Dolce Vita

White colour  is a symbol of purity... it is considered... As for me, if to talk about clothes (the uniform of cooks and doctors are not implied), white is a colour of  sweet idleness :-) Really, who wears white while cleaning, cooking, gardening or buying food? The other deal when one drinks coffee or tea in the shadow of the terrace facing the incredible seascape or strolling on the board of cruise liner, or visit fashion exhibition or whatever else women in white dresses and men in white pants do. I, actually, have no clue about that but surely can afford some idling in summer and am absolutely able to sew a white outfit:-)

Білий  колір  - символ чистоти... кажуть...  Як на мене, якщо говорити про одяг (уніформа медиків і кухарів до уваги не береться), то білий - це колір солодкого неробства :-) Справді, скажіть, хто вбирається в біле, коли прибирає кімнату, працює на городі, готує їсти, або прямує за продуктами? Інша справа - пити каву або чай в затінку на терасі з неймовірним видом на море, або прогулюватись по палубі круїзного лайнеру (білого, до речі), або відвідувати модну виставку... або чим там ще таким займаються жінки в білих сукнях та чоловіки у білих штанях.  Я про це не маю жодного уявлення, але вже напевно влітку можу собі дозволити трохи побайдикувати та пошити біле вбрання:-)

Selecting a pattern was not so quick although the fabric was bought not less than two years ago. But probably after sewing few pretty simple designs my ambitions of the former tailor rebelled at last and I gave the try to this "Coco" dress from Burda Vintage 2014. A quite complex pattern with many details and great fitting, besides,  lined up fully. My fabric is absolutely different from the suggested in the magazine and it was very good because simplified the process of the sewing to some degree. I had about 1.50 m x 140 cm of cotton linen rayon blend jacquard for the dress. As for the lining, the salesgirl sweared the fabric was rayon but it surely wasn't so as soon as its patch adhered to the hot iron's platform, I found some nice thin cotton viscose blend in my stash that had had to become a blouse one day... but wasn't meant to be...:-))

Вибір моделі був не такою вже і швидкою справою, хоча тканину було куплено не менше двох років тому. Але, напевно, після пошиття декількох простих моделей мої амбіції колишньої кравчині встали дибки і довелося обрати цю сукню "Коко" з Burda Vintage 2014. Досить складна модель, з багатьма деталями, до того ж повністю дубльована підкладкою. Моя тканина зовсім не така, як пропонує журнал і це дуже добре, бо до певної міри спростило роботу. Мала десь 1,50 x 140 см бавовняно-віскозно-лляного жаккарду для основної частини сукні. Щодо підкладки, то хоча продавчиня і клялася, що воно віскоза, це, звісно, виявилося не так, тому, щойно ця синтетика пристала до гарячої праски, я відшукала в своїх невеличких запасах тонку віскозу (суміш віскози і бавовни), яка мала колись стати блузою... та не судилося...:-))

1. For my dress the details #1 (4 pieces, 2 as main and 2 for lining), #3 (2 pieces for lining), ##2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 were cut of main fabric. #1 (2 pieces for lining), ##3, 4, 6 and were reinforced with interfacing.

1. Для моєї сукні з основної тканини були покроєні деталі №1 (4 деталі, 2 для основи і 2 для підкладки), №3 ( для підкладки), №№ 2,4,5,6,7,8,9. З них № 1 ( 2 деталі підкладки), №№3,4,6 були зміцнені клеєвим флізеліном.

2. The allowance for the slit was strengthened as well with slight gathering to prevent the further opening of the slit while wearing. As the fabric is natural, all the gathering will be well-ironed later.

2.Припуск на розріз по низу спинки теж зміцнюємо, з невеличким призбируванням, щоб запобігти подальшому розтягування краю та відкриттю шліци під час носіння сукні. Оскільки тканина натуральна, то все призборювання добре припрасується згодом.

3. After joining the details of the bodice the front part of the dress and the lining look so.

3. Після зборки всіх деталей передні частини сукні і підкладки виглядають ось так.

4. Before joining the dress and the lining I, in fact, got two dresses without side seams.

4.Перед з'єднуванням сукні і підкладки, у мене, фактично, було дві різні сукні без бокових швів.

5. The main headache of the sewing is joining the dress and the lining. At first join them by the neckline of the caps, then of the yokes and back.

5. Найбільший головний біль пошиття - з'єднування сукні і підкладки. Спочатку зшиваємо їх по лінії горловини чашечок,  потім по лінії горловини кокеток і спинки.

6. And now sew them by the armhole. Start with the front. Now I know why, because if while being on  this stage you still want to finish the work and don't give up, the rest of the sewing becomes just a game for kids. The description in the magazine is pretty detailed so maybe the pictures will be a helpful addition to the explanation.

6.Тепер зшиваємо їх по лінії пройми. Починаємо з передньої частини. І я зараз точно знаю, чому. Якщо на цій стадії, ти все ще хочеш закінчити роботу і не кидаєш ту сукню, тоді все, що залишилося зробити після цього, то просто дитяча забавка. Опис роботи в журналі досить детальний, може фото будуть гарним доповненням до пояснень.

7. The hem is sewed with slip stitch ( ideally 3 stitches in 1 cm). For my fabric it was quick and easy.



7. Низ підшиваємо потайним косим стібком ( в ідеалі - 3 стібка на см). На моїй тканині це було швидко і просто.

8. For some time I hesitated as for the sewing the lining to the slit. On the simple reason that dress has some draping in the front of the skirt and if the lining will be sewed to the slit firmly, it will make the ironing after the washing pretty troublesome. But then yet decided to make all properly.

8. Я вагалася, чи варто пришивати підкладку до шліци. З тієї причини, що спідниця має драпування по переду і намертво пришита підкладка дуже ускладнить його прасування після прання. Але потім все ж таки вирішила зробити все як слід.

9. And before the funniest part of the pairing the outfit with different accessories, I would recommend to sew ( with hand stitches)  the seam allowance of the caps of the dress and the lining. Not along the whole seam but in the widest part just to prevent the lining caps from turning out while wearing the dress.


9. І перед тим, як переходити до найвеселішої частини з паруванням сукні та різних аксесуарів, я б радила зшити вручну припуски на шов чашечок сукні та підкладки. Не вздовж всього шва, але принаймні по найширшій частині, щоб уникнути вивертання внутрішніх чашечок під час носіння сукні.

#3 White and red is very winsome combination but as for this image it seems too... ok, a little provoking. But I guess if for some evening event, it could be. The earrings - red hearts . The necklace form here .

№3 Білий і червоний - це завжди чудове поєднання, але тут образ здається надто... , ну добре, трохи повокуючим. Напевно, якщо для якогось вечірнього виходу, то можна. Сережки - червоні сердечка . Намисто звідси .

#4 Just a little catlike :-) To make a choker I just pin this flower to the matching necklace. Looks pretty romantic...

№4 Нагадує кішку зі стрічкою:-) Просто пришпилила цю квітку до відповідного намиста.  Виглядає досить романтично...

Actually, feel like an enlivened statuette and it is pretty pleasant:-))
I also think in red colour the dress will make stunning effect.



Насправді почуваюся живою скульптурою... і це досить приємно:-)
Я також думаю, сукня виглядатиме приголомшливо пошита в червоному кольорі.
