Crocheted Necklace, or Fantasy on the Yarn Remnants Theme

It is a quick and nice project to get rid of working days tiredness, to use the yarn remnants, to distract from a big project, which will be ended nobody knows when, and just to make something different to diverse the day. As you see, there are enough reasons to devote an evening to make such a necklace.

Це милий і швидкий проект, щоб позбутися втоми робочих днів, щоб  використати залишки пряжі, відволіктися від великого проекту, який буде закінчено невідомо коли та і просто зайнятись чимось новим, щоб якось урізноманітнити день. Отже, як бачиш, є багато причин, щоб присвятити вечір виготовленню такого намиста.

I casted on a sweater about a week ago and thought at once about some accessory for it because it is being knitted of very bright colourful yarn. I am still on making the sweater's back but I am already have a necklace to complete the future image:-)

Я набрала петлі на светр десь тиждень тому і одразу подумала про якийсь аксесуар до нього, тому що він плететься з дуже строкатої барвистої пряжі. Робота поки що на рівні в'язання спинки, але натомість у мене вже є намисто, щоб доповнити образ:-)

The sweater will be pretty thick so for my accessory I chose big beads of different sizes to crochet. I used to make alike necklace but this time wanted to create something bulky indeed so crocheted the beads with thick yarn and got quite rough pieces.

To make that there are a lot of tutorial on YouTube, just surf. But whatever of them you follow, you should remember that it must be adjusted to the size of your beads, type of yarn and the hook number. So we only see the common idea of that work in the video.

Светр буде достатньо товстим тому для обплетення я обрала великі намистини різних розмірів. Я вже колись робила подібне намисто, але цього разу захотілося створити щось справді громіздке, тому обплітала товстою пряжею і отримала досить грубуваті на вигляд елементи.

Щоб це зробити, на YouTube повно МК, просто задай пошук. Але який би з них ти не обрала, треба пам'ятати, що він має бути пристосований до розміру твоїх намистин, виду пряжі та розміру гачка. Тому на відео ми лише бачимо загальну ідею такої роботи.

After the beads are ready, all what to do is to string them on the jewellery wire in any order you like. But when I did it, I realised the lack of some zest. So decided to add one more element and the best variant turned out to be a crocheted flower.

Щойно намистини готові, все, що залишається зробити - нанизати їх на ювелірний тросик. Але коли я це зробила, відчула, що не вистачає якоїсь родзинки. Тому вирішила додати ще один сплетений елемент і найкращим варіантом виявилась зв'язана гачком квітка.

The flower is made by this pattern from +Garnstudio DROPS Design with some modifications. Started with ch60 and in the row 2 added dc, trc, dtrc proportionally by turn to widen the "petals". 

To make a rose the remnants of mohair were used so the flower is very light and furry.

Квітку сплетено за цим зразком від +Garnstudio DROPS Design з деякими змінами. Розпочала з ланцюжка з 60 петель. У 2-му ряду додала стовпчики з одним, двома і трьома накидами пропорційно по черзі, щоб розширити "пелюстки".

На квітку пішли залишки мохеру, тому квітка вийшла дуже легка і пухнаста.

After the flower was ready, it was sewed to the upper bead. Sew in the circle around the bead, start with the widest part on the back of the bead. Finish on the front of the bead.

Після того як квітка була готова, пришила її до верхньої намистини. Пришиваємо по колу навкруг намистини. Починаємо з найширшої частини квітки по задній частині намистини, закінчуємо на передній частині.

The strung part of the necklace was joined to the pieces of lace. I knotted them to have a chance to change the necklace's length.

Нанизану частину намиста з'єднала з відрізками шнура. Я їх просто прив'язала, щоб у разі чого регулювати довжину намиста.

Donut Earrings, or As Sad As Bright

Autumn is the lest optimistic season... It is cold and damp outdoors and we are almost always in search of the warmth... I guess autumn's burst of colours is compensation for the unpleasant greyness of the sky and that's why in autumn we enjoy the sunny days so much and feel so dull when they are gloomy.
It is the right time to delve into my boxes and to look through their colourful stuff to make something overcoming autumn sadness...


