Flared Monday Dress

The dress was finished on Monday so if I have Sunday trousers, why not to have Monday Dress? Hmm... having in mind all that, I think it would be a good idea to make a dress every day of week and call it correspondingly...:-)

The only thing, accompanying this sewing,  I can tell  is the fact  of me being on holidays at last. The idea of this new outfit expresses this joyful time of year definably. The dress looks light, feminine, flirty and chic. It seems to me I am not exactly the one who is in such a mood right now but it is surely the description I strive to get for myself and maybe even will have achieved that state of relaxed mind and soul by the end of summer :-) Of course, I am joking... because anyway summer is a great time either to be busy with what you want to do or postponed to do or being lazy if you can afford that. As for me, the right balance of the mentioned above activities makes the time splendid.

Moon Time Bracelet and Moon Time Earrings were made especially to complement the apparel.

Сукня зі шлярками "Понеділок"

Сукню було закінчено у понеділок, тож якщо у мене є Недільні штани, чому б мені не мати Понеділкової сукні?  Хмм... взявши все це до уваги, думаю непоганою ідеєю було б шити сукню кожного дня тижня і відповідно  її називати :-)

Все що я можу розповісти пов'язане з цією сукнею, так це приємний факт, що я вже нарешті у відпустці. Ідея цієї сукні безумовно виражає цю радісну пору року у всій красі. Сукня виглядає легкою, жіночною, грайливою та нарядною. Здається мені, я ще не зовсім в такому настрої, але це вже напевно опис якого прагну для себе і, можливо, навіть досягну того стану розслабленого розуму і душі ще до закінчення літа :-) Звісно, жартую... тому що як би там не було, літо - чудова пора, щоб зайнятися тим, чим хочеться або що відкладав, або, якщо можеш собі дозволити, просто полінуватися. Як на мене правильний баланс всього вищезгаданого якраз і робить цей час надзвичайним.

Браслет і сережки "Місячний ліхтарик" були зроблені спеціально, щоб доповнити сукню.

The dress #117 from Burda 4/2019 was meant to be sewed as I liked it from the first sight. So as soon as I had some free time, the process started and it was an enjoyment. I can't say the sewing is very complicated but it surely needs some extra attention. 

Сукня 117 з Burda 4/2019 була приречена на пошиття оскільки вона мені сподобалася з першого погляду. Тож, щойно у мене з'явися вільний час - процес розпочався і приніс задоволення. Не можу сказати, що пошиття аж таке складне, але вже напевно потребує додаткової уваги.

The processing of details 23 and 30. After stitching and turning it out, I top stitched it along the long edges. I recommend not to stitch side seams without trying the dress on. because, as you see from the photo, the fitting of the draping details must be regulated for your figure. For example, I had extra fabric on the top edge of the draping detail.

Обробка деталей 23 і 30. Після стачування і вивертання, я відстрочила деталь вздовж довгих країв. Рекомендую не з'єднувати бокові шви без примірки, тому що відлітні деталі треба підганяти по фігурі. Наприклад, у мене, як видно на фото, по верхньому краю вийшов надлишок тканини.

When buying the zipper I made a mistake with the colour and had nothing matching to change. So decided to sew a short zipper only around the waist part. The dress turned to have a slight slouching along the waist back. Usually, if I have any, I remove it but this time I didn't because on hot days it is more comfortable to have the dress a little loose, besides, when moving, it is not noticeable. 

Коли купувала "блискавку", помилилася з кольором, дома нічого гожого не було, щоб замінити. Тож вирішила вшити "блискавку" лише на самому вузькому місці. Виявилося, що сукня має невеличкий напуск вздовж талії спинки. Зазвичай, якщо таке трапляється, я це зрізаю, але цього разу вирішила залишити, бо в спеку краще, щоб сукня була трохи вільна, тим більше що в русі цей напуск не помітний.

