Waves & Roses Jersey Dress

 It would be strange for me to live among my parents' garden splendour and avoid the influence of its beauty on my needlework life. And it is easy to guess that I couldn't :-) Posh blooming, nice pattern, and matching fabric gathered together at the right time and at the right place and I just couldn't but unite them in this simple but pretty amazing dress:-)

Трикотажна скня "Троянди та хвилі" 

Було б дуже дивно для мене жити серед пишноти садочка моїх батьків і уникнути впливу його краси на моє рукотворне життя... Легко здогадатись, що я і не змогла:-)) Розкішне цвітіння, гарна модель і тканина, що просто благала пошити з неї хоч щось, обрали правильний час і місце, щоб об'єднатися в цій простій, але вельми ефектній сукні:-)

Fabric

Fabric, viscose knits, gave me no chance to leave the store without it. But when I put the paper details on it for the cutting I was far from being admired with my choice because the fabric gave me no hope to cut the dress symmetrically as well... it is just asymmetrical (what I like not much with the prints) so I chose a very relative middle of one of the roses garlands to consider it the very relative centre and just followed the ... roses... Right because of such a crazy fabric pattern the dress's front and back parts look different.

Тканина

Тканина, віскозний джерсі, не залишила мені шансів піти без неї з крамниці, але коли я розклала на ній деталі крою, вона, так само, не залишила мені жодної надії на симетричний крій... вона просто асиметрична ( що мені не дуже подобається, коли мова їде про тканини з узором), тому я вибрала дуже умовну середину однієї з трояндових гірлянд, щоб вважати її дуже умовним центром і просто попливла за течією... Якраз через таке божевільне розташування узору спинка і перед сукні виглядають по-різному.

Model
I knew I would make this dress #121 as soon as I saw it in Burda 6/2015. I am never able to resist the perfect silhouette and one single piece sleeve:-)
Besides, the issue is absolutely special for me... I hardly can remember anything more... unusual ever happened to me. But if I go on with the comments, the vanity can overwhelm my modesty entirely so let the picture speak itself :-)

Я знала, що пошию цю сукню  №121 щойно побачила її в журналі Burda 6/2015. Досконалий силует і цільнокроєний рукав - деталі проти яких я ніколи не в змозі  встояти :-)
До того ж цей випуск журналу для мене такий особливий... Не пригадую, коли зі мною траплялось щось таке ж незвичайне... мабуть ніколи. Якщо продовживатиму коментувати, моє марнославство остаточно поглине мою скромність, тому нехай фото говорить саме за себе:-)

Sewing Notes
Some words about my changes in cutting.
1. My usual adjustment of the back as my length of the back measure is shorter than Burda's.

Зауваження щодо пошиття

І декілька слів щодо змін в крої сукні.
1. Звична модифікація лінії плеча через те, що моя мірка довжини спинки коротша ніж у викрійках Burda.

2. It was obvious that the corners of the neckhole and front slit will be open so I decided to make the facing wider to prevent its edge from being seen.

2. Одразу ж було зрозуміло, що куточки вирізу горловини і розрізу будуть відкриватись, тому я викроїла ширшу обшивку, щоб її край в такому разі не було видно.

3. As for sewing the gathered edge. When the gathering is pretty thick it happens the fabric twists underneath and gets into the seam so then you have to remake parts of the seam. To prevent this I put the piece of tracing paper while sewing on the machine. It helps.



3. Щодо зшивання призібраних частин. Коли зборки дуже щільні, буває, що тканина під низом перекручується і потрапляє в шов під час роботи на машинці, щоб цьому запобігти, можна підкласти під низ шматочок кальки. Допомагає.

 

I see my wardrobe looks quite fine this summer... so let's stay feminine and nice until we are able to:-)

Непоганий гардеробчик збирається у мене цього літа... то залишаймося жіночними і гарними поки ми на це здатні:-)
