Horizontally Pleated Top

 

One more wartime quick sewing from July, which would have been even quicker if I hadn't have to interrupt the process to hide during air alarms signals. But anyway it is ready and today my mama took the photos. Plain and rather boring fabric appearance of which in my stash can be explained only by incredibly low price for unbelievable high quality required not ordinary design to be used properly. Thus the piece of viscose of a strange, either grey or green or both in one, colour matched well pattern #115 from Burda 6/2014. The top, or blouse pairs well with my Universal trousers that seem to suit whatever I made now. Also the neutral colour of the garment lets display the last set of the jewelry I've finished recently in the best way.

Ще одна липнева річ швидкого пошиття воєнного часу, яка могла б пошитися ще швидше, якби мені постійно не треба було переривати процес, щоб ховатися під час сигналів повітряної тривоги. Але, як би там не було, він готовий і сьогодні мама нас, мене і блузку, сфотографувала. Проста і доволі нудна тканина, появу якої в моїх запасах можна пояснити лише її якоюсь несусвітньо низькою ціною за гарну якість,  потребувала незвичного дизайну, щоб виглядати пристойно; саме таким чином відріз віскози дивного, чи то сірого, чи зеленого, або і обох в одному, кольору, добре підійшов для моделі 115 з Burda 6/2014. Топ, чи блузка, гарно комбінується з моїми Універсальними штанами, які схоже пасують до всього, що я шию останнім часом. Також нейтральний колір вбрання дозволив найкращим чином виставити на показ останній набір прикрас, який я нещодавно зробила.

Sewing includes 4 steps.

1. Piping of the neck hole.

2. The armholes are narrow hemmed. To make it easier at first I folded the edge and pressed it.

3. Then stitched the side seams and then stitched the armholes.

4. Stitching the pleats. 

Пошиття складається з чотирьох кроків.

1. Обробка горловини косою бейкою.

2. Пройму оброблено подвійною підгинкою. Щоб це легше було зробити, спочатку я її запрасувала.

3. Потім зшила  бокові шви і потім застрочила підгинку.

4. Зшивання складок.

Flamingo Dress

 

In July I made few garments but had no chance to write posts about all of them as there were no possibility to take photos of all the outfits because of constant shelling. One of these projects is a small summer sleeveless dress sewed by model #108 from Burda 4/2022. The dress caught my eye at once, I even bought its PDF pattern from our site burdastyle.ua as the physical magazine was out of printing because their publishing house was destroyed. But purchasing that PDF pattern was mostly to support the people who work there as I had no chance to print it as well. As soon as the issue was published few months late, I couldn't but yield the temptation to add it to my library. The fabric for the sewing was defined at once, the only thing to mention, this piece of poplin was probably bought to sew a shirt if to judge by its length but I decided 127 cm would be enough to make a long version of the dress. This naive hope evaporated right after arranging the details on the fabric. At once the tunnels and belts were cut, there left fabric enough exactly for a shorter dress version with 63 cm skirt's length as in the magazine. For the belts it was not enough fabric either so I used extra material for them as well as for the neck hole facings and bias pipes to process the armholes.

Сукня "Фламінго"

В липні я пошила декілька речей, але про деякі у мене не було можливості скласти дописи, бо ніяк не вдавалося сфотографувати готові вироби через постійні обстріли. Одна з тих речей - маленька літня сукня без рукавів, виготовлена за моделлю 108 з Burda 4/2022. Сукня мені одразу сподобалася, я навіть PDF викрійку купила на нашому сайті burdastyle.ua, адже журнал в друкованому вигляді не виходив через те, що їхню типографію розбомбили. Проте, придбання PDF викрійки більше було, щоб підтримати людей, які там працюють, адже роздрукувати її у мене теж шансів не було. Щойно випуск з'явився, із запізненням на декілька місяців, не могла собі відмовити в бажанні додати його до своєї бібліотеки. З тканиною одразу визначилася, єдине: цей, здається, поплін був куплений для пошиття сорочки, якщо судити з довжини відрізу, проте, я чомусь вирішила, що 127 см вистачить на довгий варіант сукні. Це наївне сподівання випарувалося щойно деталі розклалися на тканині: з довжини одразу відрізала куліси та паски і залишилося рівно на коротку сукню, навіть журнальної довжини, 63 см від талії. На паски теж не зовсім вистачило - довелося зробити їх з двох частин і додати оздоблювальну тканину, з цієї ж додаткової тканини викроїла обшивки горловини і канти для обробки пройм.

