Pink & White Melange Hat

Two more projects were made in December but the sharing was postponed on some reasons, or, more likely, without any worthy to be mentioned here :-) First of them is a knitted hat, as my new stunning coat needed to be complete with it to be worn in colder season. I didn't have much time to make it, and wanted to use the yarn remnants from the previoius projects so the hat pattern had to be simple. Confetti Crush pattern from garnstudio Drops Design meets those requiements entirely. To be honest, I didn't think a lot about the hat's model and used the first one I came across on their site. 

The hat is knitted with two threads, pink and white. I knitted the hat flat and then sewed, as it is quicker for me, with less number of cast stitches as my tenshion was different from the site's. 

The ready item is warm and beautiful, and matches the coat perfectly. 

Рожево-біла меланжева шапка 

Ще два проєкти було створено в грудні, але поділитися я ними не встигла з різних причин, або, вірогідніше, без жодних, про які тут варто згадувати :-) Перший з них - це плетена на спицях шапка, оскільки моє нове приголомшливе пальто треба було нею доповнити аби одягати в холодні місяці. У мене не було багато часу на плетіння і хотіла використати залишки пряжі від минулих виробів, тому модель мала бути простою. Тож Confetti Crush pattern from garnstudio Drops Design. цілком відповідала цим критеріям. Насправді, я не переймалася вибором моделі і використала першу яку побачила на їхньому сайті. 

Шапку связано двома нитками, рожевою і білою. Плела її розгорнуто а потім зшила, тому що мені так швидше, з меншою кількістю набраних петель оскільки щільність плетіння у мене трохи відрізняється від опису на сайті. Готовий виріб гарний, теплий і чудово пасує до пальта.

Short Raglan Coat, or Stubbornness in Carnation Pink

The most surprising thing about making this coat is the level of my boosted stubbornness, a rare but highly appreciated feeling, to sew it :-) I bought Burda 9/2025 issue mainly because of this pattern #118. Despite my stash, which sometimes represses me by impossibilty to use it in full whenever, I bought this stunning carnation pink wool-blend fabric, quite thin but dense and soft boucle, purposely to sew this model. And despite the 14-hour power cuts which we had for few weeks after massive shellings, I managed to finish the garment. And I'm happy with the outcome absolutely! Actually, it concerns not only the coat, the completed outfit implies the skirt, which is already in process, made of the lining's fabric and a pullover made of thin knits. Besides, on Thusday I knitted a quick nice hat of the yarn remnats left from old projects. Thus, if you want to know how embodiment of stubbornness looks, here I am in my pink coat :-)

Коротке пальто з рукавами реглан, або Впертість в кольорі рожевої гвоздики 

Найдивовижніша річ в пошитті цього пальта - це рівень моєї активізованої впертості, рідкісне, але цінне почуття, з якою я хотіла його зробити :-) Я купила випуск Burda 9/2025 переважно саме через цю модель 118. Незважаючи на мої запаси тканин, які іноді пригнічують мене неможливістю свого повного використання хоч колись, я купила цю чудову  напіввовну, тонке, проте, щільне і м'яке букле, приголомшливого рожевого кольору, спеціально для пошиття цієї моделі. І, незважаючи на 14-годинні відключення світла, які тривали у нас декілька тижнів після масивних обстрілів, мені таки вдалося це вбрання закінчити. І я в захваті від того, що у мене вийшло! Взагалі, це стосується не лише цієї моделі, повний образ включає спідницю, яка вже в роботі, з тканини підкладки та пуловер з тонкого трикотажу. Крім того, в четвер я сплела просту гарну шапку з залишків пряжі зі старих проєктів. Тож, якщо хочете побачити втілення впертості, то це я в своєму рожевому пальті :-)

The only change I made was lengthening the coat for 6 cm as I don't understand warm coats or jackets not covering the butts. I cannot say we have too cold winters but they are definitely windy and often can be quite damp so comfort and warmth for me are must for such kind of clothing. It also might be worth making the garment a size less as well but maybe it is not, as now I can wear a thick sweater under the coat.

Єдина зміна, яку я внесла - подовжила пальто на 6 см. Я не розумію теплих пальт та жакетів, які не прикривають сідниці. не можжу сказати, що у нас аж таки холодні зими, але вони точні вітряні і часто доволі сирі, тож комфорт і тепло для мене в такому одязі обов'язкові. Можливо варто було зробити жакет на розмір менше, а може і ні, бо зараз під нього можна одягнути товстий светр.

Processing of te pockets.

For the lining I chose beautiful soft polyester sateen. I also cut a bias cut skirt of this fabric which is in progress as it was mentioned above.

Обробка кишень.

Підкладку я покроїла з того, що у нас називається армані шовк, а насправді це поліестеровий сатин. Як вже згадувалося вище, з цієї ж тканини у мене вже в роботі коса спідниця.

Before sewing the facing, the front edge is reinforced by a stay tape. The front detail must be gathered at about 2 cm to avoid further stretching and opening of the front details while wearing the ready coat.