As for draping detail 26, I top stitched it along the long edges as well because don't believe that every fabric dreams to be obeying especially after washing. I even can suggest to make it double to prevent the facing from turning out. That's why I stitched both of the draping details, 23 and 26 to the bodice (pink lines on the photo) and also sewed the facing of the detail 26 along bottom edge to the bodice from the wrong side with hands. The front bodice and skirt are joining in two stages.

Щодо деталі 26, її я теж відстрочила, тому що не вірю у добру волю тканини лежати так, як їй скажуть, особливо після прання. Я б навіть запропонувала зробити її подвійною, щоб обшивки не виверталися. Саме тому я настрочила обидві відлітні деталі, 23 1 26 до сукню (рожеві лінії на фото) і також пришила вручну деталь 26 з середини по нижньому краю. Передні частини верху та спідниці з'єднуються в два етапи.

The last tip about the corner of the diagonal ruffle. My fabric has definite right and wrong sides. After hemming the ruffle, its corner turned with its wrong side so I made a short bar to sew it to the diagonal seam and to save its mobility and hide the wrong side at the same time.

Останній прийомчик стосується діагональної шлярки. Після обробки її верхній куточок вивертався зворотньою стороною на лицеву, а тканина у мене має виражені зворотню і лицеву сторони, тож я пришила той куточок у діагональний шов за допомогою короткої закріпки, що водночас зберегло його рухливість і сховало зворотню сторону. 

Moon Lantern Bracelet

Today I have made a bracelet of the "Moon Lantern" beads from the previous post. The rest of the lilac crescent beads, that I had, was enough for making five "lanterns". I have two more crescents left and not less than three ones in the package were broken. Five beaded beads turned out to be the right number to make a bracelet. 

Браслет "Місячний ліхтарик"

Сьогодні зробила браслет з намистин "Місячний ліхтарик" з попереднього допису. Решти намистин півмісяців бузкового кольору, які у мене були, вистачило на п'ять "ліхтариків". Залишилося ще два півмісяці і не менше трьох в упаковці були зламані. П'ять нанизаних намистин виявилося саме стільки, скільки треба на браслет.

To make the bracelet fit well I had to string it in the way to get it about 21 cm long instead of my usual 14 cm because the beads are quite big.

Щоб браслет мав гарну посадку, довелося нанизувати його так, щоб отримати довжину 21 см замість моїх звичних 14, тому що намистини доволі великі. 

Moon Lantern Earrings

These days I started sewing a new dress. I guess the right time to make summer dresses came quite long ago :-) Yesterday I decided I want to make earrings to that dress. That was a good idea because when I finish the sewing, is not known, so it is the very moment to do at least something instead of nothing. 

The earrings are inspired both by the material - crescent beads, and the beaded bead from PotomacBeads' tutorial which I liked a lot as soon as saw it. So I even saved its name for my earrings. 

I enjoyed both of the process and result. Firstly, because it is my first experience with crescent beads and, secondly, because I don't remember when I beaded whatever last time so am glad  I still like it :-)

Сережки "Місячний ліхтарик"

Днями почала шити нову сукню. Здається мені, що час шити щось літнє настав вже давно :-) Вчора я вирішила, що хочу зробити сережки до тієї сукні. Це була непогана ідея, тому що коли я закінчу пошиття - невідомо, отже це той самий момент, коли варто зробити хоч щось замість нічого. 

На сережки надихнули і матеріали - намистини півмісяці, і сплетена намистина з МК від PotomacBeads, яка мені сподобалася щойно її побачила. Тож я навіть зберегла її назву для сережок. 

Мені сподобалися і процес, і результат. По-перше, тому що це мій перший досвід з "півмісяцями", а по-друге, тому що не пам'ятаю, коли я щось плела востаннє, тож радію, що мені це ще подобається :-)

At first, I made a couple of beads by the mentioned above tutorial, then made cups by the designer's advice, added rondelles and big black and white beads and then compiled the earrings of all the elements. 