To cut the facings the details 24 and 23 were used. 

Обшивки покроєні по деталях 23 та 24. 

The belts are 135 cm length (the fabric's width). The ready belts, after pulling into the tunnels, were sewed to the dress on the wrong side to avoid their moving back and forth. 

Паски 135 см довжиною (ширина тканини). Готові паски, після затягування у куліси, я пришила до сукні з виворітного боку, щоб не перетягувалися вперед назад. 

Final steps.

1. I sewed the facing to the front part of the dress in the folds of the pleats.

2.Two heart buttons were sewed and the loop was crocheted and sewed. To fasten the dress the loop must be twisted in an infinity symbol. 

Останні кроки.

1. Обшивку я пришила до передньої частини в глибині складок.

2.Два ґудзики-сердечки були пришиті, також петлю сплела гачком і теж пришила. Щоб застібнути сукню, петлю треба скрутити  у форму "вісімки". 

So, instead of Hawaiian shirt I got a Hawaiian dress adjusted to the hot summer city. And it is gorgeous indeed:-) 

Отже, замість гавайської сорочки у мене вийшла гавайська сукня пристосована до спекотного літнього міста. І це прекрасно:-)

Lvivsky Square Earrings

 

Having beaded the set of the necklaces, I decided not to postpone earrings making to pair the set. They are really a statement piece. I don't know if I wear them together with the necklaces but as a separate item, they look gorgeous.

Сережки "Львівській квадрат" 

Нанизавши набір намист, вирішила не відкладати виготовлення сережок в пару до цього набору. Сережки вийшли дуже виразні, справді привертають увагу. Не знаю, чи носитиму я їх як частину набору, але як окремий аксесуар, вони виглядають прекрасно.

Lvivsky Square Necklace III

The last part of the Lvivsky Square set is a double short necklace made with the same materials. The earrings are planned but I am not sure about the desired outcome.

Lvivsky Square Necklace II

 

The second necklace to wear together with Square Pendant is not a square at all :-) It is a rope made of alternating pieces of chain with seed beads and beads components. Joining elements with opening the chain links is not a very good idea as the strength of their connection can weaken while wearing the necklace. It would be better to use  small jump rings but I have only few of them and now there is no store here to buy them. On the other hand, the strength of my own body can be broken at any moment so those links' issue can be ignored undoubtedly.

Намисто "Львівський Квадрат" ІІ 

Друге намисто, щоб носити в парі з квадратним кулоном - це зовсім не квадрат, це - низка, створена чергуванням відрізків ланцюжка з компонентами, зібраними з бісеру та намистин. З'єднувати елементи, порушуючи цілісність ланок ланцюжку - не дуже гарна ідея, оскільки втрачається міцність з'єднання ланок і вони з часом можуть розкриватися. Для цього краще б підійшли маленькі колечка, але у мене їх лише декілька штук в запасі і купити зараз немає де, тож з огляду, що зараз міцність власного організму може порушитися в один момент, не те що ланцюжка, таку дрібницю можна проігнорувати.

Lvivsky Square Necklace I

 

Today I had a chance to finish my, in fact UFO, unfinished object. I hadn't realized before starting writing this post the embroidered piece was created two years ago. In the process I changed the idea of the rhombus for a square and in this way the work went very quickly. All the used materials were in my stash. 

Finally, I made three necklaces to wear either together or separately. If I survive this night, the rest ones will be posted next days.

Намисто "Львівській квадрат" 

Сьогодні у мене була можливість закінчити мій давно відкладений проект. Я і не усвідомлювала, до того як почала писати цей допис, що вишиту частину зробила ще два роки тому. В процесі я змінила ідею ромбу на квадрат і так робота пішла дуже швидко. Всі використані матеріали були у мене в запасах. 

Зрештою я зробила три намиста, які можна надягати або разом або окремо. Якщо сьогоднішню ніч переживу, решту розміщу тут наступними днями.

Before starting stringing the necklace, I had to remove wire loops in the corners of the embroidered piece. Surprisingly, it was very easy to do although I'd been sure the bricks could be hung on the loops so firmly they'd been glued. Instead I joined thread protectors in all four corners. 

Перед тим як починати нанизувати намисто, мені треба було витягти петлі з дроту на кутках вишитого ромбу, на диво це вдалося зробити дуже легко, хоча я була впевнена, що на них можна підвисити цеглини, настільки міцно я їх клеїла. Натомість на всі чотири кутки пришила протектори для ниток.

