Relaxed Belted Boucle Coat

 

Generally, I like sewing coats despite the fabrics used for that are not those easy to work with. Besides, how many coats does a person need? Actually, as many as you want but as for me, I always have one winter coat and one demi-season. I've also got a cape for warm autumn days: it's an old one with an unsolved mystery why I wear it only in autumn even as there're a lot of pleasant sunny chilly days in spring, but it is as it is. A short demi-season coat is to wear when the weather lets do it through the entire cold season, and a kind of a raincoat which doesn't protect me from rain unless an umbrella is open above my head :-) 

This new item is a kind of demi-season as it's made without warmer only lined with viscose. The fabric is heavy and dense, and looks especially bright on the grey and overcast background of our winter days. I bought it having on my mind the idea of sewing a kind of relaxed belted overgarment, and, after looking through plenty of patterns, chose PDF Burda #6704. The features appealed to me and caused the decision in its favour are the side seams shifted to the front, shawl collar, and moderate loose silhouette with not a deep wrap. A good accessory to match the coat became the hat from the previous post.

Пальто із букле вільного крою з паском

Взагалі, я люблю шити пальта хоча тканини, з яких вони шиються не назвеш простими в обробці. Та і зрештою, скільки людині потрібно пальт? Насправді, стільки, скільки хочеш; щодо мене, у мене завжди є одне зимове пальто і одне демісезонне. Також маю накидку для теплих осінніх днів - їй вже багато років, але я для мене досі загадка, чому я одягаю її лише восени, адже навесні теж багато приємних сонячних прохолодних днів, але так вже склалося. Коротке демісезонне пальто одягається протягом всіх холодних пор року, якщо погода дозволяє це робити, і такий собі плащ, який захищає від дощу лише, коли над головою розкрита парасолька :-) 

Це нове, теж демісезонне, тому що пошите без утеплювача, лише на віскозній підкладці. Тканина важка і щільна, і особливо яскраво виглядає на фоні наших сірих похмурих зимових днів. Купила її маючи на увазі пошиття саме такого верхнього одягу вільного крою з паском, і, переглянувши купу моделей, обрала цю PDF Burda #6704. Деталі, які мене привабили і зупинили відбір на користь саме цієї викрійки: пересунуті наперед бокові шви, комір шалькою і помірний вільний силует з неглибоким запахом. Гарним доповненням до пальта став мій капелюх з попереднього допису.

Besides adding the lining, I also reinforced the coat along the shoulder, front, armhole, and pocket edges, and the facing. Not let the front edge become open while wearing the coat, the front edge is also reinforced with interfacing ribbon. 

The sewing took 3m x 140 cm  of the fabric. The length of the coat is 120 cm.

Крім додавання підкладки, також зміцнила плечові, краї рукавів, переду, кишень та підборти. Щоб краї пілочок не відкривалися поки пальто носиться, їхні краї додатково зміцнені клейовою стрічкою. 

На пошив пішло 3м х 140 см тканини при довжині пальта 120 см.

As the fabric is very thick and dense, to make the front edges thinner the seam of joining the facing must be pressed open. Actually, it's always must be done when sewing coats or jackets but who cares if the fabric is not of so rough texture. 

Оскільки тканина товста і щільна, щоб краї бортів були тоншими, шов з'єднання з підбортом треба розпрасувати. Назагал, для пальто і жакетів так завжди треба робити, але кого це хвилює, коли тканина не такої грубої текстури.

Joining the seams of the upper collar and under collar. I made it with hands as my sewing machine had no chance to stitch the seams together (by the way, I always make it with hands :-)). 

З`єднання швів верхнього і нижнього комірів. Я це робила вручну, тому що моя швейна машинка не має жодного шансу прострочити їх разом (крім того, я завжди це роблю вручну :-))

How to line the coat, I told several times in the posts devoted to sewing coats and jackets so I don't want to repeat it. 

The fastening is not supposed to be here but I yet sewed two snaps to keep the fronts on the spot. 