Сережки "Пампушки", або Сумна і Яскрава Пора

Осінь - найменш оптимістична пора року... На вулиці холодно і сиро і ми майже весь час у пошуках тепла... Думаю, що осінній спалах кольорів - це така собі компенсація за неприємну сірість неба і тому восени ми так радіємо сонячним дням і почуваємося пригніченими, коли вони похмурі.
Саме час покопирсатися в моїх коробках і переглянути їх барвистий крам, щоб зробити щось, що подолало б осінній сум...

Last month I designed  nice beaded donut beads. They have really autumn look and match very well the necklace I made last year. I wore it pretty often then but I surely don't need one more item of the same colour style (only red things are allowed to be multiplied:-)) So  I unpicked the set and decided to make a new piece using all the materials.


Минулого місяця я вигадала гарні намистини "пампушки". Виглядають вони дуже по осінньому і дуже пасують до намиста, яке я зробила минулого року. Я його доволі часто вдягала, але мені вже напевно не потрібна ще одна прикраса в таких самих кольорах (лише червоним речам  дозволяється необмежено множитися :-)) Тож я розібрала набір і вирішила зробити щось нове уже з усіх матеріалів разом.

I was looking at these materials and looking and looking and had no ideas... As such a process had no perspective, I started with the earrings that at first had had no intention to make at all. It was a good step because the bead is the same on the both sides so matches to make earrings very well.




Дивилася я на ці матеріали дивилася і не мала жодної ідеї... А оскільки такий процес перспектив не має, то почала з виготовлення сережок, які взагалі не мала жодного наміру робити. Це було правильним кроком, тому що намистина однакова з обох боків і тому дуже підходить для виготовлення сережок.

Worked with two needles. Every needle goes from 10.0 (11.0) seed bead - a seed bead, a twin, a seed bead are between. Then I strung two green seed beads  and one orange on every needle, then a twin on the both needles then (separately) one orange, two green seed beads and then 6 x 4 mm rondelle and one green seed bead with both needles again. For a loop at first I strung four seed beads separately but it seemed to be too big so I chose 6 but 4 would be even better. Cross the threads and move with the needles to the opposite sides.




Працювала двома голками. Кожна голка виходить з бісерини 10.0 (11.0) - 1 бісерина, твін, 1 бісерина залишаються між ними. Потім нанизала по дві зелені бісерини і одну помаранчеву на кожну голку, потім твін на обидві голки, потім (знову окремо) помаранчеву і по дві зелених намистини. Потім на обидві голки рондель 6 х 4 мм і одну зелену бісерину. Для петлі спочатку нанизала по чотири бісерини на голку, але це виявилося забагато, тому вирішила нанизати по три, а ще краще було б по дві. Перехрещуємо нитки і рухаємося голками в протилежних напрямках.

Move through all the seed beads and twins around the donut and go from the other couple of the parallel seed beads. Now make all the same.



Проходимо через всі бісерини і твіни по коли "пампушки" і виходимо з іншої, паралельної пари бісерин. Робимо все те саме.

Weave the ends of the threads and cut them. Add the hook and the earring is ready.
The result is pretty indeed. I hope to invent the necklace until the autumn ends and the mood doesn't change :-))





Ховаємо, закріплюємо  і обрізаємо кінці ниток. Додаємо гачок і сережка готова.
Виглядає справді гарно. Сподіваюсь закінчити і намисто поки осінь не пішла і настрій не змінився:-)

Cactus Hat:-)

I like cactuses... probably since the time when many years ago my brother said that if there were a flower in the world to be associated with me it was a cactus. It was not very pleasant to hear but then I remembered cactuses were the only flowers he had grown on the window-sill in his room being a teenager. And it let me think that to remind a cactus is not so bad generally:-)

Мені подобаються кактуси... мабуть з того часу, як мій брат багато років тому сказав, що якщо у світі і існує квітка, з якою мене можна асоціювати, то це - кактус. Не так вже і приємно було це почути, але потім я згадала, що кактуси були єдині квіти, які він вирощував на підвіконні у своїй кімнаті, коли був школярем. Тож я вирішила, що нагадувати кактус не так вже і погано:-)

