Polka Dots Blouse, or Misterious Play

The other days I unexpectedly got two free tickets to so called mono-theatre. Such a theatre means that only one actor is on the stage and he/she must be professional and talented enough not to make you leave the hall before the play finishes. Obviously it was not a formal visit to classic academic theatre, besides, it is yet summer and very hot here. So I just used the occasion to make a new simple and quick project.
As the tickets were presented by my cousin who is not interested in theatre at all, the name of the play remained a mystery for me and my friend until our arrival to the performance.

Днями мені несподівано дісталися два безкоштовні квитки до так званого моно-театру. Такий театр означає, що лише один актор знаходиться на сцені і він/вона має бути достатньо професійним і талановитим, щоб не примусити тебе залишити зал ще до закінчення вистави. Вочевидь це не був формальний візит до класичного академічного театру, крім того зараз все ж таки літо і тут дуже спекотно. Тому я просто скористалася приводом, щоб швидко пошити якусь просту річ.
Оскільки квитки мені подарувала двоюрідна сестра, яка геть не цікавиться театром, то назва п'єси залишалися таємницею для мене і моєї подруги аж до нашого прибуття на виставу.

The blouse #105 from Burda 2/2016. The nice issue, by the way, I've already made three items from it (Dress #112,  Blouse #108) and am planning not less than two more. The money are not wasted:-)


Блуза 105 з Burda 2/2016. Гарне число, до речі. Я пошила з нього вже три речі (Сукня 112, Блуза 108) і планую ще не менше двох, тобто гроші - не викинуті:-)

I feel my story will go on longer than the sewing of the blouse:-) And it only confirms that it is really quick sewing. Besides, you shouldn't think about the apparel's fitting at all. The only problem concerning fitting - the blouse is very loose (ideal for hot weather!) and it can waggle on the shoulders and untuck from the skirt or pants so choose the longer variant to avoid the latter to some degree.





Відчуваю, що моя розповідь буде довшою за пошиття блузки:-) І це лише доводить, що проект і справді швидкий. Крім того, зовсім не треба думати про посадку виробу на фігурі. Єдина проблема, що стосується посадки - блуза дуже вільна (ідеальна для спеки!), тому може не триматися на плечах і висмикуватися зі спідниці або штанів, тому обирай довший варіант, щоб до певної міри уникнути хоча б останнього.

And a couple of sewing notes. Firstly, I omitted the slit on the back as the only function of it is to make the sewing complex and the blouse has enough big neck hole to put it on.
Secondly, I top stitched the yoke, arm hole seams and the neck hole as well.


І пара штрихів щодо пошиття. По-перше я відмовилася від розрізу на спинці оскільки єдине його призначення - ускладнити пошиття блузи, яка має достатньо великий виріз горловини, щоб її вдягати.
По-друге, я відстрочила шви притачування кокеток, втачування рукавів і вирізу горловини.

The short sleeve turned out to be long anyway for me. So I cut all the sleeve's hem seam allowance (in my case it was 5 cm instead of the magazine's 9 cm) and then rolled  4 cm from a new edge. (On the photo the initial length).



Короткий рукав виявився для мене все одно надто довгим. Тому я зрізала весь припуск на підгинку рукава (в моєму випадку це було 5 см замість журнальних 9 см) і вже потім підігнула чотири см від нового краю. (На фото початкова довжина).

If the fabric is natural and not as smooth as silk, when processing the hems, you can at first press the seam allowance for 0/5 - 0.7 cm instead of basting. And then draw the final line of the hemming from the fold and then baste (or press) and stitch the seam allowance.



Якщо тканина натуральна і не шовковисто- гладенька, коли обробляєш низ, можна спочатку підвернути припуск на підгинку низу на 0,5-0,7 см і припрасувати її замість заметування. А потім вже від згину намітити кінцеву лінію низу, замітати (або припрасувати) і застрочити припуск.

And the turned up cuff.  If to make it too wide and even to sew it to the sleeve with slip stitch (as recommended in the instruction) but your fabric is pretty heavy, it will not "stick" to its spot. So for me the better idea is to make the cuff narrower (mine is about 3.5 cm) and I always sew it to the sleeve (as here, or pants if they have it) seam in seam. It can be good support for slip stitches:-)



Тепер відворот. Якщо зробити його надто широким і навіть пришити до рукава потайними стібками (як це рекомендовано в журналі), але твоя тканина доволі важка, він не триматиметься на місті.  Тому для мене кращий варіант - зробити його вужчим (у мене десь 3,5 см) і я завжди просто пришиваю його до рукава шов у шов.  Це може бути гарною підтримкою для потайних стібків:-)

That's all: few hours and the outfit is ready. The necklace and the earrings are great pair for the blouse:-) On the photo the blouse is combined with  skirt #105 from Burda 02/2014 made two years ago.
P.S. And what about the play? It turned out to be Gentle Creature by F.M. Dostoyevsky so not let me fall in depression after the performed session of psychoanalysis, my outfit was quite helpful with its cheerfulness :-)





Ось і все: декілька годин і блузка готова. Намисто і сережки - чудова пара до обновки:-)  На фото блузку скомбіновано зі спідницею 105 з Burda 02/2014, яку я пошила два роки тому.
P.S. А щодо п'єси... Нею виявилася "Кроткая" за Ф.М. Достоєвським, отже, щоб мені не впасти в депресію після години сценічного психоаналізу, моє вбрання ще й допомогло своєю життєрадісністю:-)