Спочатку зробила намистини за вищезгаданим майстер-класом, потім, за порадою дизайнерки, капелюшки, потім додала ронделі і великі чорно-білі намистини, а потім зібрала сережки з усіх елементів. 

Poppies Field (Cross Stitching), or Irony of the Choice

I thought this event would never happen in my needlework life. It is prominent indeed for my personal collection of cross stitching pictures :-) Because I finished the one started about eight years ago! I tried to finish it few times but postponed and postponed and postponed again... I remember very well the beginning. 

Макове поле (Вишивка хрестиком), або Іронія вибору

Я думала, ця подія в моєму рукотворному житті вже ніколи не трапиться. Вона і справді видатна для моєї особистої колекції картин вишитих хрестиком :-) Тому що я закінчила одну з них, розпочату біля восьми років тому! Декілька разів я намагалася завершити цю роботу, але відкладала, відкладала і знову відкладала... Дуже добре пам'ятаю, як все починалося. 

By that time I'd had three splendid cross stitched landscapes, two Winters and one Spring, absolutely stunning and the most complicated work I had ever done before. And I thought about going on with Summer or Autumn. Then I thought which landscape I would like to have in front of my eyes if, for example, left Ukraine. And thus I chose this one. Soon after finishing the picture, in the Internet I came across the paintings which probably inspired the author of my pattern. They were few interpretations of fields with poppies by Paul Guy Gantner, a Korean artist who painted in France! 

На той момент у мене було три чудових вишитих пейзажі, дві "Зими" і одна "Весна", цілком надзвичайна  і найскладніша робота, яку я колись вишивала. І я розмірковувала над продовженням теми "Осінню" чи "Літом". Тоді я подумала, який би пейзаж я хотіла бачити перед очима, якщо б, до прикладу, залишила Україну. Ось так і обрала цю картину. Незабаром по закінченню роботи в Інтернеті я натрапила на полотна, які, напевно, надихнули автора моєї схеми. Це були декілька інтерпретацій полів з маками Поля Гая Гантнера, корейського художника, який творив у Франції! 

Anyway I love poppies. Their life is very short but very bright. During several days of their blossoming they seem to saturate as much or even more warmth and light as other flowers for weeks. Poppy, for me, is the flower radiating life... 

Як би там не було, все одно я люблю маки. Життя їхнє дуже коротке, але дуже яскраве. Протягом декількох днів цвітіння вони, здається, вбирають стільки ж, а може і більше, тепла і світла, скільки інші квіти за тижні. Мак, для мене, це квітка, яка випромінює життя...

Belted V-neck Blouse, or Green Hutors (Farmstead)

A visit to this nice place was planned long ago but postponed few times because of absence of the necessary number of tourists to go. And finally last weekend me, my cousin and my friend got the chance! The weather forecast promised the best weather ever to spend in the country: thunderstorm, lightning and heavy rain. But sometimes you just don't care and feel as if the day is ideal for such a trip. It only proves the idea that our enjoyment depends on our intention to be happy. 

To make the day even brighter with impressions I sewed a quick blouse of a light staple with picturesque chaotic print. Probably our wish to have as much fun as possible was so irresistible that in a couple of hours after our arrival to the place, the rain gave up and the sun, at first not very active but then quite confidently, accompanied us up to the evening.

The blouse model #103 from Burda 3/2019  is combined with Coral Yoke Trousers and the outfit is completed with Raspberry Song  and Silver Rain necklaces.

Блузка з вирізом "мисом" та поясом, або Зелені хутори

Подорож до цього місця було заплановано давно, але вона декілька разів відкладалася через брак необхідної кількості туристів. Нарешті минулих вихідних нашій маленький компанії у складі мене, моєї сестри та подруги пощастило! Прогноз погоди обіцяв найкращу погоду для поїздки за місто: грозу зі зливою. Але іноді тобі просто байдуже і ти почуваєшся наче погода ідеальна для такої подорожі. І це лише доводить думку про те, що наше задоволення залежить від нашого бажання бути щасливими. Щоб додати прогулянці ще більше яскравих вражень, я пошила легку блузку зі штапелю з мальовничим хаотичним візерунком. Мабуть наше бажання погуляти як слід було настільки нездоланним, що за пару годин по нашому приїзді дощ почав вщухати і сонце, спочатку несміливо, а потім все активніше, супроводжувало нас до вечора. 