A hat is one of the most conflicting item in a wardrobe. The main contradictions are: firstly, probably there is no woman, who had never said any hat (especially knitted or crocheted) suited her - on the other hand, something should be put on the head anyway not to be cold; secondly, if the hat is light and nice - it is cold for winter and it means either beauty and flu or warmth and discomfort must be chosen. I suppose somebody isn't cold indeed but I am. So as long as I knit and crochet as long I experiment if I get a good result. It seems to me this try is good enough although the hat reminds a cactus with shape:-)

Шапка - це один з найсуперечливіших предметів гардеробу. Головні протиріччя: по-перше, мабуть немає жінки, яка б не стверджувала, що шапки (особливо в'язані) їй не личать, а з іншого боку, все одно щось треба вдягати на голову, щоб не мерзнути; по-друге, якщо шапка гарна і легенька - в ній холодно взимку, тобто обираємо або красу і нежить, або тепло і незручність. Можливо хтось і справді не мерзне, а я - так. Тому скільки в'яжу, стільки і досліджую, чи вийде щось з чергового експерименту. З цієї спроби здається вийшло непогано, хоча шапка своєю формою і нагадує кактус:-)

The initial plan was to make this Ridged Hat that I saw on +Yarnspirations.  But after finishing the main work I refused from making a visor on the simple reason that it was late yesterdays to add it and I was going to put the hat on the next day in the morning. And when today came, I decided I like the hat the way it is enough:-) 

To make a hat Nako Sport Wool was chosen. The hat is crocheted with two threads, the hook 9 mm (M/N).

It is a quick project although to crochet two threads of bulky yarn with such a thick hook is not a pleasure indeed. And I actually believe the things made only with thin knitting needles and hooks can look elegant and smart but, remember!, the hat must be warm! So doubts aside, besides, the process is a good practice to crochet dcfp and dcbp.

Спочатку планувалося зв'язати цю Ridged Hat, яку я побачила на сайті  +Yarnspirations. Але по закінченні роботи над основною частиною, я відмовилася дов'язувати козирок з тієї простої причини, що вчора ввечері робити це вже було запізно, а я збиралася вранці вдягати шапку. А коли настало сьогодні, я вирішила, що шапка мені і так подобається:-) 

Для роботи було обрано пряжу Nako Sport Wool. Шапку сплетено в дві нитки гачком №9. 

Це швидкий проект хоча в'язання товстим гачком товстої пряжі в дві нитки не дуже велике задоволення. До того ж я переконана, що речі зв'язані лише тонкими спицями і гачками можуть виглядати елегантно і вишукано, але ж, пам'ятаємо!, шапка має бути теплою! Отже сумніви - геть, крім того, процес роботи - гарна практика відпрацювати рельєфні стовпчики (увігнуті та опуклі).

And the pattern seemed to be clear until the 4th row where it reads "1 dcfp around next dcfp 2 dcbp around next dcbp. 1 dcbp around next dcbp"  but you cannot follow this as in the previous row it was crocheted 1 dcfp, 1 dcbp alternately. Besides, without two dcpb the piece after the third row looks strangely domed (on the first photo). So in the 3d row I crocheted 1 dcfp, 2 dcbp and then go on after the instruction (the second row).

Я не можу перекладати тут інструкцію, щоб не порушити авторське право, але можу дати переклад загальних термінів плетіння гачком, які використовуються в англомовних інструкціях (тут американський варіант термінів, британський відрізняється):

sc - стовпчик без накиду;

dc - стовпчик з одним накидом;

sl st - напівстовпчик (з'єднувальний);

dcfp - рельєфний (опуклий) стовпчик;

dcbp - рельєфний (увігнутий) стовпчик.

And thus in the 6th row I already had 40 stitches. 

My 7th row became the 9th so I added no dsbp in my 8th and 9th rows. The 10th row is missed and but if anybody like me didn't pay attention to it, she understands it when starting decreasing in the 15th row where they say the crocheter has 6 dsbp instead of five which I had. After that the I unpicked four rows and crocheted the 10th row with increasing of dsbp. Then go on again to be able to decrease in the 15th row according to the instruction.