Як пришивати підкладку, вже розповідала декілька разів в дописах про пошиття пальт і жакетів, тож повторюватися не хочу. 

Застібка по моделі не передбачається, але я все ж таки пришила дві кнопки, щоб тримали пілочки на місці.

Stephania Boucle Hat

 

It is a well known shape of the hat but one day after Kalush Orchestra won Eurovision, on some  Spanish speaking needlecrafts channel I saw the video telling about how either to crochet or sew the hat being worn by the front man and they called it "Stephania" by the name of their song. I liked the idea, it made me smile and I decided if I ever made alike hat, it would be a nice name for it. The pattern #125 was taken from Burda Special Lyubly Shyty (I Love Sewing, Ukrainan edition by BurdaNordic License) 3/2019. It was a quick work to create an accessory to pair my new coat. Despite I lined the item with heating fabric, the ears are not protected so the hat is not enough warm for me to wear when the temperature is around or below zero outdoors.  But I do love what I get both how it looks and feels :-)

 

 Капелюх з букле "Стефанія"

Це добре відома форма капелюха, але після того як Kalush Orchestra виграли Євробачення, на якомусь іспаномовному ютуб каналі  я побачила відео як чи то пошити, чи сплести гачком капелюх, який носить їхній соліст, і дівчата назвали його "стефанія". Мені та ідея сподобалося, вона викликала посмішку, тож я вирішила, як шитиму колись таку шапку, то теж її так назву. Модель 125  взяла з "Burda Special. Люблю шити" 3/2019. Це була швидка робота по створенню доповнення до мого нового пальта. Хоча я утеплила шапку слімтексом, вуха залишаються не захищені, тож для мене шапка не достатньо  тепла, щоб носити її коли на вулиці температура біля чи нижче нуля. Але насправді мені подобається, що у мене вийшло: і як капелюх виглядає і як я в ньому почуваюся :-)

Besides, anyway "stephania" sounds much better than "bucket" what is a real name of this design :-)

Крім того, в будь якому випадку, "стефанія" звучить набагато краще ніж "відро", яке і є справжньою назвою капелюху такого крою :-)

Border Print Top

I am glad I have two more ready things from summer to share here as it always happens that I mostly have either no or a little chance to sew in autumn. This year the situation is worse, I already have four cut projects on my table what is absolutely impossible for me. Even if I ever have the one postponed, it suppresses my will to come back to the sewing during months. If it goes this way further, I am afraid to pile up the cut projects instead of sewing them,  can become my new hobby along with collecting patterns and fabrics. 

My brightest impression this year are from Cherkashchina and most summer projects were made inspired by my trips around it. This one here is a top made, as we say here, "by a quick hand". The piece of the fabric was bought specially to make a top matching these trousers. I just wanted to make something weightless defined by hot and damp weather. It was a perfect idea as, while wandering about Chygyryn I, in fact, forgot what I was wearing and could focus on the scenery entirely. And, trust me, there is a lot what to see there!

Пощастило, що з літа у мене залишилося пару пошитих речей, про які варто тут розповідати, оскільки, як правило, восени у мене переважно немає часу шити. Цього року ситуація з цим погіршилася, бо у мене на столі лежать чотири покроєних речі, а це для мене не те що незвично - це неможливо: якщо я колись і відкладаю якійсь проект, то потім це подавляє мою волю до шиття на місяці. Тож, якщо так і далі піде, то, боюся,  що накопичування покроєних речей перетвориться на ще одне захоплення разом з колекціонуванням тканин та викрійок. 

Мої найяскравіші враження цього літа з Черкащини і більшість проектів натхненні саме моїми мандрівками по цьому регіонові. Тут йдеться про топ пошитий, як то кажуть, нашвидкуруч. Відріз тканини був куплений спеціально для  пошиття топу до цих штанів. Я просто хотіла зробити щось невагоме для прогулянок у вогку спекотну погоду. Це була прекрасна ідея, оскільки поки бродили Чигирином, я забула, у що була одягнена і цілком зосередилася на тому, що бачила навколо, а подивитися там, повірте, є на що!

