Empire Waist Dress, or Purple Amsterdam II

Time after time the reasons to make some new outfit do sound strange! For example, the idea to sew this dress appeared because I used to have two purple dresses and none of them are good to wear now. One of them because it's worn enough to be thrown away and the other because I gained weight and it became too tight so I had to give it away to somebody slimmer. Sometimes this latter dress (which was called Amsterdam by the name of its fabric despite nobody in the store could explain me what was the connection between the city and the material) was worn with the accessory that is still more than good. I mean a purple stole knitted from fluffy yarn imitating fur. The stole is awesome and very warm but matches nothing in my wardrobe. So try and guess how I corrected the situation? I sewed a new purple dress. Besides the stole, the new outfit also inherited the name of its predecessor because I liked that dress and the way it got its title.

Сукня з підрізом ампір, або Фіолетовий Амстердам ІІ 

Час від часу причини пошиття одягу звучать справді дивно! Наприклад, думка пошити це вбрання з'явилася тому, що колись у мене було дві фіолетових сукні і жодну з них вже не можна носити. Одна з них зношена достатньо для того щоб її викинути, а інша стала мені затісною через те що я набрала вагу і довелося віддати її комусь стрункішому. Іноді ця друга сукня (названа "Амстердам" за найменуванням тканини на ціннику, хоча в крамниці мені так ніхто і не зміг пояснити зв'язок між містом і матеріалом) доповнювалася аксесуаром, який все ще кращий ніж просто гарний. Маю на увазі фіолетову столу, сплетену з пухнастої пряжі що імітує хутро. Стола прекрасна і дуже тепла, але вона ні до чого в моєму гардеробі не пасує. Тож здогадайся, як я виправила ситуацію? Пошила нову фіолетову сукню. Крім столи від своєї попередниці вона також успадкувала ім'я, тому що мені подобалася і та сукня і те, як вона отримала свою назву.

The chosen pattern, Burda #6365, is simple and it is good for any age, figure and time, I mean it is casual classics, my mum could wear such a dress and my granny as well (the same things I used to write about model #124 from Burda 12/2013 :-)) The new experience: first time I bought the pattern online. What I like about that - I shouldn't trace the pattern and have two ready to cut models. What I didn't like - too much wasting paper. 

Обрана модель, Burda #6365, проста і підходить для будь якого віку, фігури і часу, маю на увазі, що це класична повсякденна сукня, таку саму могла б носити моя мама і, так само, бабуся (те саме я колись написала про модель 124 з Burda 12/2013 :-)) Новий досвід: перший раз я купила викрійку online. Що мені сподобалося: не треба переводити викрійку на папір і у мене є дві готових для крою моделі. Що не сподобалося: забагато залишків паперу. 

The sewing is simple and the instruction is clear and has many drawings. I only decreased the neckhole for 2 cm to make it possible to wear the dress to work. 

Пошиття просте, інструкції зрозумілі і супроводжуються ілюстраціями. Я лише зменшила виріз на 2 см, щоб одягати сукню на роботу.

How I process the slit not to let it stretch and open while wearing the dress. 

Як я обробляю розріз, щоб він не деформувався і не  відкривався під час носіння сукні.

The sleeve's facing was cut to 3 cm width as my fabric is thicker than supposed. 

Обшивки рукавів було зрізано до ширини 3 см оскільки у мене тканина товща ніж передбачається моделлю.