I also didn't change the number of the hook for the smaller for the last row otherwise the hat would fit tight.

I tried the hat on both on the right and wrong size and it looks well anyway but in the latter way it  mostly reminds a pumpkin:-)

Шапку можна носити і на лицеву і на виворітну сторону, я приміряла, виглядає гарно тільки  в другому випадку вже більше нагадує гарбуз:-) 

Raglan Pullover, or Still Life in Berry Colours:-)

On the cover of the magazine with my pattern it reads "Time to knit" but I'd rather say it is time to wear all what has been knitted or crocheted:-) As long as I knit and crochet, I plan making warm things in summer and light things in winter and as long as I plan it, I never succeed:-) Cold weather is the only best motivation to add a couple of warm and cosy items to wardrobe and despite knitting some sweater takes much more time than sewing a dress, yet I prefer training my fingers with knitting needles at this time of year. Right now I am not such a crazy knitter as I used to be and my Ravelry page updates not so often...(I'd rather say very rarely lately)... but anyway I like to knit and  follow willingly the inspiration from weather and yarn.

Пуловер реглан, або Натюрморт в ягідних кольорах

На обкладинці журналу, в якому я знайшла мою модель, сказано, що зараз час в'язати (чи то плести) гачком і на спицях, але я б краще сказала, що зараз вже час вдягати все, що нав'язано:-) Скільки я в'яжу, стільки і планую робити теплі речі влітку, а легкі - взимку. І скільки я це планую, стільки мені це ніколи і не вдається:-) Холодна погода - це єдиний найкращий мотиватор додати двійко-трійко теплих і затишних речей до гардеробу і, хоча плетіння якогось светра займає набагато більше часу ніж пошиття сукні, все ж таки я надаю перевагу тренуванням пальців зі спицями о  цій порі. Зараз я вже не така божевільна в'язальниця, якою була декілька років тому і моя сторінка на Ravelry не так вже і часто оновлюється...(я б навіть зазначила, що останнім часом дуже рідко)..., проте я люблю в'язати і охоче слідую за натхненням від природи та пряжі.

The pullover, pattern #28 from Verena 4/2013, was cast on last October and finished only today. It doesn't mean I knitted one row every day (I guess if I did, the result would be quicker:-))... it just means I worked on it  only a couple of last  weeks. It is the second sweater from the issue. The first one, pattern #38, was made two years ago.


Петлі на пуловер, модель 28 з Verena 4/2013 були набрані ще минулого жовтня, а закінчено роботу лише сьогодні. Це не означає, що я в'язала рядок щодня (якби так було, то результат був би отриманий скоріше:-))... це лише означає, що я працювала над светром останні пару тижнів. Це другий пуловер з цього числа журналу. Перший, модель 38, я зв'язала ще два роки тому.

The used yarn is YarnArt Magic Fine which I liked a lot because of the colour style and texture. I decided to use needles number 2 to have the pullover denser and warmer. But as the yarn was bought on sale, where they had only 4 skeins of it, I couldn't match the stripes as I once was so lucky to do in this jacket. I don't care indeed because the free change of the colourful blocks is pretty useful for this sweater.




Сплетено з пряжі YarnArt Magic Fine, яка мені дуже подобається через кольорову гаму і текстуру. Я вирішила в'язати спицями №2, щоб пуловер був щільнішим і теплішим. Але оскільки я купила пряжу на розпродажі, де було всього 4 мотки, у мене не було можливості підібрати смужки так, як мені колись вдалося в цьому жакеті. Я цим не переймаюся, бо даному светрові вільне розташування кольорових блоків лише на користь.

This is a plain raglan pullover and in the magazine it has one feature - the asymmetric front hem v-cut. I omitted it as soon as imagined how annoying it would be when, knitted in stockinette stitch, it would be rolling despite all the blocking. Besides, I think instead of first few rows of purl, it would be better to make few rows of garter stitch.



