About Me
- Oksana Starzhynska
- My blog's main subjects are sewing, the thing in which I am experienced the most, and beadwork, which is, in fact, pushed me into blogging. I am also engaged in knitting and crocheting. All together they are the set of skills which I use to make my wardrobe my whole life. These are not my only interests, I also like the English language (that's one of the reasons that my blog is bilingual), try to travel around my country and abroad (when can afford it), am interested in art (to the degree of a dilettante but nevertheless) and adore the people who can create anything beautiful or useful whatever it is :-) So welcome to a needlecrafter diary!

Fan's Fantasy Earrings:-)
So let's go on with magic doings:-) I am very glad that so many things are already known to that part of mankind who consider themselves to be needleworkers, and especially to those who are beaders! On the simple reason that there is no need to invent all those techniques and stitches, and my only task is to use them to make something own while learning. Isn't it wonderful? :-)
The idea for the earrings was taken from here on Fusion Beads. They also have a good tutorial for Brick Stitch Around a Bead; it is fully schemed, so you can improvise and use it for whatever. What I actually did.
The first earring was made exactly according to their instructions, but I didn't like the chosen blue bead and made another variant with a rosy pearl bead. As it is bigger, І changed the design, and my variant seemed to be better ( for me, of course!)
It was not difficult but very pleasant to work on the earrings. And I've got them airy with modest shining. I guess I should try to make a round without a bead someday...It seems I have an idea..:-)

They are absolutely beautiful. They look like tiny mosaic tiles.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much! Yes, I agree that's why they reminded me some Egyptian motifs. In fact, you invented a good name for such kind of the earrings if you don't mind, I would use it for some preject:-)