Mother's Summer Dress

 

Probably never before we've appreciated the simplest things in our life so high as we do now. Maybe it became one of the reasons made me decide to sew my mom a new dress as soon as I made the top from the previous post. Another reason was absolutely prosy: my mom lost much weight after COVID this year so she really needed some fresh addition of proper size to her summer wardrobe. After I made the mentioned above top, mama tried it on and it fitted quite well so I suggested to make her a dress using the same pattern but modified, of course. The garment was sewed quickly and with pleasure. 

Літня сукня для мами 

Вірогідно ніколи раніше ми так високо не цінували найпростіші речі в нашому житті. Можливо це  стало однією  з причин пошиття нової літньої сукні для мами, щойно я закінчила роботу над топом з попереднього допису. Інша причина набагато прозаїчніша: цього року після ковіду мама втратила багато ваги, тож їй точно потрібно було додати щось свіженьке відповідного розміру до гардеробу. Як вищезгаданий топ був готовий, мама його поміряла і він добре сів на неї, тож я запропонувала пошити сукню за тією ж самою викрійкою, але, звісно, модифікованою. Вбрання пошилося швидко і з задоволенням. 

To change the pattern of a top for dress is quite easy. I changed pattern #115 (both A and B) from Burda 7/2019 in this way. 

Змінити викрійку топу на викрійку сукні доволі легко. Я змінила викрійку 115 з Burda 7/2019 так. 

1. On the shoulders short cuts, 4-5 см, were made.

2. I liked the processing of the neck hole very much. So hope to use it in other things.

3. For the belt two crocheted loops were made.

4. The belt is long. Ready measures 3cm x 205 cm. 

1. На плечах зробила короткі розрізи. 4-5 см.

2. Мені сподобалася така обробка горловини. Сподіваюся використовувати її і для інших речей.

3.Для паска додала дві петлі сплетені гачком.

4. пасок довгий. В готовому вигляді 3см х 205 см. 

We are experiencing hard times. I wish we had never known what is war. But I am happy I could create a small piece of joy for my mom. 

Ми переживаємо важкі часи. Хотіла б я, щоб ми ніколи не знали, що таке війна. Але я щаслива, що могла подарувати мамі невеличку радість.

Low Back Viscose Top

 

Some time ago I decided to change jersey T-shirts for woven fabric tops in my wardrobe. Thanking to that idea, few small pieces of fabric  meant to make them found themselves in my stash. As I still prefer to sew quick simple patterns because of regular shelling which doesn`t let either to plan time or do whatever whenever I can or want but only when it is relatively quiet, this kind of items are really good choice. One of such tops is model #115 (both A and B) from Burda 7/2019.  From this issue also I  used to make Raglan Sleeves Sheath Dress, #118. As for the top, it is one of the patterns which give you no more than they can but not less than expected :-)

In the photos the top is paired with Flared Trousers #103 from Burda 9/2019 and Snowflakes ropes II and III.

Топ з глибоким вирізом на спинці

Деякий час тому я вирішила в своєму гардеробі замінити трикотажні футболки на тканеві топи. Завдяки цьому у мене в запасах саме для цього опинилися невеличкі відрізи тканин. Оскільки я все ще надаю перевагу пошиттю швидких простих речей через регулярні обстріли, які не дозволяють ані щось планувати ані  займатися будь чим тоді коли хочеш або можеш, а лише коли більш менш спокійно, такі проекти є справді гарним вибором. Один з таких топів - модель 115 (А,В) з Burda 7/2019. З цього числа журналу я також пошила Сукню-футляр з рукавами реглан, № 118. Щодо топу, то це одна з моделей, від яких отримуєш не більше ніж те, на що вони здатні, але не менше ніж очікуєш:-)

The sewing is quick. I changed nothing in the sewing except the processing of the arm hole edge. 

1. Instead of its piping I folded the edge twice and stitched it.

2. As I had only 70 cm of the fabric, the bias pipe I made of short pieces joined them together. 

3. The back bar is made by folding too. 

Пошиття швидке. Нічого не змінила крім обробки країв пройми. 

1. Замість обробки кантом просто двічі підвернула краї і відстрочила його. 

2. Оскільки тканини було лише 70 см, кант зроблений з коротких відрізків. 

3. Бейка для спинки теж зроблена подвійною підгинкою. 