Initially, my idea was to use pattern #6325 but when arranging it on the fabric, it's got clear it wasn't enough so I cannot say I use any pattern in full; the neck hole was widened and that's all. Having tried the top on, I saw that its shapelessness baggy look needs the fold on the shoulder to make the top look much better. 

Одразу мала намір використати викрійку 6325, але розкладаючи деталі, стало очевидно, що викрійку як слід розкласти не вдасться, тож не можу сказати, що використала хоч якусь; виріз горловини був розширений - оце і все. Примірявши топ, побачила, що його мішкуватий безформний вигляд потребує складки на плечі для більш пропорційного вигляду.

Pink Flared Trousers

The other days Facebook reminded me about five-years ago travelling to Baturyn. At once I thought that this year trips around Cherkashchyna sound in my memories as a sequel of that unforgettable journey. Because if the first route Talne-Legedzyne-Uman-Zhashkov-Butskyi Grad was  mostly cultural and relaxing, the second one, Suboiv-Chygyryn-Kholodnyi Yar-the Heart of Ukraine-Valley of Flowers happened to become  more spiritual and patriotic. And, despite the flaws of our touristic infrastructure, I do consider this latter one the logical continuation of that Baturin's, at least I felt so while visiting the mentioned above meaningful for our history sights. The days were hot and had to combine the comfort and restfulness to move around in warm and damp weather. The first idea occurred to me was to sew new trousers in frivolous actual but not provocative pink colour. I chose the model #110 from Burda 4/2023. They seemed to match well the textured cotton stretch reminding denim. The pair the trousers I found a couple of blouses in my wardrobe. One of them, made of merry poplin with colourful umbrellas by pattern #106 from Burda 3/2009, many years was among my favourites and waited that particular moment to be worn again:-)

Рожеві штани-кльош

Днями фейсбук видав мені спогади п'ятирічної давнини, а саме: нагадування про поїздку до Батурина. Я одразу ж подумала, що цьогорічні літні відвідування Черкащини звучать у спогадах як сиквел тієї незабутньої мандрівки. Адже, якщо перший маршрут Тальне-Легедзине-Умань-Жашков-Буцький Град був переважно культурно-розслаблюючий, то другий, Суботів-Чигирин-Холодний Яр-Серце України-Долина Квітів, склався більшою мірою духовно-патріотичним і, незважаючи на негаразди нашої туристичної інфраструктури, за відчуттями  саме і сприймався мною продовженням подорожі до Батурина. Дні були жаркі і треба було поєднати зручність та комфорт для переміщень в спекотну вологу погоду. Перше, про що я подумала, це пошити в дорогу нові штанці, легковажного актуального, але не такого щоб око виривало рожевого кольору. Обрала модель кльош #110 з Burda 4/2023. Подумалося, що вони добре виглядатимуть з фактурної бавовни стреч, дуже схожої на денім. До штанців в гардеробі знайшлися пару блузок для комбінування. Одна з них, з веселого барвистого попліну в парасольки, дуже давня, але одна з найулюбленіших, #106 з Burda 3/2009, чекала саме на той особливий момент, щоб її знову одягнули:-)

The model is simple and quick to make thanking to the zipper in the side seam. One more of its advantages is the anatomically proper designed waist line. It's clear from the phot that the back waist line is higher than the front's, however, the ready the trousers fit gorgeously.

Модель проста і швидка в пошитті завдяки застібці в боковому шві, до її переваг також належить анатомічно правильна побудова лінії талії: на фото добре видно, що в крої лінія талії спинки помітно вища ніж передньої частини, проте, готові штани мають гарну посадку. 