Блузку 103 з Burda 3/2019 скомбіновано з "Кораловими штанами на кокетці", вбрання доповнено намистами "Малинова пісня" і "Срібний дощ".

The place's name is Green Farmstead (Zeleni Khutory). It is a kind of imitation of an old village with many interesting and funny objects and talented people who meet the guests  in their workshops to show (and learn those who want) how different craftsmen work.

Місце називається Зелені Хутори. Це така собі імітація старого села з багатьма цікавими та кумедними об'єктами та талановитими людьми, які зустрічають гостей в своїх майстернях, щоб показати ( та навчити тих, хто бажає), як працюють різні ремісники.

The territory of the Farmstead is quite big, the workshops have a lot of place around so despite at weekends there are  many people there, it doesn't feel over-crowded and everybody can do whatever he wants.

Територія Хуторів доволі велика, майстерні мають багато простору навколо, тож, хоча на вихідних людей багато, жодного відчуття натовпу навколо немає і кожний може зайнятися чим заманеться.

For example, we just walked, saw, took photos and had fun. Instead of learning doing the crafts, in the corresponding workshops I bought honey candles, thinking about Christmas, a leather bracelet and a big coin, which I am going to use to make a pendant :-)

Ми, наприклад, лише гуляли, дивилися, фотографували і розважалися. Замість вчитися ремеслам, у відповідних майстернях я купила медові свічки, з думкою про Різдво, шкіряний браслет і велику монету, з якою збираюся зробити кулон :-)

And what about the blouse? It is so quick and simple to sew that seemed to sew itself :-)

А як щодо блузки? ЇЇ так просто і швидко шити, що, здається, вона пошилася сама:-)

The belt loop I crocheted and then sewed to the blouse. It was quicker and just a chain row was enough.

Петлю для пояса я сплела гачком, а потім пришила до блузки. Так було швидше і лише 1 ряду ланцюжку достатньо.

Wrap Style Blouse

Sometimes, when starting writing about my new work I am surprised at my inspiration myself :-) For example, I wanted to make a quick blouse to match these pants. It was not urgent as I generally have what to pair with them but then I saw this silk in the store and was lost in its print :-) At that moment we lived captured in rainy days and I saw the flowers on the print as if being perceptible through the morning haze. Besides, the print matched the texture so perfect as if those petals could be touched... Saying in brief, it's clear I've bought it. But then suddenly after the weeks of intensive work I suddenly noticed that this year my mum's hard efforts created absolutely splendid arch of roses in the garden. I thought that I had never managed to sew something in time to take photos in the best time of rose blossoming so decided to hurry up and made a blouse in one day. Although the idea of the print and the stunning roses have nothing in common but I was happy when was on time to take the photo :-)

 The jewellery set "Melting Hearts"  matched well enough to the outfit.

Блузка з заходом

Іноді, як починаю писати про мою нову роботу, сама дивуюся звідки взялося натхнення на пошиття:-) Наприклад, я хотіла зробити якусь швидку блузку до цих штанів. Нагальної потреби в цьому не було, бо у мене є з чим їх комбінувати, але тут я натрапила на цей шовк у крамниці і загубилася у його візерунку :-) Ми тоді жили у полоні дощових днів і я побачила, як наче ці квіти проглядають крізь ранкову імлу. Крім того, візерунок та текстура тканини так відповідали одне одному наче ті пелюстки можна було відчути на дотик... Словом, зрозуміло, що я її купила:-) Потім, після декількох тижнів напруженої роботи, я раптом побачила, що мамина надзвичайна праця створила в садочку приголомшливу арку з квітучих троянд. Я подумала, що я ніколи не встигаю пошити щось вчасно для того, щоб зробити фото під час їхнього повного цвітіння,  тож поспішила і за день зробила блузку. І хоча ідея візерунку тканини і розкішні троянди не мають нічого спільного, я була щаслива, що встигла зробити фото :-)

The blouse must be fitted enough to wear untucked. So I chose the model #118 from Burda 1/2017. I liked the blouse but had never had the intention to make it before. As my fabric is too thin and soft, I had to refuse from making the crossing bands because I have not small bust and I was sure the details would be rolling while wearing the blouse what would be annoying.