Це простий пуловер реглан, який в журналі має одну особливість - асиметричний розріз у вигляді "V" по низу передньої частини. Я вирішила його не робити щойно уявила, як мені дошкулятиме його постійне скручування незважаючи на всі відпарювання, оскільки пуловер плететься панчішним візерунком. Крім того, думаю замість декількох перших виворітних рядів, краще зробити декілька рядків платочною в'язкою.

I knitted the pullover by the instruction for the size 36-38 but it matched the size 40-42 knitted with this yarn on the knitting needles 2. The yarn is pretty thick for these needles but I made what I wanted.




Я слідувала інструкції для плетіння пуловера розміру 36/38, але вона підійшла для розміру 40-42, якщо в'язати з цієї пряжі спицями 2. Пряжа для таких спиць доволі товста, але я зробила, що схотіла.

I try to knit all the symmetric details at the same time. It lets me make the same mistakes so the chance my details are identical increases a lot. Besides, if the break between the start and the finishing of knitting is pretty long, I always have the details made at the same step.



Всі симетричні деталі я намагаюся робити водночас. Це мені дозволяє робити однакові помилки і таким чином зростають шанси на те, що мої деталі будуть однаковими. До того ж, якщо перерва між початком і закінченням роботи досить велика, робота над деталями зупиняється на одному і тому ж рівні.

The best way to bind off ribs, as for me, is with a hook. Once I came across a video with that technique on Youtube and since then almost always use it.




Закривати петлі резинки, як на мене, найкраще гачком. Якось я побачила на Youtube відео з цією технікою і з того часу майже завжди нею користуюся.

Nice accessories for the sweater are this brooch and the earrings.
If to judge by the process of photographing, the sweater is warm indeed but it is not warm enough to wear it only when it  is 7 degrees above zero here :-) But I hope my positive emotions from the work yet will save me from catching a cold.

Гарні доповнення до пуловера - ця брошка і ці сережки.
Якщо судити за процесом фотографування, светр і справді теплий, але не настільки, щоб носити лише його, коли на вулиці +7:-) Тож сподіваюся мої позитивні емоції від цієї роботи все ж таки врятують мене від застуди.

Chrysanthemum Brooch

I like chrysanthemums very much... Their refined and durable beauty, their resistance to any bad weather, their aroma, which is so tart and mature as if it absorbed  the scents of all the seasons together in itself - all mixed and combined very harmonically. And it is quite hard to say "good bye" to their beauty because after their fading the hope for warm and sunny days disappears. So not to be put into the depression either literally or figuratively by this time of year, let's try to prolong chrtsanthemums' bloom:-)

Брошка "Хризантема"

Дуже люблю хризантеми... Їхня вишукана і стійка краса, протидія будь який негоді, їхній аромат - такий терпкий і зрілий, наче увібрав у себе всі пахощі року одразу - все поєднується так гармонійно. Квіти, з красою яких не хочеться прощатися, бо щойно зів'януть - зникне і надія на теплі і сонячні дні. І так доречно, що їхня пора наступає саме зараз. Тож, щоб цей час не заганяв в депресію ані буквально, ані  фігурально, спробуємо подовжити цвітіння хризантем.

The project was enjoyable both with the result and process because started from the simple idea to use Preciosa Solo, or Super Uno beads as for the centre of the ring as I saw in this tutorial. But surprisingly it was finished with creating of my own brooch and ring, that needed no Solo at all :-)
So, to start my beading improvisation I gathered all the purple materials I have.


Проект порадував і результатом і процесом, тому що розпочався з простої ідеї використати Preciosa Solo (або Super Uno) як для серединки каблучки в цьому МК. Але, і це мене завжди дивує, закінчився створенням власної брошки і каблучки, в якому ті  Solo і не знадобилися:-)
Отже, щоб розпочати мою імпровізацію з намистинам, спочатку зібрала всі фіолетові матеріали, які в мене є.

The ring in the mentioned tutorial has petals from beads. I had nothing in common in my stash so just decided to bead the petals from different seed beads. One more pleasant surprise with the project - I used only stashed materials and bought nothing new for it (it is a wow moment indeed:-))
The first step required 8/0 and triangles. To make the petals I chose herringbone technique, started the beading right from the brooch base.