Morning on Crete

 

The story of the earrings has nothing in common with Crete, actually. I just read that the author had been inspired by the used beads' names which made her think about Greece. Then I thought, "Oh, yeah, I also used to travel there and have a couple of photos from the hotel and looking at them I can see something Greek in the earrings, too" :-) But the real story is different. Some years ago I lost one of the earrings made to complete one of my favourite dresses. I loved that garment and wore it quite a lot so decided to make a different pair of earrings to match the dress. The pattern by Debora Hodoyer from Bead & Jewellery Issue 80 was chosen and the specific beads, arcos and minos were bought. But I postponed work several times until the dress got small and I cannot wear it anymore thus the only thing I am able to do is to recall the happy moments on Crete. I even think the latter is much better because the new dress can be made again but to relive those moments one more time is impossible.

Ранок на Криті 

Історія сережок, насправді, не має нічого спільного з Критом. Я лише прочитала, що авторку надихнули назви намистин які зародили в ній думки про Грецію і я подумала: "ОК, я там теж колись подорожувала і у мене є пара фоток з готелю і роздивляючись їх, я теж можу побачити в сережках щось таке грецьке" :-) Але справжня історія геть інша. Декілька років тому я загубила одну з сережок створених доповнити одну з моїх найулюбленіших суконь. Мені те вбрання дуже подобалося і носилося воно доволі активно, тож я вирішила сплести нову пару прикрас до сукні. Обрала зразок від Debora Hodoyer з Bead & Jewellery Issue 80 і закупила особливі намистини аркос і мінос. Але роботу все відкладала і відкладала, а тепер сукня на мене стала замала тож, дивлячись на сережки, тільки і залишається як згадувати про щасливі дні на Криті, а це може і на краще, бо сукню можна і нову пошити, а ось повторити ті миті - вже ні.

Tavria Asymmetrical Buttoned Skirt

 

I intended to make a type of a skirt like this model #117 from Burda 7/2023 quite long and even was thinking about self-drafting because it is not quantum physics at all but while I was meditating on that, Burda provided me with the desirable pattern and it pushed the process a lot :-) For the sewing I chose either denim or 100% cotton twill with very ornate whimsical print in blue hues and called the skirt Tavria as traditional Tavriysky painting inspired me to choose this special fabric, and to visit our famous Mykolaiv Zoo for the sake of what the skirt was created. Our zoo is considered to be the best in Ukraine,  at least it's said so here, and whoever is asked where a tourist can go in our city, the zoo will be number 1 in the list. Number 2 was swimming-pool Vodoley but it was destroyed during the shelling and if it is ever restored, nobody knows. The zoo suffered a lot, too. It takes no time to come across the traces from the rockets and cassette missiles hits. The animals survived and the zoo, finally, was opened thanking to the help of very many people from around the world. I must admit I hadn't been there for a long time. In my childhood I remember to be sorry about the beasts, who seemed not to feel comfortable in their enclosures. But now I and my friend were excited indeed. Two 50+ ladies were wondering around the area about three hours and had no moment of boredom! Our zoo is really worthy both its fame and attention, and the people working there deserve honour and grace. So what with Tavriysky painting? The point is I wanted to visit the zoo as soon as saw they had organized a kind of a tiny skansen, a typical south backyard inhabited with domestic animals, with  a hut painted with plenty of blue colours, and the equipment of a hardworking  farmer. And Tavriysky painting itself became the visit card of Mykolaiv region. That's the inspiration :-)

Спідниця з асиметричною застібкою "Таврія" 