Блузка повинна була мати прилягаючий силует,  щоб носити її навипуск. Тож я обрала модель 118 з Burda 1/2017. Блузка мені подобалася, але раніше я ніколи не збиралася її шити. Оскільки тканина у мене тонка і м'яка, довелося відмовитися від перехресних планок тому що бюст у мене не маленький і вони б, в процесі носіння блузки, скручувалися, а це б дратувало.

The sewing was enjoyment despite super "alive" texture of the fabric :-)

Незважаючи на супер "жваву" текстуру тканини, пошиття принесло задоволення:-)

Sunday Trousers

As we had an extra day off last Tuesday because of Easter and May Day celebrations, this Saturday we worked. So only one day off separated our tired souls from a new week. When I was leaving school yesterday my friend said, we had enough time to have some rest anyway. But we are probably too exhausted by the end of the year to appreciate enough the weekend of only one day off :-) To tell the true, I rarely feel relaxed on Sunday unless I mustn't get up early on Monday. The second part of the day mostly makes me think about work and the things I have to do or haven't done: the time of overcoming the oppression because of a new working week's approaching. Not to be influenced by this mood too much today, I decided to save my day off by sewing new trousers. I thought red pants would be able to help to treat that traditional Sunday evening melancholy properly if I managed to make them nice. It seems I did :-)

Недільні штани

Оскільки минулого тижня у нас був додатковий вихідний через святкування Великодня і Першотравня, цієї суботи ми працювали. Тож лише єдиний день відділяв наші стомлені душі від нового тижня. Коли я вчора уходила зі школи, моя подруга промовила, що у нас все одно є достатньо часу щоб відпочити. Але, мабуть, ми занадто виснажені наприкінці року, щоб відповідно оцінити уікенд з одного вихідного :-) По правді сказати, я рідко буваю розслабленою у неділю, якщо тільки мені не треба рано вставати у понеділок. Друга частина дня переважно примушує мене думати про роботу та про речі, які я маю зробити або не зробила: час подолання пригнічення через наближення початку нового робочого тижня. Щоб сьогодні не дуже піддаватися подібному настрою, я вирішила врятувати його пошиттям нових штанів. Я подумала, що червоні штани здатні допомогти у лікуванні тої традиційної вечірньої недільної меланхолії, якщо тільки мені вдасться їх добре зробити. Здається, мені вдалося :-)

To make this pair of trousers I used the model #125 from Burda 10/2009. Thanking to the stretching dense and heavy fabric the trousers look very nice and wrap the legs very softly. The ready item is very comfortable and this silhouette is still my favourite because suits me well.

The blouse is not new, it is from even much older issue, #119 from Burda 7/2004. But because of the fabric it still looks awesome and I wear it with pleasure.

The matching earrings "Fogs & Roses" are a good accessory to the outfit.

Щоб зробити цю пару штанів, я скористалася викрійкою 125 з Burda 10/2009. Завдяки еластичній щільній і важкій тканині, штани виглядають дуже гарно і огортають ноги дуже м'яко. Готовий виріб дуже зручний , а цей силует все ще мій улюблений, оскільки добре мені пасує.

Блузка не нова, вона зі ще більш старого числа: 119 з Burda 7/2004. Але завдяки тканині все ще мило виглядає і я із задоволенням її одягаю.

Гарним доповненням до вбрання стали сережки "Імла і троянда".

There are not anything particular about the sewing. 