Каблучка у вище згаданому МК має пелюстки з намистин. У мене нічого схожого не було, тому я вирішила просто сплести пелюстки з бісеру. Ще один приємний сюрприз проекту - використала лише матеріали з запасів і нічого не докупала (це вже і справді сюрприз:-))
Перший етап задіяв бісер 8/0 та трикутний. Пелюстки сплетені технікою ндебеле, нанизувала прямо з основи для брошки.

After the first row of the petals was ready, finished them with 3 mm round crystals.



Після того, як перший ряд пелюсток був готовий, додала 3 мм кристали для оздоблення.

On this stage the flower was not very thick so I added one more row of the same petals but beaded them under the first row. On the photo all the row is from triangle seed beads but when it was ready, I changed my mind and re-made from the 8/0 and two green cut beads. Green - because it occurred to me it could be in use if I suddenly wanted to add some leaves to the flower later.

На цьому етапі квітка не була достатньо пишною, тому я додала ще один ряд пелюсток, але нанизувала їх під перший ряд. На фото цей ряд з трикутного бісеру, але коли він був готовий, я передумала і переробила його з основного бісеру 8/0 і двох бісерин зеленої рубки. Зеленої - тому що подумала, раптом мені згодом захочеться додати якесь листя до квітки, то початок вже є.

Next is inside row of the petals. It is started with triangle seed beads and continued with 8/0. It is beaded shorter and finished with arches form one 15/0 seed bead, one 10/0 seed bead and one 15/0.

Наступний - внутрішній ряд пелюсток. Він починається з трикутного бісеру, потім продовжений 8/0. Сплетений коротшим, закінчила його арками з трьох бісерин - 15/0, 10/0 і 15/0.

The last stage of the brooch beading - fill in the centre with solo (super uno). The way is free. I added both by one/two solos and with 10/0 seed beads underneath.

Останній етап нанизування - заповнення серединки квітки супер уно (соло). Спосіб вільний. Я додавала і по одній/дві намистині соло і з 10/0 під них.

To have the brooch ready glued the piece of thick fabric to the brooch base and then the pin.

Для повної готовності брошки наклеїла шматочок товстої тканини до основи і потім застібку.

The ring and the brooch created a nice, delicate (the brooch is only about 5 cm in diameter) and pretty universal set that matches a lot of outfits. The items can be worn separately as well and I think both of them will look good with these earrings.

So happy, long and beautiful chrysanthemum season to all of us:-)

Каблучка і брошка утворили гарний делікатний (брошка лише біля 5 см в діаметрі) і доволі універсальний набір, який пасуватиме до багатьох речей. Предмети можна носити і окремо і думаю обидва добро підійдуть до цих сережок.

Отже, щасливої, довгої і прекрасної усім нам пори цвітіння хризантем:-)

Day & Night Earrings

Day and night together is the embodiment of the contrast's attraction in its best. Day is open, light and clear. Night is for mysteries and hints. We ourselves are a pure representation of contrasts as well. Our inner and outer world. Our civil manners and secret desires. The things we willingly tell and never dare to say aloud. So I just couldn't resist the charm of the idea and got some fun while  thinking about the above mentioned stuff and making these earrings.

Сережки "День і Ніч"

День і ніч разом - це якнайкраще втілення привабливості контрасту. День відкритий, світлий і зрозумілий. Ніч - пора натяків і секретів. Ми самі по собі теж чистесенької води виображення контрасту. Наш внутрішній і зовнішній світ. Наше гарне виховання і таємні бажання. Речі, які ми охоче про себе розповідаємо і яких ніколи і не мислимо вимовити вголос. Тож я просто не могла опиратися чарівності цієї ідеї і трохи розважилась поки роздумувала над всім вище згаданим та плела ці сережки.

In fact, it is my first attempt of huichole beading and it is a simple sample indeed for those who can make it (and I'm still not the one!:-)). As I understand, it is a kind of flat round netting. I like this kind of stitch but up to now I've only experienced filled tubular netting in this necklace. And while I was beading the piece, Youtube found so many nice tutorials on the theme that I guessed I'd be trying it again.