Давно хотіла пошити таку спідницю, подібну до моделі 117 з Burda 7/2023, навіть думала самій змоделювати, бо це ж зовсім нескладно, але поки думала, Burda вже забезпечила викрійкою і це дуже прискорило процес :-) Для пошиття я обрала чи то джинс чи то саржу з дуже вітіюватим складним візерунком в блакитних тонах і назвала цю модель "Таврія", бо саме Tаврійський розпис надихнув на вибір тканини, а ще на відвідування нашого знаменитого зоопарку для чого я цю спідницю і пошила. Зоопарк наш вважається найкращим в Україні, принаймні, у нас так кажуть, і кого б ви не запитали куди б туристу податися в Миколаєві, зоопарк буде на першому місці, на другому раніше був басейн "Водолій", але він був зруйнований під час обстрілів, і чи його відновлять - невідомо. Зоопарк теж постраждав, сліди від касетних  снарядів та ракет довго шукати не доведеться. Звірі вижили і зоопарк зрештою відкрився завдяки допомозі багатьох людей з різних країн. Маю зізнатися, я давно вже там не була. З дитинства запам'яталося, що звірів було шкода, здавалося, що їм там затісно і незручно. Але зараз ми з подругою були в захваті. Дві пані 50+ проблукали по парку майже три години і ні на мить не знудилися. Вартий такі наш зоопарк своєї слави та уваги, а люди, які там працюють, шани та вдячності. До чого ж тут Таврійський розпис? Так мені ж саме і захотілося піти до зоопарку як побачила, що вони організували крихітний скансен: типове південне подвір'я з хатиною розписаною в синьо-блакитних відтінках, з домашніми тваринками та домашнім приладдям працьовитого господаря. А сам Таврійський розпис тепер вважають візитівкою Миколаївщини. Отаке буває натхнення :-)

There is not much to tell about the sewing as it took just a few hours to make. But there's the thing I can't explain, when the skirt is spread out flat on the table, it's clear that all the details are even and has the same length and width but when I am wearing it, the beneath front part is seen a little as if it is longer than the upper part. I sewed a snap in the middle but it didn't help. I saw that only on the photos so have no will to unpick the work and change something but nevertheless. 

Instead the skirt turned out to pair  well with plenty of blouses in my wardrobe what could be a real fun to play. E.g. with old blouse #120 from Burda 3/2001, or Blue Roses linen one, and Lvivsky Square earrings, or Pink Lake tunic. 

Немає особливо що розповідати про пошиття, бо на нього пішло декілька годин. Втім, є дещо, чого я не можу пояснити. Коли спідниця лежить розкладена на столі, видно, що всі деталі рівні по довжині та ширині, а коли я її одягаю, нижня частина переду трохи виглядає з під верхньої наче вона довша. Я це побачила лише на фото, тож не маю волі пороти роботу і щось змінювати, проте що є, то є. Натомість, виявилося, що спідниця добре поєднується з багатьма блузками в моєму гардеробі, що може бути гарною розвагою, як немає чого робити. Скажімо, зі старою блузкою  #120 from Burda 3/2001, чи лляною "Блакитні Троянди", та сережками "Львівський квадрат"  чи тунікою "Рожеве озеро".

Fan Flower Earrings

I was curious enough to search for the designer's name of the earrings and it turned out to be a real plant, a cute flower with rich blossoming so I decided not to invent anything on my own and leave the name as it is, despite, if to be absolutely honest they remind me some sea creatures but that's the question of perception. The earrings were made by Penny Dixon's pattern from Beadwork Favorite Stitches 2016. It is my second project with dagger seed beads but the previous one, Smile for Van Gogh earrings, was with one-hole beads and this one is with two-holes daggers. I liked these earrings but wasn't obsessed with them and the daggers were used to be bought for a different project, one of my complete fails by the way, so I thought it was a good time to make a new piece of jewelry as I hadn't made any bead weaving for quite long. And here it is, unique and gorgeous :-) 

Сережки "Квітка-віяло" 