I like the top as it is an ideal light model for hot weather. So maybe I'll use the pattern again.

Мені подобається цей топ, оскільки це ідеальна легка модель для спекотного літа. Тож, можливо, буду знову використовувати цю викрійку.

Simple Seed Bead Chain

I still have no chance to wear my pendant from the previous post but I am glad I remembered about the necessity to hang it on the chain to put it on before that chance:-) The chain I made by this tutorial. I enjoy the outcome  more than just a lot and would love to make several more rows of this chain. I am sure it will look stunning but as the work is a little boring I am not sure I am ready to make it right now. I think it is a good idea for a trip project as to make a chain one needs only seed beads of two colours and findings that are possible to attach not at once. 

Простий ланцюжок з бісеру 

У мене поки що не було можливості надягнути мій кулон з попереднього допису, але радію, що згадала про необхідність повісити його на ланцюжок до того, як така можливість з'явилася:-) Ланцюжок зробила за цим майстеркласом. Від результату в захваті і з задоволенням зробила б декілька рядочків такого ланцюжка. Впевнена, це виглядало б приголомшливо, але оскільки робота ця трохи нуднувата, не думаю, що займатимуся цим зараз. Думаю, це гарна ідея для проекту під час подорожі, адже все що тут потрібно - це бісер двох кольорів і фурнітура, яку ж не обов'язково чіпляти одразу. 

Ready view is very cute. My only fail is a choice of findings, they are obviously too dark here. But, telling the true, I noticed that only when taking the photo in the sun. It's a wonder I am still able to pay attention to such trifles after weeks of hard shelling. So I am able to live with that:-)

Готовий вигляд дуже милий. Єдиний недолік тут - це вибір фурнітури, вочевидь застібка надто темна. Але, по правді, я це помітила лише коли зробила фото ланцюжка на сонці. Диво, що взагалі здатна звертати увагу на такі дрібниці після тижнів важких обстрілів. Тож з цим я точно зможу жити:-)

Delicate Drop Pendant

 

For almost a week I've been working on this delicate pendant by Melissa Grakowsky Shippe pattern from B&B October 2019. It is made in CRAW technique. It is delicate indeed by its size and it's refined because made mostly with 15.0 seed beads of two colours.  Instead  of 11.0 I used 10.0 Czech seed beads of two colours too.

Кулон "Вишукана крапля" 

Майже тиждень працювала над цим кулоном від Melissa Grakowsky Shippe з B&B October 2019. Зроблений в техніці CRAW. Делікатний за розміром і вишуканий оскільки сплетений бісером 15.0 двох кольорів. Замість бісеру 11.0. використала чеський 10.0 так само в двох кольорах. 

The colour style of the pendant is quite neutral so it would be easy to match different kinds of clothes. 

Кольорова гама кулону доволі універсальна, тож він легко доповнить багато речей.

Orange Short Sleeve Shirt

New item made both to match those palazzo trousers and to wear the set of jewellery made just because I have no items of so beautiful purple colour :-) It was comparatively quick sewing despite not so easy model of the blouse #123 from Burda 6/2003 as its paper pattern was traced probably two years ago and stayed in the magazine since then. The fabric, thin linen, was purchased at that time as well to make this shirt which was supposed to match the pair of trousers #103 from Burda 9/2019 but the shirt's fate changed. Orange colour and half-fitted cut of the blouse turned to be ideal partners for the variegated viscose trousers of loose silhouette. Very lively and cheerful look this outfit has. I did enjoy wearing it!

Помаранчева сорочка з короткими рукавами

Новий предмет гардеробу, створений щоб і до тих штанів палаццо підходив і щоб новий комплект прикрас, сплетений з тієї причини, що у мене дрібничок такого гарного фіолетового кольору немає, згодився :-) Пошиття блузки 123 з Burda 6/2003 було порівняно швидким, хоча модель не така вже і проста, оскільки викрійку я зробила роки зо два тому і вона з того часу лежала у журналі. Тканину, тонкий льон, купила спеціально для цієї сорочки десь в той самий час, щоб згодом, по пошитті, скомбінувати зі штанами  #103 з Burda 9/2019, але доля сорочки змінилася:-) ЇЇ оранжевий колір та напівприлягаючий крій виявилися чудовими партнерами для строкатих віскозних штанів вільного силуету. Комплект вийшов життєрадісний і жвавий. Одягала його з задоволенням! 

