About Me

My photo
My blog's main subjects are sewing, the thing in which I am experienced the most, and beadwork, which is, in fact, pushed me into blogging. I am also engaged in knitting and crocheting. All together they are the set of skills which I use to make my wardrobe my whole life. These are not my only interests, I also like the English language (that's one of the reasons that my blog is bilingual), try to travel around my country and abroad (when can afford it), am interested in art (to the degree of a dilettante but nevertheless) and adore the people who can create anything beautiful or useful whatever it is :-) So welcome to a needlecrafter diary!

Confetti Sweater

The only feature of this sweater is the yarn it is knitted from. And not the fibre itself but its  joyful bright colour style reminding confetti, rainbow, firework and carnival all in one:-)
It was bought absolutely spontaneously a couple of years ago. I really yield such instant temptations of purchasing very rarely but it takes place. Sometimes it is even useful because sudden either actions or events and emotions can happen to be surprisingly wonderful and bring much more enjoyment than the expected.

The sweater is surely plain. But this used yarn, Rainbow from YarnArt, doesn't need any complex pattern so I chose model 6 from old Susanna magazine 1/2005 with a couple of modifications concerning the collar and the length of the sweater.
The necklaces turned out to be a worthy and winsome accessory for the outfit and justified the expectations:-)

As it was mentioned above, the model is from the old magazine and at that times short sweaters were popular. I could never understand that because it is strange to have warm sweater that doesn't make some very essential parts of our body warm but nevertheless... So I lengthened mine for 10 cm.
I also followed the bigger size instructions because my gauge was larger so not recalculate all the pattern it was easier to work.

Instead I made the shorter collar. I also changed the way of the decreasing for the front neck hole to adjust it to the ribs pattern at least about.

The only real recalculations were made for the sleeves. Right because of my wrong gauge I had to increase the stitches in every 6th row for all the sleeves' length and to get the nice curve for the caps the way of decreasing was differed as well.