Мені вистачило допитливості пошукати в інтернеті, що означає назва, яку дизайнер дала сережкам. Виявилося, що це справжня рослина, мила квіточка з багатим цвітінням, тож вирішила нічого свого не вигадувати і залишити оригінальну назву, хоча направду, вони мені якихось морських істот нагадують, але то таке: кому що і після чого ввижається. Сережки сплетені за моделлю від Penny Dixon з Beadwork Favorite Stitches 2016. Це мій другий виріб з намистинами-дегерами (daggers, кінджали), але попередній, сережки "Посмішка для Ван Гога", були з намистинами з однім отвором, а ці з двома. Мені ці сережки подобалися, але не до лихоманки, і дегери купувала колись для зовсім іншого проекту, одного з моїх повних провалів, до речі, тож подумала, що вже час створити якусь прикрасу, бо досить давно нічого не плела. Ну і ось вони, унікальні і прекрасні :-) 

I didn't have all the exact materials mentioned in the magazine thus changed a pear-shaped drop for an ellipse crystal. For an unknown reason, my first earring had a central dagger stuck out, so I made the second one changing the colour style of 15.0 seed beads and drops. I don't realize what happened but the second earring was flawless then I ripped the first one and made it again. 

У мене не було всіх матеріалів як в журналі, тож я замінила грушовидну краплю на кристал еліпс. З невідомої причини центральний дегер моєї першої сережки став сторчма тож я зробила другу сережку змінивши колір бісеру 15.0 і маленьких магатам. Не усвідомлюю, що  трапилося, але друга сережка вийшла без дефектів. І потім я розпорола першу і переробила її. 

Mavka Raglan Boho Dress, or Cherkashchyna Sketches lll

To visit Cherkasy region without wandering about Sofiivka Arboretum is unavoidable. The park is considered to be beautiful all around the year and I was there a few times before but always in autumn.  Thus this year it was my first summer trip to the sight. The dress I made  on that occasion fitted with its design and fabric pattern into the landscape so well that we hardly could find a kind of the contrast location to take pictures of it to display the garment in its best :-) That's why I called the dress Mavka as I felt myself  a part of the park in it :-) 

For the piece of linen and viscose blend 2.20 x 145 cm I chose Burda PDF pattern #6222B, this modification has long sleeves. I must admit they are the perfect match indeed. I bought the fabric aimlessly just because it was on sale and I liked it a lot. Thus quick sewing and gorgeous outcome lived up to my expectations in full and even more. 

The necklace Summer Day matches it well.

Сукня бохо з рукавом реглан "Мавка", або Замальовки з Черкащини lll

Подорожувати Черкащиною та не поблукати Софіївкою майже неможливо. Вважається, що парк прекрасний будь якої пори року і я вже була там декілька разів, але завжди восени. Тож  цього разу мене вперше занесло туди влітку. Сукня яку я пошила з цієї нагоди так природно вписалася в пейзаж своїм кроєм та візерунком тканини, що нам так і не вдалося знайти якусь контрастну локацію для фотосесії, щоб продемонструвати вбрання якнайкраще :-) Саме тому і назвала сукню "Мавкою", адже я в ній почувалася частиною парку :-) 

До відрізу 2,20 х 145 см віскози з льоном я підібрала модель 6222B PDF Burda, ця модифікація має довгі рукави. Маю відмітити, що це ідеальна пара. Тканину купувала без певної мети, лише тому що вона була на знижках та дуже мені сподобалася. Тож швидке пошиття з чудовим результатом більше ніж просто виправдав мої сподівання. 

До сукні добре пасує намисто "Літній день".

I am quite indifferent to the pockets on the dresses but this time made them as wanted to use all the fabric. I should say that the pockets are marked for modification A which has drop waist so for variant B the pockets are too low to use them comfortably. As it became clear after the dress was ready, I changed nothing. 

Мені доволі байдуже до кишень на сукнях, але тут я їх зробила, щоб використати всю тканину. Маю відмітити, що кишені розмічені для сукні А, оскільки вона має суттєвий напуск по талії, тож для моєї сукні кишені розташовані дуже низько, щоб ними можна було зручно користуватися. Це стало зрозуміло лише коли сукня була готова, тож я нічого вже не міняла.

The sleeves have effective slits which let the dress be worn in warm summer weather. Processing any slits, I always baste them, topstitch and the remove the basting thread. In this way the it is easier, neater and quicker to make. 