My sewing notes.

1. The main feature of the model is its original pockets, they are double with pleated upper part. 

2. But, as I have quite big bust (cup F), I refused omitted that part.

3. The inner edges of the pockets seem to be extra but they are not, they must be basted by the draft to form a bulging shape for the bust.

4. Both back and front edges of the yoke I stich on the sewing machine. Video shows the way to turn it out. All the basting threads must be removed.

1. Головна цікавинка цієї моделі - це кишені, вони подвійні, верхня зі складками.

2. Оскільки бюст у мене доволі великий (чашка F), від верхньої частини я відмовилася.

3. Внутрішні краї кишень здаються завеликими, але це не так, їх треба намітати за викрійкою, щоб вони утворили опуклість для бюсту.

4. І задній і передні шви кокеток я зшиваю на машинці. Відео демонструє, як це вивертається на лице. Всі зметувальні нитки треба видалити.

Multi Coloured Viscose Trousers

 

There was not much to tell about the blouse provoked the sewing of this pair of trousers. But I have even less to tell about the trousers themselves except the fact that I had not enough fabric to make them. But when could it stop me? From the very beginning I decided it must be the simplest model with elastic band without any zipper or pockets. Burda has more than enough choice of such patterns which could be found at least in every other magazine. I used #111 from Burda 10/2019. I used to make a dress #109 from this magazine a couple of years ago.

Строкаті штани з віскози 

Не було мені багато чого розповідати про блузку, яка спровокувала пошиття цієї пари штанів. Про самі штани мені є розповісти ще менше крім того, що мені аж ніяк не вистачало на них тканини. Але коли мене це зупиняло? З самого початку я вирішила, що це має бути найпростіший крій з еластичним поясом без застібки на блискавку і кишень. Burda має багатий вибір таких моделей, які можна знайти щонайменше в кожному другому журналі. Я використала викрійку 111 з Burda 10/2019. З цього випуску пару років тому я шила сукню 109. 

1.To arrange the paper pattern on the fabric I had to cut separate triangles and stitched them to the inner edges of the every back details, then cut the fabric by the right inner line. The fabric is variegated enough not to see the joint clear. 

2.The pattern has a zipper so to put the trousers on I omitted back darts. The pockets were out of question as well but while posing for the pictures I noticed my trying to put my hands into the absent pockets so I'd rather add them having seam allowance wide enough. The facing is used as a pipe for 3 cm elastic. 

1.Щоб викласти паперову викрійку на тканині, довелося покроїти окремі трикутники і пришити їх до внутрішніх країв кожної задньої деталі, потім підрізала тканину по правильним лініям. Тканина достатньо строката, щоб стик не був аж занадто помітний.

2.Модель застібається на блискавку, тож щоб влізти в штани без неї, відмовилася від виточок на задніх половинках. Кишені не обговорювалися, але поки позувала для фото, помітила свої намагання засунути руки в ті неіснуючі кишені, тож варто було б їх зробити, якби припуски на шви були дозволяли. Обшивка використана як куліса для 3 см еластичної тасьми.

V-neck Viscose Blouse

 

The jewelry set, described in the previous post, turned out to match nothing in my summer wardrobe. Thus I decided I had to sew something not to wait until winter, as under every day shelling it can happen not to be waited, to wear the accessories. The main criterion of the fabric choice for such a garment was its colour style, of course. In my stash I found two pieces of rayon possible to use. Both of them meant to become shirts or blouses but when the first new blouse was ready, it turned out to match nothing in my wardrobe either so the second piece transformed into trousers. 

Блуза з віскози з вирізом мисом

З'ясувалося, що набір прикрас, описаний в попередньому дописі, ні до чого в моєму літньому гардеробі не пасує. Тож, щоб не чекати до зими, бо ж коли живеш під щоденними обстрілами, можна і не дочекатися, щоб одягнути ті прикраси, вирішила щось гоже пошити. Головним критерієм відбору тканини для такого виробу була, звісно, кольорова гама. В запасах у себе знайшла два відрізи віскози, які могли б для цього згодитися. Обидва вони мали стати блузками або сорочками, але коли ця перша нова блузка була готова, з'ясувалося, що вона також ні до чого в моєму гардеробі не пасує. Тож другий відріз перетворився на штани. 