В пошитті немає нічого особливого.

The fly is processed in a usual way, for example, like here.

Застібку оброблено у звичайний спосіб, наприклад, як тут.

And, as I have a nice red belt, I wanted to add loops to hold it (let them be instead of pockets which I very rarely make for the pants).

І, оскільки у мене є гарний червоний ремінь, мені ще захотілося додати до штанів шлевки (вважатиму, що то замість кишень, які я рідко роблю на штанях).

Sheath Dress, or Easter Classics

I mostly try to find some reasons to sew whatever and festivals are one of the best deadlines. My mom used to tell me that, in her childhood, despite hard life at those times, in her family new clothes for Easter celebration had been a must. I believe it is a good tradition and by my age I had spread it to the rest of the holidays as well :-) This year I had no plan to sew something special for Easter celebration but after baking paskas (traditional Easter bread) and painting the eggs I suddenly understood that I still had time for sewing. The fabric and pattern were matched in autumn and waited for their right hour. I have few such pairs in my stash: this one seemed to be simple and quick to make. My mom's tulips were in full blossom at that moment so I was inspired by the bright colours which always associate with full flourishing life what is, in my opinion, coincides with the idea of the feast:-)

Сукня футляр, або Великодня класика

Переважно я намагаюся знайти причину, щоб щось пошити і одні з найкращих мотиваторів це, звісно, свята. Колись мама казала, що в часи її дитинства, незважаючи на тодішнє важке життя, новий одяг на Великдень в її родині був обов'язковим. Як на мене, чудова традиція, тож, до мого віку, я її поширила на весь святковий календар:-) Цього року я не планувала шити щось спеціально до Великодня, але після того, як паски були напечені, а яйця пофарбовані, раптом з'ясувалося, що у мене ще і на пошиття час залишився. Модель і тканина були підібрані ще восени і чекали на свій зірковий момент. У мене таких пар у мене в запасі декілька: ця видалася простою  і швидкою для пошиття. На той момент тюльпани заполонили своєю красою весь мамин садочок, тож їхні яскраві кольори, які завжди асоціюються з розквітом і повнотою життя, що, на мою думку, якнайкраще відповідає ідеї свята, надихнули мене саме на цей вибір.

So the dress #113 from Burda 10/2018. Having in mind its fitting, it was predictable to be made :-) The fabric is dense but well draping stretch of rayon and p/a blend, maybe there was some more fibres but I don't remember. The colour speaks for itself, it has irresisitable power to attract attention and wish to wear it:-)

Отже сукня 113 з Burda 10/2018. Якщо взяти до уваги її прилягання стає очевидним невідворотність її пошиття :-) Тканина - щільний стреч з суміші віскози та п/е, якій гарно драпується, може там ще було якесь волокно, але я не пам'ятаю. Колір говорить сам за себе, він має непереборну владу привертати увагу та бажання його носити :-)

Actually, I didn't make it right to Easter day, I started on the eve but finished on Monday after the holiday. On Easter Day I went to the cinema with my cousin's family, then we had dinner outdoors in my parents house's yard so I wore jeans, a shirt and a coat. And these nice photos were taken by my cousin in two days after that :-)

Насправді, я його не пошила саме на Великдень, почала напередодні, але закінчувала вже в понеділок після свята. На Великдень я ходила в кіно з родиною моєї сестри, а потім на подвір'ї будинку моїх батьків у нас був святковий обід, тож я вдягнула джинси, сорочку і плащ. А ці гарні фото сестра зробила вже за два дні по тому :-) 

The sewing itself was almost entirely by the instruction. I only sewed the zipper not right from the neck hole but a little lower. Besides, I topstitched the facing in the part of the neckhole pleat on the wrong side, the rest of neckhole on the right side.

Саме пошиття було майже цілком за інструкцією. Я лише втачала блискавку трохи нижче вирізу горловини. Крім того, відстрочила обшивку горловини по стороні обшивки на частині складки, решту - по лицевій стороні.

