Yellow Tulips Shift Dress

 

My new dress made of stretch cotton sateen. It is an easy fabric to sew and looks great in a ready garment. For this dress I chose pattern #115 from 4/2012. I wanted to try it quite long ago because of its unique sleeves which I'd never seen before and which did remind me the shape of a tulip. The ready dress is loose enough to wear in summer but it's possible to make it more fitted if anybody wants, it's possible to add darts either in the front and back or in both details. Сукня-футляр "Жовті тюльпани"

 

Нову сукню пошила з еластичного бавовняного сатину. Легка в пошиві тканина і прекрасно виглядає в готовому виробі. Для цієї сукні обрала модель 115 з Burda 4/2012. Давно хотіла її спробувати через її унікальні рукава, яких я ніколи раніше не бачила і які і справді нагадують своєю формою тюльпан. Готова сукня достатньо вільна, щоб носити її влітку, але, якщо хтось бажає, її можна приталити виточками по переду та/або по спинці. Багатенько уваги я приділила сукня в цьому відео.

The instruction is absolutely helpful and a must to sew the sleeves. I wouldn't manage without it. The sleeves are hemmed by hands.

Без інструкції я б не впоралася з пришиванням рукавів, тож вважаю що вона необхідна. Рукава підшито вручну потайним стібком.

I already wear the garment which I complete with Blue Eye necklace.

White Jumper

 

A new project made more than a week ago and had been planned since Burda 11/2022 issue was published. As soon as I saw this white top #121 and  imagined it paired with bunch of necklaces and these striped trousers, which also were only a plan at that time :-)), I knew I would sew it and wear in such an ensemble. Thus tried to match the right fabric; it had to be neither thick no thin, stretching but not too much, warm but good both for winter and spring :-) However, at first I sewed dress #120 from the same issue using the same pattern, and now, at last the top. I made a short review of this ready item in this video, it is in Ukrainian but it's possible to understand what kind of knit fabric I used.

Білий джемпер

Новий проєкт закінчений більше тижня тому і запланований з того моменту як вийшов з друку Burda 11/2022. Щойно я цей топ #121 побачила, уявила його скомбінованим з купою намист та цими штанами в смужку, які тоді теж були лише планом :-)), зрозуміла що пошию його обов'язково і носитиму саме в такому комплекті. Тож намагалася підібрати гожу тканину: щоб була не тонка і не товста, щоб добре тягнулася, але і недуже, щоб і в зимку можна було одягнути, але і в міжсезон не парило. Проте, першою за цією ж викрійкою пошила сукню #120 з того ж випуску, а тепер,  нарешті, і черга топу настала. В цьому відео є невеличкий огляд готового джемперу, тож можна добре зрозуміти який самий трикотаж я використала.

When writing about the mentoned dress, I also paid main attention to sewing the zipper as it is the only time consuming detail in this model. This time I didn't top stitch the neck hole, but, instead, stitched the neckhole edge seam allowance to the the facing by hand.

Коли писала про згадану вище сукню, також приділила увагу  вшиванню блискавки, оскільку в цій моделі це єдина деталь, яка потребує трохи часу. Цього разу я не оздоблювала горловину строчкою, замість цього пришила припуск краю горловини до обшивки вручну.

Abstract Flame Blouse

I've already told quite a lot about sewing this blouse in video review #18 and mentioned in the planning review #16 (video in Ukrainian) so now just want to show the ready garment on me. It does look lovely and I was working on it with pleasure, I am also delighted with wearing it as these couple of weeks in May are probably the only time in year good for wearing blouses in my place :-)

Блузка "Абстрактне полум'я"

Я вже доволі багатенько розповідала про пошиття цієї блузки в відео огляді №18 і також згадувала в огляді про планування пошиття №16, тому зараз хочу лише представити себе вбрану в цю гарну річ, над якою і працювала зі задоволенням. Також цілком чарівно почуваюся маючи нагоду поносити її ці пару тижнів травня, бо саме зараз і є чи не єдиний період, коли у нас тут можна ходити в блузках:-)

The blouse is made by pattern #105 from Burda 11/2019 without any changes. The sewing is quick and simple. I was surprised that the fabric didn't cause any troubles despite I had some prejudice as for it. These kinds of fabris are called soft here, it is a kind of polyester silk, a little stretchy but not too smooth. They can be either thin or sick but look and wear fine, the less it stretches the easier to sew with them. 