Перед тим як пришивати підборт, край переду треба зміцнити клейовою тасьмою. Саму передню деталь треба припосадити десь на 2 см, щоб в подальшому край борта не розтягувався і не розходився під час носіння пальта.

The coat is paired well with pink and grey checked bias skirt and grey wideleg striped trousers.

Пальто добре поєднується з рожево-сірою косою спідницею та широкими сірими смугастими штанами.

Wrap Crepe Chiffon Blouse

It's only November but my April collection enlarged with a new blouse :-) If I go this way and that fast, next April a couple of more blouses could be represented too :-) I don't remember exactly when I cut this crepe chiffon one, probably in May or June, but it is ready at last and the outcome is nothing but awesome! From all this April collection it was the most complex project because of the design and the fabric so I'm really glad it's made. I've worn it to the theatre about ten days ago and it not only looks good, it also feels quite comfortable to wear. 

Блузка з креп-шифону на запах 

Зараз лише листопад, а моя Квітнева колекція вже збільшилася на одну блузку :-) Якщо рухамутимуся так і далі і з такою ж швидкістю, наступного квітня зможу похвалитися ще парочкою блузок :-) Не пам'яттаю точно, коли я її покроїла, можливо у траавні чи червні, але вона нарешті готова і результат прекрасний! З усієї Квітневої колекції ця блузка була найскладнішою і через фасон і через тканину, тож я справді рада, що закінчила її. Днів десять тому одягала до театру і почувалася в ній не менш гарно ніж вона виглядає.

Обробка потаємної планки (в реаліях англійських термінів планка з захованими гудзиками :-))

Despite the wonderful result, I can't say the sewing was cloudless. Whatever I did, I couldn't avoid damage of the threads and pulling (I pointed them in blue on the photo with buttoned collar). It made me upset to some degree while working on the project. 

Незважаючи на захопливий результат, пошиття не було безхмарним. Щоб я не робила, затяжок на тканині не вдалося уникнути (відмітила їх блакитним на фото з застібнутим коміром). Поки працювала над виробом, мене така моя безпорадність справдв засмучувала).

The belt was reinforced. Fortunately, I predicted it would be hard to keep the knot if the belt is too soft. 

I didn't make the plackets on the sleeves, firstly, I hate making that, secondly, probably, that's the reason I wanted to finish the project quicker. 

Such wide cuffs should be trapezium shape to be comfortable. However, I cut them as  the instruction requires so, while sewing, had to make them smaller in size and with air loops to fasten.

Пасок я зміцнила. На щастя, передбачила, що якщо він буде м'який, вузол не триматиметься. 

На рукавах планки не робла. По-перше, я цей процес не люблю, по-друге, і мабуть це і є справжня причина, хотіла закінчити блузку швидше.

Такі широкі манжети варто робити у формі трапеції для комфортного носіння блузки. Проте я вирізала їх як було зазначено в інструкції, тому довелося їх зменшити в процесі роботи і зробити повітряні петлі для застібки.

Navy Wide-Leg Trousers

At last I finished these trousers which are my real obsession from the first sight, of course, if it's possible to say about such a feeling concerning any clothing :-) Awesome pattern, fabulous suiting, and perfect fitting? I am more than satisfied with this sewing cocktail!

Темно-сині широкі штани

Нарешті закінчила ці штани пошиття яких було насправді моєю нав'язливою ідеєю, якщо, звісно, можна такими почуттями описувати ставлення до одягу :-) Чудова викрійка, дивовижна тканина і досконала посадка -  я в захваті від такого кравецького коктейлю!

I guess I matched perfect fabric to this pattern #6573. It is heavy, thick, dense but well draping suiting viscose. There was about 1.80 cm of the material and for me it was not enough to cut the model so I had to add a small patches to the back details. Nobody can find them in the photos of the ready trousers :-)

Вважаю, що підібрала ідеальну тканину для цієї моделі 6573. Це важка, товста, щільна, але при цьому пластична костюмна віскоза. У мене було її десь 1,80 м і для мене це було недостатньо, щоб покроїти модель, тож довелося пришити маленькі клаптики до задніх деталей. На фото готових штанів ви ніколи не знайдете :-)

As the fabric is heavy, I reinforsed both the top edge of the trousers and the facings. To keep the facing on the spot, I topstitched the front belt right into the seam.

Оскільки тканина важка, я зміцнила і верхній край штанів і обшивки. Щоб обшивки трималися на місці, відстрочила передній пасок в шов пришивання.

The back facings joined with the main details only along the back darts. 

Обшивки задніх частин прикріплені до основних деталей лише вздовж виточок.

Air Balloon Brooch

This weekend's mood was to embroider a new brooch. I chose Air Balloon Brooch from Charivna Myt. Probably, also my mood was to fly high and far :-) 

There is a lot of canetille work in this pattern so the work took me much more time than usual, three evenings instead of two. 

