About Me
- Oksana Starzhynska
- My blog's main subjects are sewing, the thing in which I am experienced the most, and beadwork, which is, in fact, pushed me into blogging. I am also engaged in knitting and crocheting. All together they are the set of skills which I use to make my wardrobe my whole life. These are not my only interests, I also like the English language (that's one of the reasons that my blog is bilingual), try to travel around my country and abroad (when can afford it), am interested in art (to the degree of a dilettante but nevertheless) and adore the people who can create anything beautiful or useful whatever it is :-) So welcome to a needlecrafter diary!

Herringbone Flowers Earrings, or Bluebells Adventures :-)
Have you noticed how much we miss the colours and the brightness given to us by the sun and blue sky and warm days...? I really do... so I took a break from my Unbroken Hearts when the other days saw a pattern of these cute flowers here. I decided to use this beautiful element for some project to match my new-sewed dress (to be exact when I planned all this, the dress was just a piece of fabric but who cares?). In this way I was involved into some kind of needlecrafter's adventures that taught me few things.
The start was pretty easy and optimistic. Beading bluebells took me some time but only because I had to learn the pattern and adjust the size of the flowers for my needs so I made few items to choose which of them I like more. Right after making six bluebells ( two light-blue and one dark-blue for each earring) I made the dress and then came back to the earrings.
For my idea I needed such materials.
After that I made a real beads of the bluebells: I added to each flower the "pistil" made of seed beads and a bicon (4 mm ) and a beadcap.
And now the work stopped for an unknown period of time... I was absolutely perplexed with the view of all those parts which should be connected in some magic way to create the necessary result and I knew no spell for that! All the wisdom of the previous generations, that I absorbed while growing old, revived in my mind and in my ears with my dad's voice. "Whatever man has done, the man can do", "He is lifeless that is faultless", "You never know what you can do till you try"... If reminded in the right time, it is pretty helpful to go on moving:-)
That is the present I made for myself to dispel the dismal daily routine for some time:-)
