About Me
- Oksana Starzhynska
- My blog's main subjects are sewing, the thing in which I am experienced the most, and beadwork, which is, in fact, pushed me into blogging. I am also engaged in knitting and crocheting. All together they are the set of skills which I use to make my wardrobe my whole life. These are not my only interests, I also like the English language (that's one of the reasons that my blog is bilingual), try to travel around my country and abroad (when can afford it), am interested in art (to the degree of a dilettante but nevertheless) and adore the people who can create anything beautiful or useful whatever it is :-) So welcome to a needlecrafter diary!

Plain Top, or If You Have No Wish to Knit
After my experiments with peyote geometry were over and I got an unexpectedly nice the pendant and the earrings set, I was asked if I had any clothes to match the jewelry... Hmm... As a rule, such a question can take me unawares for no more than a couple of seconds:-) And in this particular case I had an immediate answer because on Saturday I sewed a plain top and, what luck!, had an old green skirt in a wardrobe (what a pleasure to be still able to put on the things I made several years ago:-)) and those items matched each other great.
The pattern is #106 from Burda 2/2011. As I had enough fabric, from the remnants I made a cowl to complete the outfit. I made the seam on the centre of the back and sewed a zipper in it.
While sewing I reinforced the shoulder seams and the centre back seam for the length of the zipper. The arm holes require reinforcing too, not to be stretched. There's a special interfacing ribbon for that but if you have none, like me, the arm holes can be just stitched along the edge.
As it was mentioned above, I preferred to make a back centre seam to sew the zipper in it. And so the neck hole is processed with the facing. It is easy to cut using the drafts of the back and front. (I seemed to take the photo but don't have it) :-(