Eos Retro Button-Up Dress, or Art of Manipulation

The talks about manipulations are very popular. By those who are manipulating and who are manipulated; and by psychologists, who explain the latter how bad it is for them (as if we don't know!), and by sociologists and politicians, who are great manipulators themselves, and mass media, of course. The list is probably can be easily prolonged passing from the global stuff to the pretty grounded. My only conclusion from all those talks as well as from own life experience -  everybody can be manipulated. Some of us are influenced harder by the information, others - easier. But as any of us has a weak point, there is always something or somebody who is able to aim at that point to make us do in their way and we still will think we take our own decisions.

For example, if any magazine for dressmakers wants me to buy their edition, they just need to offer the model of the outfit with a kimono with gusset sleeve and I surely will purchase it. Even if this dress is the only one in the issue I would like to sew. Even if the dress requires the amount of fabric I would never buy or even if the pattern has some not flattering my figure details. And all that is just because such a sleeve is one of my weak points when it goes about choosing the patterns:-)

Ретро сукня "Еос", або Мистецтво маніпуляції

Балачки про маніпуляції дуже популярні. Серед тих хто маніпулює і тих ким маніпулюють. І серед психологів, які розповідають останнім як це для них погано (наче ми самі цього не розуміємо!); і серед соціологів та політиків, які самі великі маніпулятори, а ще ж, звичайно, ЗМІ. Перелік, напевно, можна з легкістю подовжити переходячи від глобального до доволі приземленого. Єдиний мій висновок з тих балачок, а переважно з життєвого досвіду, маніпулювати можна будь ким. Деякі з нас піддаються впливу легше, дехто складніше. Але оскільки кожний з нас має якесь слабке місце, завжди знайдеться щось або хтось здатний поцілити в це місце, щоб примусити нас вчинити у потрібний йому спосіб і при цьому ми залишатимемося впевнені, що приймаємо власне рішення. 

Скажімо, якщо якійсь журнал для кравчинь хоче, щоб я купила їхнє видання, їм варто лише запропонувати модель вбрання з рукавом кімоно з ластовицею і я його, без сумніву, придбаю. Навіть якщо ця сукня єдина в числі, яку мені хотілося б пошити. Навіть якщо на неї треба стільки тканини, скільки я ніколи не куплю або навіть якщо модель має деталі протипоказані моїй фігурі. А все тому, що такий рукав - одне з моїх слабких місць при виборі моделі для пошиття :-)

Right on that reason Burda 12/2018 was bought as soon as the dress #118 caught my eye. It is blue in the issue but I saw it in powder colour of gentle rosy hue and imagined myself looking in it like Eos, the goddess of the dawn... It was so lovely in that vision. The model required 3.60 m of fabric, which is out discussion to buy. So I thought it is quite safe to have a magazine at hand just in case :-) And one day I come in the fabric store and see the knits in powder colour of gentle rosy hue and a decent discount for it. I had no chances to resist :-)

Саме з цієї причини було куплено Burda 12/2018 щойно впала в око сукня 118. В журналі вона синя, але я побачила її пудрового кольору ніжно рожевого відтінку і уявила себе в ньому Еос, богинею вранішньої зорі... в тому видінні все було таке гарне. Сукня потребувала 3,60 м тканини, тож я подумала, що буде доволі безпечно мати під рукою журнал просто про всяк випадок :-) І ось одного дня заходжу в крамницю тканин і бачу там трикотаж пудрового кольору ніжно рожевого відтінку і пристойну знижку на нього. Шансів пручатися не було :-)

The sewing started with inserting the gussets. I made a row of stitches around the neck hole to prevent it from stretching as my fabric is although dense but soft knits.

Пошиття почалося з втачування ластовиці. Також я проклала ряд стібків вздовж краю горловини щоб запобігти її розтягуванню, оскільки моя тканина хоча і щільний, проте, м'який трикотаж.