However, I wish I had made the sleeves, which I usually shorten, longer at least for a couple of centimeters. I guess because of wide elastic which, in fact, plays a role of a cuff here, and the sleeve should be cut longer for half a cuff's width. But it's individual, of course.

Блузку пошито за викрійкою 105 з Burda 11/2019 без змін. Пошиття швидке і просте. Мене здивувало, що тканина не спричинила проблем, це ж софт, а працювати з ними буває по різному: в даному випадку пощастило, тканина середньої щільності, тягнеться помірно. 

Проте, хотілося б завважити, що рукава, які я зазвичай вкорочую, тут краще було б подовжити хоча б на пару сантиметрів. Думаю це через широку резинку, яка тут грає роль манжета, а рукав варто подовжувати на половину ширини манжету. Але це індивідуально, звісно.

The blouse is paired perfect with my grey trousers, as it meant to be, and a bunch of green necklaces.

 

Блузка прекрасно поєднується з моїми сірими штанами, як і було задумано, і в'язкою зелених намист.

I also liked the blouse paired with Boucle Skirt. To complete the outfit I have enough big choice of jewellery, Orange, Purple, and Colourful sets.

Також мені сподобалося як блузка поєднується зі спідницею з букле. Щоб завершити образ маю широкий вибір прикрас: оранжевий, бузковий і барвистий набори.

Despite I missed that #AprilBlouse challenge again, yet I enjoyed the process of matching patterns and fabrics as well as planning so decided to unite my ideas in a small April collection. More than that, it occurred to me to go on with such thematical collections to motivate and challenge myself to complete them ever:-)

Хоча я в черговий раз і пропустила те змагання квітневих блузок, все ж таки мені сподобалося процес підбирання тканин і моделей так само як і планування, тож я вирішила об'єднать свої ідеї в маленьку квітневу колекцію. Більш того, мені спало на думку продовжувати з такими тематичними серіями для само-мотивації, щоб колись їх таки закінчити:-)

Daisy Pillow

Today's project is a homedecor item, a pillow I refreshed using the remnants from my Tavria Skirt made two years ago. The old pillow case was worn entirely and had to be replaced. I was going to make that right after sewing the skirt but the right time cam only today :-) Now it looks even better than it was before. 

Подушка "Ромашки"

Сьогоднішній проєкт - це предмет домашнього декору, наволочка, яку я освіжила за допомогою залишків з пошиття моєї спідниці "Таврія". Стара наволочка повністю зносилася та потребувала заміни. Збиралася зробити це одразу після пошиття спідниці, але час настав лише зараз :-) Зараз подушка виглядає навіть краще ніж раніше.

The embroidered part is a cross-stitched piece I made several years ago when I was engaged in embroidering a lot. 

Вишита частина - це вишитий хрестиком мотив, втготовлений багато років тому коли я багато вишивала.

My Needlecrafts Video Review #18

 

Although May is usually a dead season in my craft room, some life is on in it. In this review, I am telling you about my new blouse #105 from Burda 11/2019 which I was going to make to take part in the #AprilBlouse challenge, but didn't, so just thankful to them for the inspiration:-) I also cut a small light jacket and organized my stash a little:-)

Jersey Belted Cardigan

I don't like writing posts about the garments which have been ready for a few weeks already. On the other hand, in this case I can share the experience of wearing the new clothing and probably it is quite useful to understand if the item is worthy to make. It concerns entirely my new jersey cardigan which I both was making and wear with a great pleasure.

Трикотажний кардиган з паском

Не люблю писати дописи про вбрання яке вже готове декілька тижнів. З іншого боку, в такому випадку можу поділитися  досвідом носіння нового одягу і вірогідно це корисно, щоб зрозуміти чи вартий він пошиття. Це цілком стосується мого нового кардигану який я і шила і одягаю з задоволенням.