The choice of the model to sew was defined by the blouse's function to be a background for the necklace so the main detail had to be the v-neck  hole. I didn't think a lot. The first designed in this way blouse I came across, was model #113 from Burda 11/2021. The pattern has a scarf and a pipe for elastic. The scarf was out of discussion for a summer garment at once and the decision about the elastic I postponed to the moment when the item was ready. As it is clear from the pictures, the ready blouse has no elastic. This made the sewing even more quicker and simpler. 

Вибір моделі для пошиття визначався її функцією фону для намиста, тож головною деталлю мав стати виріз мисом. Багато я не розмірковувала. Перша блузка, змодельована таким чином, яка потрапила мені на очі, була викрійка 113 з Burda 11/2021. Модель також має шарф і кулісу для еластичної тасьми. Шарф був поза дискусією для літньої блузки, а от щодо куліси, вирішила визначитися після того, як вбрання буде готове. Як видно по фото, куліси теж немає. І це зробило пошиття ще простішим і швидшим. 

My notes about the sewing. 

1. I was not lazy to even the edge of the piece. After pulling the thread along the fabric width, the fabric was cut by the trace. 

2. Omitting the scarf I had to cut the facing for the back neckhole. 

3. The blouse and sleeves edges are hemmed with double fold and straight stitching.

Мої нотатки щодо пошиття. 

1. Не полінилася вирівняти край відрізу витягуванням нитки вздовж ширини тканини, по утвореному сліду залишок тканини відрізала. 

2. Відмовившись від шарфу довелося кроїти обшивку для спинки. 

3. Низ блузки і рукавів оброблений подвійною підгинкою. 

The final result is very cute, fresh, and girlish but mostly makes me think about a breakfast in some quiet place far away in the mountain or a forest chalet where that jewelry set would look out of place :-) And it means that the search of the right garment must be going on. 

Кінцевий результат дуже милий і виглядає свіжим і дівчачим, але переважно навіює думки про сніданок десь далеко в тихому гірському чи лісному шале, де такий набір прикрас виглядає недоречним:-) А це означає, що пошуки гожого вбрання мають тривати.

Iris Necklace and Earrings Set

 

Today the third day of summer. I made a new set of jewellery. I don't remember when its beading started as probably none of us noticed there was spring this year and I began my project on some day in spring, maybe in March or April. We are mostly focusing on the main things now, really main and important. Our life saving and our victory. To have joyful moments are as meaningful to survive. My set seems to be full of delight and brightness as well as plenty of flowers around now. For example, irises. A lot of them fill the hot southern air with their saturated astringent scent and triumphant beauty now. It cannot but inspire, can it? :-)

Сьогодні третій день літа. Зробила новий набір прикрас. Не пам'ятаю коли почала плетіння, тому що мабуть жоден з нас цього року не помітив, що була весна, а  робота розпочалася якогось весняного дня, можливо десь у березні чи квітні. Ми зараз зосереджені на головних речах, справді головних і важливих. Збереженні життя і нашій перемозі. Дозволяти собі хвилини радості теж дуже вагомо для виживання. Мій набір, здається наповненим радістю і яскравістю так само як квіти, яких зараз навколо дуже багато. Наприклад, ірисів. Незліченна їх кількість наповнює спекотне південне повітря своїм насиченим терпким ароматом та тріумфальною красою. Це ж не може не надихати? 

The materials were prepared long ago the used pattern for the pendant and the earrings by Helena Tang-Lim from B&B August 2019. The pendant has more interesting rope in the magazine but I didn't have enough  seed beads for it as to make the earrings was more important for me.

Матеріали для набору були давно підготовлені, модель кулону і сережок від Helena Tang-Lim з B&B серпень 2019. В журналі кулон має цікавіший джгут, але у мене на нього бісеру не вистачило, оскільки зробити сережки було для мене важливіше.

Spring Wrap Dress

I am just glad I have made a new dress. The routine of usual life was broken almost three months ago.. three months of war... the reason of this war is the desire of one nation to kill us only because we are different and want to live the way we want. It sounds as a wild medieval thing. Simple repeating of that or saying it aloud makes scary. And we still are learning to get used to live in our new reality. Nobody wants this reality but we eagerly want to live, so right now I think the things I must, can, or need to do for the sake of that are almost merges in my one ability to do whatever either for my country, for me, or for my family. So I know exactly I should sew if I have time, place and feel safe enough. 