The sleeves were very long, before sewing the cuffs I shortened them for 3 cm.

Рукави мають ефектні розрізи, що дозволяє носити сукню в теплу літню погоду. Обробляючи будь які розрізи, я завжди їх зметую, відстрочую і потім видаляю зметувальну нитку. Так це виходить легше, охайніше та швидше. Рукава були дуже довгі, до того як пришивати манжети, я їх вкоротила на 3 см.

The night we spent in a hotel not far from Zhashkiv and in the morning had a relaxing meeting with horses at the local horse-racing complex. 

Right then I thought that I needed one more dress :-)

Заночували ми в готелі недалеко від Жашкова, а розслаблений ранок присвятили знайомству з кіньми місцевого кінно-спортивного комплексу. Саме тоді я і подумала, що мені потрібна ще одна сукня :-)

Yellow Cotton Jacket, or Cherkashchyna Sketches II

 

The morning of the first day in Cherkashchyna turned to be chilly and poetic. We were providential with the weather indeed. As a rule, in the end of July here in the South of Ukraine the best is to travel from shower to shower because of 40 degrees above zero heat but that day the absolutely comfortable temperature 25/28 degrees happened. So even having no other reasons to head to the region, I would leave my house for the sake of using the chance to enjoy the weather, nature and calmness as two days without air alarms mean a rest anyway. Romantic and lyrical mood of the morning was defined by the visiting Shuvalov`s Palace in Talne, an abandoned architectural sight in the process of renovation. The admiration and best impressions from the place wouldn`t be so bright without our guide, a young talented architect managing that hard and painstaking process. The most memorizing moment happened when one of our fellow travellers and the guide, who came to be a skillful musician as well, in turn played the piano put in one of the ball rooms right for such an occasion. That alive music was so well-timed and appropriate in those big high rooms as if fetching breathe in them and that unusual and unique moment was wanted to go on as long as possible.

Жовтий бавовняний жакет, або Замальовки з Черкащини ІІ

Ранок першого дня на Черкащині видався прохолодним і поетичним. З погодою нам справді пощастило, адже подорожувати наприкінці липня у нас на півдні зазвичай можна лише в душ та з душу через спеку до +40, а тут абсолютно комфортна температура +25/28; якби у мене не було інших причин вирушити у мандрівку, я б виповзла з хати лише через це, аби не проґавити можливість насолодитися погодою, природою та спокоєм, адже два дні без повітряних тривог - це вже відпочинок. Ліричність та романтичність ранку визначило відвідування Шуваловського палацу в містечку Тальне, занедбаної архітектурної пам'ятки у процесі відновлювання. Захват та враження від того місця не були б такими яскравими без нашого гіда, цікавої молодої людини, архітектора, який очолює той непростий та кропіткий процес.  Найпам'ятніший момент прогулянки палацом подарували одна з наших супутниць та, знову ж таки, наш гід, який виявився ще і вмілим музикою. Вони по черзі зіграли невеличкі уривки творів на піаніно встановлених в одній з зал саме на подібний випадок. Така жива музика була надзвичайно доречною та зворушливою в тих великих високих залах, наче вдихала в них життя і хотілося щоб той несподіваний та унікальний момент тривав і тривав.

I decided to make a suit at once as soon as saw both models in Burda 3/2023. First  the trousers #125 were ready. For the jacket I chose pattern #104. I thought what to do if my 3 m wouldn't be enough for the suit. But finally, all the details were arranged and none of my plans B got in use.

Я одразу вирішила шити костюм, щойно побачила моделі в Burda 3/2023. Спочатку зробила штанці 125. Для жакета обрала модель 104. Обмірковувала, що робитиму якщо моїх 3 м тканини не вистачить на костюм. Але зрештою всі деталі вклалися і жодний з планів Б не знадобився.

