Purple Corduroy Shirt Jacket (Shacket)

Because of this fabric's qualities, my new project was not very quick and I had some difficulties while sewing it but I worked on my shirt jacket with pleasure and I am quite happy with the outcome. Generally, I didn't sew much of corduroy but I like both working with it and wearing it. This fabric's mystic violet colour, solemn and deep, attracted me so much that I couldn't resist and bought a piece to add made of it garment to my wardrobe some day. At once my idea was to make a kind of a shirt of this corduroy and pair the attire with a new brown knit pencil skirt. 

Фіолетова вельветова сорочка-жакет 

Через якості тканини цей проєкт не був дуже швидким і у мене були деякі складнощі при пошитті, але працювала я над своїм жакетом із задоволенням і радію з результату. Загалом, я не багато шила вельветових речей, але мені подобається і працювати з цією тканиною і носити вироби з неї. Містичний фіолетовий колір матеріалу, урочистий і глибокий, привабив мене достатньо, щоб я не втрималася і купила відріз аби з часом додати якесь вбрання з нього до мого гардеробу. Одразу планувала пошити якусь сорочку з цього вельвету та поєднувати з моєю новою коричневою трикотажною спідницею.

To make a shirt, I chose model #2501-5C from Burda Easy 1/2025. This pattern's number is on our Ukrainian Burdastyle site so I don't know if it corresponds the patterns in foreign issues. Besides, we don't have printed magazines of the kind so I bought a PDF pattern. 

The main difficulty while sewing was the density and thickness of the fabric so it was not that easy to stich few shares of the fabric. 

The pockets sewed 4 cm lower than in the model to wear a belt but it would be worthy to sew them a couple more cm lower. 

I recommend at first to sew sleeves, check the length, and only then sew cuffs. My sleeves were shortened for 3 cm.

Для пошиття сорочки я обрала модель 2501-5C p Burda Easy 1/2025. Це нумерація з нашого українського сайту Burdastyle, тож не знаю чи відповідає він нумерації в іноземних виданнях. Крім того, у нас неммає друкованого видання тож купила викрійку PDF. 

Головною складністю була щільність і товщина тканини тож було нелегко строчити декілька шарів матеріалу. 

Кишені пришито на 4 см нижче ніж по моделі заради носіння паска, але варто було б пришити їх ще ще на пару см нижче. 

Рекомендую також спочатку вшити рукави, перевірити  довжину і лише потім пришивати манжети. Мої рукави вкорочені на 3 см.