It supposed to be a festive Easter garment, the appropriate colour style of the fabric tells about it on its own. As I had a long piece of the material, I could, in fact, to sew almost any fabric consuming model. Thus dress pattern #108 from Burda 9/2020 was chosen. Despite enormous quantity of the required fabric, the model is simple to sew, this necessary feature of the patterns to make now was mentioned in one of my previous war time posts. The dress also has one of my favourite wrap design, and the wide sleeves add even more lightness to the outfit. 

Ruby Garnet Short Necklace and the earrings are good accessories here. The shoes were not bought to match the dress, I am just lucky to have them :-)

Весняна сукня з заходом

Я просто рада, що пошила нову сукню. Щоденне рутинне життя було зруйноване майже три місяці тому... три місяці війни. Причина цієї війни в бажанні однієї нації нас вбивати лише за те, що ми інші і хочемо жити на свій лад. Звучить як відлуння якогось дикого середньовіччя. Навіть якщо ти лише повторюєш цю фразу або вимовляєш вголос, тебе це лякає. І ми все ще вчимося призвичаюватися жити в нашій новій реальності. Цієї реальності ніхто не хоче, але ми непереборно хочемо жити, тому зараз я думаю, що всі речі які я повинна, можу або мушу робити заради цього, зливаються в одну мою здатність робити будь що чи то для себе, чи для родини чи для країни. Тож зараз я точно знаю, що мені варто шити, якщо маю час, місце і почуваюся у відносній безпеці. 

Це планувалося як святкове вбрання до Великодня: відповідна кольорова гама тканини сама про це говорить. Оскільки у мене був великий відріз, пошити можна було будь яку модель з понаднормовою витратою тканини.  Так і обралася сукня 108 з Burda 9/2020. Незважаючи на велику потрібну кількість матеріалу, модель нескладна в роботі, необхідність чого в моделях для пошиття зараз вже згадувалася в одному з моїх попередніх дописах воєнного часу. Також сукня має один з моїх улюблених кроїв - на захід, а широкі рукави додають цьому вбранню ще більше легкості. 

Коротке намисто "Рубіновий гранат" та сережки є тут гарними аксесуарами. Черевики не купувалися спеціально до сукні, мені просто пощастило, що вони у мене є :-) 

I changed the skirt Instead of the wrap I made a deep pleat to imitate the wrap. To make that the right front part of the skirt must was widened, for the made size 42, to about 28 cm along the waist and to about 50 cm along the bottom. It is more practical.

Я змінила спідницю. Замість заходу зробила глибоку складку, яка імітує захід. Для цього, на пошитий розмір 42, права передня частина спідниці була розширена по талії приблизно на 28 см, а по низу приблизно на 50 см. Так набагато практичніше.

Next steps are by the instruction. My piece of experience.

1. As the front edge can stretch whatever fabric is used, it is desired to control its length by the paper pattern. 

2. The pipe for the elastic is better to stitch wider as the thickness of the front part is essential and it can be a problem to pull the elastic through it, at least I had the one. 

3. The length of the skirt must be even from the floor like in Daisy Dress, before doing that the pleat was pinned. 

4. To make easier stitching of the hem I put a piece of tracing paper underneath.

Наступі кроки за інструкцією. Мій досвід.

1. Оскільки передній край може розтягуватися, з якої б тканини сукню не шили, варто проконтролювати його довжину за паперовою викрійкою.

2. Кулісу для еластичної тасьми варто зробити ширшою, оскільки по переду пілочка має суттєву товщину, тож протягування тасьми може ускладнитися, принаймні, у мене так було.

3. Довжину спідниці треба вирівняти від підлоги як в "Ромашковій" сукні, перед тим як це робити, складку я сколола. 

4. Щоб легше відстрочувати поділ, під низ підкладала шматки паперу. 

As my dress made of stretch soft not very thin silky  polyester, the lining for me became a must. But I just made a separate dress using the pattern of the bodice as a sloper. The great fitting must be admitted here:-) All the edges were processed with a hemmer foot, it turned to create thin and quite neat zigzag. To move free the slit was cut. 

Оскільки сукня моя з еластичного м'якого, не дуже тонкого поліестеру, підкладка для мене тут обов'язкова. Але цього разу я зробила окрему сукню використавши верхню частину сукні як основу. Маю відмітити прекрасну посадку цього виробу:-) Всі краї обробила за допомогою лапки для підгинки низу, яка, як виявилося, виконує тоненький і доволі охайний зігзаг. Для вільного руху зробила розріз. 

Now the time to enjoy the outcome.
