Empire Style Dress, or Nymph Among the Ruins :-)

 

The last "made for Albania" dress. If the first of them was practical, the second one - charismatic, this one certainly can be called romantic. Besides, it is the simplest not only among them but probably among all of the dresses I have ever made:-) The dress was being worn and, if to dig deeper, even sewed:-) specially to visit Butrinti, an impressive ancient site in the self-titled Albanian national park. If a visitor has a well-developed imagination and keeps on mind that only 5% of the remnants were excavated, the town looks colossal. One more feature - the place is in the park so even in hot weather it feels quite comfortable to wander there. The surrounding landscapes are not less fabulous. All that mix puts in a romantic dreamy mood and, if to focus on the guide's story instead of a photo session, makes think poetically about the lost greatness of the Ancient World's, archeological heritage and life's transience. The voyage by boat around the lake and a light dinner with mussels and vine match such a mood perfectly:-)

Сукня в стилі ампір, або Німфа серед руїн :-)

Остання "зроблена для Албанії" сукня. Якщо перша з них практична, а друга - харизматична, то ця, вже напевно,  романтична. Крім того, ця - найпростіша у виконанні не лише серед вказаних трьох, а, мабуть, з усіх, чи з більшості, які я колись робила. Сукню одягала, а якщо копнути глибше, то навіть і спеціально пошила:-), для відвідування Бутринту, вражаючого стародавнього міста в однойменному албанському національному парку. Якщо у відвідувача гарно розвинута уява і він постійно має на увазі що розкопаних залишків лише 5%, місто виглядає колосальним. Ще одна визначна риса - пам'ятка знаходиться в парку, тож навіть в спеку блукати там доволі комфортно. Краєвиди навколо - не менш казкові. Вся ця суміш занурює у замріяний романтичний настрій і, якщо зосередитися, замість фотосесії,  на розповіді гіда,  примушує якось поетично замислитися про втрачену велич стародавнього світу, археологічну спадщину та про швидкоплинність життя. В такий настрій прекрасно вписується прогулянка на човнику по озеру та легка вечеря з мідіями та вином:-)

The garment is made by Burda PDF pattern 6686C but the same model can be sewed by pattern #135 from Burda 5/2003. I was indifferent to the pattern in the magazine but when seeing its interpretation in a catalogue,  at once understood how cute it can be.

Вбрання зроблено за викрійкою Burda PDF 6686С, але таку саму модель можна пошити за викрійкою №135 з Burda 5/2003. Сукня в журналі мене ніколи не цікавила, але побачивши її інтерпретацію в каталозі, одразу зрозуміла, якою милою вона може бути. 

The dress made of viscose. I had the piece 2 m x 140 cm which was bought for other pattern which I got tired of not making it for so long:-) The dress takes much less fabric. 

Сукню пошито з віскозного штапелю. Відріз 2 м х 140 см був куплений для іншої моделі, яку я вже втомилася так довго не шити:-) На виріб пішло набагато менше тканини. 

The sewing took few hours so I forgot to make photos to illustrate the process, besides, the PDF patterns have enough own pictures. My tip is to start gathering not right from the side. 

На пошиття пішло декілька годин, тож фото проілюструвати процес, я забула зробити. Крім того, PDF файли мають достатньо своїх малюнків. Моя порада - починати призбирування не з самого бокового краю. 

The hardest part for me was to pull the elastic ribbon through the pipes evenly, especially for the neckhole. The length of the elastics is very individual. For instance, mine turned to be 14 cm shorter than recommended in the instruction. 

Найскладнішим для мене виявилося рівномірно протягнути еластичну стрічку в куліски, особливо для вирізу горловини. Довжина такої стрічки індивідуальна, у мене, наприклад, на 14 см коротша за рекомендовану в інструкції. 

The summer is approaching to the end quicker than I wish it did but I hope to make a couple of items inspired by my this year sea vacation:-) 

Літо збігає до кінця швидше ніж хотілося б, але маю надію пошити пару речей натхненних цьогорічними морськими канікулами:-)