Not sure if I say this in English correctly but the collar is really well-tailored here. I mean the patterns are given for the upper and beneath collars and that lets to achieve the proper fit of the detail. It seems I made this last time when sewing only one of my coats years ago.

Тут дуже правильний з точки зору кравецтва комір. Верхня і нижня деталі мають окремі викрійки і завдяки цьому досягається ідеальна посадка коміру. Я таке останній раз робила заради одного з моїх пальт роки тому.

During the trip the idea of seeing all regions of Ukraine  one by one and not only well known featured sights often crossed my mind. It would be perfect. 

Під час подорожі спалахувала думка побачити одна за одною ось так всі області України, а не лише загальновідомі визначні місця. Це було б чудово.

Ruffle Short Sleeve Blouse, or Cherkashchyna Sketches I

I was very lucky to have an amazing and highly relaxing weekend in the Cherkasy region last days off, in fact, the first of the kind since the big war started. Not less lucky we were with the weather which was moderately hot for this time of summer so quite comfortable for travelling from the south to the centre of Ukraine. Of course, traditionally I couldn't help sewing a few garments to enjoy the trip even more what caused taking a lot of pictures with me that is not very typical. I made this belted blouse, a jacket and a dress, also my this year favourite yellow trousers, and wide viscose ones were packed into the bag, the hat on the head, and the earrings in ears :-) The choice of the blouse was successful indeed, it's made of very thin light popeline, almost doesn't wrinkle, and the ruffles keep the shape. The outfit was perfect to visit the centre of Trypillia Culture in Legedzyne village and Buky Canyon. 

To make the blouse I chose model #108 from Burda 4/2018, the same models are #6155B, or #2B in Burda Easy 1/2020. Actually, I used the paper pattern from this latter issue as I have them both, however, it is very handy to use Burda Easy magazines.

Блузка зі шлярками з коротким рукавом, або Замальовки з Черкащини І

Мені дуже пощастило провести захопливі та розслабляючи  вихідні на Черкащині минулої суботи та неділі, фактично перші подібні з початку великої війни. Не менш нам пощастило з погодою, бо, як на цей період літа, було помірно спекотно і достатньо комфортно для подорожі з півдня до центру України. Звісно, по традиції, я не могла не пошити декілька речей, щоб ще більше насолоджуватися мандрівкою і що, в свою чергу, спричинило появу багатьох фотографій з моїм зображенням, чого зазвичай не трапляється. Я зробила цю блузку з паском, жакет та сукню, також в сумку спакувала мої цьогорічні улюбленці жовті та широкі віскозні штанці, капелюх на голову та сережки у вуха :-) Вибір блузки був справді вдалий, вона пошита з тоненького легкого попліну, майже не мнеться, а шлярки добре тримають форму. Вбрання прекрасно вписалося у відвідування центру Трипільської культури в селі Легедзине та Буцького каньону. 

Для пошиття блузки використала викрійку моделі 108 з Burda 4/2018, такі самі моделі 6155В, та 2В з Burda Easy 1/20202. Загалом, саме цю останню паперову викрійку і застосувала, бо у мене є обидва числа журналу, проте, користуватися викрійками з Burda Easy дуже зручно.

The ruffles are hemmed with twice-folded edges.

The belt detail is folded for times and topstitched around. 

Деталь паска складено вчетверо і відстрочено по периметру. 

The loops for the belt were crocheted. Made a chain and sewed it. 

Петлі для паска сплела гачком, зробила ланцюжок, а потім пришила його.

As a rule, when travelling, I pack as many garments as many days I am on a trip plus something to sleep in. But, as my friend remarked, it's worth taking as many outfits as many places you are going to visit. Can't but agree indeed so should work to change my rules :-) 

Як правило, подорожуючи, беру з собою стільки змін одягу, скільки днів у мандрівці плюс щось у чому спати. Але, як завважила моя подруга, в цьому випадку варто рахувати не кількість днів, а кількість місць які збираєшся відвідати. Не можу не погодитись тож маю працювати над зміною правила :-)