Це, насправді, моя перша спроба плести уічольскою технікою і цей зразок досить простий для тих, хто вміє це робити (і я ще точно ні!:-)). Як я розумію, це певний вид сітчастого плетіння по колу, яке мені дуже подобається, але досі я пробувала робити лише сітчастий джгут з наповнювачем для цього намиста. А поки я працювала над сережками, Youtube виставив мені стільки гарних майстер класів по темі, що мабуть я продовжу спроби.

I don't know who is the the author of the earrings but I followed this tutorial from Рукоделие TV. The project is very cheerful and joyful and summer, of course. And I'm surely going to wear the earrings so to make them correspond my age better I chose more reserved yellow colours and changed black and red seed beads for brown and orange. 

Не знаю, хто автор сережок, але я дотримувалася цього майстер класу від Рукоделие TV. Виріб дуже життєрадісний, веселий і, звісно, літній. І я безумовно збираюся носити сережки, тому, щоб вони краще відповідали моєму вікові, обрала більш стриману жовту кольорову гаму, а чорний і червоний бісер замінила на коричневий і оранжевий.

Besides the technique itself, the very important, I'd rather say even more important part is to make the earrings flat. Only in this case they look really nice and wearable. My first attempt was not very good and my first earring was ruffled. I think as there are many used colours here, it is important to check the size of the seed beads which are not the same although of the same number.

Крім самої техніки, дуже важливо, я б навіть сказала ще важливіше, зробити сережки пласкими. Лише в цьому випадку вони гарно виглядатимуть і будуть придатними для носіння. Моя перша спроба була невдалою і перша сережка вийшла хвилястою. Думаю, оскільки тут використано багато кольорів, важливо контролювати розмір бісеру, який не весь однаковий, хоча і одного номеру.

So when making the second earring, I refused from adding the seed bead between those "rays" and just joined them. I also reinforced almost every round twice after finishing the beading. And thus got a quite good result if to forget that the first earring were remade two more times because during the second try one of seed beads in the last row broke as I pulled too many threads through it:-)

Тому, нанизуючи другу сережку, я вирішила не додавати бісерину між двома "променями", а просто їх з'єднала. До того ж я зміцнила майже кожне коло двічі по закінченні плетіння. І зрештою отримала непоганий результат, якщо забути, що першу сережку переробляла два рази, бо на другий спробі  через велику кількість простягнутих ниток в останньому колі зламалася бісерина:-)

Quick Crystal Earrings, or Berries, Berries... :-)

I keep two (or may be even more:-)) point of views to my hobbies and to the life itself and both of them coexist peacefully in  my consciousness. The essence of the first is well expressed by the words of a song from one of very famous films here. Almost exact quote sounds in this way: "What follows from that? - It means you should live! And sew light dresses from light fabrics. - Do you believe all that will be in use? - I believe it should be sewed!"

I don't know if the author meant the very idea what I see in these words. But I am sure it is worth doing what we are able to even if it doesn't seem to be useful right now; time is passing anyway and it is impossible to predict what happens tomorrow so it is better not to postpone doing the things we want to do for later if we want to do them now.

The other point of view concerns my mostly practical attitude to my hobbies. I mean I prefer creating things not only because of enjoying the process itself but with the purpose to use them. And, the best part, I like the fact that I see no contradiction between these two beliefs... The compromise of the opinions favours the inner piece:-)

Швидкі сережки з кристалів, або Ягоди та ягідки...:-)

Я сповідую дві (а може і більше:-)) філософії, які  мирно співіснують у моєму ставленні до захоплень та і до життя взагалі. Сутність першої з них зводиться до цитати з вірша Ю. Левітанського "Діалог у новорічної ялинки" (відомий нам як пісня з "Москва сльозам не вірить"): 

- Что же из этого следует? - Следует жить! Шить сарафаны и легкие платья из ситца. 

- Вы полагаете, всё это будет носиться? - Я полагаю, что всё это следует шить! 