It is a very simple pattern easy and quick to sew. I used model 4B from Burda Easy 1/2020 but the same models are #6153 and #108 from Burda 1/2018. The cardigan is made of two layered woolen blend fabric: upper layer is lace and basic layer is jersey. In this video you can watch how the cardigan looks in real (the video is in Ukrainian but it's clear how the fabric looks and feels).

Це дуже проста модель легка і швидка в пошитті. Я використала викрійку 4 з Burda Easy 1/2020, але такою самою є моделі #6153 та  #108 з Burda 1/2020. Кардіган пошито з вошарової змісової тканини: верхній шар - гипюр, основний - трикотаж. В цьому відео можна докладно роздивитися готовий кардиган і тканину.

Besides the belt, I also sewed a snap to keep the front details wrapped when walking around.

Крім паску, я також пришила кнопку, щоб тримати пілочки запахнутими під час прогулянок.

The cardigan doesn't look and feels bulky but on a quite windy and chilly day I even wore a pullover underneath to keep myself warm so it's loose enough. The cardigan pairs well with my new striped trousers.

Не відчувається і не виглядає так, що кардиган якійсь мішкуватий, але у доволі вітряний і прохоллодний день я одягнула під нього пуловер, тож він достатньо вільний. Кардиган добре поєднується з моїми новими смугастими брюками.

Grey Striped Wide Leg Trousers

I made these trousers more than a couple weeks ago and told about them in details in this video. Thus time to write a post about these new pair, in fact, came long ago; on the other hand, thanking to this essential delay I can share photos taken in Kropyvnytskyi Dendropark. I went  there last Saturday to admire tulips blooming and wore the trousers combined with my new cardigan which is supposed to be described in the next post.

Широкі сірі смугасті штани 

Пошила ці штани більше ніж два тижні тому і докладно розповідала про них в цьому відео. Тож час написати про цю нову пару насправді прийшов давно; з іншого боку, завдяки такій суттєвій затримці можу поділитися фото з дендропарку Кропивницького, в який я їздила минулої суботи помилуватися цвітінням тюльпанів і одягала ці штани в комбінації з новим кардиганом, про який має бути наступний допис.

The trousers are sewed by model  #6701 Burda PDF. I often repeat that it's not easy to find a good pattern of trousers for me, this one is surely one of the best.  It is perfect, let me say :-) I cut size 46, so the trousers fit ideally around my hips and very loose around my waist. Not to intrude in the hips fitting, I didn't narrow the trousers to the midsection, instead added the loops to the band and wear a belt to get right and comfort fitting around the waist.

Штани пошиті за викрійкою #6701 Burda PDF. Я часто повторюю,  що мені не так легко підібрати гарну викрійку штанів, ця точно одна з найкращих. Можу навіть сказати, що вона досконала :-) Покроїла розмір 46, тож штани ідеально сидять в стегнах, проте в талії - дуже вільно. Щоб не порушувати таку прекрасну посадку, вирішила не звужувати штани в талії, замість цього додала шльовки до поясу і приталюю собі паском, щоб сиділо гарно і комфортно.

In this video I was telling about the cutting the trousers and mentioned that I had not enough fabric to get the right length of the garment. So I hemmed the trousers with a kind of cuffs adding the necessary length at the same time.

В цьому відео я описувала розкрій штанів і згадувала, що у мене недостатньо тканини, щоб отримати необхідну довжину виробу. Тож низ штанів я обробила імпровізованими манжетами водночас додаючи бажану довжину.

My first photos were taken probably next day after the trousers were ready but I forgot that the zipper is in the back and pressed them wrong so, despite I liked the photos, it's clear the ironing was not correct and new photos were necessary :-)

Перша фотосесія була, мабуть, наступного дня після пошиття штанів, але я забула, що блискавка на спинці і випрасувала їх неправильно, тож незважаючи на те, що фото мені подобаються, видно що прасування - помилкове і довелося перефотографуватися :-)

The outfits created with two blouses: Red Simple and Sleeveless, and sets of jewllery: Fogs & Roses Necklaces and Earrings, and small earrings and choker.

Вбрання складені з двома блузками,  Червоною простою і Без рукавів, та наборами прикрас: намистом та сережками "Імла і троянда", та маленькими сережками і намистом-чокером.