When main details were sewed together, it became clear that when wearing what I got I mostly reminded a not very small rosy cloud  instead of what I'd imagined. The dress had much extra fabric on the sides.

Коли основні деталі було зшито, стало зрозуміло, що вдягнувши сукню, більш за все я нагадую не дуже маленьку рожеву хмаринку замість того, що я собі уявляла. Бокові шви мали забагато зайвої тканини.

But instead to cut the fabric at once, I yet decided at first to process the neck hole and collar and the front edge of the dress and only then think about changing the side lines.

Замість того, щоб одразу обрізати тканину, я вирішила спочатку обробити середній зріз переду, горловину і комір і вже потім подумати про зміни в бокових швах.

After that I cut some fabric along the side seams but still wasn't satisfied with the result. So I unpicked the horizontal seam and removed the gathering and all the extra fabric with it. I also stitched the pleats for about 15 cm down.

I didn't want to make button holes because they not always look neat on the knits so decided to sew plastic transparent snaps. And then I sewed the buttons just as decoration.

Після того зрізала трохи тканини з бокових швів, результат мені все ще не подобався. Тож я розпустила горизонтальний шов і позбулася призбирування і вже потім зрізала всю зайву тканину. Також застрочила передні складки ще на 15 см вниз.

Петлі не хотілося прорізати, тому що на трикотажі вони не завжди гарно виглядають, тому для застібки пришила прозорі пластикові кнопки. А вже потім пришила ґудзики як декор.

Starry Night...or Almost Like Van Gogh :-)

It was April 5 yesterday and one of my epic UFOs (UnFinishedObjects)  was over :-) I am very happy with the fact and quite satisfied with the result on few reasons. Firstly, I started the work on December 7, 2016... you see, more than two years it spent in my needlework basket (to be exact this "basket" is a plenty of boxes and bags in which different materials are put into smaller boxes and bags :-)). Secondly, to increase the intensity of the process I decided not to start anything new either to bead or sew or whatever until finishing this seed beads embroidering. So now I feel relatively free about starting new projects and am pretty impatient to do that :-)

The picture hasn't been framed yet so for the post I "made" a frame of the matching photo.

Зоряна ніч... або Майже як ван Гог

Вчора було 5 квітня і один з моїх НЗП (НеЗакінченихПроектів) був, нарешті, доведений до кінця :-) Дуже радію з самого факту і достатньо задоволена результатом з декількох причин. По-перше, роботу було розпочато 7 грудня 2016 року... як бачиш, більше двох років провела вона в моєму рукодільному кошику (насправді "кошик" - це купа коробок і торбин, в яких усілякі матеріали розкладені по менших коробках і торбинках :-)). По-друге, щоб посилити інтенсивність роботи, я вирішила не відволікатися на виготовлення інших виробів поки не закінчу цю вишивку бісером. Тож зараз почуваюся відносно вільною у виборі свіженького проекту і мені вже кортить його розпочати :-) Картина ще не має рамки, тож для допису я "зробила" рамку просто з відповідного фото.

This work differs from my previous seed beads embroidering because the surface is covered with seed beads entirely. So the work was not as fast as I wanted it to be (I mean when I did embroidered not while it was postponed) and the ready item is very heavy.

When started the picture I was inspired for making the corresponding dress, the necklace and the earrings. I even had an idea to make a bag of this embroidery instead of the picture.  I still have time to think about that indeed :-) Now all the Starry Night set is ready :-) 

Ця робота відрізняється від моїх попередніх подібних вишивок, тому що вся поверхня зашита бісером повністю. Тож виконання було не таким швидким як мені хотілося б (маю на увазі, коли я вишивала, а не поки робота відкладалася) і готова картина дуже важка.

Коли почала вишивку, вона мене надихнула на пошиття відповідної сукні, створення намиста та сережок. У мене навіть була ідея використати цю вишивку для виготовлення сумки замість картини. Часу про це подумати у мене ще достатньо :-) Що ж, тепер "Зоряна ніч" у повному зборі:-)
