Tulip Top

Oddly enough but the time of the Tulip Top came and it is only the end of February... And I am glad that I made it before the tulips' fading :-)
I live in the locality where people never stop speaking about gardening and even in the coldest winter days the time of grape vine's cutting is being discussed. So nothing surprising is in the fact that as soon as snowdrops appear, and it happened in the beginning of February this year, most of us started thinking about the most awaited tulip blossoming. For example, me and my friend have already enrolled in all the possible future excursions to see those flowers in full beauty here. But winter often happens to remember about its not very gentle reputation and that February in Ukrainian is called "lyutyi" (or very very angry, i.e. "fierce" :-)). And it means that the weather became worst, frosty nights come back and our usual winter  tiring greyness grow into real gloom. So it seems sewing such a thing, as my Tulip Top, is in some way to express the sympathy to the light and warmth :-)

The half tila bracelet, twist peyote bracelet, earrings and the pendant were made before or much before specially to match this top :-)

 Топ "Тюльпани"

Як не дивно, але черга до тюльпанового топу таки дійшла... і це ж лише останній тиждень лютого... і я рада, що пошила його раніше ніж ті тюльпани зів'яли :-)

Я живу в такій місцевості, де люди ніколи не припиняють говорити про роботу у садочку і навіть у найхолодніші зимові дні жваво обговорюється час та необхідність обрізки виноградної лози. Тож нічого дивного немає в тому, що лише варто з'явитися підсніжникам, а цього року це трапилося на початку лютого, більшість з нас починають думати про найбільш очікуване цвітіння тюльпанів. Наприклад, ми з подругою вже записалися   на всі можливі майбутні екскурсії, щоб побачити тут ці квіти у повній красі. Але дуже часто зима раптом згадує про свою далеко не лагідну репутацію, а лютий, то вже ж лютий і так є. І тоді погода погіршується, повертаються морозні ночі, а наша звична набридлива зимова сирість стає ще більш похмурою. Тож, виходить, пошиття такої речі як мій тюльпановий топ, такий собі спосіб виразити прихильність до світла і тепла :-)

(Браслет з половинок тіли, перекручений пейот, сережки і кулон були зроблені раніше або набагато раніше спеціально до цього топу :-))

I can't but repeat that Burda's issues since last August have a lot of models that I like. And it seems I haven't missed any issue since then and it didn't happen pretty long.
The pattern #119 from Burda 10/2017 turned to be really nice both in the magazine and in reality. So the top was  doomed to be sewed from the first sight and this time I didn't hesitate to change the pattern the fabric was bought for.
When sewing I omitted the zipper. And after trying the top on, it was clear it would be better to make it a little longer. So as I had 4 cm for hemming, I used to hem only 2 cm to save the length, and wouldn't mind lengthening the top for 2 or 3 cm more.





Не можу не повторитись, що з минулого серпня всі числа Burda мають багато моделей, які мені подобаються. І, здається, я не пропустила з того часу жодного видання, а такого вже давно не траплялося.
Модель 119 з Burda 10/2017 виявилася справді гарною і в журналі і в реальному житті. Тож топ був приречений до пошиття і цього разу я не вагалася змінити модель, для якої було куплено тканину.
Під час пошиття відмовилася від "блискавки". І після примірки, стало зрозуміло, що краще б топ був трохи довший. Тому з припуску в 4 см на підшивку пішло 2 см, а два на подовження, і я б була не проти додати до довжини ще 2-3 см.

This time as almost always the neck hole was processed with the facing. I still think it looks neater and the shape of the neck hole is kept steadier.

Цього разу, як майже завжди, виріз горловини обробила обшивкою. Я все ще вважаю, що так виглядає охайніше і краще утримується форма вирізу.

I also very  like all details of the waist. I think it would be nice to add some piping to the detail 22 but as I had nothing matching, I didn't do that.  My half rings are 2.5 cm instead of 3 cm so the detail c) is a little draping but I am sure it would be draping anyway because of the used fabric that is thin soft knits.



Мені також подобаються всі деталі талії. Думаю було б гарно обробити деталь 22 кантом, але у мене нічого гожого не знайшлося, тому я цього не зробила. Напівкільця  у мене 2,5 см замість 3 см, тому деталь с) трохи драпується, але впевнена. що це було б в будь якому випадку через тканину, тонкий м'який трикотаж.

PS. The fabric turned to be not very good as it got peeled after a couple times of washing.

PS. Тканина виявилася не дуже доброю, через два прання вона почала ворситися.
