why he travels. But improvisations happen, of course:-) Sometimes because it is impossible to predict everything in our lives. But sometimes it occurs because of my ignorance. Here I mean the episode of my visit to Verona. It made the most unexpected impression among all the visited Italian places. It was the one I knew nothing about. Except the obvious story of Romeo and Juliet, of course, and so called "Juliet's balcony", nothing else crossed my mind. Fortunately, a local guide, Laura, changed the way of my thinking, or, to be exact, its absence, with her simple and candid words. She said that people came to Verona for love and it doesn't the matter if that balcony real or not because it is not a problem of historical truth, it is the matter of belief in love that is worthy of it. This cheered me up a lot and my mind opened at its widest. The several hours of wandering around the city were so saturated with impressions that by the night I only had been able to say "Ohhh!" Verona turned to be improbable! It doesn't yield to either Rome or Florence or Venice by its beauty, magnificence, historical importance, by level and quality of the sights and its liveliness! It was the only place where I wanted to stay at least for a week at once.

Жакардова сукня, або Верона і невігластво

Я такий тип туриста, який майже завжди знає, куди і навіщо він їде. Але імпровізації, звісно, трапляються:-) Іноді тому, що не можна в житті все передбачити. А іноді через відсутність знань. Скажімо, епізод з поїздкою до Верони. Серед усіх відвіданих італійських міст, вона справила найбільш неочікуване враження. Місто-незнайомець, очевидна історія Ромео і Джульєтти та, так званий, "балкон Джульєтти" - ось і все, що крутилося в голові щодо міста. На щастя, місцевий гід, Лаура, своїми простими та щирими словами змінила хід моїх думок, вірніше, їхню відсутність. Вона сказала, що люди приїздять до Верони заради кохання, і що жодного значення не має, справжній той балкон чи ні, бо це - не питання історичної правди, це питання віри у кохання, яке варте нашої віри. Мене це якось збадьорило і свідомість відкрилася якнайширше. Декілька годин бродіння містом були такими насиченими враженнями, що єдине, що я промовляла було "Ооо!". Верона - неймовірна! Своєю красою, жвавістю, величчю, історичною значимістю, кількістю і якістю пам'яток вона не поступається ані Римові, ані Флоренції чи Венеції! Це було єдине місце, в якому мені захотілося одразу залишитися хоч на тиждень.

When I saw this burgundy jacquard with black outlines of flowers I remembered the image of the city: something dramatic is in in this fabric's texture and colour style. However, I didn't like the quality of the fabric: it is very stretching, too much. I didn't buy it once. I had to choose the model and came across the right one in the advertisement of the magazine two weeks before its selling:-) I bought the fabric and was waiting for Burda 11/2019 that was purchased for the dress #119 (#6165 Burda PDF the same).

The jewellery set was made specially for this dress: Ruby Garnet Earrings, Ruby Garnet Necklaces I and II.

Коли  побачила цей бордовий жакард з чорними контурами квітів, згадала про образ міста: щось таке драматичне є в текстурі та кольоровій гамі тканини. Проте, мені не дуже сподобалася якість тканини: вона дуже еластичне, розтягується аж занадто. Одразу я її не купила, мала продумати модель і натрапила на відповідну в рекламі журналу за два тижні до його виходу:-) Тож купила тканину і чекала на журнал, Burda 11/2019, який купила заради сукні 119 (така сама модель #6165 Burda PDF).

Набір прикрас, сережки "Рубіновий гранат", та намиста "Рубіновий гранат" І і ІІ були зроблені спеціально до цієї сукні.

Making the dress, I followed the instruction. The sewing was not hard probably because the fabric is thick and dense enough. I even made the slit in the bottom of centre back seam although many years replace them for folds almost every time. I do it because while wearing the clothing, the slits stretches and becomes open. To make them keep the shape is possible to some degree if to reinforce them after slight gathering the fabric along the slit (as on the upper photo). As the fabric is very stretching I also reinforced the seam allowance for the zipper.

Шила сукню за інструкцією. Пошиття було нескладним можливо тому, що тканина доволі товста і щільна. Я навіть шліцу зробила по низу центру спинки, хоча вже багато років майже щоразу заміняю їх на складки. Роблю це бо під час носіння шліци розтягуються та відкриваються. Примусити їх тримати форму до певної міри можливо якщо зміцнити припуск після попереднього зібрання тканини вздовж шліци (як на верхньому фото). Оскільки тканина дуже еластична, також я зміцнила припуск на пришивання "блискавки".

The slit's corners were processed in this way, it made the bottom  a little lighter. 

Кутки шліци обробила таким чином. Це зробило низ сукні трохи легшим.

I decided to refuse from the lining. So at first I sewed in the sleeves and then processed the neck hole with the facing. 

Вирішила відмовитися від пришивання підкладки. Тож спочатку вшила рукава, потім обробила горловину обшивкою.

I only lined the yokes and low parts of the bodice. At first, stitched the detail, then sewed it along waist seam to the dress and then sewed the rest of edges. Entirely hand work. 

Обробила підкладкою лише кокетки та нижні частини верху сукні. Спочатку зшила деталь. Потім пришила її вздовж шва талії, а потім вже пришила краї. Цілковито ручна робота.