Брошка "Повітряна куля" 

Цими вихідними настрій був - вишити нову брошку. Обрала "Повітряну кулю" від "Чарівної миті". Мабуть, крім того, настрій ще і полетіти кудись високо і далеко :-) 

В цій моделі багато роботи з канітеллю, тому на вишивання пішло більше часу ніж зазвичай: три вечори замість двох.

Striped Long Sleeved Pullover

 

Unexpectedly, this weekend I started and finished a project which planned in May. This striped pullover caught my eye from the first sight and I managed to buy materials at once in one of Facebook groups, it was a sign that my choice is right but, unfortunately, I postponed sewing and carried it out only now. The pullover is made of very loose, stretch, and even a little bulgy cotton knits, very pleasant to wear. 

Смугастий пуловер з довгим рукавом 

Несподівано на цих вихідних почала і закінчила проект який планувала ще в травні. Цей смугастий пуловер привернув мою увагу з першого погляду і, в одній з груп на ФБ, одразу вдалося купити всі необхідні матеріали для його відтворення: це був знак, що зробила правильний вибір, проте, на жаль, пошиття відкладалося і реалізувалося лише зараз. Пуловер пошито з дуже рихлого, я б навіть сказала, пухкого, бавовняного трикотажу, дуже приємного до тіла. 

The pullover is made by pattern #120 from Burda 5/2025. Besides the cuffs, I used rib fabric to make a collar. Joining the sleeves was focusing on checking the stripes of the sleeves' cups and arm holes.

The ready garment is very loose because of the fabric, I guess instead of size 44, I could sew size 40. But I am glad with what I got as I am paranoically afraid to have my things too small. 

Пуловер пошито за викрійкою 120 з Burda 5/2025. Крім манжет, з ребристої тканини я викроїла комір. Вшиваючи рукава, була зосереджена на співпадінні смужок пройми та окатів рукавів.

Готовий виріб дуже вільний завдяки тканині, думаю, замість розміру 44, можна було б пошити розмір 40. Але я задоволена тим, що у мене вийшло через мій параноїдальний острах, що я у щось не влізу :-)

Cotton Sateen Blouse-Style Jacket

I can't but confess that this absolutely awesome suit cotton made a lot of fun of me :-) At first, few years I couldn't choose the pattern to sew something of this fabric, and after the garment was ready, it was unexpectedly tricky to match accessories to complete the outfit. In the end, both of the tasks were done and I'm quite delighted with the outcome :-) 

Блузка-жакет з бавовняного сатину 

Маю зізнатися, що ця абсолютно шикарна костюмна бавовна добре з мене познущалася:-) Спочатку декілька років я не могла обрати модель для пошиття хоч чогось з цієї тканини, а як вбрання було готове, стало несподівано складно підібрати до нього доповнення для завершення образу. Зрештою, обидва завдання були виконані і я достатньо задоволена тим, що вийшло :-)

To make this jacket I chose pattern #105 from Burda 5/2020. It is a model of a nice blouse which is loose around shoulders and bust but at the same time is fitting around the waist. In my opinion,  it is a perfect pattern for making a jacket to pair with a bias cut skirt. Thus both of these items put together an excellent suit dress. This latter term sounds a little old fashined and I don't know if it is still being in use in English speaking sewing community but I guess it describes well the ensemble consisting of a blouse and skirt made of the same light fabric.

Для пошиття цього жакету я обрала викрійку 105 з Burda 5/2020. Це модель милої блузки, вільна у плечах та по бюсту, але прилягає по талії. Як на мене, це дуже вдала викрійка для пошиття жакету в пару до косої спідниці. Тож разом ці два предмети утворили прекрасну сукню-костюм. Останній термін звучить трохи старомодно, і не маю жодного уявлення чи його хтось ще вживає, але вважаю, що він добре описує комплект з жакету та спідниці пошитих з однієї і тієї самої легкої тканини.

The sewing is pretty quick, the fabric is not hard in work. The only process I canged is the sewing the sleeves. As the cup sleeve line is just a little curvy, I desided it would be simpler and faster at first to sew it to the armhole and then to join the sleeve and side seams as one single detail. 

Пошиття доволі швидке, тканина нескладна в обробці. Єдине, що я змінила в обробці - вшивання рукавів. Оскільки лінія окату рукава лише трохи вигнута, я подумала, що простіше і швидше буде спочатку вшити рукави в пройми, а потім одніє строчкою з'єднати шви рукавів і бокові шви.

As it was mentioned above, it was confusing to match accessoried to the garment. None of my ideas work and the best choice turned to be Chrysanthemum Brooch and Simple Shapes necklace, I even didn't wear any earrings!

Як вже вище відмітила, підбір аксесуарів до вбрання збентежив. Жодна з моїх ідей не спрацювала, а найкращим варіантом стали брошка "Хризатема" та намисто "Прості форми". Навіть сережки не надягнула!