Може автор і не мав на увазі того, що ця цитата означає для мене, але я переконана, що варто робити те, що можеш і вмієш, навіть якщо в цей певний момент ти і не бачиш особливої користі з твоїх дій; час спливає і що чекає на нас завтра неможливо передбачити, отже не відкладай на потім те, що хочеш зробити зараз.

А ось друга ідея полягає в тому, що я намагаюсь практично ставитися до своїх захоплень, тобто робити робити речі не лише заради цікавості і втіхи, а і заради того, щоб ними користуватися. І більш за все мені подобається, що я не бачу жодних протиріч між цими двома поглядами... Тобто, компроміс думок сприяє досягненню внутрішнього спокою:-))

Yesterday was a very nice day here and after a walk I wanted to make something quick simple but reflecting the joy of  autumn. And it is the time for that! 

I chose the project from  + Chiara Gandini. I made the bigger diamond by her video but added one more CRAW element that made the earrings more individual and more suiting me. As it is well seen in the photo, the element had first version which was overloaded with golden seed beads so was improved to the second one. And today in the morning I thought it would be good to add 3 mm bicon or round instead of the central 8/0 seed bead in the smaller diamond. May be I will remake the earrings again... although hardly...

Вчора тут був чудовий день  і після прогулянки мені захотілося зробити щось швидке і просте, але при цьому, щоб відображало радість осені. Та вже і час для цього! 

Обрала проект від + Chiara Gandini. Великий ромб я зробила за її відео, але додала ще один елемент в техніці CRAW (здається, у нас вона називається монастирська), це зробило сережки більш індивідуальними і так вони мені більш личитимуть. Як добре видно  на фото, елемент мав першу версію, яка була надто перевантажена золотистим бісером, тому була покращена на другу. А сьогодні вранці я вже подумала, що замість центральної бісерини 8/0 можна було б додати біконус, або круглу намистину 3 мм  в меншому ромбі. Може я і перероблю сережки знову... хоча навряд...

To add the smaller diamond you need to go from seed bead before the bigger rondelle. String five seed beads (10/0 or 11/0), then 1 SB, 1 4x6 rondelle (four times). Lock into the ring.

Щоб додати менший ромб, треба вийти з бісерини перед більшим ронделем. Нанизати п'ять бісерин (10/0 або 11/0), потім одну бісерину, один  рондель 4х6 (чотири рази). Замкнути в кільце. 

Then go from the seed bead before the rondelle and string five more seed beads. Pull you needle through the bigger rondelle and the five seed beads strung in the previous step. 

Виходимо з бісерини перед ронделем і нанизуємо ще п'ять бісерин. Протягуємо голку через великий рондель і п'ять бісерин набраних на попередньому етапі.

Then go from the seed bead before the top rondelle and string two 10/0 (11/0), one 8/0, two 10/0 (11/0). Pass through the rondelle and go from it, string two 10/0 (11/0), go through the 8/0 of the previous row and string two more 10/0 (11/0). Go through the nearest rondelle by the clock hand and the following seed bead. Make the loop for the hook. I made it in my own way but you can follow the instruction in the video.

Потім виходимо з бісерини перед верхнім ронделем і нанизуємо дві бісерини 10/0, одну 8/0 і дві 10/0. Проходимо через рондель і нанизуємо дві 10/0, потім проходимо через 8/0 попереднього ряду і нанизуємо ще дві 10/0. Проходимо через найближчий рондель за годинниковою стрілкою і наступну бісерину. Тепер можна робити петлю для гачка. Я зробила її за власним смаком, але можна зробити як  у відео.

As for the practical aspect of using of the earrings I am going to wear them with this sweater #28 from Verena 4/2013 which I started last year and now ше looks like this on the photo right now but some day it will look pretty decent and nice, I am sure:-)

Щодо практичної сторони використання сережок, я збираюся носити їх з оцим светром #28 from Verena 4/2013, який я набрала на спиці минулого року і який наразі виглядає ось так як на фото, але одного дня виглядатиме доволі пристойно. Я впевнена :-)
